The sun is rising, and it’s time for all Animal Sleepy Heads to get out of bed! These are the songs their parents sing to help them wake up and greet the new day. In this charming sequel to her Animal Lullabies, Mandy Ross’s tender and funny poems are delightfully illustrated by Dubravka Kolanovic. Perfect for animals of all species!
Wake up sleepy head is a lovely colourful book of poems, the illustration is fantastic and the layout is clear for the reader. In the book it has pictures of all different animals, these animals all tell a lovely poem about how they wake up in the morning, children will really enjoy this book . especially the illustration. They can also learn about all the different animals and how they all wake up differently, some quickly, some slowly, some singing and some not wanting to get uo at all. One of my favourite poems within the book is the poem about the birds. Bird We don’t need pyjamas Feathers are best For snuggling down In a comfortable nest We don’t need alarm clocks We’ve no trouble waking We sing our dawn chorus As daylight is breaking
This is a lovely description of how the birds wake up in the morning and can’t wait to start singing. I feel this book shows good descriptions of each and every animal.
