我真的是渣受 I Really Am a Slag Shou!

Rate this book
Chi Zhao binds with the slag shou system, and if he succeeds in his missions, he will be rewarded.

But who said life is easy!

A rich old man who was slagged by him: “I know you love me. Your past pains, I’ve already investigated them.”

The star admiral who had been slagged by him: “Don’t be reluctant anymore! I’ve always known that you didn’t betray me.”

The entertainment mogul who was slagged by him: “Don’t make any noise. Honey, will you come home with me?”

The dark sentinel who was slagged by him: “Now, do you still want to say that it is not my child?”

The prince regent who was slagged by him said, “The mountains and rivers are yours, but you are mine.”

Chi Zhao burst into tears: “Boss, believe me just this once. Let me get the reward, okay?”

Thinking that the acting is very good, in fact, every day he’s spreading meng.

Inesperadamente me encantó.

Y no me malinterpreten.

BEWARE of SPOILER

It's that plot where The MC bind with a system so that he can return to his own world and if he failed the missions, he won't just die in the world, but also his own world. What made the story different was that, the world he hop-in wasn't a novel world. It's a virtual reality setting. The ML was a convict, and his sentence was to suffer in each of this virtual reality world. So, MC job was to make ML suffer. The more ML suffer, the more point MC will get. MC wasn't the first person employed by the system for the job. While the rest suffer because of ML retaliation, MC was the only one accepted and somehow managed to turn the setting from torture into angtsy romance. MC was too kindhearted to not go OOC. He did try though and the main system was kind enough to give him point for that.

If I remember correctly, it was the third world where MC decided to not bother with the rules anymore and to just get his man. It was a bit hard because ML never remember the previous world. My heart goes out to the MC every time ML rejected him. The system that was bind with MC tried his best to help MC to gain more point. Sometimes he did things behind MC's back so that ML could suffer more.

What the system didn't mentioned until later world was that, MC only had to do the job for six worlds because after that, ML will be release. The seventh world was a gift from ML to MC. It was more angtsy because MC went all out to get his man, knowing it was the final time. Please note that this novel is a HE.

Apart from MC and ML, we also got a side story of the system and the main system. The main system, as a superior had a body and if the system did a great job, he will also be given a body. When MC went OOC in each world, the system gave up on that dream and instead decided to compete for a singing competition instead. I swear to God there's no cuter system than him. The comic relief of this novel came from the system. The system biggest rival in the singing competition was a rice cooker. Yup, you read it a correctly. It's a rice cooker. The system, main system and rice cooker got their own short side story, which was not enough because it's a love triangle I badly want to read.

I think this is the first Quick Transfiguration (QT) novel that I've read that involves the MC being reborn in different worlds again and again, and I liked it more than I thought I would.

Chi Zhao (MC) believed that he was dead in real life and he had to get 100 points in order to be resurrected and to get those points, he had to be a slag shou to the ML. In total, there were 6 worlds that CZ had to go through and he "failed" in each one, not being able to follow through with being a slag shou and in fact he lived happily with the ML. My favourite arcs were 1, 5 and the last 2 bonus arcs because the world setting was to my preference.

Hm, the ML was disguised as a different person in every world and at first, I thought he was actually and a different person but it turned out that the ML was very much like the MC and in each world they were able to find each other and fall in love, despite all the odds against them. My favourite ML was probably Li Yihan (arc 1) and Lin Changfeng (arc 7) because I think they were the least controlling and creepy ones 😂 it also felt like the MC and ML had better chemistry in those arcs.

If done well, QT can be very entertaining and for the most part, this novel had its strengths but it also had its weaknesses. I liked the system that accompanied CZ because it was funny and cute and I also liked how CZ didn't follow the plot to death and if the plot collapsed, he didn't fret over it and instead just did the best to his abilities to live a happy life with the ML. And even though we got to see the MC go through character development as the story progressed, it wasn't the case with the ML. The ML sometimes would be worse depending on the arc but mostly, the ML was predictable which was rather disappointing to me.

But then again, the ML was one-dimensional because he couldn't remember CZ at all after they entered a new world, so the final arc that involved both of them in the real world was something I was looking forward to. Although CZ lost his memories when he woke up from his coma, but the system gave him a parting gift so that he eventually remembered all the past lives he had lived with the ML and they had a happy ending for real this time.

To be honest, I don't have much expectations before reading this. To me, all QT genre books only need to fulfill one purpose–to entertain; how lousy or how ridiculous the plot is, I don't mind. I only seek to pass time. So, make it fun and don't let me lose interest, okay? Since, they're all roughly the same, isn't it?

BUT! This! I Really Am a Slag Shou! is different.

I am entertained. The plot isn't rubbish. The background information being revealed step by step, indicator that the author has done some planning beforehand. (I love dedicated authors.) The story isn't ridiculously long; not too many arcs. There's character growth.

Most importantly, I can't put it down.

Basically, while it isn't perfect, it is pretty good. I like this, I can remember this, I want to read this again in the future, kind of good.

I hate to break it into quarters and I'd normally say 3.5 and be done with it, but I round up since goodreads doesn't do half-stars and it's definitely not a 4 star for me.
Overall, this could be considered a pretty sweet story. It has a touch of a bite in it but after the first arc it falls pretty heavily to pattern and starts feeling more like your generic QT story. The last two arcs (the cultivation world and then real world) were really sweet and I'm glad they got their happy ending.

I emphatically did not like the extra chapter about the systems. There was something really jarring about the whole "hey this is a love triangle AAAAAND END" and part of it is just a violent hatred for love triangles and the rest is that it was essentially pointless. The author didn't do anything with it beyond establish it existed and then bam. Story's over. Not that I wanted to deal with excruciating chapters of two men fighting over what was clearly going to be an oblivious MC (also annoying) but it was grating to just cut it off there.

This story is really good. I’ve enjoyed the whole process and all of the worlds together with the main couple.

Here we have a nice story with good arcs. They each provide with a different taste. I personally don’t understand why people say that the MC is not developing. I can clearly see how both ML and MC changing through the story. And I like it.

Some of the arcs are heartwarming, when other contains a little more of drama and angst. But there is no dog blood drama, which I’m happy with. The arcs are really pleasing to read and sometimes it’s even difficult to predict what would be next. I was laughing and crying though this good, especially closer to the end.

The ending itself was good. I’m really happy with how it all ended. Thank you, Author! They are such a nice couple. I love them.

About cons, let’s see:
- It was a little bit confusing with the system at first, but that’s okay. Especially, the it was all explained closer to the ending.
- Also, at some point I’ve got a feeling like the epilogues of each new arc is a little smaller and not so good as closer we are to the end. But that’s okay too. Not a big issue.
- It would’ve been nice to have more info about ML or maybe some extras about him.

In general, the conclusion is - I like it! This is a really nice and relaxing read. I will definitely return to it in the future. Recommend.

This novel is so good, I tried to pace myself and failed miserably, finishing it in 2 days.

I think what I liked the most about the stories is that they had such richly developed characters and environments. The author really delves into each mini-world, spending on average 30+ chapters on each, where most qt novels have 10-20 chapters per arc.

Also, each story seems to be a lesson in how to make a disfunctional relationship functional. I was especially impressed by the turn-around in the second arc.

The one part of the novel I thought was a bit disappointing was the ending. I wished the author allowed the main character to own his prisoner character more. I felt that his crime was unnecessarily made to be something sympathetic, which doesn't really match his original unrepenting character setting. The reason why no other hosts could touch him was that he was so hardened and unwilling to connect to others. How did he suddenly become a secret avenger? I think his transformation, and the whole story arc, would be more meaningful if we could see just how much he improved.

This is a transmigration story and I enjoyed it so much more than I expected to. There are 7 arcs to the overall story, and some of the arcs do enter into taboo/trigger warning territory. Other transmigration and quick transmigration stories have arcs that feel fairly similar, but what impressed me most about this book was how the main character grew and changed and therefore his perceptions on love and relationships changed, thus making each arc feel like it was exploring a different facets of what it meant to be in love, have love, be in a relationship, etc. And not all those facets are pleasant, wholesome, and beautiful. By the time the story concludes, though, you're sorry to leave the world created by the author!

It's been a while since my last transmigration novel read, but I really enjoyed this one! There was a good number of arcs, not too much, not too little (even if some are underdeveloped in my opinion)! If I remember correctly, there are 8 arcs within this novel.

The dynamics were interesting to read and some were particularly intriguing, though some subjects can be triggering for some people (check them please). I have to be honest: some are not between the main protagonists and are just mentioned, but still, please be careful if you are sensitive to certain topics.

If you are used to Chinese transmigration novels, this one might not be the most developped one for you, but it is still very light to get into. For those who have never read one before, this one might be a good start as an introduction to the genre!

This wasn't anything new or revolutionary to the quick transmigration trope but it was addicting to read and it had some pretty funny moments and situations, although the last few arcs didn't have as much drama and some were even a bit boring (sentinel arc, I'm looking at you) since a pattern started to emerge.

Summary: Chi Zhao is killed but he has a chance to get resurrected into his body if he completes mission worlds assigned by the slag shou system. He gets a script and has to follow plot points to be a slag shou and let the protagonist suffer and then become great by overcoming the adversity. However, from the very beginning the protagonist seems to fall in love with him easily and derails the plot.

THE RICE COOKER OMG

Anyway, it was a cute novel, I totes ship the main couple and the systems. I only have 2 issues with it:

- It seemed kinda weird for the MC to constantly fall in love with different people when the novel states that he spends years in each world with the last version of the ML. Yes, version because they are not really similar personality-wise (that is great, don't me wrong, but aside from the nape thing its weird even if the emotions were sealed in the first few arcs).

- I feel like the worlds could've been more detailed. This is a nit pick but near the end of each world the author would resume some parts that I would've love to see (I get why the years that they spent together are not written, I mean more like the ending of the arc after they get together in each world)

Anywho, it was a nice read.

I've only read a couple of these types of transmigration FTNs so I'm still setting a baseline for the genre, but I thought this one was fun. There weren't so many reincarnations and the MC's goals and approach were able to change enough each time to keep the arcs from getting too repetitive. It helped that there were some supporting recurring characters - the system and MC's banter was hilarious. And the MC and his LI were both just...so hilariously dumb and the ending was cute.

As with most BL novels there is some inaccurate and occasionally problematic LGBT rep and unhealthy relationship dynamics which helped this one lose a star, but that's its own can of worms and kind of comes with the territory.

Ehhhh... I guess some arcs were more interesting than others? I didn't really have the urge to binge the novel though some arcs did hold my interest. Some just made it feel like it was pretty predictable.

Imo, there were some low level angst as I did feel the heart clenching moments. In general, most arcs revolved around mentally abusing (?) the ML. I wouldn't say it was wife chasing crematorium because as the title suggest, the scum is the shou, not the gong/ ML.

Overall, it's still a fairly interesting read. but whether is it a recommended read.... I guess it's up to one preference. I felt that I would not miss anything if I had missed this novel...

Started out with funny interactions between the system and the host. I like the characteristics of the host. He doesn’t know it all and is trying hard for his promotions like a middle level manager or an assistant to a celebrity. This is different from similar novels where the transmigration includes a system that controls/directs the actions of the lead character and remains stoic or domineering. Then, the story got repetitive and became boring .
