Cole:

Dane was everything I wanted to be in high school. Popular, confident, insanely hot. He was also my best friend and secret crush until I managed to screw that up.

When I see him again after nearly a decade apart, I’m floored. If anything, he’s even sexier. But more importantly, he’s not holding any grudges. In fact, he seems…interested in me. And when my soon-to-be sister-in-law drops a little secret about him, I’m done for.

I want him. It doesn’t have to be forever. I just need one night, one down and dirty interlude on my primarily vanilla existence, and I’ll be set for life.

Dane:

The second I spot Cole at his brother’s wedding, I might as well be back in high school all over again.

All those old feelings come rushing back: the pining—my god, the pining I did for this man—and all the regret I’ve carried for being too afraid to tell him back then.

But now that Cole’s out of the closet and looking for something a little...different, I can’t resist. Because that happens to be my forte, and I’m more than happy to give him exactly what he needs.

One wild night should be enough to leave us both satisfied, right?

REUNION is 35K words of angst-free humor, swoony moments, mild impact play (caning), creative and liberal use of dessert foods, and two men who get the second chance they deserve with each other.

Neve Wilder

Neve Wilder lives in the southern U.S., where the summers are hot and the winters are...sometimes cold. She is a mom to three rambunctious weebeasts who have joined forces in a mission to carpet the family home with toys and small items that really suck to step on at six in the morning.

She reads promiscuously, across multiple genres, but her favorite stories always contain an element of romance. Incidentally, this is also what she likes to write. Slow-burners with delicious tension? Yes. Whiplash-inducing page-turners, also yes. Down and dirty scorchers? Yes. And every flavor in between.

Neve isn't keen on being limited to one type of story or a single genre. If you enjoy slow burns and musicians, the Rhythm of Love series might be up your alley.

You'll find high heat, crackling sexual tension, and a variety of angst levels in the new adult Extracurricular Activities series that begins with Want Me.

Like smart-ass antiheroes and super steamy thrill rides? Stay tuned for the upcoming Wages of Sin series, which begins with Bad Habits.

If you need a good cry, Center of Gravity is a standalone age-gap slow burn that examines grief, enduring love, and imperfect characters doing their best (or worst, as it were) in shitty situations.

Neve fervently believes David Bowie was the sexiest musician to ever live, and she's always game to nerd out on anything from music to writing.

And finally, she believes that love conquers all. Except the heat index in July. Nothing can conquer that bastard.

Maybe I need the cone of shame? Because this book just didn't do it for me, like at all.

The way the men reunited at the beginning of the story was flat and uninspiring. You don't see your best friend for years, and the first thing you talk about is how this twink on the dance floor is hot? What? Why?

And why were the secondary characters, Shay, Aaron, and Chase, so integral to the story? Especially Chase, who is super present in the epilogue even. I was totes irritated.

The MCs themselves felt one-dimensional. The kink sort of came out of nowhere, and while I appreciate that there WAS actual kink, I also just didn't care enough about the MCs to read about them being kinky.

The pacing of the story was off too: slow at the beginning and then almost frantic. Something about the writing style bugged. The voices of the characters were interchangeable.

This was only the second book I've read by Neve Wilder, and I'm not too keen to read another.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Let them eat cake stars.
🔥🔥🔥🔥/5 Heat
🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂/5 Creative use of cake.

"Cole fixed me with a scrupulous stare, then waggled his brows. 'We've never incorporated pies before.' 'Don't get me hard in a dessert line.' It was a moot point. Cole could make a pair of socks sexy. 'Not my fault that you have some weird food fetishes.' 'Actually it is. I never had the desire to smear someone in dessert until you came along,' I reminded him."

It's safe to say that I'll never look at cake the same way again.

I've made no secret of the fact that Neve Wilder's, Want Me is one of the hottest books I've read this year. Since reading that one early in the year, I've read and loved all of her books. They've all had that perfect mix of steam, snark and feels. Her couples always have this chemistry that, if it could be bottled, people would pay for. "Want Me," though had an extra layer of naughty deliciousness. That's why I was beyond delighted to find that she brought that extra layer of yummy to, "Reunion." Get your fan out. I know it's November but trust me, you'll need it. I still love, “Want Me,” the most as far as high heat books go but this one is a good one! 🔥

"Reunion," is a second chance romance. Cole and Dane, best friends in high school, meet up at the wedding of Cole's brother, nearly ten years later. They lost touch after high school, but never forgot each other or the feelings they were too scared to reveal back then. Can they get their acts together this time?

"My bucket of fucks felt surprisingly light and the idea of ending the weekend without experiencing the man who'd haunted my dirtiest fantasies for years was unfathomable right now."

I loved everything about this book. It had zero angst, delectable kink, sweet feels and humor. And then there's that whole cake thing...

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and thoughts on cake are my own.

I think even Marie Antoinette last queen of France would have quoted herself and say "Let them eat cake"

Please, call the Fire department my Kindle and I are engulf in flames!!!!😁😊😜
HFS this is one hot AF , sexy , fun and sweet Rom-Com.

The same author, who wrote Want Me and changed how I view libraries bookcases for the rest of my life. Have done it again!!

I will never see a strawberry cake and vanilla ice cream without getting all squirrelly and excited. Yep, just like Cole , one of the heroes of Reunion said "I have Pavlovian reactions now. I'm ruined."
Cole and Dane description
Reunion by Neve Wilder will make you laugh and horny in equal measures. A very entertaining, light hearted and and feel good story.

I especially liked reading this book because after a complicated day at work, this tale took me out of my head space and left me feeling better and lighter.

I received a copy of Reunion and am leaving my voluntarily opinion.

I like more angst in my stories or at least some kind of conflict. This was too lackluster for me. But the writing is good.

Confused and underwhelmed...yikes.

Something about the story was just off for me. I don't understand why there was a such a heavy emphasis on the side characters (Shay/Aaron, Chase) in a novella. I thought it was a follow-up for a previous couple somewhere but I cannot find a story for Shay & Aaron anywhere unless I'm just stupid. And then the epilogue was partly about Chase which made zero sense and came out of left field.

I wish the story had focused more on Cole and Dane, particularly giving us more information about their past. Maybe even some flashbacks to when they were best friends in high school or more of an explanation of their feelings for each other. The kink exploration wasn't well-developed IMO as Cole practically flipped a switch and was down for anything and everything. I also didn't find it all that steamy, surprisingly, considering how much I loved Want Me which was so hot it almost melted my Kindle.

The relationship development happened mostly off-page through a time jump, then before it jumps again to the epilogue which gave me no real closure. Unfortunately, I'm left feeling rather underwhelmed by the story as a whole.

This was very enjoyable, I liked it a lot.

This story is about Cole and Dane, high school friends who drifted apart after Dane came out to Cole, and Cole, who was closeted himself and still too scared to come to terms with his sexuality, didn't react the best and pulled away.

Ten years after seeing each other, they meet up again at Cole's brother's wedding rehearsal dinner, as Dane is a friend of Shay's, the bride and Cole's new sister-in-law.

At the wedding, they give into their desire and hook up after the wedding after they leave the reception, and it is hot and kinky and oh so sexy. The passion and chemistry leapt of the page between these two.

They exchange numbers and hope to stay friends after their hook up, but they clearly become more than that. Cole lives a three hour drive away, but pretty soon after their first hook up, they go on a date that goes amazingly - and the sex that involves some dessert ;) - they start seeing each other over the weekends, and they soon can't stay away from each other.

I enjoyed this short, but fun and sexy tale, I enjoyed these two together, and I loved where this ended up.

Two thumbs up from me, definitely recommend! :D

HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT

Not sure how this little Neve book slipped through my fingers but I’m glad I found it! Neve does spice SOOOOO WELL what the fuck.

This is a little kinky but in a very wholesome sort of way and boy oh boy when I tell you I would be a puddle on the floor as soon as Dane looked at me. That man is sex on a stick.

Don’t read it for the plot (there is hardly any) or the relationship building (I thought it was sweet but the meet cute requires a lot of suspension of disbelief if I’m honest) but DO read it for the spice. This is a novella, and again, it would have benefitted overall from more pages, but it’s perfect for what it is. And that is porn.

Well done Neve 👏

Light, easy, hot read. I love second chance romances, especially when it's between childhood friends. Cole and Dane's interactions at first didn't show the close friendship that they supposedly had, but as the story went on and we learned more of what happened when they drifted apart it made more sense. I liked how well they complemented each other, they were exactly what the other needed.

I think this is my favorite from the series yet. It was fun and flirty and a best friends to lovers, which is my favorite romance trope. I liked that there was more plot than sex, even if there was a lot of casual discussion of sex. There is a scene with cake that hurt my feelings as a baker though 😂 (I just couldn't handle if someone did that with a cake I made 😅)

CW: explicit sex including use of canes and sex toys. Discussion of parental neglect and disowning (minor).

If you are looking for a book with zero to no angst, second chance love and a whole new kink to explore... this one is for you!!! Neve wrote one of the best sex scenes I had the pleasure to read, amd just when I thought things couldn't be better... we have Reunion and the unbelievable kitchen sex. Strawberry will never be the same this!
Awesome book, perfect writing - just like all the ones she wrote - and steamy level hot as ever 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I loved it. It was sweet and perfect and light and fun. And after heavy things it was exactly what I needed. Two men reunite after being friends most of their childhood.
Gosh the smexy was hawt, and the the fun with the food. Heck I’ll never look at cake the same.
The writing was great as usual with this author, their was the perfect amount of banter, and love and smexy.
Ready for more from both the author and the series

Friends to lovers, kink, hot dialogue and sweetness.

Cole and Dane have epic chemistry and we see how they use it. Eeeek. I will never look at cake, ice cream and chocolate syrup the same way!
This will definitely be in my re-read list.

This is part of Ace's Wild series.
It was cute, and adorable, heartwarming even. But the sex was quite 'not my cup of tea'.
Maybe I'll agree to Jason the ex at some point, LOL.
Overall, Dane and Cole were definitely made for each other, especially in the sex part.

I guess this kind of series just isn’t for me, and that’s okay.

The high interest in talking about each other’s sex lives, talking about sex clubs, letting your brother in law know that his ex did scenes with you, and etc came off as invasive to me.

I wanted to try something new in terms of sub genres, but ultimately it wasn’t something I found enjoyment in. It mostly just made me uncomfortable.

That’s solely my experience; no doubt other reviews will be more favorable than mine.

The last (as of the posting of this review) of the Neve Wilder books didn't disappoint.

Cole and Dane had v. distinct voices. I enjoyed their banter because it showed not only that they had once been best friends, but also how neither really angsted over misunderstanding and/or miscommunication. (As y'all know, those two things are the bane of my romance novel-reading existence).

The way they ended up hooking up didn't feel that abrupt to me, either. Their first sex scene (which featured some impact play) was my favorite.

Dane, as the most experienced of the two, never had any airs or pretentious vibes just because kink play was literally new to Cole. It could be argued that Cole took to the kink explorations a tad too easy, but that wasn't an issue for me.

There was a latter sex scene featuring food play that I didn't enjoy as much (since it isn't my cuppa.) OTOH, YKINMYATOK.

One thing I gave thumbs up to was that there weren't many flashbacks or "remember when"'s between Cole and Dane. As in: the book did show a few scenes from the past, but didn't exclusively rely on them to sell the idea that Cole and Dane had been really good buds.

Things kinda went eh around the second half of the book. For one thing, there were two bits of conflict that were solely about Cole (abt his job and a flaky ex-boyfriend). Which I thought was a little weird since the book was told from both Cole AND Dane's POVs.

I also didn't like that the problems were resolved rather quickly for my liking. In a way, I wondered why they'd been brought up in the first place. And there was the fact that I finished this longer novella (abt 141 pages) with only the vaguest idea about Dane. As in, the book told a lot abt his backstory but, I dunno, it felt somewhat incomplete to me.

Another thing that annoyed me was Shea (Cole's younger sister). It was obvious she loved her brother and that they had a fairly solid sibling dynamic. HOWEVUH, she was a hardcore oversharer and I found myself inwardly cringing at her TMI convos with Cole about sex lives (hers, Cole's and everyone else's). Perhaps my bias was brought up from knowing people like Shea IRL and rarely (if ever) warming up to them.

The OTTnes of her sex talks really grated my nerves.

Finally, I had to side-eye the epilogue. There were babies (not Cole/Dane's) and a wedding (ditto). But the thing that made me sigh rather loudly was the hinted at marriage proposal that the book ends on. #Ugh,Really?

TL;DR: Book 7 in a series that I picked up without having any intention to read the rest of the entries. FTR, the ONLY connecting thread between all the book is that, sooner or later, the MCs in each book go to an adult store called Ace's Wild and end up buying an adult toy.

So you won't feel lost if you only read this book or any of the rest of the authors in the series.

I liked the MCs and was pretty happy with most of the sex scenes. Latter plot developments, however, were a little tiresome. I also disliked one of the secondary characters because I found her more than a little obnoxious.

What a great read by Neve Wilder 🎂❤️🎂

This short, sweet romance between high school friends who meet up ten years later, was the perfect combination of hot, sexy and all the feels! It was so easy to fall in love with these two, I could totally go for more of Cole and Dane!

The character and relationship development between these two was spot on. Sometimes novellas can feel rushed to me, but I didn't get that at all here. Maybe it's because the guys had been close in high school, I don't know, regardless the journey to find their HEA was perfect.

The connection between Cole and Dane was explosive and the banter between the two of them made my heart melt. The ability to pull me into her world and love these men has quickly made Neve Wilder a #OneClick author for me ❤️

My my, I don't know how I missed this book since I typically fall all over myself trying to get my hands on any new release from Wilder. And what a pleasantly sweet and smoking hot surprise it was!

I haven't read any of the other parts of this series but I think it totally works as a standalone. Sometimes it's so nice to read a story with virtually zero angst. Where the chemistry of the characters practically jumps off the page because they get along so effortlessly. So perfectly.

I really loved Cole and Dane, and that cake scene was 🔥

I highly recommend. I know I'll be reading this one again and again.

Nice little read from Neve Wilder, featuring two of my fave tropes...friends to lovers and second chances. Fairly kinky featuring impact play and the best use of strawberry cake, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce that I've ever read about 😀...just thinking about it is making my stomach rumble 😉.

I enjoyed this one well enough, but wasn't wowed by it. I appreciated that there was actual kink in this one (so many of the other books have been super vanilla for a series centering on a sex shop) and I liked that the Ace & Wilder cameo wasn't super hokey as it has been in just about every other book, but something about the characters and connection here didn't 100% work for me. Hard to put my finger on what, but I just felt a bit meh about the characters. And, TBH, food smut is kind of a squick for me, so that didn't help matters. Not a bad read, but not amazing, either.

Sadly this didn't work for me.

This story felt emotionless.

Too much side characters for such a short novela. Especially Chase. He felt like a side character who popped up from another book.

Wasn't feeling the kink.

This just didn't feel like a second chance romance.

I really love Neve Wilders Want Me so I'm surprised at my feelings towards this one.

Very hot!
The two MC’s, Cole and Dane, had great chemistry. The cake scene OMG 🔥 That gets 5 stars for creativity!
It would have been 5 stars if it had been longer. I would have loved more scenes from when they were teens so their connection would have been more present when their adult story began. But that’s my issue with short(er) stories. When it’s good I always wished there was more!

I don’t know why I couldn’t connect with this. I have loved almost all of Neve Wilder’s books but this doesn’t seem to have been written by the same author. I felt no connection between the MC’s and I was not feeling the talk of Dane’s previous sex life or scenes he did. I just can’t go on.
