I live in Maine with my husband, a silly flufferpup named Dash, and a crazy cat named Cricket. I write full time and also create mixed media artwork when I get the chance.

When I was three, my mom brought home a new book and when she went to read it to me, I read it to her instead. That was when she realized I'd learned to read. Since then I couldn't even estimate the number of books I've read. It's a lot!

Ghost Haste is Book 4 in the Haunted Everly After Mystery Series.
I love this book! I couldn't put it down. The writing is excellent and leaves the reader wanting more.
The characters are funny, well developed and have the best interactions. Speaking of that, the dialogue is so well written and perfectly paced.

This is a great series and I am excited for the next book !

entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A funcast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Everly Dupree is young woman who caught her husband in bed cheating with her best friend. That was only the beginning of her troubles as there was a whole scheme going on That will play out starting in book one. Basically she’s being framed for diverting funds in her husband‘s foundation. You’ll have to read the stories to find out what’s going on and where it’s going. Everly packed up took her meager belongings and moved back to her small hometown in Maine where she lucked out and got a house at a tax lien auction for an affordable price that she could handle. She has restarted her life and got back together with old friends and new friends. She’s got a new job she got a new house and things are looking up. Yet there is that issue of her old life still hanging over her. Read on and find out what’s going on in this part of the story as at least part of that whole life may be exposed to the light. Entertaining and a fun read. Check it out

Amber is a ghost that is around and has a tendency to talk a lot. She had been murdered and wants someone to entertain her which is not necessarily Everly's job description.

One quote I like from the book is this: '...when one door closes, another one opens but if it doesn't you just go throw a brick through the window.'

Reve is the woman that stole her husband, Paul, from Everly. There's a bit of a problem with the storage locker that she has, though, since it's got a dead guy in it-Winston.

Of course Winston's ghost shows up to Everly and wants her to find his murderer. There's also a part about an important envelope that goes missing in Everly's house.

If thing weren't complicated enough for Everly someone shows up at her house planning to kill her.

The characters are good, the stories are good and it's different enough from other books of this type.

A Good Everly Story that Complements the 1st Well

Of course there's ghosts! It is an Everly Dupree, formerly Hastings story, right? Book 4 brings back all the vile, villainous creatures from Book 1. Which creatures? Glad you asked. Ex-husband, ex-best girl friend, DO It who cheated with ex-husband, ex-husband's vile attorney, the spiteful, horrible ex-in-laws to name the big ones. A pair of ghosts, a drunk, a virus or FLU epidemic and life in a small town in Maine join together with the rich, not famous but snobby in a tale of murder, scandal and new love? Well maybe on that last one....

Good

When her ex-husband’s lawyer turns up murdered, Everly finds herself with another ghost to deal with, and a murder that needs solving- which might just lead to answers that could help her get the FBI off of her back.

This book picks up a few weeks after Christmas Presence, and actually features some characters from the author’s Psychic Seasons series (which doesn’t need to be read to enjoy this story, but probably should be read to introduce the characters in that series).
It rounds out Everly’s new start, with closure on the events surrounding her ex-husband and ex-best-friend; while giving Everly a new, intriguing man in her life.
Drew seems like a nice, supportive guy; while David has become very much like an honourary brother to her. She has new friends in Neena and Patrea, as well as her lifelong friend Jacy and her family.
A fast paced, cosy paranormal mystery, this is an enjoyable and entertaining read, with likeable characters and a quirky, fun town as a setting.

I enjoyed picking up the story line after a break, but found the ending to be flat and disappointing. No doubt the answers to my questions will come in the next book, but I would have liked a little more at the ending of this one.

I also would have liked the author to elaborate on the table conversation at the charity even where Everly sat opposite her former in-laws. After a tense start, there was no further conversation between them, even when the society lady beside Everly blamed Paul for her problems. Did the former in-laws disappear and not hear this?

Oh my ghost. This was good!

Like, really, really good! This was a very well written book, in an I can’t stop reading way. It was ah-mazing! Everything felt real, the conversations, the descriptions, the feelings. Good character development. Great story! It had an easy flow to it, compelling me to read one more chapter, one more chapter. The kind of book you don’t want to ever end but of course it does, and it left me feeling happy.

I haven't read the other books in this series but I had no problem following along. I really enjoyed it too. The characters were good. I really enjoyed the friends and how they fit in along with the ghosts. Very funny and engaging. The mystery was good without being really scary. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Well the ex-friend who slept with Everly's ex-husband is back and expects Everly to help her find the ex who has disappeared. Then Reva expects Everly not just to give her a place to stay but to also help her find Paul. Lots of unexpected twists and turns including standing up to her ex-in-laws, learning self-defense and meeting someone interesting. The action never stops, a really great read, if you love mysteries then you're going to love this book!

As with the rest of this series, I loved this book until... the ending. With all of the excitement throughout the book, I felt the ending was somewhat rushed and left me with that...huh(?) feeling. Maybe it's just me, but I wanted more of tying up the loose ends and maybe a little Drew thrown in for good measure. Other than my little bitch with the ending, I am enjoying this series with wild abandon and binging!

I just could not finish. The MC turned out to be a "too-stupid-to-live" heroine. The villain was broadcast to loudly early on, and yet ... "Sure. Come on in. Let me help you out." Also, I found that the overarching plot line about the divorce/forgery/embezzlement was just carried on too long for my tastes.

She is a door mat

I only read a few chapters. The fact that she helped Reva really made me mad. Not only that she drove her around, pay her motel and was treated like the help. Her personality sting. That's not been a good person, she was a door mat. Hopefully, the next book won't include more of the same😒😡

Revenge is Sweet.

Paul (the ex-husband), is still hanging out with Reva. You know, the woman Paul slept with in Everly and Paul’s bed. But suddenly Paul goes missing and Reva shows up at Everly’s door looking for “her man”.

That is the first couple of pages in the book. You really need to read the rest to see how this plays out.

I highly recommend this book!

Good

I have been reading the series in order and love the continuing story of these strong women as they help each other heal from last mistakes. A ghost, murder and a little romance makes for a good read.

Ending Wasn’t As Good

Rating: 3/5

This was one of those books where I was really invested in the plot, the characters, and even the ghosts, but the last chapter didn’t stand up to the rest of the story. Watching Everly come in to her own has been entertaining. But knowing they tried to write off some of what Paul did to her the way they did was horrific. We don’t stand for gaslighters. Or rich jerks.

Everlyes mystery of Dead Lawyer

I enjoyed this mystery. I enjoyed the antics of the ghost and also Everly's friends. Especially the visit to the Emergency room for Navy who is pregnant and ate too much chili.

Awesome

Wonderful story. Answered all my questions about an over arching plot line that started in book 1 with Everly's cheating husband and resulting divorce. I am so happy this was resolved and not carried on throughout the series as many authors try to do.

Great book

Poor Everly her past just won't stay in the past. That horrible woman Reva has shown up and Paul's lawyer ends up dead. Everly does get some closure and maybe a new man in her life.

she’s way too nice.

I know very few people who could be “Everly”. As I read through the chapters; I thought to myself: either she’s a savant or she really is way too, nice. Happy Reading! On to book 5
