Rate this book
A misstep, a miscue, a misfortune, and a billion light years later, the superdreadnought is lost.

The Gate drive is trashed, the locals are hostile, and the crew has run out of beer.

The galaxy has chewed up the Reynolds and spit it out. The search is on for the raw materials to make the parts they need to fix the ship. Who can stand up to the superdreadnought in a no-name galaxy at the edge of the universe? It’s looking grim for a group hug, leaving the captain and crew with the choice of fight, flight, or diplomacy.

Board the Reynolds and join the crew in their struggle to get home.

If only....

This book was jam packed with sub plots. If the pacing of the first 4 books had only been half this good the series might have continued. At least this book brought all the plot lines together in the end.

Triumphant return

I didn't want to blast through this, as it's the last in the series, I wanted to savour it, but I couldn't. I got sucked in to the adventure, turning pages as fast as ever. Great end to a great series.

This was an amazing ending to the Superdreadnought series, and I'm very sad that such a superb series was finished so soon.

Reynolds and his crew will hold a little piece of my heart from now on, and I'll enjoy revisiting this series as and when I get back around to it again which, at the speed that I'm gaining ever more Kindle books, and the quickness with which I'm reading them, will probably be in years, unfortunately!

But that won't stop me doing so, because I only keep books that I know I'll reread, and this series, and this book in particular, are definite rereads for me!

I really loved that there were plenty of serious moments in this story but , also, that there were also plenty of laughs, too!

All I have to do, is think of Tactical, and a laugh escapes immediately - talk about him being a teen!

As usual, I looked at my reading list, as soon as I finished this story, and was really happy to see my next read is a Bad Company book - that's book 7: Overwhelming Force - and then I realised that this was the final book in this series, too!

What are you doing to me, Michael?

A great series, but something lost in this one

I almost gave it a four stars, but there were things that made it too unbelievable and ... Spoiler Alerts...

When they get off course, my first thought was don’t go there. That formula has been tried several times for spin-offs and, IMHO, they failed. The first two that came to my mind were Star Trek: Voyager and Stargate Universe. The solar flare and reference to Star Trek to sling around the star was lost on me as that had to do with time travel and not traveling long distances.

I know I’m being hard on this book and I’m probably being too picky with this next comment, but John just seemed out of character. I know it’s very hard to pull characters from other story lines and integrate them well. Honestly, Reynolds seemed a little out of character throughout the series, but they grew on me. I wasn’t expecting the Reynolds to be at the same caliber as Adam, but sometimes it felt like they were dumbed down some.

Overall, the series was a good quick read and entertaining.

Reynolds has grown up....

It's been a pleasure seeing my favorite AI growing through his experiences as a ship. He's travelled further than any other of the Queen's other Ships! He's met & employed his own crew (of "meatbags"), then left his mark every place he & the crew stopped. Learning new skills, strategies & emotions, Reynolds & the gang enjoyed helping the Innocent break free from what shackled them; conversely, this who kept others down paid the price.

Bullies beware - Reynolds is here!

Thanks for letting us into your amazing imagination. I'm sorry this series has to end. Perhaps the Magistrate will need a newer, larger ship? Even just for a "mission" or two....

I was quite happy when I noticed I had missed this new installment of multiple personality AIs and meatbags in space :-)

As always the story was a moral in space kind of romp.but still very much enjoyable.

As with the previous books in the series there were lots of sayings in honor of other scifi (mostly star trek ), but this time we see the authors trying to atleast make the crew appreciate the irritating tactile AI personality.

All in all a good ending to the series.but I think they could do more!

A solid 4 star book and series - dropping one star as its not that original. But still worth a read. Ps loved the margarita ville planet.

Very satisfying finish for a series, excellent!

This book finished off the series in style. I know a lot of people left the series before it ended, and it was very honest for the author to admit that. But this book ended the series in great style, different planets different circumstances, different places to visit in different situations that the crew had to undergo to get home. The book is well worth the read for those who left the series, I urge you go and read it is a great finish.

Poor Reynolds’ Almanac

Of all the rotten luck, Reynolds is ready to go back home His misfit crew have all decided to go with them, the Reynolds split identifies are cooperating as well as usual (sorta) and the universe flips them a little problem—-they overshoot Tortuga by a couple billion light years or so. And the gate drive is a little broken.... Just another day in the neighborhood. A great read and a good end to the series.

Reynolds last voyage

The last voyage of the Superdreadnought Reynolds is a fast exciting ride. Trying to find their way home after been thrown a bit off course. They meet plenty of new aliens good and bad. Infested with a virus the race is on to save Reynolds other personalities. There is plenty of jokes and attitude especially from tactical. This was an enjoyable ride and you will hope to see Reynolds and crew again soon.

Great wind up!

All good things must come to an end so we must bid adieu to Reynolds and the team. It had been an excellent and interesting run to say the least! A few times I thought I was going to go nuts just trying to keep track of the Reynolds personalities! I look forward to seeing Reynolds and even Athena again in the future. Although I don't know if I can survive an end to the Bethany Anne saga.

Travelling into the unknown

Reynolds is in a pickle this time! The new life forms are certainly interesting, and we see a new set of obstacles for the crew to overcome. We see some new scenarios, and a lot of travelling. An explosive end to a wonderful series. I’m sad it has ended,

Why is it over?!

I can't believe it's over. I loved this series. Reynolds was fun, entertaining, a bit insane and a rip roaring good time. All of the different people's he/they encountered and whose lives were changed because of it. I hope the Queen knows what she has in him, now that he, and all his personalities, are back.

Great ending to series

Due to a solar burst SD Reynolds and crew find themselves on the other side of the universe and have to make their way back. Over a number of little adventures they eventually find they’re way back to High Tortega.

I’m looking forward to reading more adventures of SD Reynolds and crew within other Kurtherian gambit series.

Wonderful final Superdreadnought story

Loved, loved this story just wanted it to be longer. Need lots more Reynolds and crew and personalities. This was such a fun series, just the wait between books was too long. So much action, adventure, and excitement in this story.

All wrapped up

This is a really good series and I am sad it's over, but this book did a great job of wrapping up all the loose ends. There was plenty of action and humor in this last book and we even got to meet a new race.

Yay!

Reynolds makes it home safely and John Grimes makes an appearance to save the rest of his personalities. Everyone is safe and ready to discover the human side of the universe. I'm sad to see the end of this series but now I'm off to see what is next. Enjoy!
