What a great book to start off the New Year with. It is a message I want to take forward with me through the year, and the rest of my life. This topic is one that doesn’t just touch close to home, it smashes in the front door.
The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L Montgomery is a bit different from her other books- but still has her wit, humour and positive messages stamped all over it.
This book is like sitting down and having a coffee and chat with a close friend. It lays everything out and doesn’t pull any punches- but in a really helpful and uplifting way. It gives inspiring advice, helpful hints, motivational quotes, and even a kick@ss playlist to go with your new attitude.
So, if like me, you have struggled with body image issues, and loving the skin you’re in- then this is definitely the book you need to help adjust your mindset and give you the positive inspiration to move forward with a new perspective and respect for yourself.
Thought provoking, real, and inspiring!

Thank you, Ms. Montgomery!

I feel like K.L.Mongtomery is definitely on the right track with this book. I really liked the interactive way in which it was written. She uses journaling assignments to reinforce the lessons throughout the book. Most of these are thought provoking, to the point of being uncomfortable, but in the year that this book takes to complete, I can see how helpful it will be.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a very interesting book and sounds like the author had some bad experience with medical professional when growing up been negative instead of actually helping. This is an extremely straight to the point book which is awesome in my opinion. Give it a read it real gets through to you about the way body image is portrayed on different forms of media.

The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your Body by KL Montgomery is everything we know but most don’t put into practice. This is a very different book than what she normally writes but it is written honestly and with humour. It is a book that is aimed at self-love and to be comfortable in the skin in which you wear every day. Let's face it many of us don’t like what we see in ourselves, but we live with it anyway.

This book is designed to help you become that if you want without being to serious. Give it ago you never know.

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery a positive five-star read. I have enjoyed several of this authors works and always found them to be body positive but this just brought it to the next level, we get to hear the author tell us about their own story, and if like me you struggle with your weight, it just adds an extra voice to the one in your head, and to me that extra voice is a welcome one as its being nice for a change. I enjoyed the style of writing as its not your typical in this type, there is a lightness, freshness and something extra as well. I have read this from cover to cover and devoured it, but I am sure I will be dipping in and out as its filled with messages that you can take day by day as well as information, journals and story’s about how to love yourself no matter who you are or what your size.

K.L. Montgomery has been a one-click author of mine for a while now and when I saw she had written a self help book for people like me and even others who aren't like me. (Fat and not fat). To get women to love themselves in the skin they are in. Thw Playlist, the meditations, the affirmations, every bit of it is just like sitting in a room with her and talking about everything that you have on your mind.

I have finished a quick read through and now that it is the beginning of a new year i am going to slowly read through this books, do the writing, and start believing that I AM WORTHY.

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery

This book is not only one for those struggling with their own body acceptance, but also a humorous and realistic take on figuring out how to love yourself, whatever your size. As someone who’s struggled with weight over the last 15 years I have experienced personally how body image can impact pretty much every aspect of your existence. As a mental health professional, I have found that many books regarding weight and body issues focus on what to eat and not eat, calories, exercise, and what you should do to be the “right size” and totally ignored the emotional side of things. That has been infuriating and unfortunate and I almost feel like many books just leave the readers feeling like crap instead of making you feel better having read them. Intuitive eating, triggers, the importance of self-care, journal assignments for self-exploration, and daily body positive messages were my favorite things about this book. I think whether your goal is losing weight or just getting comfortable in your own skin then you’ll find valuable information in this book that will help you along the learning process of self-acceptance.

5 ++++++++ stars

I just finished reading this book and I have to say first off, BRAVO! Amazing read, and very eye opening and made me more self aware of things I think or say, as i have a 6 year old daughter who is watching and listening to everything.
Now I read in here that the author would like to hear from someone on the skinny side of things and I'll start this off with saying, my whole life (I'm 32) I have been tiny. I've had 3 kids and being pregnant was the only time in my life the scale ever went over 100lbs. To me, that was a hard pill to swallow seeing the number go up so much every appointment as it was not a normal thing for me to see. I knew it was normal and needed and I didn't change anything I was doing as I wanted to do the best for the growing child in me but it took until my 2nd pregnancy to get over the shock and just guess how much I grew.
My whole life i was labeled the skinny girl, told I needed to eat more , presumed to have an eating disorder etc and with that I can put myself in others shoes as, yes skinny people get bullied too. Not to the extremes I've read or heard about for those larger than me, but its all coming from the same malicious place.
This book has kicked me into wanting to journal with my 6 year old as she, unlike me, puts on weight at a speed I'm not used to personally or compared to her older & younger brothers and that's ok because its her body as we are all different.. She's beautiful, bright and doesn't know or care how she looks and that's my goal to keep with her into loving herself as we've never said a negative thing to her, as I remember what it feels like to hear things .
For years, I cried as I didn't feel like a girl because I have little to no chest. I can go without a bra and no one would notice and I hated that, made me feel less than. Then when I started to accept the fact at age 15, my mom who was in the same boat genetically, got breast augmentation and that started my plan for after I was done with having children that was a must do. She was happier, able to wear whatever she wanted and just seemed to be 'whole'. I still get the urge to book an appointment just to see, but I have a Husband who tells me often he loves me for me and its starting to sink in that I'm perfect how I am.

For me, I feel genetics do play a part as the majority of my family is thin, I remember the story of my maternal grandmother she was newly pregnant with her 8th child and she was 98lbs, so that plays a role and who are we to judge something that many struggle with and have almost zero control over. You can't change your genetic makeup but this book helps teach to embrace you for you and to love who you are.
This feels like rambling now but I don't care. No matter your body type, read this book, do the journals and love yourself for who you are because there's only one you here.

Wow, just Wow, I really felt like this book, this author was really talking straight too me! K.L. Montgomery who refers to herself as Krista in her book is a ‘Kindred Spirit’. This is definitely not just another self-help book, it is much more than that, if like the blurb says, “Do you wonder if you'll ever be happy with your body? then I recommend this book.
It is written in the first person almost as though Krista is talking to you personally, just chatting as friends as it has a casual feel to the writing which I liked and felt was right for this book. The book is divided into bite size chapters with clear headings and each one deals with a particular subject at the end of each chapter is a journaling assignment for the reader to work on.
Krista introduces us to ‘Journaling’ in an early chapter and this is what makes this book unique, as it is gives the book an interactive feel and gets us, as the reader involved and thinking about our own experiences and how we can change for the better. Krista is very clear throughout the book that, “it’s indeed your mind that needs to change, not your body”. “IT IS NOT YOUR JOB TO BE PRETTY” is another saying which is repeated throughout the book. She reaffirms her positive sayings throughout the book.
Krista talks us through ‘deprogramming’ in one chapter and she introduces us to ‘Body Positivity or ‘BoPo’ as she refers to it. I love the fact that Krista is honest and talks openly about her own experiences which made me feel as though I was not alone in my thinking and that someone felt the same, this kept me engaged in the book from beginning to end and I read it in hours not days.
I have also referred back to certain chapters and feel that having read it cover to cover the use of easily identified chapters means the parts that are specific to you, you can refer back to. I love the fact that at then end you can download and print a certificate to, “remind yourself of your commitment to loving your body”. You can also join Krista’s ‘Fat Girl Tribe’, on Facebook and the book ends with a section of daily ‘BoPo’ Meditations which enables the reader to continue their journey, each day has an affirmation to be read and reflected on.
As Krista observes at the end of her book, changing ones mindset and learning to love your body is not an overnight thing. The, “meditations are meant to keep your focus on all things body positive”. I could go on raving about this book for hours but really you need to read it for yourselves to understand how inspirational Krista is and how her advice in this book can really help you. Therefore I can not recommend this book highly enough, a definite must read for anyone wanting to achieve a more positive body image!
So if as the blurb says, “Have you ever struggled to love your body? then yes I definitely agree that, “YES “YOU NEED THIS BOOK. NOW”!

Perfect for the Overweight Woman who Needs a Little TLC

If you have ever had issues with body image or being body positive—or are indeed a fat girl like the title of this book says,--this book is just what you need to be encouraged to truly love yourself for whatever size that you are. The book is surprisingly long and has a lot of different sections. Through the first portion, there is journaling on specific topics. The author also has mini-essays on a variety of topics, including the misogyny behind fat-shaming, the diet industry, and relationships among others. The author at times gets quite strident, sometimes breaking out into ranting asides. But, if you have been a fat girl, you can appreciate her strong advocacy for what might be the last socially sanctioned prejudice. In general, the author is very supportive of the women who might read this book. The tone comes across as if she is just chatting with her best girlfriend; I love that easy, conversational style. After the main sections with these mini-essays and the journaling comes a set of 365 brief meditations to ponder, one each day. This book is meant to be used over the course of a year because, as the author states, learning to love your body as a fat woman who has internalized all that family, friends, doctors, and others in society say about and to fat women is not easy. It is not just a 30-day or three-month process. Actually, it is a lifelong process. Having been overweight all my life, I found that so much of the author said rang true. I think it might surprise us if we all shared notes at how common certain experiences would be. If you have experienced this, parts of this book will make you angry, and parts of it will make you sad, but I think the destination will be worth the journey. While I did read through this book for this review, I of course did not have time to truly act on it. I think I will work through it seriously because this is definitely a problem for me as it is for many others. If you are a fat girl or one who has problems with body image, you may very well find this book to be the tough love that you need.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery

5 ++++++++ STARS

I just don't feel right rating this book using stars...It deserves so much more than a few stars. I started this book thinking ok it's getting close to supper time, I'll go ahead and start it then pick it back up later. Well that did not happen. Hubby got leftovers which he even had to warm up himself and I read this book in a little over 2 hours. I then sat and stared for another half hour until hubby asked if I was ok.

I can not even put into words how this touched me, like I mean straight in the heart, it's like she crawled in my head and stayed there for the last 30-odd years taking every thought and feeling I've experienced. I've since bought one copy for one daughter and was telling another daughter that I was going to buy it for her and she ordered it while we spoke. Next up...Buy the paperback, I want to go back and follow every instruction given and start the journaling I've wanted to start for years and didn't know where to begin, KL Montgomery has given me that direction.

I changed my lifestyle almost 5 years ago and have literally lived it since, just wanted to eat healthy and get rid of preservatives and such, the side effect of that was losing over 100 lbs and have kept it off within 10lbs or so. It still never occurred to me to love my body, you can change your physical lifestyle all day long but the feelings inside are habits that are hard to break and this guide has made me look at things in a whole different light.

I love this Author, she has written 2 of my favorite books ever and now I can say that that number has risen to 3..

Thank you for waking me up, making me smile, making me giggle a few times, making me cry, making me look at myself differently, and allowing me to get to know you.

So I gave this book 5 stars because that's how we rate on our reviews but as I said, this book deserves so much more than stars!

This book is a must have, and I don’t mean just for the ‘fat girl’ either, everyone, especially teen girls should get to experience the way this book shows you to love yourself. One of my favorite things about KL Montgomery is she often includes playlists with her novels in the fiction world but she did her too and I freaking loved it. I have been dying to get my hands on this book since the moment I saw it was being written. We all need to learn to embrace our inner fat self and see ourselves for more than what is our body type. This book shows you that you can make yourself over and your esteem can rise without killing the vibe, it can be fun and freeing to love who you are and that is very much a present thought throughout.

Now I have started this book but I have not completely finished it because it is set up like a journal as well as a book. It gives lots of writing ideas that will help you to dive deep into your thoughts and patterns to see where you need to spend the most time focusing. I think this book is going to be a journey for myself and I won’t rush through it. Instead I have it post-it notated to split it up and savor each moment. It also includes motivational and fabulous quotes for every single day of the year so I look forward to opening this book and reading the daily affirmation/quote. I am excited to share this with my daughter when she turns thirteen this summer as well. She too has a body that she will have to learn to love in a society that preaches we are unlovable. I can’t wait to see what this book will bring the both of us. While you savor this one you can grab many body positive romances to read from KL Montgomery too! Bonus! I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us this year!

I've been doing the journal assignments for this on my blog. And there's a lot of journal entries to complete but that's the beauty of this book - it makes you actively think and assess your mindset.

Now, there's an obvious target market - the clue's in the title.
However, anyone with body issues can find benefit in this book, regardless of size or gender.
"It is not your job to be pretty" is a core belief here - sound advice for all, right?

The first half gives you background of the author's journey along with advice before setting tasks for you. This is a voice of experience, people.

The second half details daily meditations. Every single day for a year, there's a different thought for the day - something to think about or do, all aimed at helping you improve your attitude to your body and food.

This is not "I know better because I have all these degrees" advice. No, it's far better. This is KL Montgomery sharing her experience and life knowledge with you. Open, honest truths.

The informal language throughout is fun and feels like a friendly chat - far better than the "do this/that/the other" of a lot of self-help manuals.
Oh, and there's swearing included, so if the f bomb offends, this may not be the book you are looking for (*waves hand in a Jedi stylee*).

There's definitely some things I will personally take from this book which will help me on my own body positive journey.

So, if you've got a less than friendly self-dialogue going on, grab this book with both hands.
It's even in KU as I write this - a whole year's worth of book fro free. Even at £5 it's a bargain.
If you get the paperback, there's pages included for your journal assignments btw.

If you do one good thing for yourself this month/year, buy this book!

This book might be titled “The Fat Girls Guide…” but this book is for everyone! I think that everyone has probably had or has issues with their bodies. It’s so easy to hate things about yourself and this book will help you learn to love yourself, both inside and out! I’m not normally a self-help book reader, but this is a must read! I’m so glad I picked this one up. It definitely resonated with me, not only with the way I see myself, but in the ways I’ve thought about others as well. Do you judge others based on what they look like or what size they are? Read this. Hopefully it will give you an understanding of what you are doing, not only to yourself, but to others as well.

The journaling you are asked to do throughout this book may be a struggle for many. I mean, who really wants to take a hard close look at themselves and put into writing what you love and don’t love about your body? Do it! It really does help and will create a more body positive image of yourself. You’ll see just how great you really are!

Overall, this is honestly a super fun book! The author is so conversational and real, it feels like you’re sitting down and having a conversation with your best girlfriend! I devoured this book in hours and can’t wait to read it again. And I’m looking forward to the daily affirmations…365 days of them! Yes, this book is meant to be used over a years’ time. I think my attitude toward myself will take a huge directional change over the next year thanks to this author. This book is needed and a must read for all!

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery is a book I picked up with slight hesitation – there are loads of body positivity books and self-help books out there and I was wondering what would be the difference … what would be the purpose of picking up another one that would end up collecting dust (well, digital dust in this case) … BUT I was wrong, it is actually an interactive book that will start you on a journey IF you are open to it and why wouldn’t you? You have nothing to lose … so I took the first step and started with the journaling and already the first journaling assignment was like a kick in my stomach … it was debilitating to realize where we come from and how long we have been on that destructive path … and even when I thought that I have come a long way, there is still such a long way to go …
I will be working with this book for the rest of the year like the writer hopes that we would do, as she says it is not a quick journey or change of mind set, it takes time and it takes unconditional love … I also loved the song list, I have added all those songs to my playlist AND I started my journaling in a digital journal so that I can always have an access to the entries as it lives on the cloud …
Thank you Krista Lynne Montgomery for giving us a book that goes beyond the self-help industry handbooks!

"The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your Body" is a must read for everyone. Seriously. Everyone will benefit from this book. K.L. Montgomery is an author who writes romcoms and has branched out to include this empowering body positive book. You quickly learn that K.L. (Krista Lynne) has a passion for being an author and clearly has a love for her body too. She has put them together for this book with her body positive knowledge & knocked it out of the park.

Krista is open & honest throughout the book. First, she starts off with providing an inspirational playlist. Then, she guides the reader into an intro with whys & shows for this book. She smoothly moves into journaling assignments for various topics discussed. The reader can freely take those assignments as they wish but each is impactful & powerful as you progress further into the book. Take your time. Re-read a section. Take it all in. This is your journey. Continue your journey with the daily mediations included at the end of the book too. I looked ahead...these daily mediations will allow the reader to keep the body positive thoughts alive as you move on during the year. This book will be with me throughout the year to continue my self-care as I learn to love my body more.

This is a full length novel. Filled with the most important information you must know about yourself.

A self help guide to learning to love you and your body. Something many of us could/should read. It is in no way shaming, it has nothing to do with your gender, sexuality or 'Size'. It has everything to do with YOU. A guide to improving the great YOU. The fact that you must treat yourself better for your own happiness. Was the biggest thing I took from reading this book. So buy that journal, sharpen those pencils and get ready to find the new and improved YOU!

K. L. Montgomery has written this amazing book. Based on her own life experiences. I know you will feel better about yourself, after reading and completing the suggestions given in the book. K. L. Montgomery has taken the time to write this book. Giving you the feel of someone who really understand your feelings. It is not just for fat people, it is for everyone! I plan on letting everybody know there is a book out there. That really holds the secrets to a better YOU. A must-have book! I have read many of this authors books and find this to be excellent! As it carries the secrets that every young and old woman should know about ourselves. WELL DONE!

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery is an inspiring book written in hopes of making readers come to see worth and value in the body they live in. I feel as if seeing your body in a positive manner is really important. It is so easy to go down the rabbit hole of depression and self-loathing while picking apart all the things that you see wrong with yourself. I like that this book is motivational and encouraging. I found it easy to relate too because of the personal experiences throughout the whole book. I love this author’s style of writing and I found myself giggling out loud several times. I have always loved to journal, it has always been therapeutic for me. Throughout this book there is journaling assignments, they may seem silly at first, some may be hard to do… but do them. They help so much. I will say that there were parts of the book that were slow and I struggled to keep interest, but those were far and few between. At the end of the book I’m not going to say “oh yea I LOVE MY BODY” but just like Montgomery said… it is a long process, it isn’t going to happen overnight. I will continue to work on my body image and one day I’ll get to where I’m going.

The Fat Girl’s Guide To Loving Your Body is a must read for anyone who is carrying a few extra pounds (or a lot of extra pounds) and who is unhappy with their body. As an obese, probably morbidly obese lady (yeah, I hate that term too) so much in this book spoke volumes to me. I was a chubby teen who went on my first diet at 18. I slimmed down to 8 stone for my wedding, only to go up to 16 stone later.
K.L. Montgomery is an author that I love. She doesn’t write about stick insect, Barbie doll heroines in her books. She writes about curvy ladies, ladies with bigger butts and no thigh gaps and I love her for this. In this book she writes about how we should love our bodies no matter what shape and size they are. I also love one of the mantras she used several times – you do not have to be pretty.
I loved reading her own experiences with weight issues and it really helps to know that I’m not alone, there are so many others like me out there. The assignments that she sets are very thought provoking and really make you think hard about your own thoughts and perceptions.
I really loved reading this book and think that many people would get a lot from reading this.

I'll be honest, at first I was like, 'Is this book really going to help me?' For Nearly 20 years, I've struggled with my fat and hating my own body, but, I figured I would give this an opportunity, the worst that could happen I spent some time reading a book and nothing changed. BUT, I was wrong, This was helpful, It did open my eyes, a few moments were like a good slap in your face (Think Cher and her "Schnap Out of It") I loved the journaling assignments, and even the pain and the tears some of them brought with them, but It has helped me learn to love myself, which is something I've struggled with since i was ten. I just turned 30 back in April, and I hated and loathed myself so much, missed out on so much, but this book, honestly, and K.L.'s way she writes, (and curses) spoke to me so much, to me it felt as if an older version of myself was telling me to fix things and to fix them now before I did miss out on life. I recommend this to every girl who has every struggled with loving herself and her own self image. You will not be disappointed!
5 out of 5 Stars! (I'd give it 10 if i could)

The Fat Girls Guide to Loving Your Body b K.L. Montgomery is one of those books that you experience rather than read. It is such a relatable and engaging book and it is something that I think everyone needs to read.
I was familiar with K.L. Montgomery through her romcom work and knew that her writing style was right up my street: I’m not normally one of self-help, love yourself type books however this one completely struck a cord. I don’t know if it is because of how matter of fact I found her to be or if I just happened to be in the right mindset for it but I connected with this book in a way I haven’t don’t for a long time.
I might not share all the exact same struggles as Krista but you can easily see your own life reflected in what she was saying. This book really made me look at things in a different light and want to be more positive.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough and it has already made my must read list for 2020 - it will take some doing to beat this one I think!!!

I love that the author wrote a romance novel called Fat Girl that was an intro for me to her writing. From that she now has a non-fiction book on the subject that goes beyond diet mentality, about patriarchy and misogyny, as well joirnalling exercises. Sizeism may have affected you without you knowing that it is an "ism".

She delves deeper to share her story and help you to dig into your own. It is a mental, emotional, and physical journey to loving your body as it is beyond the accepted social fat shaming for your own good BS.

I may not get past body acceptance on this first reading, but I know that this book will allow me to aim higher. It is not one that I'll be able to read once and get it. This will take me a few times to read and absorb and challenge myself.

Thanks, Krista, for offering us something beyond body positivity and showing us the way to fat acceptance and reclaiming our bodies without having to change them first or ever.

Note: I recieved an advance reading copy and I ordered the ebook.

The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery is an inspiring read. This is one of my fave romcom writers and she writes as if she is talking with a friend and telling her personal story. This is a book hitting the heavy topics of dealing with having a positive body image but with a fun side to it. She includes different journaling activities and some daily encouragement. I like that she is honest and states early on she is not a medical professional but that if work is put in that a more positive body image can be gained. We are not all size zero and we have to love ourselves in order to keep a positive lifestyle and healthy relationships. She has everything from a playlist and different ways to encourage the process. Montgomery is honest and says this is not an overnight fix but something that has to be done consistently and everyday to make a difference. I look forward to following through with this process this year and see what changes at the end of the year for myself.

I honestly really loved this book from start to finish.

I love that it starts with a playlist that is filled with songs that make you feel like a badass no matter how you look.

I love K.L. Montgomery’s style of writing, when you read it, it feels like your talking to a good friend. Ones that realistic and tells you how it is.

This book is part self help book and part writing exercise/self help journal. The book goes back and forth between a writing assignment and the thinking behind why we are exploring that certain topic.

One of my favorite chapters is titled “what is diet culture and why is it so harmful.” So be sure to check it out.

Overall the book makes for light reading but i don’t suggest spending through it. The book is intended as a workbook and you won’t do the book or yourself justice by speeding through it.

For an extra dose of awesomeness their are daily body positive meditations at the end of the book. Enough for one everyday for one year!

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery was an inspiring and emotional read. I did not know that I needed to read this book as much as I did. I started the book because the last few months I have been on this journey of self discovery and the next step seemed to be self care in regards to my body. I enjoyed all of the references and information embedded in the book. The humor throughout was a welcome relief, there are so many self help books that are just fluffy or don’t come across as genuine as this book does. I definitely want to spend the next year doing the journal entries. I did not do them the first time around because I could tell from the beginning that I needed to read this book and get the big picture before I started dissecting myself. This will become a welcome reread time and time again not just for the journal entries but for the reminders of the impact that our everyday lives have on our mental state.

The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery

5 out of 5 stars

The Fat Girls Guide to loving your body by K.L. Montgomery is a great story that contains one-part humor, one-part journal, one-part recipe for self-love. Mix it all together, and you'll come out the other side with a greater appreciation for both what's on the outside AND what's on the inside.

I have to say I was always skinny until I had my first child 29 years ago and I have had a problem with my weight ever since. I also have medical issues that seem to stop me from losing the weight especially when the doctors prescribe meds that make you gain weight So, this book really hit it dead on even if I didn’t care about body-shamers. I loved how the author talks to you as a friend and helps you with body positive knowledge that knocked it out of the ball-park.

This was a great book and I simply enjoy reading Ms. Montgomery’s work and look forward to more of her books….

The Fat Girls Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery is a book you need to read. Although this book is primarily a body positive book it can be about anything in yourself that you have decided you do not like. Ms. Montgomery points out in this book how that is a “choice”. Of course, we all want to say…well that’s easy to say but how do you do it. What are the mechanics of making a different choice? In this book Ms. Montgomery takes you on a journey that will lead you into learning how to do that. She teaches you the mechanics if you are listening with your heart and mind. The language is a little rough at times, but I think it reflects a very real person that is talking to you in a very real way. Not dressed up and all Grammarly but plain and simple, and down and dirty. I feel like it reflects the heart of someone who has a very real desire to help people find out where happiness can be found. Let K.L. Montgomery show you how you are so much more “than the sum of your parts.”

This is a book that I enjoyed reading. I loved the author’s wit and how she tackles the issues that are faced by those who are not happy with their body. This is a book that made me take a hard look at how I see and think about myself. The author gives advice and tackles many issues regarding how you see your body and how to love yourself. I loved that the author used her own personal experiences. I have struggled with my weight since childhood, so this book had me thinking back over the years and how I found that others shaped how I thought of my body. Many of my experiences have been negative. I found this book to be uplifting and a guide in choosing to be happy with my body. It is a book I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn to love their body. Highly recommended.

This is a book that can be used over and over. I like the journaling and daily affirmations she has included. Its much more of a work-book to be a better me. I feel this is not just a book for fat people. It’s really for anyone with body shaming issues. Yes it leans toward helping overweight people but much of this is really for anyone.

I like the honesty written in this book. If ever I was wondering if what a certain body part was doing what it was supposed to....I found out in here. Or if I was the only one thinking this negative thought...I found out in here I am not alone. The author shares her personal stories and journey with the readers as well as tidbits and helpful links.

The words flow very nicely making this easy and fun to read. I think a lot of people will benefit from this book. As I was reading I was making a mental list myself of people I could gift it too.

This is another MUST READ for everyone by K.L Montgomery. It is not the same as her other books but I love it just the same. Her body positivity message comes through loud and clear in this one. This book is not just for overweight people, any one with body issues (that means everyone) can be helped from this book. It will not solve your issues overnight but it will certainly give you plenty to think about. Everyone has issues with the way they look at and feel about their body. This book will help you to change the way you think and help you deal with the peer-pressures and shaming that occurs when you don’t look exactly the way society says you should. I especially love the fact that it is written from the point of view of someone who has dealt with a lot of the same issues and she gives some personal insights that can be very helpful. Thank you for writing this one!!!!
