Shifter Dads #4

The Dragon's Pregnant Mate

Rate this book
She’s pregnant, in danger, and thinks she’s alone.

He’s going to prove her wrong.

Lawyer and lioness, Elizabeth is used to making her own way and solving her own problems. That’s what she did with her corrupt pack leader: he’s going to jail, and she made it happen, because she wanted a better world for her unborn child. But the repercussions could be deadly.

Dragon shifter Malachi is dedicated to keeping his town—and his teenaged daughter—safe from invading lions, hostile dragon clans, and anything else that might turn up. Oak Ridge and Hayley are his world, and he never thought he’d want anything more.

But when Elizabeth appears in town, sick and exhausted and fiercely brave, she changes his world.

Malachi, Hayley, and Oak Ridge are all radically different from the life Elizabeth had pictured for herself. Instead of a lonely apartment in the city, there’s a protective and loving mate, a family, and a whole community surrounding her. But can Malachi keep her safe from Victor’s henchmen? And can they stand strong together when a new threat appears?

The Dragon’s Pregnant Mate is a standalone dragon shifter romance full of action, passion, family, and community. No cliffhangers!

Practice makes perfect
This series just keeps getting better. I love that another of our favorite townsfolk have found their mate. And I’m just so happy that it’s my favorite vigilante lawyer. It’s terrible that she had to go through so much while pregnant, but the author really did a fantastic job of bringing her hardships to life within the pages of the book. I think you will enjoy seeing these two find the way to their HEA. I am really excited to see what happens next.

Not surprising that Elizabeth's actions were found out by the pack and she had to run to Oak Ridge. Everyone in town is genuinely nice, so of course they all stepped up to help. What was interesting was how Elizabeth was a bit freaked out by it, how in her life, nice was not to be expected. I liked how Malachi and Hayley stepped to give Elizabeth a place to stay, to make her see the doctor, to get the rest she needed in the first few days. Better was when Malachi and Elizabeth realized they were mates and what that meant to their lives. The big "battle" at the end was funny. I liked how Malachi whipped some red dragon butt, put the person in their place, which human law no less and how Elizabeth threw out all the humans laws that were broken. Nice to see a unified front from the new couple!

Exceptional

Truly amazing. Love the flow of the story. Elizabeth after bringing down her pack leader is confronted by a pack enforcer and her baby's father had to fler and seek shelter in Oak Ridge. Malachi single father and sheriff is busy keeping his town safe. Takes in Elizabeth and offered her protection, found out they are mates. Now the stake is higher in keeping her protected from her ex but also from other outside threats.

Sweet short read. I have read all the books in this series so far and love them all. This is Malachi 's story with Elizabeth. Elizabeth was Victor's attorney but after finding out how evil he is, she works to bring him down. Ousted from the pack and running from her ex, Elizabeth finds her mate, in Malachi. Filled with some brief action, some loving, makes for a great read! 3.5 stars****

Stronger Together!!!

Elizabeth Montgomery, former attorney of the Leone's Pack whom we've met in the previous book did everything in her power to make sure her former boss, her former pack leader, Victor Leone got what was coming to him after what he and his family had done. When she finally told the father of her child (Nevin) about the pregnancy. She found herself in danger, so she turned to Lila for help

Malachi Cohen, a Dragon shifter and sheriff of Oak Ridge got a call from Flynn ( THE GOLDEN GRIFFIN'S BABY ) to let him know that Elizabeth was in town. He decided to go and talk to her, he never expected to find what he did when he left his teenage daughter Haley to do her Saturday business.

Hayley offered Liz to stay with her and her dad, the latter agreed especially after he realized that she was expecting but there was also another reason why. He'd never acted so protectively about any woman other than his daughter. His Dragon wanted to spend more time with their new guest.

As the three of them got to know each other better, the bond between them grew stronger. Liz didn't feel so alone anymore, she had people watching her six and vice versa. Her ex threatened her but just like his boss, he underestimated the bond the Oak Ridge community shared with her.

It was great to see how safe Liz felt with Malachi...he calmed her in ways she never thought anyone could. They complimented each other, when they realized that they were mates what a emotional and wonderful gift it's been for them.

THE DRAGON'S PREGNANT MATE is the fourth book in Zoe Chant's SHIFTER DADS series. What a delightful, enticing and marvelous ride. 5++++

Malachi and Elizabeth - a swoony shifter romance

It was beautiful and heart warming to watch two people who have given up on having a loving long term relationship discover that sometimes fate gives you things you never realized were possible. Malachi is a single father of a teenager and the sheriff is the shifter friendly town of Oak Ridge. Elizabeth is a lion shifter and the former lawyer for a violent lion shifter clan who collected evidence to take down the leadership. Elizabeth runs to Oak Ridge when her actions are discovered by the father of her unborn baby. Malachi and Elizabeth are true mates which they discover once they interact in person. The book is fairly low angst and has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, a bit of steam, a small amount of danger, strong friendships, strong families, supportive townspeople, and painful pasts. The book was well written and included three dimensional characters who grow and an engaging story line. While this is a standalone romance, the series has an overarching storyline and is best read in order. I am excited to read the final book in the series.

This is a sweet shifter romance (but it does have steamy scenes), with a likable couple. I liked both Malachi and Elizabeth a lot. Malachi was just a sweetheart -- I loved that he was such a good dad to his daughter, and that he was OK with being a dad for Elizabeth's baby, too. I liked Elizabeth, too, especially how she had worked so hard (which put her in a great deal of danger) to bring down such an evil man. I liked Malachi's daughter Hayley, too.

I also liked that the whole town came together to protect Elizabeth. They have helped other people in the earlier books in this series, too. What a great town, and a caring group of people. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

One problem I have with all of Zoe Chant's series is that there is so long between books. Lots of times I have to go back and reread some of the earlier books in a series, simply because it has been so long that I don't remember all the characters. That is frustrating. I know that Zoe Chant is actually several different authors, and that one person writes all the books for a series -- but I wish the books in a series could be published closer together.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

This is my first read from this particular Zoe series. I will definitely have remedy that. I thought it was amazing! It read well as a standalone also. This small town sheriff takes his responsibilities to protect those around him seriously. When Elizabeth comes to town seeking a safe place, his instincts have him doubling his efforts. He immediately feels the need to be the one to provide that for her. Along with the help of his teenage daughter. He quickly finds himself growing attached to her. The idea of a place safe for shifters to live happily was unbelievable for Elizabeth. People that help and look out for one another, show genuine concern. It went against everything she has ever known. Not only did circumstance lead her there, she also finds her forever mate. And that just might be a push to far. Nothing good ever comes her way. Maybe between Malachi's patience and faith, he can persuade her they have a future. A wonderfully written story with the perfect mix of what we all look for in PNR. A main couple that complete each other. A balance of action and romance. Great secondary characters. Even a bit of humor. But most importantly, a HEA. I will definitely read the previous books after enjoying this. I am voluntarily leaving this review of an advanced copy I received. That did not affect my opinion. It is completely my own.

Another great book from one of my favourite authors. The Dragon’s Pregnant Mate is the fourth book in Zoe Chant’s Shifter Dads series. It is a suspenseful, action filled romance with great characters that have to learn to work and love each other in order to find their happily ever after.

Malachi, the hero, was introduced to readers earlier in the series as the sheriff of Oak Ridge. Readers met Elizabeth in book three, as the lawyer who helped bring Victor to justice. Malachi and Elizabeth meet for the first time when she comes to Oak Ridge after fleeing Leosville in fear for her life and that of her unborn child. Instantly, they are drawn together, and Malachi will do anything to prove to Elizabeth that fairytales and happily ever afters do come true. But can he keep his family and town safe when new enemies start circling? Read it and find out! I can’t wait to read more about this series. There are still a lot of single shifters in Oak Ridge who need mates.

Not a great read, I found the first half just okay the second half slightly better.
Not a great fan of Elizabeth but didn’t dislike her.
Malachi, I just love the name, was a very likeable character. His interactions with his daughter Hayley were sweet.
Not quite sure about this shifter world, act way too human really. As obviously proven by Malachi having been married and divorced.
Do they not believe in or wait for fated mates?
The fact they can change into animals is the only thing that makes them non-human.
Also in chapter 15, Nevin, the horrible ex and baby father, crashed through the house in lion form, obviously damaged the furniture in the house, but when Elizabeth and Malachi come home they go straight to the bedroom for sex. Nothing is ever said about any damage or putting the room to rights.
Have read the first three books but really cannot remember the characters.
Read through Kindle Unlimited.

The Dragon’s Pregnant Mate Shifter Dads, #4
By Zoe Chant
Kindle unlimited purchase
Malachi is a single father to a teenage daughter. When he meets Elizabeth for the first time he has to take her under his wing and protect her and the best way to do that is to take her back to his place.
Elizabeth has more to protect than just herself, she is pregnant but she couldn't let that stop her from what she knew she had to do. She had to stop Victor and save her friend Lila in the process. So she turned him in and now she is on the run. Who does she run to? Oak Ridge and the dragons.
I have enjoyed this series each book has it's own HEA and can be read in any order but I recommend reading them in order that way you already know the characters from the previous books when they show up.

good series so far

Some inconsistencies this is what happens when you don’t reread the last book you wrote ,before starting a new book in series you mis details like, in last book Lila tells Elizabeth they have an extra room and even the mayors sewing room suggesting Elizabeth could live with her and even stay until she has the baby. Hinting the sewing room could be converted to a nursery. Yet .. in this book Lila is suggesting Elizabeth sleep in he daughters room

Elizabeth ends up on the couch instead. And the beginning of book it’s so crowded in the tiny house .. when in the last two books the house was big and roomy.
And btw
Zoe. You do know that thanksgiving is on Thursday not Friday right? So why are you talking about thanksgiving dinner on thanksgiving Friday… no such thing that Black Friday As thanksgiving is Thursday

Another great book by Zoe Chant

There is something about this story that really wins me over.  This is part of the Shifter Dads series, and just like all the other books in the series, there is something so wholesome about it.  We have  Elizabeth, a pregnant lioness shifter that in doing the right thing and trying to protect her unborn cub is now alone and in danger, on the other side, we have the Sheriff Malachi, whose job is to protect his town, and he owes Elizabeth for her help, but when he sees her in danger, he also becomes her protector.
Is so sweet to see these two get together, Elizabeth's doubts and fears, and Malachi's loyalty and concerns.  This is a book that leaves you with a good feeling, that makes you smile, and leaves you wanting more.

Elizabeth finds her family

Love Malachi and Hayley. Their relationship is how every father and daughter relationship should be. Respectful, loving, helpful and wonderful to watch grow. Elizabeth got off pretty easy considering all she did to Victor. Malachi deserves to find his mate. The fact that Elizabeth had problems accepting it at first was a tad strange. Don't like seeing the direction this series is going with the red dragons. Guess there just has to be drama. I like the town they created and do not understand why the red dragons need to bother them. I do not like violence and I can see that is where this series is headed. I can't wait to find out what sex the baby is.

Just keeps getting better!

I have to admit that I LOVE Zoe Chant books! I look for a new one every time I go to Amazon. I liked what I saw of Elizabeth in the previous story. Of course, I loved Malachi and Hayley and hoped that they would get their happy ever after. She is such a cute teenager, that of course she needed to be on board with the whole thing.

This story has a fast pace, a hopeful tone and a character oriented storyline with some action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and complex. You can start with this story, if you have never read anything by Zoe Chant. However, you would get much more out of it, if you read this series in order, and you are in luck as books 1-3 are available in a box set according to the afterward! Enjoy!

💢 A Blockbuster, this is phenomenal !! Definitely a Must Read!!

🔹️Elizabeth is a LionessShifter plus a very good lawyer whose has been put in spot. Her pack thinks she is a traitor is she?
🔹️Malachi is a Black DragonShifter who has feeling he’s never had before. They all stand around this pregnant lawyer who has run for her life and he sees no other way but to protector her. Why is that?
☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Elizabeth turned state evidences against her pack leader.
Now, she is pregnant and on the run.
She seeks refuge in Oak Ridge.
Malachi did not know why he had this feeling that he must "protect" Elizabeth.
One thing was for sure, his dragon was adamant that Elizabeth belonged with them.
When danger comes, they better be prepared to deal with a dragon protecting his mate.
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Awesome!!!

Well I can't get enough of these shifters of Oak Ridge, they band together and fight for their rights..but can you believe that idiot red dragon, where has he been coming to challenge a law man..oh wow as Ronan said there will be more red dragons coming out of the woodwork to challenge to take over Oak Ridge..but they have a rude awakening if they think Oak Ridge citizens will stand for that..Now on to the next book in this series..can't wait big fan as always Winzie19☺💞.

This is a great continuation of the series, building up characters we've met before as minor players into rounded stars of their own story. I really enjoyed how these fated mates were still allowed to get to know each other at least a bit before compulsion came into play, and how some of the potential criticisms of the series universe (the good guys being too good to be true) was addressed.

I think this would stand alone, but I highly recommend reading this series in order.

Sheriff finds a mate

Lovely story of the female lawyer that took down the lion pack alpha. Loved the Sheriff and his daughter dynamic. Would have loved to know more of the first wife relationship.
One part that confused me was the red dragon storyline. By now in the series they all knew about one in area. It is illogical that Roman or the town would have not sent request for meeting with his Father or another family member to get info in a neutral area.

All of these books

I can't believe how good of a writer you are. I have read over 15 of your books, and every time I finish one, I can hardly wait to get attached to another one. Your books have that home like quality. They are wonderful. Even the bad guys play their parts so well. I absolutely LOVE all of your books. I have 2 more in this series, and then I will be moving on to the next great stories. Thank you. I see you.

A Great Series

I'm totally loving this series. I haven't read them in order. All mixed up. So excited to get the first two books that I almost completely forgot to do the review. I never have done that before. There is a trifle bit of sexual content. A very exciting series. A big thank you to the author.

Dragon 's pregnant mate

Elizabeth just got her x-pack leader out in jail and as she heads to her car is accosted by her baby daddy who caused her to quickly jump into her car and drive. She ends up in a small shifter town and ends up staying with the sheriff and his daughter. The sparks fly and romance is in the air.

The book started amazingly good, I was really in love with the characters and rooting for the couple. On the long run, however, I got a little tired of the story and overall pace, since it was so similar to the other books. I will read the next one but am hoping it changes a little bit of the formula.

Dragon’s Pregnant Mate

The lady lawyer presented the appropriate authorities with the evidence to put one malicious malefactor away. End of story. Right? Nope! Her mean malevolent baby daddy is still on the loose, determined to carry on the vicious vendetta against the lovely lady and the shifter town that stands up for persistent peaceful but strong inter-species relations.

One Masculine Manly Man!

The Dragon’s Pregnant Mate is an exciting read. Elizabeth is a pregnant lawyer escaping a dangerous situation. Malachi is the massive, honorable, single parent who develops “heart eyes” for her. A thrilling read with laugh out loud moments. (Five year old Sophia steals whatever chapters she is in!!!!)
