FATED ON BEAR MOUNTAIN is the fifth book in the Bear Mountain Shifters series. Though each will stand on its own, I think it would be stronger if you have read the full series.

I love when we have a stranger with secrets who is the perfect mate for a beloved community icon. Poppy is that paragon within the Bear Mountain Clan and Kent is an orphan bear raised by wolves.

I took off one star for the fight scenes that are unfathomably unrealistic. For example, when Poppy first meets Kent with Scott, she and the two men are having a conversation in the middle of a bar fight and the townspeople seem to just stand back while the bears decide what they should do. Then this tiny little woman drags a big old bear of a man through the crowd and nobody protests or tries to stop them. I get it; Getting bogged down in the bar fight wasn’t instrumental to the story, but this was beyond this martial artist’s ability to suspend all reality… and it’s not the only instance. Still, I took off only one star for fight scenes, because that wasn’t the most important part of the story.

What was important, then? Romance, emotion, and community. I loved the slow release of information regarding Kent’s past. I also loved that Poppy and Kent had insta-attraction, but slow(ish) realization of each being the other’s mate.

It looks like this is the end of the Bear Mountain Shifters series, but we may next be going to Wolf Mountain. So, perhaps we’ll see more of these bears, their mates, and their cubs.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Wow brilliant

Wow what brilliant ending to the series was good to see that Poppy got her lifetime mate after seeing the rest of her close friends get there’s and she was always the one they went to Poppy to chat to. Kent came into Poppy’s life when she rescues him from the pine springs town folk who have never liked the bear mountain people because they lived differently from them even though the towns people didn’t know they where shifters. In trying to help Kent out they where followed and videotaped them shifting and the towns folk put barricades up to stop them entering the town but also one where bear mountain folk came down. The atmosphere between the town folk and bear mountain has escalated and bear mountain prepares its self for the rioting towns folk when a fire is started but ends up going towards the town pine springs residents packed up and left but as one fire was put out the next one was to burn the town down so the bears couldn’t use it. The bears, wolves and lion shifters now all use the town and are earning good money with the tourists coming into the town. Things are looking up for them all

Poppy, owner to the Diner on Bear Mountain finally finds her mate, another bear shifter. When she helps him deliver a necklace to his estranged grandfather, a journalist from Pine springs follows them and films them change and fight with the grandfather in their true form.
Pine Springs finally knows, what makes the people on Bear Mountain different and attacks.
The story of bear mountain seems to come to an end, but it looks as if there will be a spin-off for Wolf-Mountain coming next.
I am looking forward to the new set of stories.

war and peace shifter style

A bear raised with wolves, fated mates that are so uncertain, murderous mobs and cranky old men with shotguns that are not afraid to use them Can anyone fall in love in the midst of such turmoil ? A well written story ( you don't have to have read any others to read this one ) that has a bit of everything in the adventure including hot sexy shifters

Poppy has been running the diner on Bear Mountain for years, and had watched her friends find their fated mates. Tensions were running high with the humans from Pine Creek, and the situation explodes when Kent comes to town. A strange bear shifter, will he cause more problems while he looks for his adoptive grand father - or will he be the love that Poppy has been waiting for?
What will happen when their sercret is finally revealed? I have so loved this series and will read them all again!

This book 5 (and last) in the Bear Mountain Shifters Series is a well written book with shifters and their mates and how they are dealing with conflicts. There are some tastefully well written love scenes and the emotional parts are also well described. This is truly an enjoyable, action-packed love story with chemistry. This is a wonderful addition to the series and cannot wait to read more about these wonderfully well crafted characters. A must read

A true love story

Poppy ran the local diner on Bear Mountain.
Kent was a stranger from another city.
Both had been hoping for a life mate for a long, long time.
Poppy rescued Kent from a crowded fight and brought him home with her thinking she was being helpful.
There was a feud brewing below Bear Mountain yet no one on the mountain knew why.
Kent has personal issues to deal with on Wolf Mountain and begs Poppy to bring him there.
Along the way Kent falls for Poppy, Poppy falls for Kent.
Let the love story begin.
I could not put the book down.

Poppy rescues Kent from an angry mob in Pine Springs, not that he thought he needed rescuing!
He needs to keep a promise to his mother, return something to her father, a wolf shifter. He persuades Poppy to take him, but the residents of Pine Springs are all stirred up against the residents of Bear Mountain.
A great read follows.

Poppy has been having trouble keeping up with the bills for the diner since there have been less tourists to Pine Springs. When Kent, a troublesome stranger, makes her an offer that could bail her out, she must go against a friend’s advice and walk straight into danger. I have enjoyed the Bear Mountain Shifters series, but this novel is even better.

Tensions are rising between Bear Mountain and the local town Poppy’s cafe has lost a lot of business. Bear shifter Kent Wonders into town looking for someone but runs into trouble that Poppy helps him out if. The two begin to wonder if they are mates or not. These characters are full of personality. I really enjoyed them. In this story the conflict with the town is finally put to rest.

As each of the door to be with a family closed, Kent felt the dispair and loneliness of it all. What he didn't realized that behind the last door was relationship that is much bigger than he could ever expect.

Fated on Bear Mountain is the final book in a series but the story can be enjoyed without having read the previous books. I enjoyed the story - it's a fun, quick read. Poppy, our heroine, runs the diner that is the emotional center of the Bear Mountain community. She has helped many couples find their happiness and while she would like to have her own mate, she is resigned to being single. That changes when she helps her friend Scott get a stranger out of a fight in Pine Springs, the unfriendly town at the base of Bear Mountain. Kent is over the top handsome and Poppy cannot remember when she has been so attracted to another shifter. But Kent has secrets.

The chemistry between Poppy and Kent is phenomenal. Poppy has been one of my favorite supporting characters in the previous books of this series, so it was fun to see her get her own mate. It was also interesting to see how Kent, raised by adoptive parents in isolation, deals with the close clan of bear shifters on Bear Mountain. I recommend this book for readers willing to suspend reality and logic for a little while and enjoy some over the top hot romance.
