A short, question-answer style format between author and universe. The messages received were heard intuitively by the author.
This is the second book in the series, the first one was referenced a few times with some call back material as a refresher. I have not read book one but this can be read as a stand-alone with ease.
This was extremely simple. I highlighted 8 passages or so that I liked, besides that, I didn't have any profound awakenings. That is not to take away from the author's experiences in any way shape or form. If you are new to the deconstructing process of letting go of all that no longer serves your best self, this may be the perfect starting point for you. If you are further along in your spiritual journey, this may not have a serious impact on you. With the title and peaceful cover I was expecting this to be extremely insightful, packed full of profound details; what I got was 45 pages of a sweet and sensible Q and A of an evolving and loving spiritual journey. He shares a path of surrender, faith, and strength in love.
Because of the short length, this felt more like insightful journal entries and part of a booklet more than a finished book. I feel a compilation of these works further down the road would best suit readers. Every spiritual journey is one worth sharing. We all deserve to have our story heard.
The cover is absolutely drawing! I feel many will gravitate towards this title as I did for that exact reason. The arrow moving forward through the peace sign was visually pleasing and brilliant, also the name was highly intriguing.
I won this e-book ARC, SPIRITUAL INTERCOURSE, through the Goodreads Giveaway Program. I was under no obligation to write a review, my honest opinion is freely given. (You can see my favorite highlighted quotes and notes from this title in the corresponding section.)
This book. Such an inspiration. My husband, who gifted me this glorious book, has mysteriously disappeared (although I'm sure it was unrelated to my sudden and intense interest in this book). Freeman delivers an entertaining piece of modern literature that future generations will endeavor to comprehend (as I have thoroughly).
Gladly, as in the moment of writing this, my husband has returned from his previous whereabouts, which shall remain secret until my tracking device is implanted.
I won this book in a giveaway. It was simply not for me. I have never really been a huge fan of philosophy or philosophical arguments, which is what this book reads as. While the idea of having a conversation between the author and the universe was creative, the conversation did not always flow. There were breaks in the conversation, and this made it feel disjointed rather than one solid argument or conversation.
"Spiritual Intercourse" by Maximus Freeman is a profound and enlightening exploration of the interconnectedness between the human spirit and the divine. This book is a masterful blend of deep spiritual insight, personal anecdotes, and practical guidance, making it a valuable resource for anyone on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.
Freeman’s writing is both eloquent and accessible, making complex spiritual concepts easy to understand and relate to. His ability to articulate the nuances of spiritual experiences and the transformative power of inner connection is truly remarkable. Each chapter feels like a conversation with a wise friend, offering both comfort and challenge in equal measure.
One of the standout features of "Spiritual Intercourse" is its emphasis on the importance of authentic connection – not just with the divine, but with oneself and others. Freeman beautifully illustrates how these connections can enrich our lives, providing a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and peace. His insights into the nature of love, compassion, and mindfulness are particularly resonant, offering readers practical ways to cultivate these qualities in their daily lives.
The book is also filled with thought-provoking questions and exercises that encourage readers to reflect deeply on their own spiritual journeys. These interactive elements make the book not just a passive read, but a transformative experience that invites active participation and personal growth.
Freeman’s personal stories add a rich layer of authenticity and relatability to the book. His openness about his own struggles and triumphs serves as a powerful reminder that spiritual growth is a continuous, evolving process. His journey is a testament to the incredible potential for healing and transformation that lies within each of us.
"Spiritual Intercourse" is a beautifully written, deeply moving book that offers profound wisdom and practical tools for anyone seeking to deepen their spiritual practice and enhance their connection with the divine. Maximus Freeman has created a work of true significance that will undoubtedly inspire and uplift its readers. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the depths of their spirituality and enrich their life with greater meaning and connection.
This was a short read and consisted of a conversation between the author and The Universe. I honestly really enjoyed it. I loved how the author expressed the underlining reason for specific emotions as a more personal emotion such as anger lead from unworthiness or fear, etc. I sympathize with the author with feelings of unworthiness also and not feeling good enough. The chapter about relationship and how being intimate is sharing your true inner feelings resonated with me as well. I feel like communication is the best way to have what you want out of a relationship (any type). This book was a reflection of looking at the bigger picture and assessing yourself, your path, and the way you treat others as a reflection of yourself. Will reread certain parts in the future. Side note: I won this in a goodreads giveaway but that hasn’t affected any of my views. I really enjoyed this short read while drinking my morning coffee and surrounded by my sweet pups.
I didn't know what to expect by the title. I knew it was about some degree of spirituality. I tried to approach it in an open minded fashion. I feel like I have grown as a person. If I had read this twenty years ago, well, I probably wouldn't have read it. While, I am not on this path, I found some information that I felt familiar with. At this season of my life, I am not trying to fight people on what they believe, I am just trying to be a light. I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.
Spiritual Intercourse by Maximus Freeman is a profound and transformative read. Freeman masterfully delves into the depths of spiritual connection, offering insights that are both enlightening and deeply personal. His eloquent prose and thought-provoking ideas guide readers on a journey toward a more profound understanding of themselves and their place in the universe. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking to enrich their spiritual life and foster meaningful connections. Highly recommended!
What a crock of New Age gobbledygook that is full of sound and fury but says nothing that most people want to know. I do applaud the audacity of this author who claims to be in contact with the divine higher power. This was a huge waste of time and even though I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway I think that this book shouldn't have been written much less given away. This book doesn't deserve a star, but I had no other option but to give it one star.
I received this e-editions thru a Goodreads drawing. I am still not a big fan of e-books. I like the feel of a book in hand and the smell of the pages. Having said this, I feel that the book by Maximus F. is of interest to many persons. I am not a big fan but I have spent little of my life dealing with the Universe in person.
I will say that much of the book provided some thought provoking ideas. And I thank Goodreads for the opportunity to read and comment on this manuscript.
I give this book 3.5 stars. I won a free ecopy on a goodreads giveaway. I like books on spirituality and self help. It is a very short book. It is an easy read.
The book is the author asking the universe questions. The universe answers. I have never read a book like this. It is a mainly self help book in a form of q and a.
Even though, I liked what the book talks about. I just found the approach strange. Having the universe answer was a little too new age for me.
This book was received from a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for a review. I, personally, didn't find any enlightenment, but if you have never read, worked, nor sought spiritual discipline or improvement in self, then you might find it interesting and amusing. It's a quick read and the author allows the reader insights into what he has struggled with in his journey of self awareness and improvement.
I received this in a giveaway, but after reading the first few pages I thought this wasn't for me. I took a look at what others had said and decided to give it another look. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this after opening my mind to the format and content that I wasn't initially ready for. While I didn't necessarily agree with 100% of the book, I did find use in a great deal of what was included in it.
I won this book as a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you to the author for giving away this copy of your book! This book lit me up (it gave me lots of light bulb moments). The first part of the book, "Conversations with the Universe," was my favorite part of the book. It gives answers to fundamentally important questions to the spiritual life. It is a good length to read in one sitting and is written in a very clear and concise format. I recommend it for any stage of the spiritual journey.
The depths of this book were far beyond my knowledge. I couldn't grasp the concept of the author having a sit down with the universe, while I do understand its a metaphor. It simply felt a smidge cheesy (obviously in my own, personal opinion). Nonetheless, I read this interview as one and was able to reach within. It was a pretty short read. Congrats to Freeman for a second publishing.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. I won it on Goodreads. It was a very short read. I actually decided to read it aloud to my husband during some quality time. It hits on topics you don’t expect and breaks down things we might have previously thought we understood. Very good read.
I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway and previously read and enjoyed Consciousness Archeology, by the same author. Unfortunately this book did not resonate with me nearly as much -in format or conceptually. It's laid out as a dialogue between the author and the Universe and it is a very short book (which was fine with me given my impressions).
Freeman really hits the nail on the head when he states “all beliefs are illusions.” Our belief system, our perceptions of right, beauty, etc., is deeply rooted in the society, the culture, in which we were raised. By recognizing these beliefs as illusions, we are able to let go and be more accepting of ourselves and the others.
It’s written as conversation between man and universe which I really enjoyed. It’s a quick lesson and overview of spiritual self/ physical self. It was a short but to the point read with an easy understanding. A good read for in between reads, and a re-read would probably be good for a refresher. I enjoyed it.
“Spiritual Intercourse” by Maximus Freeman is a profound exploration of spiritual connection and personal transformation. Freeman delves into the deeper aspects of human relationships, blending wisdom and insight with practical spiritual guidance. I found it to be an engaging and enlightening read, offering clarity on how to cultivate spiritual intimacy in everyday life.
The book was laid out as a conversation between the author and the universe as if they are long time buddies. The author attempts to simplify deep concepts in conversational style. I obtained this book as a giveaway on goodreads.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. But it turned out very interesting and enlightening. I shared a lot of these pages with a family member that is having a hard time right now. And it has helped . A true self help book for the body mind and soul.
I won this book through Goodreads. What an interesting book! It really made you think outside the box about life and your journey in it. I feel the topics mentioned in the book can not only change your outlook on life, but make your life better.
I won this from a Goodreads giveaway. I found the format to be a little strange. I guess I had had higher hopes for this book. I guess I had read similar ideas in the past. It was okay although I'm not certain I'd recommend it.
Read this on my lunch. I'm sure someone will get something out of it, but I am not that someone. Instead it felt like watching a one-man show in which I cared not for the man, nor who he was talking to.
I read Conscience Archeology before this book and enjoyed both. The narration between the author and the universe read easily and was different from most. As I was reading there were many internal conversations that I had, and the vibe lent to a positive and grateful mood.
