I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book. This is a book of second chances and a love that will always be true. Nicole always delivers on every level for me, secrets, intrigue and fully engaging characters.
Leo and Clarissa have a shared and broken past, it’s been eight years since they last laid eyes on each other and do much has changed. Clarissa is back in Hearts Edge the town she promised she would never return to after heartache and tragedy forced her to escape but now her sister is missing she knew she’d have to return. Facing the good and bad and a father that could only be described as the devil, can Clarissa face the heartache and the only man she would ever love to find her sister and will she finally tell Leo the secret she should have told him eight years ago?
Nine is a legend in Hearts Edge he was once a man called Leo that fell for a girl he wanted to be with forever but after heartbreak tore them apart he was reclusive and feral forgetting Clarissa was never an option but he is no longer the man she once knew and she’s a woman he wants to know and love. Can he find his way back to the surface and love the woman and family meant to be his or are their outside influences destroying a chance at a future?
These characters are jumping off the page and I defy you not to love Nine/Leo he was such a heartbreaking character but these two needed and deserved the HEA. Be ready for an emotional ride with this book.
Each book that is set in Hearts Edge just gets better and better. The chemistry between Leo and Clarissa were so hot. They were a couple when they were younger and due to some very unfortunate circumstances, they were torn apart. 8 years have passed since the last time they saw each other and things have changed. They are brought back together because of a tragedy and now they have to work together to get to the bottom and save her sister. This story was so good. It was fast paced with plenty of action, drama and romance. It will keep you on the edge of your seats as you are reading it. You won’t want to put it down.

This is probably one of the longest books I have read in a while but I can honestly say it didn't take me long to get through it. In this book, we return to Heart's Edge, readers were originally exposed to the small town in No Good Doctor. It is not necessary to read that book first but it will lay a little more ground work from other character's perspective. Anyway, Clarissa has not been back to Heart's Edge for eight years but returns as she is looking for her missing sister. She does not return alone, she has her eight year old son. Leo is the man to help her find her sister but what happens when he finds out that eight years ago he unknowly became a father. These two characters have a past together, Leo has a dark past of his own, is parenthood in Leo's future or is a HEA in store for them both? I absolutely loved reading this great story that had some twists and turns to keep you wondering what was going to unfold next. There are secrets that are exposed, feelings that hurt, lives that are endanger and of course some serious lust and attraction between Clarissa and Leo. Enjoy!

I tried to like this book, I really did. But I finally had to stop at 66%. I wasn’t a big fan of the female main character, I didn’t like that she talked about trying to protect her son but literally talked about super sensitive matters in front of her seven year old? I just didn’t “feel” this book and just couldn’t keep my attention on it. The writing is good, and I’ve read other books by this author but this one just didn’t click for me. I feel like we’re going and going but not getting anywhere with the book.
I’m not going to lie, I was a little hesitant going into this book. While I loved the first two in the series, and was incredibly intrigued to learn more about Nine’s past and to see his redemption, I’m really not a big fan of the “secret baby” trope. This isn’t a spoiler, this is something that we know right from the sneak peek and maybe even from the back of the book. (I didn’t read the blurb--the sneak peek hooked me) That said, this book handles the trope extremely well, and it isn’t exactly front and center in the plotline. The overarching plot focuses on Clarissa’s missing sister and Galentron, the evil corporation that’s up to its usual shenanigans. The plot is intense and fast-paced and everything that I love in a romantic suspense. Nine is just as compelling a romance hero as I’d hoped he would be. He wants nothing more than to protect Heart’s Edge and the woman that he loved--and still loves--from Galentron and any other dangers that might be lurking in the shadows. Despite not being a fan of the secret baby trope, I have to admit that Zack was such a cute kid. He’s incredibly smart, sweet, thoughtful and he loves his mother so dearly. We fortunately don’t have to deal with any bratty antics that children in books sometimes get themselves into. We also get to see the past couples in this book, and it’s so rewarding to get to see them experiencing their happy ever afters--even if Heart’s Edge seems to constantly be in danger from something or other. All in all, this series is continuing strong with the third book, and I can’t wait to read Blake’s love story in the next instalment!
Words can’t describe just how good this book was! I kept seeing a high rating and I knew it wasn’t the first in the series but you don’t have to read them to read this book. I had no clue what to expect but it was so much more. This is one of my favorite reads of 2019. Check it out it’s also available on Kindle Unlimited! You won’t be sorry!
Truth In The Legend Nine became a legend in Heart’s Edge. But before he became Nine, he was just a soldier who fell in love with a girl who he wanted to be with forever. Tragedy tore them apart and Clarissa ran away to start over. Before she left, he promised that one day he would find her and they would be together again.
It’s been eight years since she ran. Now she’s back searching for her missing sister. She swore she’d never step foot in Heart’s Edge again, but saving her sister was enough of a reason to bring her back.
Clarissa has so many memories of her hometown. Some good but filled with heartache for the man she left behind. The rest is nothing but reflections on her living nightmares. Her father was the devil. A heartless and cruel man who only cared about power and money.
This romantic suspense was a page-turner. Nine was a beast who had forgotten his own humanity after being forced to live like an animal in hiding. However, you couldn’t help but feel his pain and love him anyway. Clarissa may gave started over, but her heart was left behind. I loved these characters, old and new.
Nine and Clarissa shared an intensity that was beyond words. They had chemistry that sizzled off the pages. When they connected it was body, mind and soul. There was so much to this story and I enjoyed all of it. A new favorite from this author.
This is a fantastically imaginative and clever story. It is well written throughout and intelligent. It is told from two POV, Clarissa the strong, independent heroine and her long lost love Leo, otherwise known as Nine or The Monster of Heart’s Edge. They have known each other since childhood and were heavily involved in their late teens, however this was never a normal love story. Kidnapped as a child and forced to under go unimaginable torture, cruelty and brainwashing to create a new breed of super soldier, Clarissa has always been Leo’s light in his darkness. Clarissa had a charmed life from the outside looking in as the mayors eldest daughter, but scratch the surface and Clarissa was suffering cruel abuse from her father who was heavily involved with Galentron, the evil behind Leo’s suffering. One night, 8 years ago, things came to a violent head. They lead to Clarissa fleeing Heart’s Edge and Leo living in the wild as an outcast, on the run from the law after escaping prison, but ultimately looking over Heart’s Edge as its protector. Clarissa is sucked back into Heart’s Edge’s evil when her younger sister Deanna goes missing after digging into the past and unearthing secrets that Galentron want to keep buried. Upon returning she comes face to face with her long lost love as they work with their trusted childhood friends in a desperate race against time to find Deanna and bring her home safely. The story is brilliant, the characters are interesting and believable. Leo has been to hell and back and his character is so tortured but he has a heart of gold and still has eyes only for Clarissa. For Clarissa, she has never gotten over Leo and it’s as if time has never passed when they are reunited. There are so many secrets, so many twisted characters and so much camaraderie. Simply superb! A must read.

Leo and Clarissa were together until tragedy tore them apart. Clarissa left Heart's Ridge to start over but she has a big secret. Years later she is back in the small town looking for her sister and Nine (Leo) is the one that may have the answers. Leo was in love with Clarissa before he became a soldier named Nine. This time he's determined to keep Clarissa and he is also finding out he is a father. A crazy mixed up romance but a great read.

In the small town of Heart's Edge there is a monster living in the hills. The Legend, the Outcast, Fugitive and Myth, NINE. What the town really doesn't know is that Nine is protecting the town and everyone in it from a nasty company called Galentron. He watches from the shadows, keeping them safe even though they blame him for a tragic fire that happened 8 yrs ago. Secrets and misconceptions surround Leo (Nine) as he comes to terms about his old flame being back in town. Clarissa has come home since her sister is missing and she has her young son with her. A son with violet eyes that look black until the light hits them, just like his father, Leo. She doesn't know how to tell him, yet. She doesn't know what their relationship is going to be like and she has to protect her son and herself. This story, "No Broken Beast", answers all of our questions and explains the truth of Leo and Clarissa's awful childhoods. Or lack thereof, in Leo's case. We learn about how their relationship came to be, his time with the Nighthawks/Galentron, and what ultimately tore them apart years ago.
Every word will keep you on the edge of your seat. A love story, through and through, that will keep you turning the pages as you absorb every word. Passion. Suspense. A Hero and Love. Don't miss this story by Nicole Snow. 5*****
** I did receive a ARC from the author and while this never guarantee's a positive review, this is my Honest review." **
WOW!!! This story is INTENSE and ADVENTUROUS & MYSTERIOUS & yes, all of those needed the all caps. ; )
Even though I've read (and LOVED) No Perfect Hero, I felt a little lost in the overall mystery plot at times, especially because a lot of their relationship is told via flashback, which is also not my favorite. Still, I HIGHLY enjoyed Leo & Rissa! And Zach, great kiddo! The intrigue was enough to keep me interested & eager to see how everything would play out. And Leo's sweetness, his heart... Loved!! Rissa's fierce determination to find her sister, and protect her family, was also very well written.
This author is exceptional. The amount of thought and details that she puts in to the timeline of her stories is mind boggling. Even though every story is a standalone they still carry threads of the previous story and glimpses of other characters.
This book his filled with suspense, mystery, longing, chemistry, and second chance love. It might be one of the top books by this author that I have read(which says a lot since I've read just about every book she has written--which is a lot). Definitely recommend this series.
Primal. Intense. High octane heat and suspense all wrapped up in a hearts on the line love story that won't be complete until the madness in Hearts Edge truly ends.
For the love of all things fictional! Clarissa and Nine's ( Aka Leo ) painfully dark past, combined with the present- a mind-blowing journey I wasn't sure I wanted to end! Talk about keeping me on the edge of... sanity- the rollercoaster of emotions, eye-opening revelations, and magnetic chemistry swirled around in my mind. All my favorite characters back to do their part, while others start to grow on me. A perfect addition to the Hearts Edge reads, this book can be read as a standalone, but if you have not read the others, I highly suggest jumping on those right away! They are worth it! Ms. Snow outdid herself with 'No Broken Beast'- I look forward to reading where she goes from here!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Wow! I was hooked from the very beginning and could not get enough. This suspenseful romance was astoundingly good! Murder, mystery, danger, darkness, suspense, kidnapping, passion, and intrigue that make it very interesting and compelling to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. NO BROKEN BEAST reminds me of a modern day beauty and the beast with a twist and what a twist it has. The Beast or Monster or Nine (Leo Regis) are the names that were given to Leo, the ginormous man with the scars and abstruse tattoos, after an incident that occurred over eight years ago from the towns people of Heart’s Edge who treats him like an urban legend. Leo has been through his own torment. Leo has designated himself as Heart’s Edge protector by living in the woods/cave and only coming out at night. Clarissa (Rissa) Bell has returned to her home town, Heart’s Edge, to check on her candy store that was opened by her sister Deanna. Rissa notices that the store is a fiasco, but worse is that her sister was nowhere to be found. Rissa left her home town over eight years ago and took her younger sister Deanna with her—someone she vowed to protect. Now, too many memories of what happened years ago has surfaced—including her father who was involved in some terrible things, the house she grew up in, and the man they called Beast/Monster/Nine or Leo, the love of her life. Rissa has a secret that she does not want the Beast to know right now. Both Rissa and Leo have had some rough things happen to them in their lifetime, and both are afraid of where their future may be heading for both of them. Now, Beast/Nine (Leo) has a chance to right some wrongs and protect Rissa in the process. In true Beauty and the Beast fashion, they grown closer and fall in love. There are some terrible villains in this story and it is not all hearts and roses. There is so much pulse-pounding suspense in this book, it is just absurd! This story is entertaining and fervent, with a dash of dreams coming true. The storyline is fluid, and the characters are extremely well developed. You won’t regret reading No Broken Beast!
Plot-driven, Richly Developed, And Smartly Written: Action, Suspense, And Mystery Infuse This Emotional, Steamy Romance. Get The Tissues Ready!
Clarissa Bell, candy store entrepreneur and about twenty-eight, reluctantly returns from Spokane, Washington to her childhood hometown of Heart's Edge, Montana. She never wanted to return to the place that held so many horrible memories. The scar on her cheek is a constant reminder of her past and that pivotal night eight years ago. But the sight of her son, seven year old Zach, reminds her that there are some good memories, too. All that matters now, however, is finding her younger sister Deanna, who had recently returned to Heart's Edge and has apparently been kidnapped.
Leo Regis, a local legend referred to as Nine, is a giant, hulk-like beast of a man that lives mostly in his own self-imposed solitary confinement, surviving in the wilderness and mostly keeping to himself. The scars mostly hidden behind tattoos remind him of his guilt - of his association with Galentron. Blamed for the death of the town's mayor and a hotel fire eight years ago, he is a fugitive from the law. He chooses to neglect his friend "Doc" Gray Caldwell's offer to help clear his name, preferring to bide his time waiting ... for an elusive something.
Leo and Rissa's story is about two souls that struggle for freedom and find love in the process. Survivor's guilt, confusion, and a misguided sense of duty have held Leo captive years beyond having broken free from Galentron. Yet Leo still finds his greatest strength in his memories of Clarissa, when he was eight and again at twenty-two. Rissa's protective instinct has prevented her from facing her past since she ran, but destiny has a mind of its own. She struggles to come to terms with the past when finally forced to return to Heart's Edge.
Although Leo and Clarissa's journey is tragic, some of the most moving passages from the story center around Zach. Leo's discovery of Zach's paternity and the instinct he has despite his own cruel upbringing evoke raw emotion. As wonderful as it is to see Leo finally feel loved again, his love for Zach will have you grabbing the tissues. Leo and Rissa (and Zach) truly deserve their HFN ending. Their is a free flash forward story available for download at the end, and presumably future Heart's Edge stories will provide a peak at the family in the future.
Haley and Warren Ford of No Perfect Hero (Heroes of Heart's Edge Book 1) appear is this story as well as Doc Gray Caldwell and Ember of No Good Doctor (Heroes of Heart's Edge Book 2). Might Blake Silverton and Fuschia Delaney have a future book?
The legend of Nine had been steeped in mystery, but Leo and Clarissa's story tells the heartbreaking and tragic story of the man behind the rumors, scars, and ink. Leo and Rissa have much in common, and it is his fixation on her that saves him and helps him to maintain his hold on humanity despite the beast he was made to be. Action, suspense, and mystery infuse this emotional, steamy romance. The book is well-written. The POV alternates between Clarissa and Leo. The plot-driven story is richly developed and smartly written. The characters are well-defined. Clarissa and Leo are easy to love, and Leo will sit with you long after you finish the book. I rate this book five stars.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we are back Hart's Edge for another part of the story. In this one we get Leo "Nine" Regis's story and we are introduced to Clarissa Bell. Remember we met nine in "No Good Doctor". Nobody in that story was saying anything about how they really knew nine. Now we learn who and why nine is the way he is. We learn about the woman he loved so much that he even went to jail for her to protect her. We also learn about all of his scars. Nine has many secrets that is this book can no longer stay hidden. Clarissa learned some hard lessons at a young age some good some so bad they sent her running from Hart's Edge. There was one thing no one knew before she ran though and now that she is back she isn't sure how that will be received. See she left pregnant with Leo's baby. She also left with many other secrets that she begged her sister to leave hidden to bad she didn't listen. Now she is back in a town she never wanted to return to with a man she isn't sure she is ready to see again. Will these two find a HEA or will the secrets in their past make that something that people will kill to make sure never comes to light?
This author puts out amazing stories that have you craving more from her. This book is not different. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin any of the twists in this book for any other readers. I will say this book will hook you from the first word and not let go till the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
The Mystery, the Legend of Nine: Worth the Wait! This entire series has been a gem. Throughout the series we've heard the whispers, felt the shudders, and practically tasted the fear of the man known as Nine. Now, finally, it's his turn... and Baby, he is worth the wait! This man truly is the stuff of legends. While the town whispers didn't exactly have him in the Greek god status, they should have. I guess that's to be expected when the titan spends so much time in the shadows that the townspeople only get momentary peeks at him once in a while.
Those of us who have read the previous books in this series have been waiting to find out what happened to make the beast of a man known as Nine. BTW--if you haven't read the stories leading up to this one, no sweat, this one can stand on its own. We finally find out who Nine really is, WHY he is, and what really happened in Heart's Edge so many years ago. As with so many things in life, this horrible, terrible tale has beautiful elements to it that no one knew about (*ahem* almost no one). It's like finding budding flowers in the burned out forest. The horrible events of so long ago actually brought about some wonderful things. Someone's just got to put the pieces together...and maybe convince a man he's not a monster.
This story has such heart, such depth, such pain and beauty intertwined. Oh. My. Heart. There simply aren't the words to adequately describe the breathtaking quality this tale invokes. Magnificently done.
Um idk about this book, the characters were okay, I really liked all the suspense stuff and the whole saving the town aspect I really liked Zach cuz he was super cute, I might change my rating in a while but it just felt like it dragged on and took forever to get thru 😭
First off can we please take a moment to appreciate this cover?! I don’t usually comment on covers as they are not as important to me as the story, but this one… yeah he made my dreams!! SO VERY HOT!! He is also the embodiment of Nine, the main character, so that makes it extra drool worthy!
Okay, now for my review….
I have been reading this author for years, and she has a special place in my heart because I can always count on her stories; they never fail to up lift me and to satisfy me. This story is my favorite in this series and it is an excellent example of this author’s gift at writing.
Nine is an enigma; a scarred and determined, fierce and loyal ghost. His story has been a mystery for years (for both me and the town of Heart’s Edge). He is always there, in the shadows, protecting and watching. Though I have noticed him, I have never learned much about him. This is what makes him my most anticipated mystery, makes this my most anticipated story. I NEEDED his story, needed to see what he was all about, what he went through and how, oh, how he was going to get his HEA (because let’s face it, this author will ALWAYS give us a HEA). To say I was blown away is an understatement!! This story is pure perfection.
The story starts out with a kidnapping forcing Clarissa to come home to a town that only holds hurt and horrors. She left years ago after the ultimate tragedy that took everything away from her. She has found her life again (outside of this town and by pure determination) but the mystery and haunting of this town forces her back into her own nightmare. Clarissa, now with son in tow, must do everything she can to get her sister back and get her son away from this life.
Nine (or Leo as he was known in another life), is still here, still alive, still watching, and still protecting; but only from the darkest shadows. He has taken it upon himself to help the citizens of Heart’s Edge even though they fear him, even though they think him a murderer. If that doesn’t tell you the kind of man he is, well…
The story is rich in plot and emotions (I think I started to tear up in the second chapter? LOL). The characters are substantial and sharp, real and broken, kind and bold. This is a true story of redemption and not just for the main characters, but for an entire town. All the characters I have come to love and respect are in this story and I could not be happier to have little glimpses of them again.
As much as I want to keep going, I think I will leave you here. If you have never read a story from this author before, this is an amazing one to start with; you won’t be lost (though I go highly recommend the others in the series for full satisfaction on the larger plot). If you have read this author before, well… need I say more? I had the extreme pleasure of reading this ARC and this is my honest review.
I really enjoy Nicole Snow’s books and have especially enjoyed the books with Hearts Ridge as the back drop. The intrigue, secrets and constant pulse beating at each story makes it easy to get tangled up in the story turning the pages as fast as you can read them. I especially enjoyed Nine (Leo) finally getting his story and a path back into the light. A broken soul keeping constant watch on the town he has been trying to save for years. I have two very specific thoughts on this book. One it should be made into a move. I can see it in my head plan as day. The imagery spun, especially of Halloween night. I can even see Dwayne Johnson as Nine. I don’t normally visualize specific actors or people when reading so it was an interesting experience to get this whole visual experience while reading this story. My second thought is on the scene description of Leo fighting with Nash over one of Deanne’s clues. It was clunky. My one and only complaint about the book. I just never understood why Nine’s memory was been told by Clarissa. It made it difficult to read, difficult to follow and considering the movie was filming in my mind difficult to picture. I would love to see this scene reworked and told as if Nine is telling it to his Rissa. It would make more sense and flow much better, especially considering it would follow the way the rest of the story was told better. But please do not take this one criticism as a reason not to read this book. It is a blip of 5 or 6 pages amongst a brilliantly told story. I highly recommend this one along with all of Nicole Snow’s stories. You just can’t go wrong with any of them but especially with this one.
Here is another character of Heart’s Edge – NINE or Leo or Tiger, however you want to name him, he is the beast of the town. This story is focused on Leo, Clarissa, and Zach. Leo is one that burned down the hotel years back and killed the mayor. The mayor was Clarissa’s father and he was in some shady business knowing that hundreds were going to die, he didn’t care just as long as he got paid. Leo worked security during his time and that is where he met Clarissa. Leo killed the mayor when he intervened while the mayor was trying to kill Clarissa, so it was justified, but Leo never knew that Clarissa was pregnant when he sent her away. Zach is Clarissa and Leo’s son, but Leo figured it out when she returned to Heart’s Edge. Most of everything that happened occurred eight years ago, but now Clarissa returned to find her sister Deanna who was kidnapped by Galetron because she is snooping around to find out what happened years ago. This town has too many secrets and it all revolves on a disease that Galetron promised the government to find an antidote. Again, too much going on in this small town, but the characters are special. Fuchsia is a character that came into play as she worked for Galetron, but now is trying to do goo, but is she truly trying to help with Deanna’s rescue or trying to help herself out. I won’t spoil the story but there is a lot of action, mystery, heartbreak and love.

I have been waiting for Nine’s story for a while now and am so glad to have the opportunity to finally read it. Let me say Ms. Snow does not disappoints No Broken Beast kept me on the edge of my seat. The story had lots of drama and suspense. The book was well written and flowed beautifully. It also showed how love can conquer all. Clarissa and Leo have a history, but she left town, and she’s been gone about eight years...When her sister goes missing, Clarissa comes home to Heart’s Edge, to help find her, and she brings a surprise, especially for Leo, with her. The story is rich in plot and emotions. The characters are substantial and sharp, real and broken, kind and bold. All the characters I have come to love and respect are in this story and I could not be happier to have little glimpses of them again. The scenes are so colorfully described it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them
I loved the ending! This book answers all the questions I’ve had throughout the Heart’s Edge series and gives us lots of history of Heart’s Edge, of Leo and Clarissa’s past relationship, of Leo’s childhood, of Galentron, his time as a Nighthawk...and the fire....It’s a good book...
The mysterious Legend of Hearts Edge also known as “Nine” (Leo) has been keeping an eye on the town, always watching from the shadows and protecting it. This is an intense, suspenseful and captivating read. We get answers to questions of Galentron’s evil intentions and its secrets. When Clarissa’s sister Deanna is kidnapped, She returns home to find her. It’s been 8 years since that fateful night when the hotel burned down, her father tried to kill her and Leo saved her life and then she ran away. Clarissa has secrets, too; some things she needs to tell Leo. Heart stopping revelations as to Leo’s life, trials and how he became the monster he is today. A MUST READ! I loved Leo’s character, his strength and determination to take down Galentron once and for all!

Nail biting anticipation and tension, spellbinding suspense, everlasting love In the words of this book’s hero “Screwed up, scarred and beautiful” nicely sums up the roller coaster thrill ride that has been the life, love and destiny of Leo and Clarissa. No Broken Beast (Hearts Edge Book 3) by Nicole Snow is a true triumph in so many ways; justice, love, family. Needless to say, this exceptionally well written book had me wishing I could read faster but not wanting to miss a single word. It’s an edge of your seat, nail biter suspense while also the fulfillment of a destined-to-be love story in a “third time’s a charm” kind of way. I love all of the characters in this series, but Leo and Clarissa are extra special as they have had the toughest road to navigate, mountains to climb and obstacles to clear. The plot of this book began in the first book, was brought to light more clearly in the second and implodes in this book (although it can be read on it’s own). It also connects all the characters from previous books more deeply and with history. Everything about the story of this town, with these characters, is intriguing, interesting, captivating and engaging. Overall, a truly spectacular and exceptionally well written book that provides the reader with all the best things in a romantic suspense; wonderful characters, deeply emotional, connection, never ending love, triumphant justice and a much deserved, joyful HEA. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
