Can't believe Mr. Sudeep is getting more than one star from me..
Honestly speaking, this book was lot lot better than his other works or rather I should call po*n books..

At least, this book doesn't exploit his beyond genius IQ while designing female friends again..

This book has comparatively well developed characters and plot line.
Sentiments and respect in the book is appreciated..

Gripping Romantic Thriller

Easy and Engaging read from the first chapter till the end.
The Prologue about mind and soul is very relevant in reality.
The author has portrayed each and every character with the utmost significance of their own and every one of them has done justice to their respective roles throughout the story.
The story revolves around Sibling's unconditional love through thick and thin.
I loved the scene where the sisters introduce their partners to Kartik.
Unexpected happenings surprises you and unfolding of the mystery make you edgy.
I finished the book in one sitting as I was curious to know what happens next.
The Interrogations arises a lot of questions in the mind of the readers.
There are many versions of the story. Would Kartik be able to separate lies from the truth?
Brace your seatbelts to experience the roller-coaster journey of mystery, secrets, suspense, investigations, beliefs, trust, and shocking revelations.

Lovely Quotes from the Book:

* Memories are like Fire. They can inspire us or burn us as nothing else can.
* Time is our birthright and our only luxury; it's also a curse when we can't bring back the past or the loved ones we have lost.
* There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.
* Emotions are like the tides of the sea; they have their ups and downs. And you never knew when calm waves would churn in a storm.
* Nobody really knows your struggles as you go through Life. Part of the reality of life is a hardship.

Won't stand by this book

The writing is very dull and repetitive. While the author has a good story and few unexpected twists, the prose has been written like a badly written bollywood script. I would not recommend this book.

Too much time to build the plot

End was in haste and the plot building took most of the book. It is boring at times and I just flipped through the pages to read the end.

"Life has 2 five letter words which no one can escape: truth and Karma"

Story : 25-year-old girl, Ruhi is found dead a day after her birthday, Her brother is convinced that she was murdered.

Easy and Engaging read from the first chapter till the end.

The story is well emotionally described.

The author has portrayed each and every character with the utmost significance of their own and every one of them has done justice to their respective roles throughout the story.

Unexpected happenings surprises you and unfolding of the mystery make you edgy.

Also, ending was good but it was not a surprise, you have already left some voids which tells that who is going to be killer.
It was the way of presentation which made it different.

Piece of crappy murder tale laced with a couple of garbage romantic stories and a heavy dose of emotional cesspool. The author actually seems to be an Indian Mills and Boons incarnate. Why he chose to pen a murder mystery is beyond my abilities to fathom.
TRASH book for a reader seeking serious murder mysteries. Perhaps meant for those who are romance readers and wanted a bit of spike in their regular dose of romance novels.

Just a below average novel consisting a petulant narration of the story and a temporizing climax. One needs to be very patient while reading these Kind of novels. The only positive thing about this novel is that it has got a good twist at the end.
Can give a try if you're interested in reading a dull story with limited number of characters.
Finally dear sudeep nagarkar ....I will never stand by you :)

Stand By Me! written by Sudeep Nagarkar is a gripping romantic thriller. I liked reading it.

I was hooked to this book from the first paragraph of the prologue, about mind and soul, it's was interesting.

After that I read the book in one sitting, it's a page turner as it just made me curious to know what exactly happened to Ruhi, who was found dead in her bedroom on the day of her 25th birthday and how the hell life of these siblings Dipika, Kartik and Ruhi became so complicated.

All the characters were so beautifully written. I liked each character as they come up in the story and have made good impression. Untill, the truth was revealed and I hated the culprit with much more intensity than I liked. I want to mention that, Dipika is such a strong character.

Kartik who couldn't handle this trauma and went in to depression and was under treatment for 7 months and after his coming back from the treatment how things drastically change and he is still unable to accept what the others are believing that Ruhi had committed suicide and the incapability of his to regain what exactly happen that night and is not able to decipher between what's a lie and what's truth. And over that nobody is believing his story which he is telling from the starting. In this process they lose more loved ones. I guessed about who could have done it, but wanted so desperately to be wrong with my thought. In the end when mystery unfolds I was like why the hell did you do this and I have to be right with my guess, for hiding one truth you did all this, seriously?? and ruined so many lives.

I loved the unconditional love of the siblings towards each other, inspite of what they have faced in there teenage. The faith Kartik have on Ruhi that she could never commit suicide and that she could never hide anything from him and keep sticking to that view of his, whatever anyone said.

Favorite quotes:

~ 'If there wasn't anything,there wouldn't be anything.'

~ Memories are like fire. They can inspire us or burn us like nothing else can.

~ Time is our birth right and our luxury; it's also a curse when we can't bring back the past or the loved ones we have lost. Destiny cannot be erased, any more than a birthmark at the centre of the forehead.

~ No one can escape from : TRUTH and KARMA

"Stand by me" is a murder mystery with an emotional touch. The story is about siblings Dipika, Kartik and Ruhi. They don't live with their parents. It is because their father remarries another woman after their mother's death and the new mother doesn't like them at all. Now Dipika being the eldest takes responsibility for the other two. Father supports them financially of course but not emotionally. Eventually, boyfriends Tushar and Mihir enter the life of Dipika and Ruhi respectively. This family has a common friend named Pooja.

On her 25th birthday, Ruhi is found dead. Kartik sees a stalker outside the house. The investigation starts but the case is closed concluding it was a suicide. Kartik gets depressed and sent to the hospital for treatment. After the doctor declares him mentally stable and gives him a discharge, he gets to know another shocking truth about Ruhi. And he sees the stalker once again!

Who is the stalker Kartik sees? Is he real or just exists in Kartik's mind? The unknown stalker only is supposed to provide all answers but? But, I can't reveal the further story. Read on your own and find out the truth that affirms your faith in Karma!

The story keeps you doubting all characters in the story. Such is the skillful writing of Sudeep. Another high point of Sudeep's writing is that book by book, he writes in more and more simple English and his sentences don't contain unnecessary jargon and figurative language. He also avoids describing unnecessary details about things, places, persons which may not help the story. Language flow is smooth as if we are listening to melodious music. Words come one after the other like we hear tunes in soothing music.

This is the second book of Sudeep I read after "That's the way we met". Next, I am planning to read is "A Second Chance". I strongly recommend this book to all who like combo dishes of love story and suspense.

Below are some lines which I liked in the book:
• Memories are like fire. They can inspire us or burn us as nothing else can.
• Our lives are like unfinished works of art that need a retouch every now and then.
• Some things in life are learned only with experience.
• Some things in life should be revealed only at the right time.

"Time is our birth right and our only luxury; it’s also a curse when we can’t bring back the past or the loved ones we have lost."

"A Sibling is a lense through which you see your CHILDHOOD..."

Deepika, Karthik and Ruhi are siblings. When they were small their mother passed away and their step mother came in their life to make things miserable. They got separated from their father yet their bond was strong that no one could break them apart. Their love is unconditional and they stand besides each other through thick and thin.

But faith decided something else when the younger one Ruhi passed away on her 25th birthday. Karthik went into depression yet he was very sure that it wasn't a suicide and a murder. Deepika was all alone dealing with her younger brother and a loss of her youngest sister. Deepika, Karthik are haunted by Ruhi ghost. Police interrogates everyone yet again as for them its a suicide yet they must have been never thought that this time they shall find something new which will move the case ahead and will get a proper closure. Stand By Me! by Sudeep Nagarkar

📓Genre: Mystery Thriller Suspense

Star: 🌟🌟🌟

🔖Although it's primarily a murder-mystery novel, this book has a strong focus on the bonds of love shared between siblings.
🔖Trying to cope with the death of their mother and the growing indifference of their father after his remarriage ― three siblings ― Kartik, Dipika & Ruhi ― find solace in each other's company.
🔖However, even that proves temporary when Ruhi ends up dead, leaving Kartik devastated. Not willing to accept her death as a case of suicide, he resolves to leave no stone unturned to prove that his youngest sibling had actually been murdered.
🔖The story follows his desperate search as he tries to figure out clues that can eventually lead him to the murderer.
🔖The book is well-paced, although I feel some of the descriptive parts, emphasizing the sibling bond ― could've been edited out to make the plotline more interesting & smooth.
🔖However, the story has a good quotient of suspense & a detailed narration of the emotional psyche.
🔖If you like emotional thrillers, I think you can give this book a read.

🔸Final verdict: Good for emotional-thriller lovers
🔸Book cover: The cover is interesting
🔸Writing style: Descriptive.
🔸Character development: I think the author could've further explored the secondary characters.

The story is about 3 siblings who are trying to cope up with the tragedy of their mother's death, and their father's indifference after his second marriage, by creating a world of their own. They are absolutely happy in the company of their friends, when the younger sister dies. The rest of the story revolves around the brother who is devastated and is trying hard to prove that his sister is killed.

The plot is commendably thrilling. I had an inclination towards the murderer after reading 70% of the book, but I could not be sure. Writing was refreshing and engaging.

I would still give it 3 stars because what I found weird was too much emphasis on the bond shared by the siblings! There were lengthy paragraphs written on their love, which were taking away the pleasure of a fast paced mystery.
Suspense, however, as I mentioned earlier kept me hooked. Also, the narration of what the brother's mind was going through when he was under psychiatric care was very nicely written.

Ruhi is found dead in her room on the next day of her birthday. Her friend, her elder brother and her boyfriend give her a surprise birthday party the day before. Her brother wakes up remembering only a few words which he heard just before dozing off. He is convinced that Ruhi was killed and suspects a mystery man who he had seen around the house. With numerous revelations in the story, it is for you to find out whether Ruhi killed herself or someone killed her and if so, who was it.

The story highlights the bond between the siblings and I liked the way the thought process of each character is portrayed. Suspense is very well maintained in the book. The points of view of every character after reading will make you feel that each character is right.

The book is a quick one time read.

This story starts from Ruhi's death on her birthday. The police conclude that it was suicide but his brother, Kartik didn't accept and try to find the murderer. Due to her death, he lost his mental health and was hospitalized.

After recovery of his condition, he started to find Ruhi's murderer. He was sure she couldn't commit suicide. And his other elder sister Dipika didn't want to get into any trouble. Meanwhile, Dipika's boyfriend Tushar also helped kartik to find out the murderer.

Kartik, Dipika and Ruhi lived away from their parents due to father's second marriage. These three loved each other very much. Ruhi's death left a scar on everyone's life.
I liked the chemistry of Tushar and Ruhi's boyfriend and kartik's friend, Mihir.

This was my second book of this author after Sorry, You're not My Type. Overall, I liked the story. The book cover was also very interesting.

Review: This piece is very close to my heart. I started my English novels reading journey with this book. Though it is not a novel it is a novella.
This book is written in a very easy language. One can easily read it quickly in a few hours. It belongs to Romantic Thriller Genres.

Summery:It is a story build up around 3 siblings. Ruhi (the younger one), Kartik ( the middle one), and Deepika (the eldest one). Ruhi was found dead in her room after her 25th birthday. When everyone was convinced that she killed herself, her brother Kartik knew that it was a murder. Kartik went insane in his sisters grief. In fact, Deepika's best efforts also couldn't help him recover. He tried to take his life. Then only he was been admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

There the doctor's also couldn't help him to overcome his depression or suppress the turmoil inside him. Then he decided he will behave well in the hospital so that they release him as soon as possible and he can find his sister's murderer.

Here's a crime thriller by @sudeepnagarkar
Its a story that revolves around three siblings who stand for each no matter what until Ruhi was murdered on her 25th birthday, though everybody believed it was a suicide including the police but her brother Kartik was firm on his decision that it was a murder and he was sure it was the stalker whom he saw the night on his sister's birthday.

But story takes a turn when Kartik himself starts to find the murderer but the more deep he went to find the more he lost someone close to him and everytime he was near to finding who the murderer he finds a new story.
The story ends at a twist but somehow I was guessing it was him towards the end but it still came as a surprise to me!!

KARMA IS KARMA

Amazing story, how karma can catch you, you will never know. Good deeds come back with good and bad deeds are going to make you suffer. Choose wisely, accept your mistakes.
Is it a murder or a suicide, one lie is enough to take three-four lives. How a brother fight for his sister, the faith that he kept even after everyone calling him mad was heartwarming. This story has everything love, friendship, trust, betrayal, thrill, support, and crime scenes. Everything was in front but still complicated, these complications made this story more thrilling. And now I am attached to it.

This book was one of the random choices I made in the thriller genre to read and I am happy that I choose it. From the beginning, the author grips you in into the story and keeps you engaged till the end. The language used is very neat and simple which is the biggest plus point of the book, hence you will find yourself living the story; which ultimately eliminates the use of a dictionary in between and ruining the flow of the book. The narration is smart and intriguing and doesn't give you the slightest hint of who would be the murderer until the end. As per my view, this book should be a must-read for every age group people.

A decent book about the emotional experiences a person goes with when a part of his heart is cut from his/her body and one has to live with the reality that it wont come back and repair with the community. The protagonist deals his pain while having a doubt on his near-dear ones while trying to
analyze the actual reason behind her sisters death.

I expected some more twist to come out before the end hit.

As i said its a decent book, I'm going away with 3 stars for this one. It can definitely be read once.

The story starts with the murder of Kartik's sister, Ruhi. Ruhi is a fun loving, full of life kind of girl. The rest of the book is focused on how Kartik goes about finding out the truth.
The story is well written, gripping and engaging. It holds the readers attention from start to finish. It's a quick and easy read.

My only criticism is that the sibling bond has been over explained to the reader. The writer tells the readers repeatedly that the siblings are so close that it is hard to explain and at the same time painstakingly explains the same bond at length and in detail.

I recommend this book for thriller lovers. I've only read thriller novels like the girl in room no.105, the wrong vantage point by comparing those books This one really awesome from my point of view, also this book shows the relationship bond between the siblings. The author has done a really good job by taking me into the scene he really made me feel that I was present in the scene and how I feel! Those things were really appreciable and the suspense in this was not revealed till the end and I really felt the adrenaline rush in this story! I highly recommend it!
