The dust has settled and the squads train new team members while licking their wounds. No peace can be had and tensions remain high with the threat of the Titans looming over their heads. Phoenix and his wolves retreat to a forest sanctuary only to be called back to deal with a new threat. A threat that could possibly put all of humanity at risk. Rufus Thorn, now the Vampire Chancellor, hatches his own plan to free the Sicarii and erase all of the human hunters without firing a single shot. Just another day at the office for these covert operators...

First, when you wait so long to write an addition to a series you really should start off with a refresher, no? It took me at least 4 to 5 chapters just to remember who was who. Then just when the book started getting some action..you say to be continued? This is my favorite series of all time because every previous book was action packed from beginning to end. This book was like reading a day at the office... Seriously, come on man!! Could you have given a little more action and less training? Then you don't even have the next book ready! Do we have to wait another 2 years? But alas I probably will still be checking every couple months for the next one like I have before because I love the Monster Squad! It's just disappointing that authors drag their readers on like this...i will read a series until book 20 if each one is exciting. "killing The Dead" but this book after waiting so long sucked!
This was so worth the wait, Rufus already has a new plan to dominate not only the Vampires but also the rest of the world and not just Humans. While this is all going on new discoveries and surprises unfold for Matt and the team especially the older guys and they still have to deal with the threat of the Titans while trying to keep things under control within themselves. I loved how while we see whats unfolding now there are the hints and clues of more to come and I so can not wait to see what happens next!!!
The plot thickens. This volume has the squads preparing to take on other agencies bent on their elimination. Thorn has a vision that would completely change the world. There are threats everywhere, and even those behind the veil may not be what they seem. I enjoyed the suspense and my only complaint is please get the next book ready soon! I want to know what happens next! Great writing!
