Dr Littles is an excellent teacher and that is reflected in his book on spiritual formation. He covers many different elements of spiritual formation. I read this book in a devotional style and journaled as I went, using the periodic personal reflection questions as a jumping-off point for my own prayer, Bible reading, and journaling.

The section on stewardship particularly helped me as God has seemed to be focused on developing that part of my spiritual formation over the last few months. Another reading would likely lead to a focus on another aspect that God was working on at that time.

I even wrote an article reflecting and sharing many of Dr Littles excellent teaching: https://medium.com/@nathanhardt/faith...

The contents are at time dense, it's a scholarly yet spirit-led approach to many deep subjects. It's not fluffy reading but it is transformative.

More Like Him by Dr James Littles is a deeply thoughtful and well-structured book that feels like the culmination of a life’s pursuit of becoming more like Christ. The design and content are both intentional and impactful, seamlessly weaving together spiritual disciplines that are often not considered but should be.

I especially appreciated the way holiness was interwoven throughout the book—not just in outward expression but in emotional and spiritual formation. Littles’ focus on emotional holiness, baptism, worship, communion, and the balance of work and rest was both refreshing and convicting. His insights challenge and inspire a deeper walk with God, making this a book I will return to often.

Highly recommend to anyone seeking a well-rounded and spiritually enriching guide to Christian growth!
