Thankful this book was short so I don’t feel like I wasted too much time on it. I felt like it boiled each number down to its most basic stereotypes, including how to distinguish people’s type by how they are dressed/carry themselves.

I really enjoyed this book. I think it is a good overview of the Enneagram method. I used the audio version. Which was easy to follow, but will definitely be picking up a hard copy to re-read sections!

Not sure why I expected to learn about enneagrams from podcasts and the internet before just picking up a book to learn the basics! I found this very enjoyable. I'm a big fan of personality tests, like Gretchen Rubin's four tendencies, so this was very much my cup of tea. I liked the simple way the author broke down the different types, even though he didn't get too complicated with talking about how they relate to one another, or what numbers are represented when one is in their "healthy" versus "unhealthy" states. That's for more advanced reading, I guess. I'm a 1w2, btw, which is why I am a stickler for writing so many reviews. :)

Coming from very limited knowledge on the topic, I picked up this read to try and learn more in detail. I found this helpful in identifying the 9 main personality types, but overall thought it was quite a lot of information that was hard to follow. The points of intersection and switching of personality types made things confusing. Also, I found that many topics were quite generalized. Human beings are such complex beings, so I’m not sure how to feel about the last section of the book on deciphering an enneagram based on physical appearance alone.
