The older members of the Clear Creek church women's group, informally known as the Peashooter Society, successfully matched five couples who married this past fall.
When Nadine Paulson and Wesley Preston, the last couple to fall in love, announce their engagement to their friends after Thanksgiving, the group decides to plan a surprise thank you party for the Peashooters for bringing them together.
Only the friends know, as they decorate the hotel for the holiday event and bake hundreds of cookies, that the party guests will also witness the Christmas day wedding of Nadine and Wesley.

SECRET WEDDING PLANS
The story is the eighth in this series and is a spin-off from the Grooms with Honor and Brides with Grit Series. When six of the elderly ladies, better known as the Peashooter Society, get together, it is to come up with a plan. Now it involves getting the six prospected new grooms to meet the six potential new brides. The story is the last in the series and will be the surprise wedding of the last couple, Nadine Paulson and Wesley Preston.
The final story has Nadine and Wesley making plans for their wedding but wanted to keep the date a secret and to surprise the Peashooter Society. It also includes some memories of the other couples who have married during the year. They can still laugh at how the Peashooters mismatched them, but how they all made it work by switching to suitable partners. Not only were their marriages, but adoptions for several children. There will even be another budding romance.
“Another good day for us, former orphans.”
As with any plans, the unexpected has a way of happening, and this story is no exception. Planning for a Christmas wedding comes with one disaster or issue after another—between fabric issues to weather—life happens. But it is a great example of how this couple will handle their future and challenges that life throws at them—and the other couples in this series. It was a great ending to a wonderful series.
“And to think this all happened because of a letter to the Kansas City Star newspaper and a train robbery.”

Nadine Paulson, or as she is affectionately known by her family, Paulson sister number 5 falls in love with Wesley Preston one

group to marry. The Peashooter Society's mission is almost complete. Once they are finally married, things will settle down.

A wedding dress fiasco, some sly plans made without the older women in the town knowing about them, a giant blizzard,
disappearing reception food and a big surprise will all come together to delay the wedding by a day. Can they pull this off?

This sweet story takes place in Clear Creek, Kansas in the winter of 1892. This is a wonderfully sweet and delightful story about Nadine and Wesley. Many trials came up while trying to get the wedding up and running properly. But as you will read, it ended with some beautiful happenings in the end. This is a lovely Christmas story. I was totally swept up into the journey of Nadine’s wedding and I was carried along on all the disappointments and joys. Was it all worth it? I would say most definitely yes. But you must come and read it for yourself and find out.

Well I only missed one. Lost somewhere. I wll tell my friends at a bingo,If I get to go again. After 2 months in b a hospital from this covid 19. My lungs may not let me go. But I will call a bunch and tell them of this wonderful series. And people keep those masks, 4 to six feet a part. I'M JUST LEARNING TO WALK AGAIN. NO ONE ELSE HAS THIS ALFUL STUFF. BE SAFE. JD

Fabulous series
I have found a new favorite author, Linda Hubalek! I love her style of writing clean historical romance with dashes of drama, mystery, family, community and love of course. I started reading some of her books in the Brides with Grit series and moved on to this series where I had to read the entire group! Discovering that there are additional series in this Clear Creek saga, I'll have to go back and begin with the first series in the saga!

WOW, what a wonderful ending to this series. The characters are so enjoyable as we watched the relationships blossom. Almost everything that could go wrong with the original plan occurred. Yet through all the challenges, the entire group rises to every occasion. Really loved this book.

Wesley and Nadine
Sadly this is the last in this series. It is a very cute love story that is the perfect ending for this series. I have read each book starting with Grooms With Honor, Brides With Grit and now this series. You will greatly enjoy each and every one of them as I did.

Smooth as velvet
Plans for a Christmas wedding should go as smoothly as velvet. Wesley and Nadine are the last of the peashooter brides. Deciding upon a Christmas wedding is easy, it's what happens in between that is almost comical including what happens with a piece of velvet fabric. This is a wonderful end to the series and this book can certainly be read as a stand alone.

Another great book in this series telling of Hope ,love and happiness. The women in this story all meet men who they get to marry and live in and around the town. Great story and being able to follow all the orphans find true love and their forever homes!
Following this story line and the peashooter club and how they brought young men to their town that had been orphaned as children and became a band of brothers. They came and ended up finding their true love mates and their forever home!

This book was just okay for me. What I didn't care for was the fact that there were so many characters in the book. It seemed like 500 people were introduced to me in the first 2% of the book and yest that's an exaggeration but not by much. I couldn't keep everyone straight! True, I haven't read any of the other stories in this series, but this book didn't make me want too either.

A wonderful series with great characters of the Peashooter society women. This story wrapped up the wedding of Nadine and Wesley, the last of the group when the Peashooter's tried to be matchmakers, but will the wedding happen?

Good ending for a good series
I loved the Christmas plan. I loved the humor and twists this story took. How it came full circle. I'm glad I got the first book in the series on a deal. Which after reading I continued through to this book.

Nadine and Wesley's story was worth waiting for. It made me laugh and I enjoyed it very much. I have enjoyed all of the Clear Creek series and hope there will be a way to visit Clear Creek again.

I think I did this book and author a disservice. I did not read this series in order, therefore I had a hard time following the story-line. There were so many characters, I didn't know who was who or which couples went together. The writing was very well done and the characters were very well crafted.

Nadine Paulson is set to marry Wesley Preston in a surprise wedding on Christmas but things are just not working the way they are supposed to. Wonderful couple and romance set around the holidays with lots of family values and spiritual moments.

It was nice to finish out the series, but if I wouldn't have bothered with it if it hadn't have been on Kindle Unlimited. I got a bit frustrated with all the problems happening with the wedding planning. It also felt like this story wasn't really necessary....but it was a clean read.
