Having finally encountered a dragon god, what will it take for FAIRY TAIL to come out on top against this other-worldly power? Or even protect themselves against its fiery wrath? As Natsu and the gang wrestle with forces beyond their grasp, they learn that the enemies before them may not be exactly who they seem, and the task they've been given may not be as simple as merely slaying dragons...
Again, it's fun, but I'm starting to sense that there's just that lil something missing in this sequel that made the original series so loveable. Regardless, this is enjoyable with quite a few comedic moments, action, and a lot for those who are fans of Nalu and/or Gruvia to chew on. Fairy Nail got a chuckle out of me, even though it's reminiscent of the Edolas arc which served a far greater narrative purpose. The series is going along nicely, but it's yet to live up to the original.
Volume 3 of the Fairy Tail: 100 years quest series took a few certainly interesting turns and I’m so keen to see how they turn out! We still follow the main gang in their quest, and we meet some interesting characters along the way. This volume I felt introduced us to some potentially antagonist characters without going into that any more, and it makes me think here who our main antagonist will be, as by this point, we have a few that it could be. Excited to see where this goes in volume 4. Another 5 star read from me.
With the Holy Water Dragon loosing control it is up to Team Fairy Tail to save everyone from certain doom. However taking on something as strong as Mercphobia is no easy task even as another dragon comes to join the fun. If you are not reading the story yet and are a fan of the original Fairy Tail then hop in to see the continuation of the original series as relationships are more clearly defined, the naughty elements are just as effective, new lore for the series is explored, and the action is ramped up to 11 on a 10 level scale as Fairy Tail pulls out whatever stops they can to save the day even though a white mage is on her way to cause trouble in her own way. :)
I love Fairy Tail but this vol was a bit blah to me. It felt like it was recycled material, which is a bummer. **Maybe Spoiler** We had Edolas awhile ago and then they give us another twist pretty similar to it and just seem like it was over done with Edolas.
But I am here for all Nalu!! haha. Hopefully vol 4 makes up for this one.
Second read through! I forgot so much of this book from my last read. It would almost be enough to give it 4 stars, but there are some good moments.
Seriously beautiful NaLu and GreyVia moments, makes me so happy. And I hope Fairy Nail gets to come back, cause they're like the fun version of Edolas, and I love it.
There's some things I've noticed when reading this specifically that I really liked. First, how everyone views Natsu. When he gets a power up, everyone is like "Yeah go Natsu!" And only Lucy notices that he's not the same and is scary. It's not until a bit after that everyone else catches on. I think it just adds to how much Lucy knows and understands him. I also enjoy how everyone is more forward with their attractions to each other (compared to the anime).
Excited to start the next one! This one had a good ending point.
The whole Doppleganger thing, I’ve never been a fan of really (didn’t even really like the Edolas arc) but I guess it was kinda nice to see Greys true feelings to Juvia. I don’t think I’ll be able to read the next few for a while (again cause I’ll have to buy them) Introduction to Igneels blood child had me gasping thinking it was ACTUALLY Igneel. I’m excited that a lot of our favourites are being mentioned (Aquarius, Brandish, Igneel)

Fairy Tail is one of my favorite series of all time. It's also a bit of a guilty pleasure for me because the fan service is just ridiculous sometimes. There were a few scenes like that in this volume, which at this point is just expected. I read it (I roll my eyes a little), and go back to reading it, because the story is just so fun and well written.
In this volume, we reach the conclusion of the fight between the team and the Water Dragon God. We also meet a new dragon. Not going to lie, I was not expecting that particular development. Then we basically enter a mirror dimension without actually entering a mirror dimension. I swear, Fairy Tail sometimes feels like crack treated seriously, and in the best way.
(Gray and Juvia's "relationship" was featured, and I was frustrated by that. I find their relationship the most questionable out of all the ships, to be honest. And Gajeel and Levy met when Gajeel was a bad guy and he crucified her and her team to a tree, so that's saying something. It just really bothers me how desperately Juvia loves and devotes herself to him, and he seems to reciprocate in life or death situations, and seems to care about her, but doesn't show it to her in daily life. I know it won't happen, but I really wish she would just move on. She deserves better. But since that won't happen, whenever they're on the page, I'll cringe for Juvia and hope it'll be over soon. It is what it is.)
Despite my Gray and Juvia rant, I really did enjoy this volume. The fight was good, and we got a happy resolution, all things considered. Ezra got to be her lovable dopey self, which can be lost sometimes because she's such a badass character. Lucy was able to help Natsu by being his heart/conscience again, and we got a bit of unsettling foreshadowing. I cannot wait for the next volume!
I haven’t read manga in a while, and noticed there were a few new volumes published in this series, so decided to reread the first two, then read this and the next two.
A number of years ago, I learned that manga was immensely popular with teens, and wanted to know what the fuss was about. The best way I know to understand a genre is to read a lot of books in that genre. So I read a lot of manga, and learned a lot. It’s a good thing they’re quick reads and our library is well stocked.
Since then, graphic novels have emerged as a new and increasingly respected category spanning a range of genres. It’s interesting to see the US market slowly catching up to Japan, where manga is read by adults, teens and children, though it’s still primarily YA and middle grade here.
Fairy Tail is one of the more popular shonen series (manga primarily targeted at teen boys), though with a number of well developed female characters and a focus on friendship, relationships and even a dash of romance mixed in with quest-driven adventure plots, it’s broader in appeal than the few other shonen series I’ve read. I will say that since Atsuo Ueda took over from creator Hiro Mashima as illustrator for this spin-off series, there’s a bit more fan service and objectification of women. That aside, it’s still a fun quick read and welcome escape from the stresses of the real world.

The story so far is really interesting! I love the talent guild 'Fairy Nail' and the fun spin on the characters.
The fight against Mercphobia was a bit underwhelming honestly, but I guess since it's the first Dragon God they fought it was meant to be a bit easy. The introduction of Ignia has set him up to be the end goal fight. (I'm absolutely in love with him, like DAMN THAT CHARACTER DESIGN GOT ME FEELING ALL KINDS OF EMOTIONS)
Juvia showing up surprised me, and OH BOY we got blessed! It's a win for Gruvia shippers world wide!

I’m absolutely loving the way this story is going. It's only the 3rd volume, but I feel like it's going to be so much more complex than the original manga. The fights feel more intense, the characterization is way deeper, and after being on standby for way too long the relationships are finally progressing. The White Mage is so intriguing, and the god dragons are absolutely terrifying. I have no idea where it will lead us, but my love for Natsu will only grow deeper from there.
i think this is my fav volume till now. all the white mage, and juvia thing was so funny. but actually Natsu's personality its a little bit diferent from the anime idk, i think in the anime he is more: DON'T GIVE UP! and go directly into danger, in this manga when there is something so dangerous is like: w w what is that huge thing, and is more afraid? i think.
Man, I knew my memory wasn’t that off. I’ve been duped! This isn’t Fairy Tail volume 3, hahaha! Man I am so DUMB. C’mon B-rad pay attention!
This story seems pretty cool. I jumped in knowing nothing about it. That doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable. It does make Fairy Tale seem like a bunch of shirtless tatted toons going around starting fires. XD
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - things are heating up (literally) and i couldn’t be more enthralled. shocking revelations with one of the five dragons and natsu’s adoptive father!! ooo ooo ooo i’m fired up now 🔥
ALSO: nalu and gruvia fans are eating so well in this volume!! i absolutely lived for every single second of it!! gray’s about to have a crazy character arc i just know it 🧚🏾♀️🪄
I love the story line I do wish it was in color like I’ve said before I understand that is more work for the publisher so it’s understandable why it’s black and white. This manga is good it perfectly deserve more then 5 stars.
I'm a big fan of fairy tail so I'm pretty excited to read the next volume. Why are the people living on the hand of the wood dragon? What's up with Juvia? Will Hellas ever kiss Erza? Who knows

So far they want us to be all fired up and when getting the quest the man says “you are the last hope” and instead of getting worried or shocked they took that challenge with a confidence.
