Omg so good!!

Oh my gosh!!!! This book is like,so good!!! Especially when the cat, (goosefeather) saw Mapleshade, because she is SO BAD, and he saw what she did to the cat, and it was cool when he saw Pinestar becoming a kitty's, and all the prophecies to come? AWESOME!!!!!

Zdecydowanie polecam :D

Edit: jednak 5 gwiazdek to za dużo.

The novellas go by so much faster than the super editions, or series books! I felt the story was sort of rushed with that small amount of time, and I would have liked to see goosefeather when he got older, and help deliver some first arc characters. Otherwise it was a great concept and refreshing to have a new “power” unlike reusing some that have been in the series before. I can’t wait to read the next!

Goosefeather's Curse is a book describing the turbulent past of Goosefeather, the grumpy ThunderClan medicine cat who makes a debut in Bluestar's Prophecy.

I found this book very interesting. I really like how Goosefeather was characterized in this book and how the storyline flowed. It cleared up a lot of confusion in the Warriors series. For example, it gives us an answer as to why Moonflower was given her warrior name later than Goosefeather, and I like how we got to see Sunstar and his brother as kits.

The only thing that really made me disappointed was how the book contained so many errors regarding to the series. For example, Hawkheart was said to be a warrior before he became a medicine cat - which isn't shown to be true in this book. Also, the author claimed earlier that Pinestar was the cat to succeed Oakstar, which is false in this book, as he succeeded Doestar. These errors cause a lot of frustration and confusion among readers who are Warriors fans. I felt like this book had way too many of them. It was also really fast paced, but that is just a personal opinion. It should've been a super edition with more content to look through.

This was a great book, overall. However, the author really needs to stop making so many errors - it causes way too much confusion.

Warriors is my favorite series, and I was very excited when I learned that there would be a book focused on Goosefeather, the eccentric and (slightly) insane medicine cat of ThunderClan, as well as Bluestar's uncle. Goosefeather's Curse just... fell flat. It consists mainly of Goosefeather complaining about
and how he was apprenticed at the age of four moons, and given his full medicine cat name when he was only around 6 to 8 moons old. Goosefeather's Curse also makes almost no sense from a timeline standpoint. Hawkheart, WindClan medicine cat, who also was clearly stated to be a warrior before a medicine cat apprentice, was shown as a medicine cat apprentice but not with his warrior name.
I always assumed that Goosefeather hated Stormtail because he was arrogant and ignored his kits, which is a legitimate reason to hate him. But no, he hates Stormtail because he thinks Stormtail lured a badger to attack him. All he does in his own book is whine.
Additionally, the second rule in Code of the Clans has cats in it from Mapleshade's Vengeance and has SKYCLAN in it, even though Mapleshade's Vengeance takes place a few years (give or take) before Goosefeather's Curse. Unless Code of Clans isn't written in chronological order, then SkyClan should still be in the forest.
And make sure you read Mapleshade's Vengeance BEFORE you read Goosefeather's Curse, as GC contains a MAJOR SPOILER FOR MV

One of the best warrior cats novels. Interesting, stunning, it was really hard to take breaks while reading. And I had a lot of work to do so I had to! The message that we can't change the future no matter how much we want really gets under your skin. It's not just simple dealing with super powers and destiny. It's an allegory of our daily struggles hidden under the light story about cats living in the forest. This particular novel as far as I'm concerned is about wanting to change the future of people that we care about so that they can avoid mistakes that we are aware of. And understanding that is a big part of growing up.

This was my return to the Warrior Cats serie as a high school student. Now I definitely see it different than in Primary School when I was literally obsessed with it. What amaze me is that despite the whole character development that I had since that time, the Warrior cats serie is still an enjoyable read for me.

So suming up I know that the Warrior Cats serie has it's ups and downs and there are some issues with it like the whole "Spottedleaf's heart" debate. But this book is definitely Erin Hunter at her best. Must read for any long time fans!

Nie no super

Very very short, not the length I remember it being, I’ll probably have to re-read Bluestar’s Prophecy to read the other bits that I remember of Goosefeather.

Goosefeather is honestly one of my favorite Warriors characters, so I’m happy I decided to re-read it. His story is so sad, but this novel is too short to truly show the horror of his curse.

gesie pióro wiele przeszedł i ma mega ciekawy dar, kocham go i tę książkę.

Podchodząc do tej opowieści miałam podejście typu, hehe chory psychicznie kot
A skończyłam ją z ogromnym niedosytem.

Did Erin Hunter even try??
‘Short story’... because everyone is supposed to know what the thunderclan even is?

This story went so fast. On a page a cat is sick, and two sentences later he’s dead.
There also appeared to be a famine that was so severe that it was already over after three pages? 🤔
Or the ending... what ending?
Ghoosefeather is even worse: ‘I am the only cat who can see the furure, so I’m better than everyone else!’ Djeez...

This is such a disappointment in comparison to the actual series.

Premise: Ever since he was a young kit, Goosefeather has been able to see things that other cats can't. He can see deceased cats that look very much alive, and he has startlingly vivid visions of the future. This causes him to be misunderstood by ThunderClan and, at times, his own family. Even when he becomes a medicine cat apprentice, Goosefeather's mentor, Cloudberry, doesn't seem to realize how truly unique he is, nor just how great the burden on his shoulders is. How will Goosefeather cope with the gift he views as a curse?

Story/Writing: I thought this was a very interesting and – for lack of a better word – unusual novella. We've all seen various characters in fiction who have foresight or can somehow speak to the dead. But how many stories truly explore what it would be like to have both abilities – to see people (or cats, in this case) no one else can, and awful visions that come true no matter how hard you try to change them? When I first read this novella, I noticed that it was kind of paced more slowly than some of the others I've read so far in this series. But I think it fits. This isn't so much an action/adventure type story as it is a character study. Not every character has to be in the thick of battle or even know how to fight. If anything, Goosefeather carries a burden heavier than any his Clanmates will. Not to mention, this wasn't something he asked for. That all said, I really liked the way this story was written. It was like I was seeing it all happen before my eyes – which I guess was the point since Goosefeather has plenty of visions.

Characters: One big plus for me was that most of the characters who appear in this novella were also featured in the last one I read, "Pinestar's Choice." Not that "Cloudstar's Journey" and "Mapleshade's Vengeance" were bad when it came to that. Far from it! It's just nice to once again read about characters I'm already familiar with – for the most part. And this story did a really good job giving more weight to these cats than they had before.

Goosefeather: The more I let it sink in, the more I realized this novella really did put me inside this character's head. I really felt for Goosefeather. I know what it's like to be different and be seen as weird, viewing certain traits as pointless and wishing you could just be normal. Not only that – this is a cross he must bear alone, and even his mentor often doesn't seem to understand how much of a weight it is. Maybe not crushingly heavy but certainly more than I think most medicine cats have had to deal with. He can see cats not only from StarClan but apparently the Dark Forest as well! More on that later, though. As I wrote earlier, you have to wonder what it's like to really see the future, knowing for certain that you're visions will come to pass and you can't do anything about it. Most people I suspect wouldn't be able to stand it – I certainly wouldn't. Yet Goosefeather never seems to give in to despair. Even as he cries out to StarClan, demanding to know why he was given this curse of a gift, from what I read, he never loses faith in them. And I think that proves Pearnose's point – bittersweet though it is – that Goosefeather is there to remind the cats that StarClan still cares and has not abandoned them.

Cloudberry, Doestar, and Pineheart: I'd like to focus on these three because they seemed to be the only ones who truly had faith in Goosefeather. If anything, considering he starts his apprenticeship and then receives his medicine cat name at such an early age, they have to take him seriously. Even though they may not have fully understood him, I like that they tried. Cloudberry sometimes felt a bit dismissive to me, until I realized she was simply trying to work with the knowledge she was given. Doestar and Pineheart as well I thought were great. I like seeing more of Pinestar's time as a deputy, and Doestar seemed like a kind, just, and wise ruler who took time to consider her choices before making a decision.

Various Other Characters: Despite her occasionally rude behavior toward Goosefeather, I did like Moonpaw, who later becomes Moonflower. If nothing else, I thought it was pretty cool that they were siblings, because Moonflower eventually gives birth to Bluestar – which would make Goosefeather the latter's uncle. Moving on, I found it intriguing that the novella never answered the question of whether or not Stormtail intended to kill him. I liked that ThunderClan didn't reject Goosefeather, even if they did view him as weird. And last but certainly not least, I loved how Mapleshade showed up for the first time since her death. Brief though her scenes might've been, she's probably my favorite villain in the series so far!

Overall: On the whole this was a very fascinating read. The slow pace and lack of action in terms of intense battles might not do it for some – but every now and then, I like to read stories that take their time. I liked the way it delved into Goosefeather's dilemma and how his predicament affected ThunderClan's perception of him. In fact, it's kind of a good commentary about the stigma surrounding mental illness and the like. If you're looking for something that's rather deep for a novella written toward middle-schoolers, then I'd definitely say check it out!

Although this was pleasant enough reading there was little story with the total focus on one 'gift' which Goosefeather had which in fact he viewed as a curse. I believe this novella form is largely not suited to my reading style with my preference being the arcs and super editions.

It's so funny that Goosefeather is born with this unusual power for no reason. Why is he just like that? I guess in Warriors, prophecies and the like are always true, so nothing Goosefeather does will change what he sees. What is the point?

Ever since we first met Goosefeather, I wondered what could turn a medical cat so bad he'd end up in the Dar Forest. This is an exiting and original story that makes you feel sorry for Goosefeather. StarClan gave him an amazing gift... So increidible, it became his curse.
