Two hearts. One Wedding. Five Days. My name is Allison Jenkins and I need a fiancé for five days. I know how desperate that sounds, because it is. You see, after my college boyfriend and I broke up, he recovered swiftly, and is now — gasp — engaged to someone else. Our group of friends from college are going to Cancún for a five day destination wedding of our mutual friend this spring. All of my friends are bringing their husbands, fiancés, and/or boyfriends. So I’ll be the single girl hanging out at the bar with all of the single aunts drinking margaritas. (Which doesn’t sound too awful, by the way.) The awful part will be watching my ex flaunting his hot, new, younger fiancée in front of me. Basically, I need a plan — stat — so these five days don’t suck. Enter my coworker, Jocko Brewer. Handsome playboy and charmer of the ladies. Number two sales rep in the entire company already — at age twenty-nine. And, surprisingly, the guy I get along with best in the office. Though, I have to admit, he is the definition — most times — of arrogance. If he’s crazy enough to agree to my little Cancún plot and act like we’re engaged, I’d be happy. But there’s just a little teensy-weensy problem that happens when we’re in Cancún. This fiancé role-playing bit? Well, we both start taking it just a wee bit too seriously. Who would have thought that so much could happen in five days?
Hi, there! My name is Mickey Miller and I write sexy, fun romance with smart characters. My books are great if you're looking for a light-hearted, steamy read with some humor and a happy ending! Happy reading!
“And hey, you sure you’re cool with this?” A devil’s smirk crosses my face, and I crook my finger for Jocko to lean down closer to me. “Come here,” I whisper. He leans in. “Massage the shit out of me. Just like your French girls. Don’t hold back. I’ll tell you if you’re doing something I don’t want.” He cracks up. “Slightly obscured Titanic reference noted. Ah, Allie, this is why you’re my favorite.”
“Ahhh,” says the guy in the hat. “You played the long game.” I slap him on the back nice and firmly. “With some girls, son, the long game is the only game.”
Five long and seemingly strong years together. Five months later and another woman wears a ring that should have been hers. And a promised five days of sun-baked leisure and feelings forgotten is a respite that piles on the burn because unfortunately for Allison Jenkins, holiday horizons and forthcoming nuptials are best enjoyed without your ex in attendance. He and all their paired up, loved-up friends will be there, coupled and starry-eyed while love and courtship can only cook hotter in the heatwaves of an Mexican Isle. Where Allie fits into that, she has no idea.
Of course, a woman demoralised can quite easily default to a woman resigned to questionable decisions. We know them as the measure we often adopt for those very desperate times. Sun, seas, moreish sights and a picture-perfect man to curb her sinking esteem is a picture that looks as gorgeous as it feels. Whether it’s within touching distance or not is another considerable particular. Especially the picture-perfect man part.
Wounded and emotionally sore from a relationship that was supposed to last forever, Allie has been put through the rigours of a post-relationship hangover, but to kick a girl when she’s down, she’s idling at work as an overlooked asset to a company that trivialises her particular and very valuable skill set. Will the sun ever cast a spell on her? Warm her with its splayed and ripe rays? If the sun is tall, loud, boisterous and as charismatic as the office heart-throb and her undaunted coworker Jocko Brewer, the skies are looking shades more bluer for Allie. And several degrees hotter.
So when Allie propositions Jocko to be her companion for a five day destination wedding, like the well-versed salesman he is, he has a counter offer of his own: how about a ring on her finger to seal the deal? An eye for an eye and a plan to kill two birds with one very large stone? Not just to massage her pride and avoid humiliation, but because Allie has spent ample time deep-diving the tart washes of misery. To wish, wait and wonder for the pieces to fall into place has landed her single, loaded and charged with everything she hasn’t done. It’s time to swim with some other rapids…
New stories from novel authors are like a ‘meet and greet’ for a reader. At least, that’s exactly how I feel when I’m scouting and stockpiling those attractive reads that lasso my senses into a tight knot. That’s the initial impression, that first page; it’s the hand shake, the eye contact, the non-verbal discourse, and as the saying goes, first impressions really are written in stone.
When I read a book from a writer that’s unknown to me, it’s a fresh, ice breaking moment. I’m meeting you for the first time, eyeing, scoping and gauging my measure. I’m introduced and the writer prefaces themselves to every reader parts the pages of their written landmark. That’s one of my favourite feelings; when a first impression harmonises the effortless synthesis of two things, one I want to bottle like the most moreish aroma because it reminds me that you can live a sensation over and over without perish. I’ve maintained that almost religious feeling with those books that have remained my favourites. Mickey Miller made his inked-up stripe with Five Day Fiance because that first impression unexpectedly worked a wonder. A tone that sits well and a funny, fruity romance that burns as well as it blushes with fun.
A grand troupe of shining characters?Absolutely.A picturesque vista that places this in escapist territory? You can take that bet.A slow burn that never dims and only climbs?Definitely.Strong, unfazed chemistry between two well-matched protagonists? This reader does not claim faith in the taboo of unnecessary lies. Role-playing never felt so natural or looked so raunchy.
A slow burn is a friend to both character and plot progression. A slow burner can flourish as much as a faster one, I’ve experienced that firsthand so many times. It lets a reader in as a part of the careful growth, every shift and movement, every milestone within our protagonists’ headspace. There’s ample time to draw out and pull on the connection. I really felt that with this read. The tone was on point. Jocko and Allie’s development might have been slower but it’s also unexpectedly meaningful for the both of them. You can anticipate what happens next, but it’s always fun to hitchhike the trip there.
I love Jocko and Allie! They already have an established chemistry as coworkers and friends, and when that line breaks open sizzling territory, it’s as natural and energising as a reader expects. Just a matter of time and hotter climes for fuller feelings to thrive in a place with deeper oceans. The connection was always there, it just needed to be worked, watered and acknowledged as the ideal showmance ...
Jocko is most definitely book-boyfriend material. He’s got the undaunted charisma, on top of his game, on-the-ball temperament, always upbeat with that edge of cocky mischief that cannonballs an average male protagonist into one that lights up and sizzles. If this books is third-in-series, I’m wondering if the other Brewer brothers have the same pull as their bachelor brother. It’s a different ballgame seeing the man behind the magic, sharp suits and almost caffeinated drive. You won’t blame Allie for satisfying those impulses.
The blurb and the reviews had my notice but the book itself bore my unmoving attention. First from the start and then the whole way through. Five Day Fiance is a thoughtfully penned escapist temptation. An alive and balmy storyline that follows an undaunted bachelor ride the warm friend zone to the anti-platonic end zone. He just chose a fake engagement and five days of role-play and real-play to get there.
This book has the invigorating, steady-burning steam factor, strong and steady chemistry, proud character profiles with buoyant wit and a plot that tempers a collision of error, all within a slice of paradise where temptation sunsets a warm and wonderful vista. A must read for all romance enthusiasts. Both the tone and the build up are truly satisfying. Light entertainment for any season and any time.
Absence may make the heart grow fonder but closeness is the salve that nurtures true intimacy. A close-quarters affair that’s supposed to stay under the lock and key of sun-baked fun and a white-washed getaway but what happens in Cancun was never meant to stay in Cancun. I dub a book as a page-turner if I have zero desire to indulge the red light phase, if I continuously want to stay rooted within the story just to see what happens next. I easily felt the same about this. Miller writes well in this genre and I can see him advancing hip-to-hip and pen-to-pen with the efforts of most adored and toasted romance writers.
C O N T E N T_W A R N I N G: Saucy, sexy scenes, swearing and drinking. Mentions drugs in passing.
S O M E_C O N C E R N S:
1) Some editing errors throughout; I.e. spelling mistakes and misplacement. Also, in one scene, both Jocko’s and Allie’s underwear is strewn around their hotel room when they actually went commando the night before.
2) I wanted to touch on something that Jocko had mentioned as an explicit reason his dad had split from his mum when when he was younger. I can’t lie and say I wasn’t bothered by the comment about him mum ‘letting herself go’ being the cause of the break up. I understand the importance of self-care but it just propagated the whole idea of women having to be everything to everyone and still have to look great while doing it. Women have it hard as it is, our bodies change and we’re so much more than the way we look and thrive and collapse. To use the excuse to up and leave someone because they’re overworked and most likely struggling to keep everything together doesn’t sit well with me. A real partner helps them through it, not ditch them. To me, it seemed like they just weren’t well-matched.

I have to say, i take off my hat for Five Days Fiancee. This is somewhat turns into a sweet, fun, light story. It had me at balcony. That part was funny.
This is my second read by this author. The first book, i do not remember i like it very much. In Five Days Fiancee, the theme is fake relationship in order to save Ally's ego. After all, her boyfriend dumps her. Lucky for her, she has a handsome playboy as a friend,Jacko who willing to be her fake fiancee.
Their spark sizzle when they touch down at Cancun. And well whatever happens im Cancun....does not stay in Cancun.
These Brewer brothers, *le sigh*...totally dreamy. And Jocko, right now? Dreamiest!
Allie is still feeling a bit emotionally bruised after her long time relationship ended, and he has moved on, getting engaged soon after. Now she has to spend a week in paradise with all her happily coupled college friends for Peyton & Maddie's wedding. Oh, and her ex is one of those that group.
She's been working with Jocko for three years. They've got a great work relationship. And he's hot, single, and the perfect footloose and fancy-free companion to survive that destination wedding with.
Jocko has been attracted to Allie from the start, but he's a bachelor for life...or at least until 40. He agrees to go with her but he has a request. Pretend to be his fiancee to get his mother off his back.
Little does either expect this trip to end up changing their lives! It's fun, HOT, and surprisingly full of feels.
Sweet, witty, steamy (sooo, steamy!), and, did I say steamy already? Allie and Jocko start this trip not expecting it to be more than fun. They finish it with so much more.
Obviously we get to see Peyton & Maddie and enjoy their HEA.
And, omg, I did say steamy already, right? Hot, Hot, HOT!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I loved Jocko and Allison’s story, once I began reading I was hooked and couldn’t put my book down. We’re given a office romance/friends to lovers story that has laughter and lust intertwined throughout. The dual POV was great and I enjoyed how the story continued forward as the characters switched places and told the events through their eyes. There is so much more to Jocko then anyone expected including myself seeing how he was in the beginning of the book and I was falling for him even then, to see what he does and how he acts around and for Allison had me smiling non stop. A great standalone read in a series and I must say that this is my favorite of the three.
Five Day Fiancé is my favorite Mickey Miller book!!!! He has outdone himself with this book.
Jocko and Allie are coworkers who come up with a plan. Allie doesn’t want to go to a destination wedding in Cancun by herself. And Jocko’s mom is on his back about when he will give her grandkids. So the plan. It’s to pretend they are engaged and attend the five day trip as fiancés. But what happens when things turn into more? And what happens when they return home? Will what happened in Cancun stay in Cancun? Or will they try and make things work at home?
Talk about a fun book!! Five Day Finance was soooo good! I loved Jocko and Allie and every part of their trip.
This was a fast read for me. I just loved it so much. It was funny and sexy and the characters were great. Jocko is sweet and hot and had a great sense of humor. But will he want to remain the ultimate bachelor? You have to read to find out!
It hurt me to give this book only a 2 star review because I LOVE the fake-relationship troupe, BUT I just couldn't enjoy Five Day Fiance. Personally, I found both the H/h to be extremely immature. It was painful to read just how immature they were and it really took away from the overall plot. I usually enjoy Mickey Miller's books, but this one was difficult to finish.
Having to travel to a destination wedding that Allison's ex will also be attending, she finds herself needing a plus one in order to not be a third wheel and the only single woman there. Insert her co-worker Jocko who tells her he will be her other half for the wedding as long as he also does her a favor. He wants to go as an engaged couple so he can get his mother off his back. Easy right? Just go and have a great time....that is until the time together also leads them to open up about their true feelings. But can you fall in love in just five days? And what will the repercussions be when the engagement gets back to their employer? Filled with lots of laughs and heart felt emotions this was a great read. Mickey Miller once again does not disappoint.
5 star review Five Day Fiancee (Brewer Brothers #3) by Mickey Miller
AUDIO REVIEW:
Having read only one other book by Mickey Miller, I was interested to listen to this one as the blurb intrigued me; I found this book entertaining and fun to listen too.
Allison Jenkins is desperate and needs a date for five days as she is determined not to be the only single woman at a destination wedding in Cancun now that her ex boyfriend is engaged and will be attending. When Jocko Brewer agrees to help Allie out, provided she agrees to be his fake fiancée, she is thrilled, after all they are friends and co workers. What could possibly go wrong?
I loved Jocko, his caring and support of Allie was heartwarming and sweet. The narration by Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood was spot on and they did an amazing job bringing Jocko and Allie to life for me. Their narration was entertaining and added another level to my listening pleasure.
There was great banter, heat and the chemistry between Jocko and Allie was sizzling and I loved how they came up with a plan to get both Nate and his mother off their backs with their fake engagement. However, what happens when pretending morphs into something real? Will they take a chance on happiness, or will they ignore the feelings that are developing? It was fun to listen as their friendship morphed into a relationship as their feelings evolved; it seemed fitting that these two should get together.
Mickey Miller owes me a new Kindle because this book incinerated mine! I know we can always count on him to bring the heat, but, have mercy! Jocko and Allie have a chemistry that sets the pages on fire. Who knew well-worn tropes of fake fiancé and friends to lovers could be so enticing, captivating and riveting? And hot. Did I say hot?
Jocko and Allie have worked together for the last three years. She may be a little nerdy, but her skills help him seal the deals making him the top sales guy for the company. He may be attracted to her, but she's still getting over a breakup and he has a strict policy against dating coworkers. But when she invites him to be her plus one for a destination wedding, he sees a chance to get his mother off his back about settling down and giving her grandchildren.
Ahhh, y'all, this book is just so much darn fun! An innocent plan to appease Jocko's mom and maybe exact a little revenge on Allie’s ex who will also be at the wedding takes us on a tantalizing ride that turns into a comedy of errors, offering surprising depth and tugs at the ol' heartstrings. Allie lets her bad girl out to play and finally stands up for herself, while the guy who has brass you-know-whats at work grows a pair where love is concerned, and there’s never a dull moment on their road to forever.
You'll laugh out loud, you'll blush out loud (is that possible?), and your heart will get the very best kind of emotional workout. You'll live every experience alongside Allie and Jocko and you won’t be able to put this one down. Do yourself a huge favor and hit that 1-Click button now.
These Brewer brothers, *le sigh*...totally dreamy. And Jocko, right now? Dreamiest!

Leave it to Mickey Miller and his incredible writing to keep me up all night reading. I finished this book literally in one night. Once again Mickey Miller gives his readers the ultimate page turner. This book is sexy and funny with a great storyline. You are literally transported into paradise with Allie's friends destination wedding. Now she only needs a date. When her bestie suggesting Allie's sinful co-worker Jocko. At first he is not interested but eventually changes his mind with an interesting stipulation. That's when things become interesting because they both are attracted to each other but oh so in denial. There are a lot of great laughs in this book. Jocko is quite the character with his whit. Allie is trying her hardest to stay away but fails miserably. When their scheme blows up in their faces they have to come clean not only with their friends and family but also with themselves. Mickey Miller is most definitely one of my go-to authors when I need a great read. He has a way to hook you into his stories from the first page on. Non of his books are alike and that's what I love so much about his writing. With "Five Day Fiance" he once again delivers and outstanding read that will leave you beg for more.
Jocko, Jocko, Oh Jocko! How much I wanna just jump your bones! This might be my favorite book thus far by Mickey Miller. I thought nothing could ever beat out The Cassanova Experience. The lies I told. I love you Chandler, but Jocko has officially taken over my heart and soul.
This book had me smiling and laughing. It seems like every single book Mr. Miller puts out, they get better and better and make it really difficult for me to say I have just one favorite Mickey Miller book.
Girl works with boy and boy has crushed on girl since they first met, but girl had a douchecanoe at that time, who decided to leave her after their long term relationship and monthly later he is engaged. Allison has to go to the wedding of their mutual friend and does not want to go alone.
Que dun dun dunnnn. Allison asks Jocko to go with her, but he says no... At first.
Of course you will have to go and read the book to find out what happens. I can say that in Mickey Miller fashion, this book was Heat Level - Steaming. He never fells to leave his trademark in any and every book. The mention of past characters. I love it.
This book was so good. I loved Jocko and Allison. Jocko is my favorite Brewer brother so far. They were such an amazing couple. They fit together so well. Allie was invited to a friend’s destination wedding in Cancun which is wonderful. Who doesn’t want to spend some time in the sun? The problem is that her ex-boyfriend was also invited to the wedding and he won’t be coming alone. Allie decides to ask Jocko to be her plus one and he agrees. Can what started out as two friends in a five day fake finance relationship turn into something real, something that neither one really expected? You will have to just read it and it find out.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don’t understand all the 5 stars. It was a little repetitive and slow going. The author used “cajones” instead of “cOjones”. Cajones means crates by the way. I don’t understand the choice of using the name Jocko. It’s not remotely sexy. But what made me stop reading was when the H referenced his parents’ brief breakup and said it was b/c his mom let herself go physically. Women have issues with body image as it is and here comes a “romance author” implying that men are allowed to cheat if a woman lets herself go. Sorry. Could not continue beyond that point and I’m putting this author on my Do Not Read list.
Allie needs a +1 for a destination wedding where she'll be seeing her newly engaged ex. So as not to be the only single person in a sea of couples doe a week Allie invites her co-worker, and self-proclaimed bachelor for life, Jocko Brewer. Jocko accepts the invite and goes one step further with his own agenda. Maybe they go as an engaged couple? It's ony for five days. What could possibly go wrong? Once the plane lands in Cancun, let the fun begin!
So what do you do when both you and your ex are invited to the same wedding that he'll be bringing his fiancee to? Well, you invite your sexy as sin co-worker to go with you of course. What could possibly go wrong? Omg. This book was so cute and the chemistry between the characters was amazing.
Blurb was good but I cannot get into this authors writing style. I have tried a few of his books and for some reason I just can't get into them. The writing style just doesn't pull me into the story and I find myself rolling my eyes at some of the content.
This is the first time reading this author. I wanted to read this book because it had such good reviews and on Audible, there were so many people who'd read it.
For me, it was just okay. I liked the office romance, moved to a tropical location side of it. I also liked that they'd known each other as friends for many years before taking this plunge, which meant that they had a basis for falling so quickly.
I'm also from Michigan, and hearing about it in a book always brings a since of nostalgia for me. Same when I read Sarina Bowen/Tanya Eby books.
That all being said, it wasn't that great of a read/listen for me. I actually think it was because the last couple of books I've read have been so fun and funny that this one brought my reading high down a bit. Nothing wrong with the writing, story or narrators (whom I really like). It's just that it wasn't as fun and funny like my past couple of reads so it didn't stack up to those and that hurt it a bit.
I would read this author again though. I'm interested in Peyton and Maddie's story, THE SUBSTITUTE. I may pick that one up at a later date.
Another amazing book from Mickey. God this was such a delicious friends to lovers/fake relationship romance with a little slow burn thrown in (I mean it was obvious that Jocko and Allie had feelings of each other for YEARS!). I’ve been waiting for Jocko’s story for forever and this didn’t disappoint. It was sweet, funny and so damn steamy. Omg, the balcony scene. Go TBR this one immediately.
I enjoyed this next book in the series. The couple has chemistry and answer the question of how would you go to fake everyone out. Then what happens when you realize it's not fake anymore. I enjoyed the funny moments as well.
Alison Jenkins finds herself in a bind-literally. When she has to attend a wedding for one of her college friends, she needs a date. Desperately. She wants to make her ex (who will be at the wedding) jealous as hell. Enter co-worker Jocko Brewer, a co-worker who has had the hots for Alison since day one. It's time to show her just how much better off she is with him than her ex-fiance.
Jocko knows he has a lot to prove to Alison, and with a 5-day deadline, he pulls out the stops making sure her ex realizes what a gem he lost out on. But can Jocko be able to show Alison that HE is the right one for her? Only 5 days will tell.
This was a great read by Mickey Miller and I can't wait to read more from this author!
Why am I not surprised that Jocko Brewer, a hot sexy player would agree to go along with a crazy bizarre scheme of becoming a fiancé for 5 days. Allison Jenkins needs a hot body by her side for a destination wedding and her sights zero in on her co-worker and friend Jocko. She has been invited to her friends wedding and can't back out of it, but she does not want to turn up solo. Her ex is going to be there with his new squeeze...the kicker... they are engaged.
Jocko and Allison have worked together for 3 years. There has been mutual flirting between the two, but for Allison it has always been more. But rules are rules in the workplace and a hookup between the two of them is against policy. Allison musters the courage and leaves her comfort zone in the wind and asks Jocko if he would be interested in being her fiancé for 5 days. Jocko goes for the idea after some thought. Jocko has his own agenda as to why he agrees. Big reason, he wants to get his mom off his back with her dreams of him marrying and giving her grandchildren. If he is engaged, it will definitely stop her nagging. He is known for telling everyone he is going to be a bachelor until at least 40 and that is not going to change. But he can fake it for the chance to get some sun, sand and maybe a little something, something if he is lucky.
Everything goes according to plan until Jocko and Allison develop feelings for each other that goes outside the boundaries of "just friends". This was such a fun, sexy and entertaining story that Mickey Miller has always excelled in.
I think this is my favourite recent Mickey Miller book to date. Maybe even my most favourite of all, though I will always hold a special place for Playing Dirty, my first Mickey Miller read.
Allie is going to the wedding of college friend Peyton and desperately needs a date for the event because she's recently broken up with her long-term boyfriend and he will also be there, with his new fiancée. Her best friend offers to be her plus one but when it turns out that she has a conflict, she encourages Allie to invite their coworker, Jocko Brewer. We briefly meet Jocko in both The Lake House and The Hold Out, as those feature two of Jocko's brothers as the MC. Allie thinks this is absurd, because why would Jocko, office hottie shot, want to go anywhere with her, much less a five day vacation?
Jocko, for his part, has been secretly into Allie for a long time but never pursued anything with her besides a friend/coworker relationship, because she was with Mark until a few months ago, and he also is not in favor of fishing off the company pier.
Allie really doesn't want to go alone, the only single girl at the party, so she bites the bullet and invites Jocko. He eventually agrees, though he wants something other than just the pleasure of her company in return. Can they survive the week with their friends and with each other intact and have a good time celebrating Maddy and Peyton? Or is there possibly a chance for something more?
OMG! I just loved Jocko and Allie! They were off the charts sizzling and their story was fun, invigorating, sexy, sassy and fun! Allie has gotten the rotten end of the deal lately and dumped by her boyfriend of 5 years and thoughts of them getting married dancing in her head while she’s online looking at engagement pics of her ex and his new fiance. What a stab to the heart and to top it off her best friend Peyton and his fiance Maddy are having a destination wedding to Cancun and Allie is dateless. Enter Rhonda her bestie at work who comes up with a solution of a lifetime. Invite the sexy, delicious Jocko on the trip, friends that’s all, right? But little does Allie know that Jocko has feelings for her from the moment he saw her, and vise versa, but when she gets up the liquid courage to ask, he denies her the fun of sticking it to her ex who will be there front and center. After a little thought Jocko changes his mind with a little tempting offer to help him with something. Now it’s getting good! For five glorious days these two tap dance around each other, deny, deny, deny and lie, lie, lie to friends and family, but what happens when their fake reality starts to become real? Will Jocko be the man Allie knows him to be or will he run for the hills and just stay friends when it’s all over? Such a great read, it’s sexy, hot and deliciously steamy! This is a must read and you won’t be disappointed. I received a copy of this book.
Definitely another hit for Mickey Miller. What could possibly happen when a confirmed young bachelor and his sexy co-worker, who needed a plus one date to bring, travel to a destination wedding together? And why not add the complication of a fake engagement to the mix, which is sure to keep Jocko’s mom off his case about settling down and Allie won’t be lost around her ex and his new fiancé. Because what happens in Cancun stays in Cancun right? Definitely check out this book for scenes of hilarity, some soul-searching and enough sexy times to steam up your kindles. I loved the characters of Jocko and Allie and it was great to see them try to figure out how to navigate their fake engagement, especially once real feelings got added to the mix. Will they be able to walk away once their short vacation in paradise is over? They definitely are perfect for each other ❤️.
