Sheryl Green

“Yes. Of course. I’d be happy to. It’s no problem at all.”

Sheryl Green has taken “people-pleasing” to Olympic levels. For decades, she put everyone else’s needs above her own… until she hit a metaphorical brick wall.

After committing to one too many responsibilities, Sheryl discovered the importance of boundaries… okay, she actually discovered that boundaries were even “a thing.” Now, she works with individuals and organizations to establish healthy boundaries to improve relationships, communication, and well-being.

"Goth" as a teenager, Sheryl dreamed of being an FBI Profiler and hunting down serial killers. She earned a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology but decided against spending her days in the minds of criminals. Instead, she has worked in Mental Health, Customer Service, Public Relations, Education, and the Non-Profit world. This brings a unique blend of experience and insight to her audiences.

Sheryl is the author of six books (of her own), including "Surviving to Thriving: How to Overcome Setbacks and Rock Your Life," Once Upon a Bottom Line: Harnessing the Power of Storytelling in Sales," Book Writing For Busy People," Do Good to Do Better: The Small Business Guide to Growing Your Business by Helping Nonprofits," "A Pet Parent's Guide to First Aid and Prevention," and her latest, "You Had Me at 'No': How Setting Healthy Boundaries Helps you Banish Burnout, Repair Relationships, and Save Your Sanity."

She is also an avid animal advocate, dedicating her life to providing a voice for those who cannot speak. She previously served as the Director of Communications and Cuddling for a local animal rescue and continues to donate her time, talent, and money to animal welfare organizations.

When she’s not working, she’s spending time with her husband and their two fur babies, doing yoga, and tending to a small jungle's worth of houseplants.

This book came into my hands at a time when I was researching and considering starting a subscription box business. Reading it gave me a lot of great insights and shaped my mindset on ways to incorporate giving and partnering with a non-profit with this venture. With a great combination of data to back up the benefits, storytelling, case studies, and practical advice, I'd highly recommend this to anyone thinking of incorporating giving into a small business venture.

A Great Primer on Cause Marketing

Sheryl Green is a bright marketing consultant with a fun sense of humor. You feel like Sheryl is personally talking to you at a party when reading her words. No crazy jargon is used thankfully and she certainly enjoys lightening up her sentences with a joke or two.

As for the content itself, this book works well as an introduction to cause marketing. Sheryl Green has personal experience in the field (with an animal charity) so you'll hear her anecdotes along with stories of other non-profits. Building brand collaborations for the greater good are a smart way to differentiate yourself and you'll learn how to effectively do so in this text.

Overall, I recommend this book and to give cause marketing a chance after finishing it.

Sincerely,
Billy Brophy
