What happens in those Christmas movies doesn’t happen in real life... right?
When Blake Sunday, an actor well known for his super fluffy roles in made-for-television movies, comes to the small but bustling town of Hidden Springs, Missouri to film a Christmas movie, he knows immediately that it's where he wants to put down roots. His restless, energetic nature gets him sent on a coffee run where he steps inside Knick-Knack Patty-Cakes and meets its adorable owner.
Declan Alexander is chubby, clumsy, has wild curly blonde hair that can only be tamed with a stocking cap and has an unnatural obsession with made-for-TV Christmas movies.… And Blake Sunday. So, when the gorgeous actor comes waltzing into his bakery, naturally Declan becomes a force of destruction on feet.
Blake is completely smitten by the shy man, and does everything he can to get the guy’s attention, but Declan continues to treat his flirting like a joke, and he starts to think it might be Declan’s way of turning him down nicely.
Declan knows Blake is one of those guys who flirt as naturally as they breathe, but it’s getting harder and harder to laugh off the high heat on when Blake calls him Angel Eyes or brushes his cheek when he reaches out to tug on one of his curls. How could he wish the man would stop and wish he wouldn’t at the same time?
When Blake nearly mows down a little boy carrying a snow globe with two men kissing in the middle of a frozen lake, he notices some striking similarities between him and one of the men, and it doesn't escape his notice that the other looks a lot like Declan, or that the globe has Knick-Knack Patty-Cakes’ logo on the bottom.
Maybe the gorgeous little baker with the sweet eyes and blush isn’t turning him down. Maybe Blake just needs to figure out how to prove how serious he is about taking him home and never letting him leave.
Although this book is part of A Snow Globe Christmas series, it is a complete standalone, and it isn’t a requirement that you read the previous books to follow along. We wish everyone a happy holiday season.
This was a really sweet low angst holiday read. I enjoyed it a lot. Light and easy. However, I did notice quite a few editing issues that kind of threw me out of the moment. But overall, it had all the feel goods of a Hallmark movie.
Lights,Camera,Christmas! is one of those deliciously fluffy books with such heartwarming and cheesy moments you can’t help but love it.
Declan is the owner of the bakery his longtime celebrity crush, Blake Sunday frequents while in town for a movie. He doesn’t expect anything -- how could Blake ever even look twice his way? But, a friendship grows overtime and it seems that perhaps Blake is just as taken by Declan as vice versa…
Blake Sunday has developed a crush on the bakery owner with the bubble butt and kind eyes but no matter how many times he’s asked, Declan out he always gets turned down. A snow globe, peppermint margaritas and surprise visits in the middle of night might just change that though.
I couldn’t help but like this book. It was such an easy read that brought me so many smiles. I LOVED Declan so much. I hated when he made little jabs at his weight but I am was so happy the thought of changing never even occurred to him. Blake was super sweet, kind and understanding. I often forgot he was supposed to be a movie star because all of that just in the background -- he was so completely humble and seemed so genuine throughout the whole book.
If you’re into low angst books with tons of fluff and a guaranteed happy ending then this one is for you.
I bought this title based on the cover and it really was cute
So in here we have Blake, a sexy as sin actor who is known for Christmas romcoms. He ends up in a small town where he meets Declan, a chubby fanboy who is obsessed with Blake the actor.
The only angst in here is the doubts each one has. Once these dingdongs get past the awkward stage, it's instalove.
My only knock on this was the fact that Declan was not treated well by his family.
The narrator was new to me and even though he had an on the other side of the ocean accent for both mcs, he did a great job
One thing I adore about so many of this author's stories that they include someone less than society's unrealistic ideal of perfection and they are portrayed as adored, desired, and wonderful just as they are. Finding someone to love you for, and not in spite of, what you see as imperfections is something many of us are striving to find. If only my life were more like these stories (*le sigh).
At first the silliness and ridiculousness seems like it'll be a little much, a few too cringe-worthy awkward moments that would set the tone for all to follow, but just when you think it'll be too much, it changes slightly and becomes entertaining and weirdly endearing. The one thing that is a bit too much is the closet of obsession. Aside from that, all the shenanigans add to the sappiness of the story.
The romantic timeline is incredibly quick with very little actual relationship building. What I appreciate though, is that while they acknowledge it it's kind of a non-issue in the story because of how it's written. You notice that issue in the beginning and when meltdowns occur, but every other moment I forget it's there. The end is fantastically sweet and brings the snow globe theme full circle. The way it's worked in with this story isn't forced at all, it truly works.
If you're looking for light, fluffy, short, and sweet, this is for you. Both MC's are interesting enough to be memorable and are absolutely perfect together. Blake supports Declan and encourages him while building his confidence through his obvious desire and affection. Declan gives Blake the sense of normalcy and acknowledgement he craves outside the spotlight. They compliment one another and have enough chemistry to keep things interesting. While introducing interesting side characters we're also given a cute love story that's memorable and full of warmth that's perfect for the Christmas season.
Declan owns a coffee shop in Haven Hills. He’s also a huge fan of Blake Sunday, and when he heard that his favorite actor was in town Declan didn’t know what to do with himself. Blake Sunday was getting a coffee when he met the most amazing man, he ever sees in his life…Declan. Blake knew that Haven hills was special, he didn’t expect to meet the love of his life. But how a famous actor and a coffee owner will match together…that’s what they’ll have to find out. I adored this Christmas novella. Declan and Blake are adorable. Declan is sweet, simple and generous. A little bit chubby, he’s sure than no one will love him sincerely, even less the gorgeous actor Blake Sunday. Declan has a huge crush on Blake, and he can’t understand that Blake could want him. Blake is an actor, he’s gorgeous, funny and he wants Declan. Blake loves Declan like it is. He loves Declan sincerity and sensitivity. He knows that his career can be a problem, but he’s ready to do everything to be here for Declan and to show him how important he is. This novella put a smile on my face from the 1st word until the last. It was sweet, funny and it warmed me. It was well written, fresh and dynamic. That’s the perfect book to read while waiting for Santa
This one was a complete surprise. I was attracted to it because I love when one of the MCs has an unconventional (for a romance book anyway) body type.
It was completely addictive and I didn't want to put it down. It was light and funny with little angst, but still had its serious moments that stopped it from being a purely fluffy read.
A beautiful Christmas (or anytime really) story that I highly recommend!!!!

This was seriously adorable, and I enjoyed Lights, Camera, Christmas in one sitting. Blake has crush on a chubby cute coffee shop owner, Declan. While Declan was so oblivious about Blake's intention on him. Obsessed about Blake. of course it was impossible that the movie star would make a move on him, right? Like, impossible. Right? Well, thing is, this is a seasons of magic and miracles. And though it's impossible in Declan's eyes, he need to see himself as Blake sees him. Sexy, adorable, and Blake crazy about him. Lights, Camera, Christmas was an enjoyable short read, one of my favorite of this season. I really enjoyed it! You should too!
Hasn't everyone dreamt of falling in love with a movie star? Declan definitely has and might be just a little bit obsessive over Blake. Luckily, Blake has a thing for Declan. Together they were so cute. I liked that Declan was completely oblivious to Blake's attraction and that Blake didn't give up. Drunk Blake was really fun though. And that epilogue was perfect. I loved it!
A perfect hallmarkish type of book. It was all the things you want in a perfect Christmas hallmark movie wrapped up in a book. I live for these during this time of year and I wasn’t disappointed with this book. I loved how sweet both mc’s were, loved how they were together. Loved the side characters, writing was on point, exactly what I needed. Wrap this one up and put a perfect bow on it.
super sweet, light, fluffy Christmas romance. Loved the characters, and the fact that one of them was fluffy. it's just like one of those cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies that you can't help but watch even though you know exactly how it's going to go. Loved Declan and Blake.
I will say, I can’t rate this five stars when compared against my other five star reads, but if I put it up against other under 100 pages short stories/novellas, it’s definitely one of my favorites and worth the read.
I loved Declan and Blake. They were both so sweet and wonderful. This was so easy to read, I didn't want to put it down and it left me with the biggest smile. I definitely need more of these two
JD Light's Lights, Camera, Christmas! is absolutely adorable. A complete delight, it's a light-hearted tale.
When Hollywood comes to town, Declan ends up meeting his crush, actor Blake. And as in a fairy tale, the hunky Blake falls for the average Declan.
Declan's so sweet, totally lovable, and completely hard on himself, thinking he's unattractive due to his weight. With Blake, the reader is entertained with a sugary sweet couple. And, omg, the stalker bits are hysterical.
Lights, Camera, Christmas! has some good humor, and a magical ending. Hell, the whole thing is magical and downright heart warming!
Pretty cute, but I felt like I was missing something for most of the story, some sort of continuity that I should've been aware of before reading this. Hopefully there are more stories about this town that I haven't discovered yet...
❄Sweetness, sweets and a good measure of 🔥 to warm this opposites attract romance❤
From the awkward, double entendre meet-cute that begins the book, I found this story enjoyably sweet and upbeat, very like those sweet, clean holiday movies on that well-known movie channel. But, a BIG but, this story has heaps of MM 🔥heat. Our seemingly mismatched heroes are REALLY hot for each other, like all the time, though baker/shop owner Declan's work gets in the way of datetime. Film star Blake is as down to earth as small-town Declan; I thought they were a great pair. I also really liked the idea that a dreamy, ripped celebrity zoomed in on a guy who was, especially in his own eyes, less than handsome and out of shape with love handles.
Declan's sister and nephew Jensen are great secondary characters, too. This is a shorter, standalone romance and I was glad to find that the story zeroed in on the couple and really used secondary characters to advance Declan and Blake's story rather than distract from it. The final scene was uber romantic and dovetailed so well into the earlier story: that Blake is super at paying attention to the details about his man!😏
I read a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest review.
What's Declan to do when the actor he's had a crush on his whole life shows up at his shop? Why,of course, make a fool of himself! Poor Declan. He's a klutz in his best days, imagine when he's all flustered and nervous.
And if after that Blake shows up at his shop every day, it's not because he's interested in Deck, right? A sexy movie star can't be attracted to a pudgy baker/trinket maker. Especially not when he's in town just for a little bit, to then set out to some other filming location.
But Blake so very much is captivated by Declan and aroused by his body. And 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮, 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 is the entertaining story of how these two men circle each other, completely and adorably heedless of their feelings being corresponded all along. They'll eventually declare their love and keep it strong...despite the discovery of a Blake "crush room" in Declan's house and the meddling of somewhat crazed family members lol.
The book is sweet, funny, with the cutest characters and a warmth inducing romance. Loved it.
Rounding up from 3.5. This was sweet, but only just under three hours long (audiobook), and the whole thing felt rushed. We didn't see a lot of together time for the couple, so it was a bit over the top for them to decide they're in love extremely quickly, at least to me. It seemed that the main point of the novella was to explore the movie star hot guy falls for attractive but a bit overweight guy thing. Which is great! But the relationship, once it got going, felt incredibly rushed. I never got invested, because the MCs especially Blake, were a bit two-dimensional.
The thing is, I've read novellas of this length that were incredible. This was meh.
Audiobook: I'm positive the narrator, Simon Wave, wasn't American, and he didn't especially try to do an American accent, which I appreciated. A badly done accent can make a book unlistenable. I spent about $4 for this novella on Audible.
Finding out your biggest impossible crush likes you back? Oh yeah!
This is a wonderful addition to the Snow Globe Christmas series. It is a feel- good, no angst, HEA book. I fell in love with Hidden Springs and its people. The characters are well thought out and intriguing. There are quirky family members. There is unexpected love. Did I mention cookies and snow globes? I loved this book! This is Declan & Blake's story. Blake is in town to film a TV movie. When he first sees the kinda chubby owner of the coffee/ cookie shop, he knows this is the man he has been seeking. Declan, cookie baker & snow globe maker extraordinaire, has had a crush on Blake forever. He can't believe that Blake could like him, let alone want him. When these two finally get their act together, sparks will fly. If you are looking for a light, romantic tale, this is the book for you. I didn't want to put it down. Come on... Get. This. Book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
This is a super sweet and fun story with amazing characters and a great storyline. It is well written, hilarious, entertaining, has little to no angst and a perfect ending. Declan is an absolute sweetheart and I love him to bits. He is the sweetest stalker you will ever meet and I love how clueless he is when Blake is trying so hard to ask him out. Blake is very down to earth and he knows exactly who and what he wants if only he can figure out how to get Declan to pay attention to him. They are so cute together and I love how their relationship develops. The secondary characters are great and add a lot to the story. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This book was wonderfuI absolute escapism. Imagine meeting your film star crush, and finding your HEA!
I immediately got completely involved in this utopia of a little town. The author describes a town full of kindness, happiness and incredibly quirky and vibrant characters.
Declan is an absolute hoot, and I loved Blake's dreamy romanticism. The story has a sweetness, nostalgia and a simplicity about it, full of love and happiness, from the word go.
A nice little Christmas read. Perfect for this time of the year. It's full of Christmas cheer, and it certainly made me smile. Absolutely loved the ending.
I loved this book, how J.D. Light incorporated the snow globe theme, and the HEA for Blake and Declan. I was hooked from the moment Declan spotted Blake, his favorite actor in the TV movies he watches obsessively, but the book doesn't follow the format of typical Hollywood actor meets every man. Despite Declan's massive crush, he believes he can be himself around the man, and in turn, misses all the clues that Blake is interested in him. This is a feel-good book for the holiday season, and honestly every day in between. A great read, perfect characters meant to be, and a wonderful secondary cast that brings life to this small town romance!
Declan was such a sweet, adorably awkward and insecure mess. When his Christmas movie star crush Blake arrives in town to film a movie, Declan finds himself sticking his foot in his mouth. Blake is crushing hard on the sweet coffe shop owner and is hard pressed to understand why his advances keep being rejected. Poor Declan just doesn't even know he's being asked out because his insecurities over his weight just don't even allow him to consider that possibility. I loved how Blake was able to break through to Declan and prove just how serious he was about him. Declan's sister and his nephew provided great comedic relief.
He's here in my store! Blake is the top actor but is tired of all the hoopla and just wants to find the special place to live and love and maybe find that certain someone. But that someone has to be a man and Hollywood doesn't know and he believes won't accept that fact of his life. But in a little coffee shop in Haven Hills where he's filming he opens the door to his new life when he sees the owner Declan; cute, chubby, hair always messed up and who just happens to be Blake's #1 fan. This is a Christmas story of fated mates that just need a little help from that special snow globe to make both of their lives complete. For this honest review I received an ARC.
This story is so sweet. It's funny and heartfelt, and it brought me Christmas in August. 🎄 I love how much Blake loves Dec and he's just perfect in his eyes. I love how obsessed Declan is with Blake before they ever even meet. It's so funny that his nephew rats him out about the closet and the snow globe. 😂 I love Declan's family. I had so much fun listening to this.
The narrator is amazing! I love Simon Wave. This story has been enriched by his sexy af accent. I haven't listened to books he's done the voice acting for before, but I want to buy audiobooks just because he's the narrator now.
*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*
The moment Declan saw Blake in his bakery was priceless. In his stunned state; he said certain things out loud and was doing something else with his hands - I couldn’t stop laughing.
Declan was so clueless and it didn’t help that he was so self conscious about his looks. Why would Blake be interested in him? Blake goes the extra length to show Declan exactly why he’s only got eyes for him. Declan and Blake were beautiful together.
A fantastic story with plenty of humour, heat and romance.
Oh my goodness! Blake Sunday is here in my town making a movie and now he's in my shop ordering coffee and eating my sweets. I love his movies, I dream of him, he's so much more handsome in person, my ultimate crush. But I'm nothing special, just Declan, a pudgy baker who is ok on any scale but maybe he, could he be interested in me, life couldn't possibly get that sweet. This book was a perfect for the Snow Globe Christmas series, a perfectly sweet addition that was so much fun to read, what a treat!
This amazingly cute Hallmark Christmas story about Declan and Blake was short, sweet and hard to put down. Declan was your small town baker and Blake was your TV star who came to said small town to shoot a Christmas movie. I love that Blake described and loved Declan's "plush body" and that he helped Declan get over some of his insecurities about his looks. This is a must read for the holiday season!
