Adie escaped the Hunters, but not without cost. Nightmares plague her sleep, questioning the choices she made. Or is it something more?

After taking down the Hunters, Adie should be living in bliss. She has everything she wanted, her bakery, friendships, and possibly the love of three powerful demons. But nightmares haunt Adie's sleep, reminding her of the danger her love can bring.

As she withdraws from Emil, Tobias, and Kellen she leaves herself vulnerable. Something dark stalks her sleep, and it might not be just her own troubled thoughts.

When nightmares come to life, Adie faces a horrible choice, one that could endanger the human world or separates her from the demons of destruction.

The Dreamer is back and trying to get out of the Between in order to drag humans into death through their nightmares. With such a powerful being trying to upset the balance between worlds Adie and her crew have to dig deep to defeat this monster born of fear. However, it seems like Adie will have to give up everything in order to reach this goal...the only question is can she get it all back after her sacrifice?

So I will say I really enjoyed Adie on her own in this one. She finally had some direction and confidence in herself. Pushing herself to build power, creating aliances, making connections, planning forms of attack...it was nice to see her being successful through her own making this time around. It was also nice to take a break from the powerplays, the confusion, and sniping that goes on in her relationships for a bit.

This is the first book in the series that I have read that I’m only giving 4 stars. Like the rest, I loved the book and the characters, but while I was reading this one I found myself being confused about things that were happening and I got annoyed when the author would repeat things that were already stated.
Still a good book tho☺️

That's more like it. Nice to see the guys are stepping up. Nice to see Addie making friends and getting stronger, after her self sacrifice that wasn't as pointless as everyone thought. The whole gang was all hands-on deck in this one. I'm curious about Landon and the librarian. Gross tentacle monsters everywhere and a baku protection that will likely come back and bite her in the ass. I felt sorry for Julian with the energy dump. Nice to see Phillip is back. Favorite part was Kellen breaking into dreamland. HFN ending, so looking forward to see what's next.

FMC - Addie Boo Pond
Guys - Kellen, Tobias, Emil
Bad guys - The Dreamer
Support - The witches, Julian, Aren, Tac, Landon, Librarian, imps
New allies - BBBB

TL;DR
If you aren't interested in the details but just want some general thoughts, full review will follow below.
Did I read the entire book? Yes.
Did I enjoy reading this book? Most of the time?
Is this series starting to get repetitive like I thought it would? 100%.

Unfortunately this book fell into what I was worried this series would which is just repetitive plot. Different conflict but add in issues/nuances with the MMCs, bakery and her family as well as some parts of her succubus nature. As much as I would love to know what happens to these characters at the end of this series, I don't know if I want to read another 600 page book and 3 more 400 page books to get there. I just don't see there being enough that could happen without the author just pulling issues out of a hat.

Full Review

Succubus Dreams by L.L. Frost is the 5th installment in The (un)Lucky Succubus series following our FMC Adie Pond on her journey to learn more about her succubus nature while struggling through not only evil conflicts but also real life conflicts between her men, bakery, and friendships. Book 5 felt a bit too long for me compared to the pacing of the first 4 books, this one just fell short. I felt like things dragged on when they didn't need to simply to make the book longer.

The editing slipped up in more places than previously which leads me to believe there may be more and more errors in the upcoming books as well which does also dip into a reason I don't plan to continue this series at this point.

Let's Talk Logistics
some spoilers below but will be hidden
- The Conflict; The big bad completion just felt extremely anti-climatic.

- The Time Skip; BOY do I despise the big bad fight happening and then we get slapped with a big ol time skip right afterwards post rather large event.

- Repetitive Plot for More Books; Unfortunately this is something a lot of larger series fall into, when the authors probably should have taken the time and say 'as much as I love this world, I don't want to bleed it dry'... and I feel like that could very well be what is happening with this book, we are starting the slow bleed. Each book is a new conflict pulled out of a hat with minimal character growth in all aspects of her life but nothing significant.

Final Thoughts
I have enjoyed this world and these characters up to this point but unfortunately I feel like if I want to continue to enjoy them I need to end my journey here within the series, which kills me since it makes me feel like a quitter. I would just rather remember these characters in some form of fondness over feeling like they have been squeezed for all the content that they are worth. As much as I want to see the ending for our lovebirds, I don't want to ruin the good vibes I've had from the series up to this point.

Good luck to Adie and her men moving on from this point, I wish for only the happiest of endings for you.

I hope those that choose to read this book love it, and happy reading!

This box set includes the Serials 23-31. It's the complete story arc of Adie's adventures once the nightmares become real. There are tears of frustration, laughter, hope, fear, excitement, sexy times, and heartbreak found in this bundle. Dreamland, the nightmare monster, the BBBB, the Chaos demons and Adie's assorted friends all play a role and there are special appearances by all sorts of fun little characters. Definitely something for every fan of the little succubus.

I love this series, but I've found myself waiting for the books because I keep forgetting to download the serials.

Dreaming Demons

I’d probably give this 4.5 ⭐️ if I could.

The plot line for this book was on the grand scale of things. When Adie nearly made it to Dreamland on her own, she saw something on the edges. No one believed her, so she let it go. Then a week later Tac woke her from a nightmare to find the same thing on her balcony.

In this book we get to see where succubi and incubi come from and where they get their power. We also find out a bit more about the witches and Baku and the way the demon plane and Dreamland all work together. It’s full of world building stuff this book. It’s also full of really interesting plot, danger and emotions. We start to understand why Adie is so very different from her cousins and what that means for her going forward. It’s a fantastic book and really builds on what has gone before.

I really can’t wait to see what Adie does next.

It's disappointing to be 6 books into an RH romance starring a succubus and not have any group action. Hardly any action at all with any of her demons.
The amount of grammatical errors in this book was much higher, and the chapter of asterisks was annoying to read.
Like most of this series, the book ends without a cliffhanger. Leaving you to read on if you're bored and looking to fill the time.
The repetitive descriptions of each demons magical presence and the few chapters where she interacts with no one on the demon realm were tedious.

With this book in the series, I feel like things have finally started to pick up. Mostly these have been “episode of the week” type stories with the relationships between characters as an overarching plot tying the books together. It feels like we may possibly be ramping up to a bigger story in the next few books?

There was a “big bad” in this book and I appreciated the lead up to discovering what is going on and then having the characters solve the problem. Books I’ve read like this in the past tend to drag this on, culminating in a short fight scene to resolve the conflict. The fight scene in this book was not short but it wasn’t overly long either.

We got more world-building, and got to visit the demon realm as well as Dreamland. We found out more about what ties the demon realm to the human realm and the consequences of past actions. Ley lines were revealed to be an important source of magic for the humans and what ties the realms together.

We also got to spend time with Tally’s brother, Aren, and some other Baku in Dreamland. And of course, Adie gets confirmation that the Baku watch her live her life like the world’s most engaging telenovela. I love that she managed to win their loyalty and creat the BBBB (can’t remember fully what it stands for but it was silly).

I love all the side characters and how they continue to grow close to Adie, being the anomaly of a demon that she is. I also loved that, in the final scene in the book, it seemed like Kellen, Emil, and Tobias are moving towards making this relationship permanent.

One thing I didn’t like was Adie’s actions to kill off her corporeal body. It was based off of overhearing a conversation and she went full-on impulsive and set into motion a chain of events. It bordered on “too stupid to live” but on reflection the author needed to set things up to give us the rest of the story.

I also find it interesting that Adie apologized (as she should have) to Julian because of what she did to him and yet, he’s never apologized for any of his actions. Seems unbalanced there.

I’m looking forward to learning more about the characters’ backstories (beyond finding out that Landon and the Librarian apparently almost made it down the aisle back in the day), including the guys’ previous succubi and the decision made by Landon and Julian to set Adie up with Kellen, Emil, and Tobias.

I’m definitely liking this series now. I picked it up because it was recommended by Lillian Lark, whose books I love. I see now why she said she got pulled into this series and I can’t wait to read the next 4 books.

Damn! What a ride was this? I wasn't expecting this when diving into this book, especially because the first books were so focussed on Adie living a normal life, her slowly falling for her demons and the other way round, her making friends and her slowly growing into her powers and learning more about herself and what she's capable of. But it seems that all this time we've been building up to this awesomeness!

I started this book this morning and I had trouble putting it away. It's so addictive! And that has firstly to do with the characters. I already told you about Adie and how awesome she is, but this book also has some amazing side character. Adie's best friend has a harem of witches and they are all awesome too. Not just because they're good friends for Adie, but also because they have this unique dynamic. I'd love to read books just about them and how they came together! (I might check if it maybe already exists, if not, I hope Frost writes it!)

It also has to do with the writing style. The writing style really shows Adie's character. It's her way of talking we're reading and it feels natural. And on top of that the story goes fast, very fast. The amount of pages may make this book seem big and heavy, but it's a light and easy read and Frost never loses herself in useless details.

And where the previous books focussed a lot on normal life and building relationships, this one was really plot heavy. We got to see a lot more from the world. We got to see dreamland, we got to see the demon realm and we've learned a lot about magic and how it works. And from start to finish it's an exciting adventure. I was holding my breath, I was surprised, I was excited and I was so totally into this!

It's weird that now I'll have to wait for quite a while for the next book, but I'm sure it will be totally worth it!

Dreaming darkly

Adie feels pulled thin. And that's before something invades her dreams. Tac chased it out a window, then followed it. Giant demon bat cats aren't something humans are used to seeing. She needs the guys to help get him back in the house. But when they discovered what he was chasing worries over kitties were forgotten. Something big bad and terrifying is about to break free. And it's using Adie as the bridge to Earth. She only has 1 option, but what will happen to the guys if she unmakes herself?

Spoilers ahead.
Ok, Adie went from trying so hard to make rational decisions to going back to impulsiveness. And in the process became a ridiculously powerful near Mary Sue. Power became the answer to everything, and was all too readily available. There were a lot more typos than normal, too. And the hospital scene had issues with inconsistency. One minute she's coated with a substance that not only is a concern for her own skin, but humans', too. And a human pats her shoulder while coated with zero affect. And a few other things along those lines. And after spending most of the book either on other planes of existence, or unable to touch the guys, time she spends growing and developing, it's almost instant reversion when she gets back. But I do hope we see more of the bbbb in future books.

Adie again

Adie continues to make mistakes in her haste, she is impulsive and a flurry of emotions. She draws on power to create a tsunami that she barely controls. We visit the demon realms, the Between and spend some time in Dreamland - Aren Cassidy Jimboba and of course the BBBB -- the humour found in Adie's epic heroic journey is priceless and creates a rich tapestry of characters that each help Adie to grow and mature as she finds her way. Adie never accepts the limitations, she pushes boundaries and questions the long held ideas and beliefs, the prejudice against witches, the Baku, Imps, and attacks every impossible task with an exuberance of spirit. This installment will melt your heart as her relationships deepen, her sense of self and strength grows along with her many friendships and family ties.

All hail the BBBB!

I'm giving this book a 5 star review simply because of team BBBB!

One thing I love about this series is how unserious it is. And I think this book is the second best of the series. #1 is the first book when we are introduced to Adie and the world she lives in.

We get to see more of the Baku in this book and what they do in their free time, which is just hilarious!

I'm glad this series is 9 books long. The pacing is exactly how it needs to be, and I'm excited to explore the world, even if it's at Adie's expense.

I won't lie. The main catalyst for this book did grind on my nerves. Her impulsiveness is sometimes charming and funny. Sometimes, it's just plain silly and aggravating. This is one of the aggravating ones.

At least for me. Overall, though, 10/10 would recommend

Adie finally stepped up!

Her relationship with her men still leave a lot to be desired, they nit pick at eachother all the time. Even though they have already fallen into bed, the relationship doesn't feel fully formed or realised. The way they treat eachother backs that up as well.

There was some adventure in this book, it didn't feel like an adult adventure though? More like it come out of a kids show, perhaps a spin off on some Ben 10 episode.

However, Adie actively trying to power up and looking to herself for answers was a big highlight and made up for that.

I wish the book concentrated a little bit more on the lifetimes she had in the demon realm and it wasn't just brushed off. Would have been nice to see the difference in the Adie now VS before, not just in power level either.

This was a good series. The beginning books are better than the later books. It is fun to see how Adie came to be, how she got to where she is, and to see her grow into what she will become. There are some good sex scenes and there is some fun plot lines and twists. But books 5 & 6 (other than the sex) are lacking in plot creativity and writing making the books drag along. Just wanted to warn you before you become too invested in this series on the first book.

Overall it is a good read for a slow-burn.

I think this will be the last book I read in this series. I really love the world building and I am really invested in Adie as Protector of the Imps and her friendships with Tally and her men.

What I am not invested in are her relationships with the mmcs. I feel like we're 5 books in and I know very little about them and little to no progress has been made on either side to develop the relationship. In fact, Adie is actively backsliding on everything.

At this point, I'm more interested in the world building, the other characters and the bakery. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fun

This is a fun, unique collection in the Sucubbus Serials - gathered together in a full length book so you don’t have to read the individual installments of short serials bother you. This one continues the growing love story between Adie and her destruction demons, and sets them all on a crash course to dreamland where an old monster is rising. Fast, fun, hot and action packed.

FMMM, PNR RH, first person, single POV, episodic ending.

Finally!!! Adie gets out of her own way

….although judging by the synopsis for the next books, something else may get in their way. This book brings all the teams together working for the greater good. I loved seeing more Landon and Julian, it’s great to see that they’re not all selfish. There’s definitely less bakery action if that’s your thing and I really want to learn how to ice some kitty witches.

I read the first five of these in a row and this is basically a review for all of them. Reverse harem, but suffers from what annoys me in much of the genre. The men have only superficial character development. Adie should be way more angry about the machinations that set their relationships in motion, plus the fuckery that happens in the first book. The weird power dynamics are not addressed in any meaningful way. The plots meanders after the first two books or so.

I'm

In love with a Catastrophe demon or three... I'm also in love with this series. Aide has become my favorite demon out of any sci-fi, paranormal, or horror series. I can't wait for the next book!! I've already downloaded part 32 and 33!

She’s back to being frustrating

Needs a tiny bit of editing (Jesse suddenly became Jessi, but only once). Overall this one was okay but I felt Adie reverted for a lot of her old habits.

Better Every Time

I swear this series gets better with every installment! This was a ride from start to finish. The guys get more and more possessive and power calls to our little succubus from all over. A little heartbreak. A lot of love. A little spice.

I’m a fan. Can’t wait to see what the next adventure brings.

It gets better and better!! Love Adie!!!!

I love this book! Adie continues to show how love is really all that matters...friends, family, even new friends. She comes back and remakes herself stronger...that alone was an amazing story line.

possibly the best one yet.

It’s the adventure, true character development, and little things you learn about their world that add to the already amazing story line. Loooooove it.
