Blood isn't always thicker than water, especially in matters concerning love, lust, and passion.
Family ties no longer bind the once close King siblings, Zach and Jay. Their desire for the same woman transforms them from loving brother and sister to bitter arch rivals. Jamaican beauty Jillian Bessette is Jay's lover, but Zach's uncontrollable yearning to have her overpowers him, causing him to commit the ultimate act of betrayal against his flesh and blood.
For his sin, Jay orders a hit on her brother, but her plan for revenge backfires, and she is exposed. Her only way to avoid justice is to flee. In exile, Jay's hatred and resentment for Zach and Jill consumes her every waking moment. Their new life together includes a baby boy, the product of their forbidden affair, and adds more fuel to the growing fire of hatred growing inside Jay. While she longs for the day of vengeance against them, they bask in the beauty of love and happiness, but precious moments are cut short, overshadowed by the sins of their past. Zach is forced to send Jill and their son away to the one place he believes they'll be safe from Jay and her threats to settle the score. To the contrary, he unknowingly delivers Jill right into Jay's hands.
The two former lovers come face to face, and Jill's nightmare begins. Helpless, Zach must place his faith in the heroics of others in a race against time to rescue Jill from the torturous clutches of a woman who is bitter and vexed!
First time reading a tale written by this author and I was not disappointed. The female villain was crazy as a bedbug. I mean looney tunes!! I'm talking Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!! She contributed mightily to the story though.
Zach King travels to Jamaica on vacation, to visit his sister Jay and her lover Jill. He never intended to catch the eye of his sister’s lover, but somehow did. He resists temptation until one day, they show up in Atlanta, on his doorstep, seeking temporary shelter.
Jay is a very manipulative and controlling stud, who can’t seem to respect or be faithful to her naive lover Jill. As with many control freaks, Jay clocks Jill’s every move...in order to keep her at bay, but her plan backfires and Jay wreaks havoc on everyone around her!
Jill is a young lady with dreams of becoming a dancer, but often find little support in her alcoholic lover. She didn’t mean to find comfort in the arms of Zach, but some things are just meant to be.
How will the siblings get past falling for the same girl?
I absolutely loved this 💎💎💎💎💎 book, and I highly recommend that you go pick it up.
Definitely had me on the edge of my seat. Zach and Jill’s story started of with taboo wanting and eventually led to more. With Jill being jays lover ( also Zach’s sister) things escalated rather quickly as a jealous jay got into action. Part 1 of a 3 book series. Enjoyed that things moved quickly and it didn’t feel as if the plot was moving slow.
Where do I even begin? I didn’t even finish the entire thing. This book was just unrealistic. I wanted to like this book so bad but man was this bad. First of all the pacing was just all over the place. One minute the character is crying in the closet because she found out her girlfriend was lying to her and the next thing you know they are all over each other. Jay had to be the worse girlfriend ever but Jill was so damn boring it was ridiculous. I personally can’t stand a character who life revolves around no one but their partner. Like what about your hobbies and friends and dreams and goals? I guess all of that goes out the window when you date. And once Jill got with Zach I thought it would get better for her in that aspect but nope she decided to have Zach baby, move In with him and we never really here about her wanting to tech dance ever again. 🤦🏾♀️
Secondly the there were homophobic undertones all up and through this book. Mentioning that being a lesbian was a bad faze when the character was lusting after a women is nuts to me. Also forgiving your father for killing your mother is crazy ass hell to me. I get it forgiveness is a good thing to do but there would be no way in hell I could forgive something like that as well as forgiving my sister after she tried to have you killed and threatened to have have the same thing done to your wife is just insane and then not understanding why your wife is upset about it is just stupid.. I just had so many issues with this book.. and I will not be continuing with the next two.

This book was good and long. Tamara Thompson did a great job of narrating the story. The ins and outs of all the different relationships added layers to the story that I didn't expect. I kept thinking Zachary just let J go. She had such an evil spirit no matter what. Vengeance will take you down a dark dark road that leads to self-destruction. One of my favorite scenes was when Jill stood up to Zachary and informing him that he will not raise his voice. The scene was superb and the Jamaican accent came across authentic. Great job Honey! kaybeesbookshelf team member Tamara @tblackallday
This is the first urban fiction book I have ever read and honestly it has me hooked!!! so much drama and so much detail that it’s like watching a movie play in your head as you’re reading. Just when you think it’s gonna end on a happy note the author turns you for a loop to draw you back in for the second book!
This was a good read but Zach was a typical man that thinks he has all the right answers and for some time only considered himself and what he thought was best for those around him. If any somebody tried to kill me, that would be the end of the relationship. And honestly, the way Zach manipulated Jill back to JA just to make her stay, I probably would’ve divorced him after that.
Zac and Jill were dead ass wrong. Period point blank. Its not excuses and its no way i would have sat there and celebrated that as if they were. Yeah jay was tripping and doing the most but to be honest I don’t blame her. This is some messy messy drama.
The beginning had me questing whether this would be a good book. After things picked up, it definitely got better. There are some grammar issues but overall a good, entertaining read.
