Leo Ridgeway has spent his life building an empire for the girl he’s always called his. She brings him to life with nothing more than a smile or a touch. A social butterfly, her wings are too beautiful to clip. He’s resigned himself to being her best friend and letting her grow... for now.
Rochelle Jackson has been in love with Leo her whole life. He treats her like the little sister he never had. He runs his billionaire empire with an iron fist, but when it comes to her, he only gives her sweetness. Unbeknownst to him, she wants much more than that. She has to know if he’s willing to give her every part of him.
But if Leo doesn’t stop keeping his distance, his brilliant butterfly might get away.
It was meh, idk, I didn't enjoy it, and the chemistry between the MCs is non-existent. There's a lot of plot holes and things for which I didn't get answers or clarity. I wish I could say I had fun with it, but unfortunately, that's not the case.
Leo (??) and Ro (18) have been friends since they were young; he's her older brother's best friend. And now that she's finally legal of age, Leo wanted to finally claim his girl. It turns out they're mutually pining for one another, and the next thing I know, he's propositioning her with a fake engagement but with a real engagement ring. This "faking" didn't even last for a day, and they ended up doing sweet and hot couple-y things together.
Anyway, in the end, they got married, but I was already done with this novella. I was bored reading it, considering this is already a short read. 😩 Other readers might enjoy this, though. 🤷♀️

This is Leo and Ro's love story, from friends to lovers. Cute, short and straightforward.
Dual virgins
Only thing I don't like about the couple books I've read by this author is that she includes multiple couples in her novellas. All the side couples detract from the specialness of the book's couple. I prefer to only read about one couple because I start comparing everyone and hoping that the main couple is somehow better?
A bit too boring for my liking. There's not much of a plotline, it's more like a longer inner monologue about how much they love the other one. We do have good steam in this one, true, and I did like Leo's character but the heroine didn't sit well with me, she was too immature, pretty spoilt, quite dumb and generally annoying tbh. And for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what exactly it was that she was doing in Leo's company, in her own private office (!!!) since she did absolutely zero job and pretty much relaxed all the time or shopped online. All in all, I like my novellas steamy but this one was a miss for me. Hence the rating.
This was my first book by Lucy Darling and I really enjoyed it. It was super sweet and a lot of sexy! Leo was so in love with Ro but wanted to give her time to grow and live. The moment Ro started showing signs of reciprocating his feelings he lost control and set out to claim his woman. Ro May have been young but she knew what and who she wanted and went in with her heart and eyes open. It was a really nice read!
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No om drama, not really ow drama but one of his assistants has a crush on him and h really dislikes her. H never notices his assistant because he only has eyes for the h. Minor family drama. Both are virgins. No abuse.
Leo oh Leo.. he has been in love with his best friends younger sister so he makes sure he always near her watching out for her BUT keeping her at arms length.. waiting for the right moment to tell her he loves her and let's her grow as a person in the world. As for Rochelle she has also in love with Leo she tries to give hints and the way she acts but he doesnt pay attention or he is so blind about the moves she does. Making her think maybe he doesnt feel the same way. So she had enough saying shes going to date someone THAT has Leo on fire and making sure everyone knows Rochelle is his woman.. for a split second Rochelle thinks it's fake but it isnt. And add family drama to it.. boy oh boy.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, tiny drama, slight secondary chara, Sexy times, both virgins

A couple who have loved each other for ages and waited for each other finally give into their feelings in this book. There's some drama, followed by a HEA.
- Friends to lovers - H 18 and H a few years older - Dual V - Brother best friend - Fake dating - Novella
This is how you write a friends to lovers, brother bff and “it’s always been you”. He only had eyes for her, and waited till she was ready for him. He decorated his house after what she loved and didn’t even move in before he made her his.
Safe, one employee is interested, never causes any drama because the H fires her before things can get that far.
I mean, this was just really fun- it was a very simple, straightforward story, with some cute characters. For my first book by LD, I have to say it went pretty nicely.
I love this author fan girling here! She was new for me after I read the first book in this series I instantly one clicked this little gem.
The read is super quick but it has so much romance and steam packed into the read you can’t help but not put down.
It’s drama free. It’s old school romance. Boy sees girl and knows instantly that she’s it for him.
What’s cute is that neither are fully aware of each other’s feelings. It’s going to be full steam ahead once the blinkers are off.
A Alpha with a capital A. He’s a billionaire, he’s super protective of Rochelle. He’s also a virgin.thats right he knew he could never look at anyone else. Rochelle is it for him.
This is the second book in the Meany To series and it was just as good as the first. Leo and Ro’s story was set up really well in the first book.
I love that they basically knew they were meant to be since they were kids. Seeing Leo break because he couldn’t wait for her anymore was a treat.
A fun read.
Read 2: I’d probably downgrade this to a 4.5. It’s still a great story but it just didn’t quite have the punch that the first book in the series did. Though there is some beautiful writing in there about them being meant for each other.
Any romance book that starts with a Winnie the Pooh quote (I kid you not) deserves to be read.
A short little novella from Kindle Unlimited which was saccharine. Perhaps the quote should have clued me in but I was ok to take a chance given the length of the story.
The plot revolves around a hero who has always loved his best friend's sister and was only waiting for her to grow up before he could sweep her off her feet. Both leads are crazy about each other, though the is hero borderline actual crazy.
He spend a lot of his inner monologue / chapter time telling us that "he was crazy" about the heroine and that he had always fancied her and was just waiting until she turned 18. It was very sweet but the constant barrage of the same thing chapter on chapter made me OD on the sugar. The hero is supposed to be this cold fish except when it comes to her. He comes across as a little one-note to almost a little obsessive.
Mostly this is due to the length and the focus on the same beats. It's not bad but not memorable either - I got a little bored by the end.
Ro and Leo have been in love with each other for years, but neither thought they were interested. However, they’ve both been doing subtle things to bring them closer together until Leo somehow ends up with Ro as his fake fiancé.
This was fun. There was some awkward wording that I think could’ve been solved with a good editor. Romance was fine, in the same vein as Alexa Riley stories. Wasn’t too erotic for me, unfortunately.
I wouldn’t keep this on my shelf for now but I’m interested in reading the other book in the series.
I gobbled this one up! I love this one even more than the first book. It's the perfect sweet quick read that satisfied my hopeless romantic heart. ❤️✨️

DAYUMMM!!! This book was pure magic, punched me right in the feelzz and brought the swoon! Absolutely loved! The MCs chemistry and yearning and their emotional connection and steamy times were all perfect! This is why I love this author!!
Totally safe. Dual virgins. Small unwanted attention from ow, no OM. No cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue
2.5 Stars This book was okay. I think I just wanted more out of it than I got. I was only interested in the main couple for the first couple chapters or so and then I lost interest. I ended up skim reading through the rest of the book.
4.5 stars I’m loving the alpha males by this author. This one did not disappoint. I highly recommend this author if you are looking for an insta love romance story.
“I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to her. I’ll also show her we’ll never have a family like the ones we grew up in. We’ll be a part of our children's lives. We’ll love them with everything we have because that’s how we love one another.”
