French writer Louis Aragon founded literary surrealism.

Louis Aragon, a major figure in the avant-garde movements, shaped visual culture in the 20th century. His long career as a poet, novelist, Communist polemicist and bona fide war hero secured his place in the pantheon of greats.

With André Breton and Phillipe Soupault, Aragon launched the movement and through Paysan de Paris (Paris Peasant), his novel of 1926, produced the considered defining text of the movement.

Aragon parted company with the movement in the early 1930s, devoted his energies to the Communist party, and went to produce a vast body that combined elements of the social avant-garde.

Aragon, a leading influence on the shaping of the novel in the early to mid-20th century, gave voice and images to the art. He, also a critic, edited as a member of the Académie Goncourt. After 1959, people frequent nominated him for the Nobel Prize.

Je viens de lire ce recueil de poèmes trois fois en l'espace d'une soirée...

Le poésie surréaliste - et surtout le format des vers libres - ne me font pas trop d'effet d'habitude, donc je ne m'attendais pas à autant aimer Les Chambres.

Les poèmes d'Aragon sont d'une franchise, d'un lyrisme si puissants que j'ai été réduite en larmes à plus d'une reprise.

Ce recueil m'a transporté à une époque et à une douleur qui me sont inconnues, mais que j'ai éprouvé jusqu'aux fibres des tissus de mes organes internes le temps de trois lectures.

Je suis tombée amoureuse du style d’aragon, impossible de ne pas lire ces poèmes à voix haute avec une petite musique d’ambiance. J’ai relus et relus encore certains passages, et je me suis empressé d’acheter d’autre livre de cet auteur, mais je suis convaincue que cet ouvrage restera l’un de mes préférés.

Un extenso y amargo poema que es, a su vez, la antesala de la muerte. Aragon no solo no le temía, sino que la buscaba casi como una eutanasia. Eso se nota y deja huella en la lectura.
