Kiefer has been crushing on Greer since he was a teenager, never imagining anything could happen between them. Then one night changes everything. Now the older alpha is all he can think about and things between them are heating up. But Kiefer’s best friend, Jaxon, doesn’t want to see his father hurt, and Kiefer will need to stand strong if he’s going to keep his place at his mate’s side.
Greer has lost it all before, can he risk his heart again?
A lifetime ago, Greer lost his wife and young child. Since then, he’s sealed off his heart, unwilling to let it be torn out a second time. But when he scents that Kiefer is his fated mate, Greer knows there’s no fighting the bond between them. A second chance at love is more than Greer ever dreamed of, but a second chance at fatherhood has all of his protective instincts screaming to shield his mate and their unborn child from harm.
Greer’s zealous protection and Jaxon’s resentment might be too much for Kiefer to handle. He loves his mate and the life they could have together, but he refuses to be the reason the pack is torn apart. Can he and Greer find a way to navigate both the complicated pack and family dynamics, or is their fated bond already doomed to break?
I really enjoyed the first 2/3rds of this book, but the third act was an absolute mess that not only made me pissed at the current couple, but destroyed the characters of previous leads that I had really liked.
Throughout the book, Jaxon acts irrationally about Keifer and Greer’s relationship but the third act… it genuinely was such a disservice to the kind, strong character from book 1. And the conflict being resolved with a simple apology - no.
Greer’s trauma is very understandable even when he acts irrationally, but the trigger for his irrational behavior was just weird. And then Keifer throws in a mention that he has trauma that’s never mentioned again to validate his reaction to the conflict. I just found it unsatisfying and annoying, especially when book 4 had a pretty similar third act breakup (also what’s with these alpha’s ditching their pregnant omegas for weeks on end in this series???)
This was always going to be my stopping point in the series, from book 1 I’d wanted to get to Greer’s book and move on if no other characters grabbed my attention. Maybe I’ll return to the series at another point or try a newer book from the author, but for now this is my end point of the series.
wow.. drama. younger/older... love.. fear.. so many raw emotions and personalities clashing. so many fun things and angsty things.. so much going on that it was fast paced and kept me interested. i liked it a lot
When you think you’ll never find your mate, only to find him in The one you least expect it to be. Another good book these do read as a standalone, but reading the other books will give you knowledge of who people are. There is a sub plot in the background that hasn’t came to fruition but the main part is about the romance and the fate it mate. This isn’t exactly an Insta love but it’s close. The writing was good, the Smexy was good, and the side characters are those we met in the past. Can we normalize a little bit more grovelling before we just forgive though I mean if somebody was getting ready to punch me it would probably take more than just take me out to lunch to smooth things over..
This is a really nice addition to the Timberwood Cove series. There's a substantial age gap (which I love) and a slew of entertaining characters. I've been looking forward to Greer's story since the first book. I wasn't disappointed.
Silver Daddy is the 5th book in Timberwood Cove series by Liam Kingsley and I really liked it. This book is about omega Kiefer (the other daddy of the little girl we got to know in the 4th book) and Greer, the father of one of Kiefer's best friends and the man he has been crushing on since he was a teenager.
I really liked this book. Kiefer and Greer were so good together.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What can I say, it’s Mpreg! Although there were times that I wanted to kick Greer’s ass, but other than that it’s a good book! Sooo, five down, five to go. I’m taking a mini break to get to some other books in my KU library but like Arnold says “I’ll be back” lol
Well, I definitely liked this more the first time I read it over a year ago, and I should've left it in the past. I'd completely forgotten that Kiefer had a kid and that Greer had a dead wife that I'm petty enough to say I didn't like how much he went on about her. In romance, I usually avoid books with kids and dead spouses, because I personally just don't like kids and because I always feel like the current partner is now second-best. Not to mention the super-cringey ending with the MCs naming their newborn after Greer's dead wife. Yuck. I completely understand the idea behind it, but it really rubs me the wrong way. At the very least it was Kiefer's idea; if it had been Greer's, I would've felt even more icked-out.
Two stars ("just ok") for good writing and the slight angst around the 70% mark.
The man you've lusted for since you were a teenager is your fated mate? Too bad he's your friend's Dad!
What a great addition to the Timberwood Cove series! I could not put it down. Come, get drawn back in to the wonderful world that is Timberwood Cove. All our old friends are back. Get reacquainted with Jason, Trevor, Jaxon, Maurice, Stacia, Keifer, and Greer. You will get caught up in their lives. You will care about them. In short, you will love this book! It has it all: age-gap, traumatic past issues, trust issues, cute kids, an adorable baby, two stubborn men, misunderstandings, passion, angst, forgiveness, and unbelievable love. Oh, did I mention the really hot sex! What's not to love! This is Keifer and Greer's story. After a drunken night with his best friend Jason ends with a baby girl, Keifer discovers Jason is a wolf shifter. Too bad he's not his fated mate. But there is one man Keifer could see spending forever with: Greer. One problem, Greer is his friend Jaxon's Dad. Greer gave up on love after his wife & child died in childbirth. At his age, 55, he never expects Fate to dump his Mate in his lap. Especially a human mate over 20 years younger. A man he watched grow up. But you know what they say; you can't fight Fate. Getting to HEA won't be easy. Greer has some heavy fears to overcome. Keifer just wants to be loved and claimed, so he can finally be a wolf and have Greer forever. Add in the daughter he co- parents with Jason, and you have cuteness and joy. Wirh all their friends behind then, Greer and Keifer will reach their HEA, with a little unexpected help from a ghostly voice. You are gonna love this book! It is the continuation of the series. It can be read alone, but I recommend reading the first four books, in order. You will be glad you did. I cannot wait to see what happens on book 6. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex, and is intended for mature readers only.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Greer and Kiefer. Kiefer is a single father to Stacia and has had a crush on Greer, his friend Jaxon's father since they were teens. Greer is an alpha and used to lead the pack until he retired and turned things over to Jaxon. Greer used to be mated to Coral, but she died in childbirth and he has been alone ever since. Greer had adopted Jaxon as a pup and raised him alone. Now Jaxon wants his father to find someone and tells him he should try to meet new omegas. At a claiming ceremony, Greer catches a scent and tries to find who it belongs to. Kiefer has to be at the ceremony because it is for his best friend Jason, Stacia's other father, and his heat has come early. When Greer finds the scent, he is surprised to find it is Kiefer. Greer and Kiefer spend the evening together and dance and talk, and then Greer kisses Kiefer. Kiefer thinks it was just because of his heat, but Greer calls him and asks to see him again. They begin seeing each other, but Jaxon warns Kiefer not to hurt his father, but Kiefer is in just as much danger of being hurt. Greer has some past issues he has to deal with before they can be together and i think Kiefer was really hurt. I loved this book. I loved Greer, he was so good with the children and i think he really cared for Kiefer, but he was so scared. Kiefer was in love with Greer, but also knew he needed a commitment and his family together. I love this series. This was my favorite so far. Great series.
Keifer is a human omega and has had a crush on Greer, a wolf shifter alpha since he was a young man, he would spend countless hours with his best friend Jaxon who is Greer’s son. Now Keifer is in his thirties and he wants a mate of his own. He had a baby to his best friend Jason in a one night stand when he was drunk. Keifer is tired of being the one on the side. But Greer never sees him until Jason‘s claiming ceremony.
Greer listens to his son Jaxon telling him it is time to find his mate. He lost his beloved Coral and his twins when complications arose during her delivery. Greer is now fifty five years old, who will he meet that will take away the loneliness that losing his mate and children left in his heart. Then Greer smells a really enticing aroma which he just has to discover who it belongs to.
He chases the smell all around the ceremony and the party afterwards. Then he decides to take some air on the balcony of Wolf Lodge and the smell is really strong there. He turns around and there he is. Keifer is his fated mate. But there is the age difference, can they overlook their differences. Will they be able to make a life together?
You won’t be disappointed in reading this next book in the series of Timberwood Cove. This series just keeps getting better and better each new book. I can’t wait to read the next book.

The author's use of favorite tropes continues in this romance which plays around with the age gap and gay for you tropes. Greer had previously been married to a woman who died in childbirth. He has closed himself off from relationships after that until encouraged by his adoptive son Jaxon whom we met in Homerun Daddy in this series. Little do either of them know that Greer's fated mate is Jaxon's best friend Kiefer who has a daughter with Jason from Doggone Daddy in the series. Jason and Kiefer were not fated mates, however and Jason has moved on to a fated relationship with Trevor. Kiefer has secretly had a crush on Greer since he was a young man and this story details their struggles to overcome past tragedies and build a strong foundation for raising a family. As always, while there is some angst in these stories it is never the deep, dark kind that makes you stop reading to catch your breath. Even through the pain you feel the warmth and decency of the characters and you just know it will all come right in the end. The children, amazingly enough are always wonderful in this series, regardless of their age. I find in some series the author does not know how to write spunky, independent children and/or babies that aren't just a bit irritating and bratty. If that is a concern for you, have no fear here.
This author has written an incredible second-chance Mpreg shifter romance that takes the reader on an emotional, heartwarming journey, it is the fifth book in the series & can be read as a standalone. The plot is well-written & entertaining, there are some unexpected situations that keep’s the reader’s attention quite firmly until the end. The strong-willed characters are quite complex with engaging personalities & endure some self-inflicted insecurities during their courtship but become an emotional-strong couple. There is some good support from the secondary characters. There is: a mature alpha (Greer) with some sad memories decides to close his heart only to scent & discover that a young human male omega & writer (Kiefer) is his fated mate, Greer’s caring but worried son (Jaxon), Kiefer’s precocious daughter (Stacia), some twists, intrigue, drama, wolf shifters, humans, friendship, memories, longings, loneliness, discovery, attraction, fated mates, verbal banter, suspicions, warnings, advice, a unexpected surprise, protectiveness, panic attacks, misunderstandings, disagreements, compromises, love, steamy scenes, contentment & a happy conclusion for this couple with a very intriguing ending. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading this genre.
Smooth and sexy. Best of series, so far. I can feel their emotions. The author did an excellent job making me feel the pain from Greer's fear and the lonliness from Keifer's single life. Greer, 55, retired lead Alpha spent his days in routine that kept him engaged, active and content. Keifer lived a life for his daughter, Stacia and his best friend, Jason her Alpha father. He wrote his romance novels, was published and comfortable. He was a frequent visitor ot the Homestead pack lands and he was friends with most of the pack since he grew up with most of them before he knew they were pack. Greer's wife, Coral died in childbirth with the twins before he adopted Jaxson. He held the grief close to himself without being morbid. But he still held the fear of death and complications in his heart and mind. He missed Coral. At Jason and Trevor's claiming ceremony, Greer scented an amazing smell. That's when he noticed Keifer, one of Jaxon's friends, as a man. Talk about a May/December relationshp, WHOOHOO! Totally, HOT! The cover art, lets you know the story is great. The challenges, the fears, the work and hopefully the growth make this an amazing story. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Greer has known Kiefer since he was a teenager. Kiefer and Jaxon are best friends. Greer is Jaxon's father. Kiefer and Jason have a daughter together. At Jason and Trevor's claiming ceremony, Jason tries to convince Greer that it is time to put himself out there again. Greer lost his wife and twins along time ago and locked his heart away. Greer suddenly smells some thing sweet and tries to find out who it is. Kiefer is excited about selling one of his books, and needs to do some fine tuning of it for the publishers. Kiefer based this latest book on a fantasy he has kept in the back of his mind for a long time. Greer and Kiefer run into each other and spend some time talking. Greer feels the pull of a fated mate because he is a wolf shifter. Kiefer has been in love with Greer for a long time. Greer is not ready to claim Kiefer because he is afraid of losing him like he lost Coral. Kiefer is upset because he loves Greer and is not happy with the way Greer is handling things. Can Greer get over his fear of losing Kiefer? Will Kiefer and Greer find the love that will make them happy?

To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Kiefer has had a crush on his best friend's father since they were teens. A few years ago, a one night stand with his friend had resulted in the birth of Stacia, and Jason and Kiefer happily share custody of their gorgeous daughter. Jason found his fated mate, but Kiefer has stayed alone since. Greer was devestated when he lost his mate and their babies during the birth - he had adopted Jaxon when he was very young, and always liked to see his son's friends. he had no idea how Kiefer felt about him. During a claiming ceremony, the smell of an omega called him as it never had before - and he was stunned when it turned out to be Kiefer. Were they really fated mates? I thoroughly enjoyed their story, as they fought their personal demons to come together in a happy place - but what about the dragons that are threatening Timberwood Cove? I cant wait to read the next installment - will Nash finally find his mate? I hope so! :-) Love this series - and all of Liam's work!

Beautiful, emotional and a darned good book to read. Whats not to love about older men and younger men getting together. But both men have things in their life to get over. Can they do so without ruining what fates have brought together.? The fact that Greer used to be Alpha, now he is just a dad and Grandfather ,plus he helps other members of the pack. But truth be told he is lonely, and the advice from his son, at the claiming ceremony is that there is someone out there for you, keep your nose up, so he did just that and was surprised at what he found. Keifer, has had a child before, a one night stand with his best friend. He is also an author and his layest book... on an older man, a romance if you please. But he is lonely, he has always had a crush on his friends dad... Greer. Going to the claiming ceremony he meets up with Greer once more, this time though Greer is attracted to him and his smell. Turns oyt that they are fated mates. But things get dicey when Keifer gets pregant, Greers past comes back to haunt him
If you have already read stories of TIMBERWOOD COVE, then you are familiar with Jaxon's father Greer, a wise and beloved pack leader until he passes the reigns to his son. Now retired life gets lonely and from all sides he hears the advice to open up again to the possibility of finding a partner. When Fate finally decides it is Greer's time to find his fated mate, he is shocked to find it to be his son's best friend, Kiefer. Like with all of the Timberwood Cove stories there is more to it than just a love story. There is the theme of age gap, of family having trouble accepting a parent to find a partner their own age and different fears and insecuritites. These issues make the book - and the series - deeper and more interesting to read. A warning at the end - the book ends in a cliff-hanger for the overall- story of Timberbwood Cove. If you do not like cliff-hangers, wait to read this book until the next one is out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Since starting Liam Kingsley's Timberwood Cove series, I have been waiting for Greer's story. In Silver Daddy, we get just that!
It's exciting as Greer gets a second chance at finding love, this time with his son's friend. Despite a large age gap, the way Greer and Kiefer relate to one another is wonderfully established. These are two men who have known one another for years but are suddenly bonding in a new way.
Kiefer's a romance author who's long crushed on his friend's father. Meanwhile, Greer's an older man who never expected to find his fated mate. Together, they make for a fascinating couple with a beautiful story.
I love the writing in this series, as the characters are well developed and their storylines are intriguing. Told in alternating first person pov, the reader is fully drawn into the characters' minds.
Silver Daddy is the perfect read when you're in the mood for a sweet and fluffy omegaverse romance. A wonderful combination of May to December, shifter, and a second chance at love, this is a great read.
The time as come for alpha Greer to step down from the Timberwood Cove alpha position to let his adopted son Jaxon assume the position. Greer has led a lonely life his mate and son passed away but he has accepted the fact that he will always be on the outside looking in at those of his pack that have found their respective mates and now have children of their own. What he doesn't realize until a pack gathering that the smell of his fated mate has been right under his nose all these years. And that fated mate is none other than Keifer, Jaxon's childhood friend. Now Keifer has always had a yearning for Greer but their age difference has always been a holdup. At this pack gathering of wedding bliss both acknowledge the other but the one obstacle to their mating is not so much the age difference but Jaxon. Jaxon feels that Keifer doesn't have honest intentions as far as being Greer's fated mate. It will a lot of understanding on the part of all parties to get to this couple's HEA. The LesCourt ARC team granted me an ARC for my honest review.
Greer and Kiefer's story is told in this latest Timberwood Cove book. Greer has loved and lost his chosen mate; Kiefer has crushed on Greer since his teens but both go on with their lives until one fateful claiming ceremony. They both are attending the latest mates claiming ceremony in their pack when Greer catches the undeniable scent of his fated mate. When he investigates and follows that scent he finds Kiefer, his adopted sons best friend. Read how they fall for each other, admit that they are mates, deal with an update son (alpha of the pack) and through heart-aching downs and ups find their way to their Happily Ever Forever Family.

Greer is an older alpha attends a claiming ceremony and scents his fated mate. Wolf shifter Alpha Greer had handed over the role of Pack Alpha to his adopted son and had gone from being very busy to having time on his hands. He had chosen a mate when young but she had died in childbirth and he had never had any urge to find another. He goes to a claiming ceremony and catches a whiff of a scent and realizes it is that of his fated mate. He tries to track it but keeps loosing it in the crowd of guest. Eventually he finds the owner of the scent and it is Keifer his son's best friend and a human. He knows the age gape is large and wonders if they can make it in a relationship.

Another great add to the series. Kiefer and Greer are next in this crazy pack finding their mates. I loved Kiefer and thought he was adorable but I never really liked Greer. The story is still great and nothing bad to say but I just never connected with Greer from the beginning in Book 1. I do like that he was about to get a mate too and see other readers really wanting that. Kiefer and Greer don't have it easy and Jax was a jerk which really wasn't addressed enough for me with somethings that he did that I think were way off base (don't want to say spoilers). Got to see more new characters and old favorites that was great. Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.
Silver Daddy is the fifth book in the Timberwood Cove series by Liam Kingsley. It is a sexy and sweet, second chance, best friend's father story... but made even better by the fact that its shifters and an mpreg. Greer and Keifer heat up the pages and made me smile with their connection. The story has some drama, obstacles the mates will need to overcome... I mean we do have an age gap, and a best friend's father scenario going on afterall. Overall I fully enjoyed the story and definitely want to read more of the series.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
This is a sweet love story of an older alpha and a younger omega who has had a crush on him since a teenager. Greer catches the scent of an omega which leads him straight to Keifer and the attraction between them escalates, Keifer becomes pregnant and Greer’s past fears increase to the point that Keifer walks out. Greer’s wife Coral and the twins she was carrying all died during child birth. These fears cause him to pull back and problems arises between them. There is a HEA but a lot happens first. This is a good story and I would recommend it as worth reading. It ends with a lead into the next story.
Kiefer has been in love with Greer for a long time. The problem is his friendship with his son and the age difference. Greer wasn't looking for a mate after losing Coral during child birth. He caught the scent that is irresistible to him. He followed it and found that it belonged to Kiefer. They developed a relationship and had to deal with fear of the unknown lose. They did and in the end they had a claiming ceremony and baby shower at the same time. Shortly after Kiefer gave birth to their daughter and added to the family.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The age gap put me off I must admit, not so much the number of years but the fact that their relationship had started out the way it had and the bonds and roles they had already.
It did get a lot better actually (after I picked it up after a break) when Greer turned out to have weaknesses too.
Nevertheless, the writing was good as always, the characterisations were consistent, the pace was great, the world building is so natural and consistent throughout that this should be another 4 stars from me.
Whilst I love this series and will continue reading, I found this one uncomfortable so only 3star.
After some wonderful stories we got the opportunity to read in this series featuring how a shifter found his fated mate and got his HEA it was time the author gave us an age gap romance in the series. The love story of Greer and Keifer is one of the best because showed us a different dynamic inside the pack and you could witness another side not so good of Jaxon trying to protect his father. Love is love regardless age gap so.... Also the general plot and the interaction between clans is changing and danger is now expected. I can’t wait to see what is the explanation of all the mystery and how the author develops it! I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Silver Daddy is book 5 in the Timberwood Cove series and can be enjoyed in any order. Kiefer, an omega and single father, had a crush on his best friend Jaxon's dad Greer when they were teens. Now years later when Greer has accepted he will be alone after the loss of his firt mate, fate has other plans. I love this book and the dynamic between Kiefer and Greer. We get to see a vulnerable side to Greer as he deals with his fear of claiming another and a commanding side to Kiefer as he wants that commitment and to have their growing family together. Definitely recommend this book and series. Narrator Guillaume Dubois does another fabulous job.
