Sometimes, for any bibliophile, a single short story can be a wonderful getaway after long books. At least, I'd like to believe so. Having read Pratibha's work since years before this short story was released, I can honestly say that I was actually looking forward to reading this!
When the "book" itself is only 18 pages, it's a bit hard to write a detailed review without giving away spoilers. The story is the interaction between two friends, one of whom is a poet who finds The Muse. Reading it brought a smile, and I suppose that's the biggest positive a story can get. It makes the reader happy. The friendship is portrayed that beautifully you see.
I wish P had made it a part of a bigger collection, because after finishing the read in under half an hour, one does feel like reading more from her. Oh well. Maybe next time, eh?
Aptly named story - The Muse. The bond between the two characters was beautifully abstract. From what began as a poetry challenge to what it grew to. What was it all about - just a muse or much beyond? It's interesting to read through that journey.
A beautiful short story about turning your emotions into eternal existence. Sometimes love is not, we all get, it's then the words of the soul turn into poetry, and the lover turns into a muse. I am eagerly waiting for the next one.
It's an adorable connection between two friends, Girish and Nalini, who connect during their job search period by way of a common friend. But, their connection stays to texts and messages while they have some feelings that become part of their muse, or at least Nalini's muse who pours it in her poetry. It's for the readers to see whether Nalini and Girish are meant to be together or there is a turn to their life after they move to different places. Although the language could be more polished, I liked the way the story weaves creative thoughts together.
I had the privilege to read the draft and yet when i read the final version... it made me cry again and smile too. I love this story though i still think that G is an idiot but... “Different strokes for Different folks” If you are a die hard romantic like me... you would like the story too! Waiting for more stories Prats!
I enjoyed reading this book. The author has a way with words which keeps you glued to the book. I enjoyed the poems in the story and autobiographical nature of the story. Would recommend this book for anyone looking for a short and sweet read.
A short and swet story about a long distance friendship that grows over time, but does not result in a romantic relationship. Good idea, needs depth. Loved the poems in it.
