It's good, well written.
Love triangle situation.
I wasn't too keen on the Hero and felt he should grovel a bit more.
When they FINALLY, get to discuss the past, which gets shelved and shelved over and over again, he says some stuff that's pretty hurtful and he feels very strongly and it felt once she'd explained that was it forgiven. I felt it needed more time for him to come to terms with things, he switched too fast.

Safety gang.
The heroine is considering her situation with the Hero who is back in town and her ex husband has offered to try again, the heroine and her ex husband come close to kissing.
Later he forces a kiss on her and tries for more and she fights him off.

The only intimate scenes are between the Hero and heroine.

HEA.
Epilogue.

This is a story that is very real in this day and age.
Jonah Sheffield and Jillian Adams were HS sweethearts. When Jonah enlisted after graduation, both felt the other had hurt them.
Now 12 years later, Jonah is back home , a shell of himself. While Jillian has an eight year old and an ex trying to get back together.
While the three of them try to figure out what their futures will be , this story is more than a romance.
It’s a story about the effects war has on the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to our freedom. Many have a difficult time returning to civilian life . Upon their return some suffer not only from physical injuries, but also emotional and psychological. PTSD is wide spread and as individuals as well as a nation, we need to do more to help these individuals. Kudos to the author for that reminder.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I loved this story. A sweet romance about second chances. Jonah would stop at nothing to get the woman he loves. Jillian and Jonah have their own demons but the way they reconnected, everything was so relatable.
It gave me all the feels.
This is the second book I’ve read by Danielle and I’m a huge fan. I look forward to reading the next book.

I really enjoyed reading this stand alone book. My first time reading this author and this genre. Enjoyable all around. I will seek out this author again. She really connected into the PTSD and described what he was going thru each time he had an episode so well that I could picture myself right in the room. Could identify with HS romance gone wrong and both sides feel wronged. Then 12 years later how do you start the conversation back up. I feel the book is so relevant to almost every generation from Viet Nam Era to now.

This heartwarming story of the effects of PTSD, decisions that can't be undone, second chances and family interactions is wonderfully done. The author is to be commended for her handling of a timely subject without being overly dramatic or maudlin. I'm partial to Ohio authors and am looking forward to reading more of her works. Congratulations to Ms. Haas on a job well-done.

I’ve never read a sweet romance before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. In the beginning I wanted to shake Jillian! Poor Jonah had some serious demons under his belt. This book hit me in all the feels! Such a great story!

This was a nice second chance read. My one pet peeve is that Jonah and Dylan are Marines but are referred to as soldiers. That annoyed me more than the misspellings. Someone in the Army is a soldier. Someone in the Marine Corps is a Marine.
