Standing in the line at the post office when she sees her picture on the wall--under the FBI's 10 Most Wanted...

Megan is a bright, young psychiatric nurse who takes a package to the USPO to mail for her boss. Waiting in line, she happens to glance at the FBI Wanted posters. Only to find--she's wanted, too! The chase is on. Who could that possibly be in the poster if not her? And the name on the poster is her own name. She puts on sunglasses and a hat and sneaks back inside when no one's there. She studies the picture. Even the mole on the corner of her mouth is the same. And the small patch of scaly skin she can't make go away. It's all there.

She doesn't know where to reach out for help. She returns to the psych hospital where she works. Dr. Bedoni says the FBI was just there looking for her. Frantically, she places a call to a disabled detective she knows. The detective doesn't know much except she does have the name and number of a lawyer. His name is Thaddeus Murfee.

Join Megan and Thaddeus and Turquoise and Christine in San Diego. Take a front row seat as Thaddeus races against time to find out who exactly is responsible for the crimes the FBI is after Megan about. The area is fun, exciting, vibrant, all SoCal--and deadly.

Not worth your time

I think I've read Ellsworth before. Don't remember thinking I shouldn't read another. But this book is about as 'simple' and bland they come. Weak plot, boring characters, an unthrilling ending. And never one mention of a post office! I wonder if the title and the body were switched with another Ellsworth book? Very juvenile in presentation, as in good for a younger reader. Oh well. I read a Tim Tigner just before this. Much more sophisticated style of writing.

Post office

Well, this story was cra-cra. I am at a loss at the great reviews. One reviewer nailed it. I have read this entire series and thoroughly enjoyed it. This one felt disjointed to me.

Not up to expectations

I have read and enjoyed a number of this authors books. This one however was very disappointing. Poor topics and even more boring story lines. Really reaching. No recommendation from me.

a very touching story with hope, highly recommend

Wow, what a thriller. It definitely held my attention. But it saddens me because Rachel illness represents so many people and what they have to endure dealing with this horrible illness. The pain and suffering is nothing but torture. This storyline may trigger a lot of readers who either experience this personal or have a love one who did. I had a 2 love one that succumbed to this. I never say the word because it makes me sad and I still cry. So, I don’t have much to say about this topic. Johann had me going for a while. I still don’t understand his motives with Rachel. I think he had some mental issues going on. I wonder how his mother feels towards him. So, Turquoise finally spreads her wings and finds interest in the opposite sex. Good for her, she’s getting old. Thaddeus is so smart and he knows his law. I love when he cross examined a witness. Well, I’m glad everything worked out for the Sundstroms. They were living kind of on the rocky side for a while.

Thaddeus Murfee tries to help a teenage girl. This is a sensitive issue. It was handled with compassion. Will the young lady get her wish? What would you do?
Johann goes to the post office and sees an FBI poster with his picture and name on it. He hasn't committed a crime. How did this happen? He's terrified. He doesn't know what to do. How is he going to get this cleared up? Will somebody see him and turn him in? Who should he talk to? Will he be able to prove he didn't do anything wrong? There is suspense, intrigue, sorrow, compassion. Characters are fleshed out, plot is well constructed, story is well written as it always is. I didn't want to put this book down.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author, and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.

Great novel

Learned a lot about how people in extreme pain with little hope of recovery might wish to end there life and of the effect it has on others who love that person. Really felt sympathy for the person with the life threatening illness and the pain they go through. The author does a great job of story telling, much better than some authors that try to overly shock and scare their readers and/or write over complicated scenarios. Always enjoyed this author’s books and look forward to his next one. As an aside if any one reading this review could tell me in which book Thaddeus marries Christine as this maybe the one book I missed reading somehow. In any case, as usual a great novel to read.

You Wont Want to Stop Reading

I’m always excited for a new Addition to the Murphee series and this one did not disappoint. The two main themes- end of life decisions and radical Islam- couldn’t be more timely or relevant. Nor could the outcomes of the two story lines.

Ellsworth’s writing is concise and to the point. He is not enamored with multiple adjectives as are many current writers. Characters and story lines matter: not so number of words. The references to Michael Grisham, his other series, is a wry touch.

I was hooked from the opening page. Keep them coming, Mr Ellsworth. Love the Murphee family and timely topics.

Disappointing

I'm a huge fan of John Ellsworth and Thaddeus Murfee. This book is all over the place. It combines two stories that, with the right research could have been outstanding on their own.
The case against Becca did not include any mention of fingerprint evidence which seemed a convenient way for Ellsworth to let Thaddeus win the case.
The case for moving Rachel to Oregon was flawed with a lack of facts about Oregon's residency laws, particularly regarding disabled residents.
This book just felt like it was written overnight to meet a deadline, without real thought to the details.

So happy to have spent Saturday afternoon and a bit of Sunday finishing John Ellsworth newest release. I am glad that Thaddeus Murfee and Michael Gresham have a connection and the possibility for collaboration seems forthcoming for our favorite characters. This is a story of beliefs, religion, love and compassion set in the midst of discord and pain faced everyday by many people suffering fatal illnesses. Fear not, Thaddeus saves the day, with a little help from the family. Realistically coupled with FBI intrigue and terrorist activity... The Post Office will keep you safe and sound during the Covid19 pandemic, stay home and read!

Another great Thaddeus story

This is a great story about a young woman and all she goes through to survive or not. She wants to end her life, however is not at an age that allows end of life in California. Here comes Thaddeus to her rescue. Moving her to another state where she has to establish residency in order to end her life. There is a shady character who does try to end her life and is not successful. Due to new radiation therapy, she ends up in remission! The character Johann is the shady character who Thaddeus puts away. A great read and highly recommended!

At first glance it wouldn't seem that a young man wanted by the FBI and a young woman who wants the right to die would be connected but they are. Johann goes to mail a package and finds himself on a FBI Top 10 wanted poster. Rachel is a 17 year old with terminal cancer who doesn't have the right to die due to California requiring a person be at least age 21. Thaddeus gets called on in both cases and the two characters end up meeting as Johann is a nurse. You won't want to put the book down until you get to the conclusion.

Thaddeus Murfee suspense

Another great novel by John Ellsworth. Thaddeus is hired to defend an FBI agent’s son when he is accused of blowing him up in a meeting in Mexico. He is also defending a friend’s daughter who wants to end her life due to a prolonged illness with no light at the end of the tunnel. The book started a little slow, but picked up and I didn’t want to put it down. And what a surprise ending! Did he or didn’t he?

I also liked how Marcel from the Michael Grisham series was brought into it and look forward to reading more.

Lousy

There is not an an admirable character in the book. The author wrote this to express his views on assisted suicide. Perhaps Ellsworth is burned out. Religious convictions are presented as the enemy of reason and compassion. There is little of legal interest in the two cases Murfee is engaged in, one never gets to trial and the other is a juvenile case where the prosecutor comes to trial with little more than weak circumstantial evidence. If you like courtroom drama, you will not find it here.

Always a well written, exciting read!

I finished reading just about all of his Murfee books and I’m looking forward to reading all of his 30 some other books.Of all his books that I’ve read, I know you can depend on a well told story plus several different mysteries going on at the same time - which really keep your attention focused. I hope you enjoy his books as much as I am enjoy reading them.

Exceptional book!

The latest Thaddeus Murder book is everything a reader of this exceptional series could hope to read! The author kept this reader riveted to every page, every sentence, every word. This book is tightly plotted and kept me up most of the night. Sleep is overrated. John Ellsworth's writing is not. Highly recommend this book. When you finish it, go back to the beginning and read the entire series.

Riveting

The right to end ones life is the question before Thaddeus as he takes on a teen who wants to end her life, but her parents are against it. Ellsworth keeps the plot thickening as they enter uncharted waters. Then he added to the drama I having the young lady, Rachel, falling in love with her make nurse.
Is he really in love with Rachel what does he have an ulterior motive?

Great book about a sensitive issue

As always a great read and a little different from other Thaddeus Murphee books. Ellsworth handles a sensitive issue with fact and compassion and still loads on the intrigue and suspense. I was thrilled to see Michael Gresham in the same book. I recommend this book and give it 5 stars. I hated for it to end. Waiting for the next book!

Not what they seem

This author is one of my favorites and this book did not disappoint. Well constructed and intricate storyline involving my favorite lawyer, family members and a plot that kept me guessing till the end and beyond. Every time Marcel shows up, life goes into the beyond. Exciting and full of tension, I hope there is more coming.

Another great Thaddeus novel

I have read all of the Thaddeus Murphee series and love the character. This one did not disappoint! Thaddeus gets involved with two very different clients and helps solve their issues as only he can. When their paths cross he remains a lawyer and friend, doing everything possible to keep his one client safe and the other in check.

Exceptional

I am amazed once again. The suspense and characters are so good. The story put together to keep the reader tied to the book till the end.
I didn't want it to end.
I have read all the Murphy as Gresham books as cannot get enough.
Thanks John and keep them coming!

Wow, this book was a dreamer, I had to take my time and read it, because it was compiled of love, suspense and healing. I can say to John that you did it again, you knocked it out the water, you have a wide and expanse mind of making people putting themselves in the book itself. It sure was a great, but my one fault is that it was too short.💖

What a ride!

I'm in a stay-at-home state for the third month, so I've had the time to get through all the Thaddeus Murder books. This one tops them all, I'd say. Much intrigue. It's a pleasure to greet returning characters like old friends. There are two stories going on, but they mesh in several ways. I'm curious to find out what becomes of Turquoise.

Greatly enjoyed this entry in the series. Besides what I wrote earlier about being happy to see the cross over of characters from the Michael Gresham series, this had a satisfying ending to a gripping story line. Some delicate subjects (to some) are covered, such as assisted suicide and the rights of minors in end of life decisions, so be prepared!

Different

This book was different than the authors usual books....at least I think so. It was a dark read and depressing at times....actually, most of the time. I was not pleased with the quick ending. It left too many unanswered questions. I am glad I finished this book but I don’t want to read another like it.

Please don’t tell me this is the last book about Thaddeus Murfreesboro!

Wow, this one ended with not one surprise but two. I don’t want the series to end. I plan to start reading the Michael Gresham series that is introduced at the end of this book but that doesn’t make me want to leave this series! Please, Mr. Ellsworth!

Mr. Ellsworth is AMAZING!

I chose 5 stars because the only reason I put this book down is that I fell asleep, and NOT from boredom! I have read other books by Mr. Ellsworth in the past but none as riveting as this one! From the first few sentences I was hooked!

Thank you, Mr. Ellsworth, for providing readers with such entertainment!

That was close!

This was a book that had you suspicious but also had you hoping. Never give up because you never know. That includes relationships, falling in love, finding the right person. It also includes life and what you're doing with it. It also includes killer diseases and cancers. Make the most of every day,!

Hallelujah!

Absolutely worth waiting for. And not one typo. Lol I loved the story, especially in Chapter ten. But felt rushed near the end. Like maybe you should have just made the story longer. As usual, highly recommended.
