K.C. Grant loves to write! From bad poetry at the age of seven to not-too-much-later attempts at a novel where the main character was a talkative red-haired girl (yes, that wasn't very creative) she has loved to create stories. In her adult career, she has written for family oriented magazines like BackHome, Parents and Kids, The Washington Family and LDSLiving. She was so excited about the release of her first novel in 2010, "Abish: Daughter of God." A sequel, "Abish: Mother of Faith" continues the story of Abish and focuses on the mothers of the stripling warriors.
K.C. will also get to continue her fascination with the setting of Mexico (this time with a modern twist) when her suspense novel titled "Venom" which came out January 2012.
She also belongs to three writers' groups and various other organizations that keep her very busy.
I love reading (and writing slow moving) slow burn romance novels on the sweet side (although I'm writing mostly inspirational novels nowadays) because we have a chance to learn the characters and their growing edges before they even have a chance to grow into relating from the first "meet cute."
Bridget O'Donnell is a dutiful daughter and a certified nursing assistant who lives with and cares for her elderly father, a widower who recently became disabled as a result of an accident. She is burning out on her job and her duties at home. A once in a lifetime chance presents her an opportunity to visit Hawaii for a vacation.
Chase Beckett is a hard living Australian, an elite professional surfer in Hawaii for the latest competitions. He is rarely in one place for long, but travels instead, going all over the world at the behest of the sponsors who provide his income as he competes for prizes. He has no connections to anyone, as he is estranged from his family and being a surfer doesn't leave time for serious relationships, just the occasional women he sees on the circuit.
A chance meeting introduces them to each other and an initial attraction which grows over time. Chase can't understand it, though, as he realizes that his typical relationship strategy doesn't fit the connection he has with her.
Bridget is attracted but wary as well, not only because she is merely on vacation for a week, but because she feels as though he is in a different stratosphere, not only in terms of lifestyle, but in terms of income.
Their burgeoning attraction develops slowly and without high octane heat, it's a low key fire that is kindling between them. At the end of her vacation, how does he feel? Can he be with her? If he can't be with her in the way she needs, can she let him go? Although they go their separate ways, they realize they are better together. Once they reconnect, their happily ever after follows.
A clean refreshing story! The characters are wonderful and the story line is just as wonderful. The author has done such a wonderful job pulling the reader in to the lives of characters that you feel like you're right there beside them. An incredible story you won't want to miss out on.

I loved this book. Clean, some humor, strong characters and a wonderful storyline. I loved how the story ebbed and flowed. I felt caught up in the characters and their lives, like I was living it and watching it all with them. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to more. The Perfect Wave was the perfect book.

This was my first read from this author and it was incredible story. I will definitely read more from this author. It would have been better though, if the story was told from the first POV, other than that a perfect read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
