Whether you call it football or soccer, there's no disputing that David Beckham is one of the best players in the history of the game!
Whenever a young David Beckham was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he'd always answer with the same response: I want to be a footballer. This English native got his wish when he joined the Manchester United team in 1991. Since then, he has been crossing, bending, and free-kicking his way to stardom. In his twenty-year career as a professional soccer player, he has won nineteen major trophies, and appeared at three FIFA World Cup tournaments.
David Beckham has become an international cultural icon for his soccer skills, his charity work, and his fashionable wife and family. Young soccer fans are in for a treat with this Who HQ book.
It's a very good book but it reflects the American point of view of football ⚽ and want to say that football ⚽ isn't important as American football 🏈 or baseball ⚾ or basketball🏀. That what I understood.
This is a brilliantly written story about the life of David Beckham. As a Manchester United fan, I really enjoyed this book. It was really interesting to find out football stars started out in their youth. Really interesting and inspiring story overalll
David had dreamed of becoming a football player for Manchester United as a child and he worked very hard to reach his dreams and make it a reality. He also had all the love and support from his family and friends, his wife, and his own family. I loved reading this book because it was very informative and I like David Beckham a lot. It also made me realize that I can make all my dreams come true if I just keep putting in the hard work. I have always loved reading about famous people.
This was an enjoyable read even though pro-soccer is not a sport I follow. David Beckham's life story (to date) is filled with sport, fashion, and a famous wife.
I prefer the biographies written about past historical figures. The current men and women featured in the Who Is... Series have not stood the test of time and future decisions may impact the way history remembers them.
Who is David Beckham? is a real account of Beckham’s life and career. It shows that he is imperfect, as well as a phenomenal athlete. I do not think that it was entirely necessary to discuss each time that he got a new tattoo of one of his kid’s names, or mention some of his more controversial decision(s). Overall, this was a pretty decent biography for kids.

This is a good synopsis of the life of David Beckham. He was enamored with soccer from his youth and became the world's best soccer player. Take a look at his life in this short but interesting story.
I read this book carefully, it’s great. I learned a lot about David Beckham, including his childhood, man united, real marid, the soccer, the life ,everything that happened in his life!
I wasn't much interested about reading about living people or sports figures, but I decided to expand my selections.
I was impressed with Beckham's passion and drive and the way his parents supported him. I wonder if that will be a common theme in the athlete biographies?
