He's the peace-keeping Onyx brother, but there's unrest in his own heart. Billionaire dragon shifter, Jasper, can have everything he wants. Everything, except for her. Rose is his employee. The woman who makes him breathe fire. Her life is a mess, so she has Jasper tidied away into the just-friends box. It's where he needs to stay for the sake of the Dragon Empire. Except that he doesn't want to. Now, Jasper's got a decision to make. Loving Rose will cost him everything, But it will also be his ultimate salvation.
Starla Night was born on a hot July at midnight. She hikes, scuba dives, and swims naked in the ocean. She writes about smoking-hot dragon-shifter billionaires and steamy alpha merman-shifters at StarlaNight.com.
Another great addition to this series. A heartbroken Jasper sacrifices his self for his family and earth by agreeing to marry Adviser Wrathmoda, an ancient female dragon known for her temper and of disembodying her enemies, however things do not go as plan. When his dreams come within reach, he will risk everything to claim his true mate. This amazing story is full of action, suspense, danger and super steamy scenes that will leave you breathless. I was hooked from the very beginning. This book is definitely worth reading.
DNF so no rating I enjoyed the previous books but this one was not it for me. Beta male, annoying heroine with annoying and stupid reasons not to be with the H, plus she's not right with him, she's okay with him staying single and miserable but not with him moving forward in his life...and the H just let her. Gaaaahh, next!
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
3.5 stars
I really enjoy this series, there are plenty of funny moments, but enough serious moments to give it balance.
I really liked Jasper, he worked so hard for the business, for his family, and to try to win Rose. Rose I had a harder time warming up to. I could understand that she was in a difficult situation and that her past experiences made it hard for her to trust, but I still found her contradictory and annoying for most of the story. She would refuse to give Jasper information about her family and then get mad when he did something based on that lack of knowledge. She was convinced she had to do everything herself, but saw nothing wrong with helping others (she just wouldn't ask others to help her and got upset when they wanted to help her). She does make changes towards the end, so I could see the potential for her to have a fresher start with Jasper. The story as a whole was still good, but it wasn't a favorite out of the series.
I thought it was interesting to see more female dragons and how they interact with the males. Amber is very much not like a traditional female dragon based on the ones in this book (for which I'm really glad). I'll be interested to see what happens with the last two brothers.
I've waited for this story what seems like forever
While I liked the message and characters, Night's strength, where she truly shines as a writer is in the humor of this series. Malachite and Amber are by far the best in the series because they're flooded with miscommunications and humor. Jasper has some, but not nearly as much and it's not nearly as good of a story because of that. This story has been building since the very first book of the series so I've got to say I was really disappointed in its outcome.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good story, well written and interesting. But with all the build up I felt like it should have been the best in the series and it just wasn't.
I'd still recommend it, but I think in previous series novels Night has shown just how much better this story could have been.
Another winner in the Virgin Brides series with jasper and rose’s story—this one was rich and heartwarming with a capable and strong heroine who protected her vulnerability by keeping her emotional distance from Jasper, who’s loved her for years. I loved how she tried so hard to juggle all her crazy family responsibilities.
Jasper was amazing. Tender, sometimes a bit bumbling and would get the wrong end of the stick but always with the best and most endearing of intentions.
The best part that I SWOONED over was double virgins. Neither had slimed around and given their bodies to others, so they belonged completely to each other and I wish there was more of this in romance.
This story is very well written, packed with emotional depth and character development and the pacing is quick, punctuated with humor and action. 5 stars.
Reading Jasper's story felt like being home. It was relaxing, refreshing, and made me feel good. Like cotton candy and bubbly champagne good!
Jasper is easily the most lovable dragon. He is patient, caring tender and wonderfully thoughtful. And like Hershey chocolate, he made my mouth water! Rose is a unique heroine. She is incredibly independent and prickly but with a soft heart. Yes, she holds everyone at arms length but once she opens her self up she turns out to be exquisite. This PNR is a true delight. Fun, tender, sweet and spicy, this is most certainly a real treat. There are some misunderstandings but they definitely add to the story and make things wonderfully adorable.
Jasper gets a WILDLY ENTERTAINING FIVE SPARKLING STARS!
I read all the other onyx brothers books but this book had me in tears I love it the most so far. Jasper such a beautiful man with big heart. He's the guy that everyone relies on yet don't really appreciate. His brothers don't realize how much they depend on him and how much their company's success is reliant on him. Their were times were I felt like slapping Rose so that she sees what's in front of her and how much Jasper loves her and what lengths he goes to show her that. Read this book you won't be disappointed. Waiting for the next ones in the series now
Linchpin - something that holds things together. The name for this type of person blew me out of the water. Perhaps this is why I liked this book even better than the last. Those following me on Goodreads know that I am burning through this series at a rapid pace. They are fun, relaxing to read and a loveable characters. In this latest one, I'm moved to post it on my blog.

I thought that Jasper and Rose's romance was simply delightful. I just adore these weredragons and I am always thrilled to read the next installment of this terrific series. The engaging and entertaining story is well written and is filled with a compelling blend of deep emotions, drama, humor, action, sweetness, heat, excitement and heart. This is a excellent book in an awesome series. I am choosing to post a frank review.
I enjoyed reading this book, the interaction and chemistry between the characters of Rose and Jasper is great, the storyline is entertaining and filled with action and intrigue. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
The man is a freaking dragon who doesnt understand humans at all but at the same time is so freaking amazing you just wanna squeeze him...add in he only has eyes for Rose...but an advisor wants him for herself...and his little human needs to decide if she wants to step up and fight for him and everyone she loves or if she is going to walk away for good.
Once again, I enjoyed Starla's well-written story which provides the various components that I enjoy. Imagination, romance, hero and heroine, some eroticism, and with some suspense and doubt thrown in, I'm usually captivated! Give me a good story and it's a movie to my mind! Enjoy!
This is such a great book and as good as all the others I have read. Nasty upper crust female dragon and a brave human mate and you need to figure out what it is all about.
Ten foot, female, dominating, dragons. Poor, mousy, janitorial humans. An epic battle the humans can’t possibly win. Oh, & don’t forget sexy, male dragons. Lots of fun & sexy times ensue.
I have loved Jasper through all the books. He is one of my favorite brothers. I can't wait to read Flint's HEA he also seems to be an intriguing character to dig into as well. If you haven't read this series yet you should give it a try. They are very entertaining.
Jasper, the quiet dependable Onyx sibling, is the one everyone kind of took for granted. Until Rose and matrimonial complications open their eyes. I truly enjoyed reading about this Onyx couple!
This was similar, but different from the others. There were dragons (of course) and the world was the same, but their problems were different and I was thrilled with how they were resolved. Can't wait to start the next book.
Oh my word...nothing is ever done easily for our Onyx Dragons or their mates! But a human female battling an ancient female Dragon...impossible! Loved it!
Again Starla Night has woven an exciting and convoluted adventure with family heartaches and surviving kidnapping and tortures to make a unwanted marriage happen.
