Abel drives home from the worst torture he’s ever experienced with one goal in mind: destroy the woman he loves. If he doesn’t, he must watch his mother be brutally murdered.

He’s unable to get far, though, before he’s recruited to stop a powerful demon—a beast without physical senses who kills immediately on contact and disappears for days on end. Luckily, Abel has his tattoos to help him. Unluckily, he’s forced to work with Lizzie again, stirring up feelings he’d hoped to keep buried.

Despite the things he experienced at the hands of the Shadow Prophet, Abel and Lizzie’s close proximity weakens his resolve where his contract is concerned, and he finds his determination wavering. How can he possibly murder this woman, even if it does mean his mother’s life and freedom?

Or can he find a third route—one that doesn’t involve the death of someone he loves? Grab your copy of Evening Storm now to continue Abel’s story!

Andrea, a Brigham Young University graduate, is an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast (hiking, fishing, boating, biking, spending time in the Rocky Mountains, and taking walks). She spent a year and a half serving the Spanish speaking community in Toronto, Canada, and fluently speaks 2 ½ languages. She plays several instruments, not including the banjo, and loves putting together musical arrangements. Her favorite sports are basketball and football, though several knee surgeries and incurably awful coordination prevent her from playing them.

Andrea is always in the mood for a good movie with close friends and family (especially her husband and mom), with a large glass of milk and a bowl of overly buttered popcorn nearby. She also enjoys oil painting, making earrings, squeezing every bit of oxygen out of Ziploc bags, and she hopes to someday travel to Italy and Alaska.

As usual, Ms Pearson has another well written book under her belt. Once again, this is Abel’s story. He struggles with the contract the Shadow Prophet has him under—to assassinate Lizzie. But first he has to save her and protect her. Yes, very conflicting tasks. It gets progressively harder for Abel to fulfill his contract as he realizes his true feelings for Lizzie. But I believe Ms Pearson has written into this Book Two of the Midnight Chronicles Series a possible way out of Abel’s contract. Yay! I want so much for Abel to have his happiness for he has suffered a great deal. And he has proven many times over his love for Lizzie, especially during the evening storm scene in this book. I predict this series to be another winner for Ms. Pearson.

Evening Storm is the second book in the Midnight Chronicles series. I do not recommend that you read this as a standalone book. There is some violence. I love hearing the story from Abel's POV.

How can a man choose between 2 woman he loves? One from birth, One who consumes his heart, body & soul. As book 2 in this series seamlessly continues Abel’s choice is not made any easier, even with the brutal torture he has to endure his choice should be easy. This is no hearts & flowers romance, it’s one with raw powerful, cruel consequences...Worst he is on his own. This is his point of view from Lizzie’s storyline from her own series Koven Chronicles As this was such a hit I was a bit dubious about reading the same story again but this is so creativity written it blends exceptionally well as I always wondered where Abel disappeared to and what appeared as a callous hard faced man’s thoughts, Never could I have imagined Abel had so much going on behind that rigid facade. His mission is to collect her essence and rid the world of Lizzie, yet all he seems to do is everything to protect her. On their travels there may be a glimmer of hope for Abel from another to outwit the Shadow Prophet. It’s hard to reveal anything as I don’t want to spoil anything from Lizzie’s story or spoil anything from this series for you. What I will say is that is a series that gives emotional torment, battles, constant action, hostilities & controversy with so much inbetween. I 100% recommend all of Andrea Person’s books. To me she writes with her heart but takes no prisoners with an imagination beyond comprehension & full of surprises.

Evening Storm by Andrea Pearson

This is the second book in the series where we are learning Abel’s story. I must admit at first that I was wondering what the author was doing writing about the same events from a different characters perspective. I didn’t think that writing the story from Abel’s point of view would hold my interest- since we know what ultimately happens. However, now I am hooked and I hope she finishes the next book earlier than projected because I want to know what happens with Abel’s story.

In the Koven Chronicles we learn about Lizzie, her adventures, her interaction with Abel and how she deals with the challenges she faces. Abel comes and goes throughout the novels but we don’t really know why. These books tell us the challenges that Abel faces that he doesn’t really share with Lizzie and I am anxious to learn how it resolves.

Andrea Pearson is a good writer who has a creative story line with interesting characters and an intriguing plot. She has characters who you love, get frustrated with, shake your head at, and wonder “how in the world do they do it? - all with in the same chapter! If your looking for a story involving magic, fantasy, challenging situations, with good characters- I would recommend reading this series. If you’re just looking for an entertaining book to read- I would still recommend the series. So basically, I would recommend this book to everyone,

This is a bit of a cliff hanger series so far. I normally don’t care for that but this one has such an enthralling story, and blends events from a prior series, I just can’t wait for each new book!

Able failed to get rid of the Shadow Prophet. So far, he has killed five Aretes and collected their magical essence for him. His mother is held captive and tortured to get Able’s cooperation in the killings.

Able hates the things he has done but no matter what he has tried so far, he has failed to free himself and his mother from this evil spirit. He has two more targets on his contract. The next killing he has to perform is Lizzie.

How can he possibly reconcile killing the woman he loves? Can Able make the choice to sacrifice his mother instead? What could be his undoing is that his last target, after Lizzie, seems to know about the first five deaths! Will he be caught before he can free his mother?

I was gifted a coy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Evening Storm, the second book in the Midnight Chronicles series, picks up right where the first book left off. It parallels things that happened in the second Koven Chronicles book (The Black Masquerade), but from Abel’s point of view this time. It’s very interesting getting to see where Abel was all those times he disappeared and what his emotions were doing when he was basically acting like a jerk to Lizzie. The story really sucks you in and is very well written. I highly recommend it to people who like urban fantasy and especially people who have read the Koven Chronicles (though you don’t have to have read them first – but if you have it will make Abel’s story even better).

Oh. My. Lord. I wouldn’t want my worst enemies to go through what Abel goes through in Andrea Pearson’s Evening Storm (Midnight Chronicles, Book 2), but it does make for one heck of a fine story. Knowing the choice he is facing, adds a whole extra dimension to following Abel and Lizzie in this action filled story. Superbly plotted and written, with a great cast and benefitting from superb world-building, this is a “don’t miss” novel (though reading book 1 first will enhance the pleasure). Highly recommended.

Abel’s story continues in Evening Storm. He has just witnessed some horrible things and decides he must finish his contract. But can he bring himself to do it? He now knows where his last 2 targets are but before he can finish, he must save Lizzie from another monster first. I really love how this series goes along with the Koven Chronicles. Hearing about everything Abel was doing when he wasn’t with Lizzie is great!

I just love reading Abel's story! Paralleling, but not copying, The Masquerade (Koven Chronicles, book 2), it lets you know what Abel was doing in his “missing” moments from the Koven Chronicles. I really love Abel and just how human he is; mistakes, conflicts of emotions, and conflicts in his jobs he is a well-written and well thought out character. I can't wait for the next installment!

A real page turner. I cannot wait yo see what happens next. Abel needs to come to a decision, finally: to kill Lizzie or not. Has he left any stones unturned in his quest to find a way out of his contract? And just how does she feel about him, anyway? I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

Exciting! Abel's story takes you on a roller coaster ride. His emotions are all over the place, even though he trys to keep them place. He is keeping Lizzie safe while needing to fulfill his contract to kill her. Full of unexpected twists and turns.

I have really enjoyed this books so far. I can stop for a while and come back to it and can remember and continue without re-reading. I've enjoyed reading of his changing and in turn her changing opinion of him. The magic is of course awesome. It's just a good series.

Other then the ending completely sneaking up on my ,it was a good book. It's fun to get Able's viewpoint on certain things. I really enjoy all the side projects that he has going.

I love reading the stories from Abel's point of view

With evening storm you learn a lot more about the relationship between Eleanor and Abel. There are also some exciting battles and interesting things that you didn't know Able had done
