Book 9 in a fun, witchy paranormal cozy mystery series! Is someone killing innocent people, or has a wave of depression swept across England? On an outing to the White Cliffs of Dover, Lily and Will hear screams. Unfortunately, they're too late to save a woman who jumped to her death. They make some brief enquiries with the police but don’t think much of what seems a straightforward suicide… until they start happening daily. Deciding to delve deeper into the tragedies, Will senses magic on one of the victims. Turning it into a full-blown investigation, the PIB asks Lily to help with her special talent, which she reluctantly does, dreading the images she might see. Unfortunately, that becomes the least of her worries when their ongoing investigation into her parents’ disappearance unearths some new leads, and Lily receives a mysterious letter, warning her to watch her back. But it’s not enough to keep her safe. Can Lily, Will, and their friends end the epidemic of suicides before too many more victims leap to their deaths? Will Lily even be around to help, or will those who want her dead catch up with her first?
I love reading and writing. I'm a mother to two teens and two Siamese cats. I've got an associate degree of creative writing and am a full-time author. I write paranormal cosy mysteries with heroines who are quirky, kind, and love to right wrongs and get justice. I also love to make people laugh and give them an awesome escape, which is why I tell stories.
I really do feel bad for Lily, she just can't catch a break. Loving her and Will's relationship even more in this book. I feel like I come home to friends when I read this series. I can't wait for the next book.
Lister gets better with each book in the series. Lily is growing in her relationships and in her magical powers. She appears to be developing her deductive powers to a very high degree.
So bloody good. Great developments, especially in the series arc. Solid pacing, lovely sweet and tender moments, and some great tension and suspense created.
This series of books is fabulous. They make for compelling and addictive reading and I can't wait for the next book to be published. I'm happy to say that I am now a firm fan of Lister who will be collecting everything she's ever written.
Can the people around Lily stop acting like she is two? They seem to belittle her at times, put her down, and treat her like a child. If they want her to know more about the magical world or be stronger, why don’t they train her? Instead of acting like everything she does or asks is a problem or an annoyance? Especially Angelica. Good grief I don’t really like that woman. She is rude, inconsiderate, especially towards Lily. You would think she would be more grateful considering Lily has saved her butt and the others more than once.
There is an increase in suicides off the White Cliffs of Dover. There is no indication of magic, except the look in the eyes of those about to step over the edge. Even when a commonality is found, no witches seem to be involved.
While there is no indication that RP, the sinister group of witches who are after Lily, are involved, there are still attacks and their threat hangs over everything.
Good thing Lily's magic and determination are only growing.
Piranha is going to be so pissed about her husband! I know part of Lilys charm is shes spacey but sometimes its a little too much. Its literally life and death at times and shes zoned out thinking about squirrels or what to eat or some random thing that doesnt matter. Its a little annoying at times.
As usual poor Lily ends up getting embroiled in dasterdly doings following what was supposed to be a leisure trip to the White cliffs of Dover. Lily just doesn't seem to get a break to enjoy some down time. Another great story.
Loved the book, tension is definitely increasing in the background story. Highly recommend this series. Funny, quirky and exciting, cannot wait to get to the next book.
Another awesome book in this excellent series. This one was often quite sad with the suicides, however, the storyline was very interesting and entertaining.
I read the first book as Westerham is near to where I live. I am now fully invested in Lily and her story. These books are an easy read with a gripping story and characters that you come to love.
Love that lily is trying to find out what happened to her parents. This book will definitely help you to realise that you should appreciate who you are. ❤️
