Despite the well written story, I was a little bit tired of the repetitive sex between Luther and Lexi.

What the hell? A guy comes barreling ass through your door, after having beat up your brother... he threatens you... throws you around, grabs your lady parts and tells you that you’re basically going to sell your body to pay him back money your brother owes to him, rips your hair out and then proceeds to tell you that when you do in fact have sex, it will be because you want to... and then when he leaves, although you’re scared shitless through this whole ordeal (as one would rightly be!!!!!!!!) you’re first thought is about how sexy the guy is? Nope! Can’t do it!

The simple answer is yes. But, there isn't really simple in Luther and Lexi's story, because there are all kinds of things happening, even aside from just the burgeoning feelings they're developing. But let's talk about those feelings, because they're the heart and soul of Unexpected Surrender. First off, you must know that this is a seriously, seriously sexy story. It has shades of BDSM in it, after all, the club where they meet is that kind of club. And Luther wants, no, demands, Lexi's submission. The question is, will she, can she, submit? But not just her body, but her heart and soul, too. Because Luther is an all or nothing kind of guy. He may be a bit flummoxed by the actual emotions he has for Lexi, but the rest he knows just what to do with. And damn does he do what he wishes!!
Even aside from the emotional aspect, though, everything else about Unexpected Surrender is also top notch reading. The plot is complex, fast paced, and all the characters are riveting. This is really J.M. Walker at her absolute best!!

Not so great on the whole deliverance
There were parts that would make me feel eager for more, but felt a lot confused as well. I don't mind if there's a lot of sex or no sex at all, but only when it feels natural or tactful.
The whole thing with Charlie and Georgio baffled me.

This book is so good and I really loved reading it. I'm a huge J.M Walker reader and this one doesn't let you down if you know and love her work. This is the story of Lexi and Luther. They have quiet the story to tell and I can tell you that is a little dark and twisted, but they really have their moments of discovery in more ways than one. Lexi needs to save her brother. He has gotten himself in quiet the mess and owes some very dangerous people. The only way that Lexi is ever going to be able to get him out of the mess he is in is to give herself to the man in question. They have one smoking hot story to tell and I can tell you that you do not want to miss this book no matter what you do. Go, grab it and get to reading.

Deliciously and deviously captivating. When you war between loyal obligation and your own desires you discover just how far you’ll go to secure your future. Confusing
I liked it. I liked the writing, the storyline, the relationship. But I was so confused through all of it. There were so many plot twists I couldn't keep up. Everything around Charlie and georgio I still don't understand. Other than that, a good read

The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to fall for and care about too. Lexi Adams is trying to keep her family deli business a float, it is just her and her brother Charlie, he was helping her with the bills, but she quickly learns he has not paid the bills in months. She also learns he has gotten himself in deep with some shady people. Making matters worse, he owes them money and no other than the notorious Luther Knight comes looking for it and threatens Charlie. WOW!! My mind is completely blown away. Unexpected Surrender is exquisitely written, gripping, sensual, and wholly captivating. J.M. Walker is one talented author; her writing is sophisticated, expressive, and daring with vivid imagery with enthralling and brilliantly developed characters. Lexi and Luther are authentic, three-dimensional, complex with genuine emotional depth. Their story is intense, passionate, erotic, poignant, thrilling, addictive, and absolutely riveting. The drama, emotional turmoil, suspense, shocking twists and turns made the story exceptional, unpredictable, and exciting, keeping me on the very edge of my seat. I cannot wait to listen to J.M. Walker's next release; she is definitely made to my follow-list.

Lexi was struggling to pay bills, make ends meet and it only got worse when her brother turned up beaten, and the man that did it behind him. Luther, he did however give her a card and that it might help with the debt that her brother owed him.
Luther has never met anyone that hold his interest like Lexi but she’s denying anything between them.
Lexi didn’t realise that the club gave her something she was missing, she needed control taken away from her, she needed to let someone take care of her for a change. The problem was there was Luther, and he knew what he was doing, and she felt guilty about the club.
Luther couldn’t do it anymore, he needed to let Lexi know that her master and him were one and the same, she surrenders to her master easily, but not to him. Luther realises that Lexi is stronger than he thought, but will she be able to handle everything, including what he needs.

Great promise, cringy execution,
Oh man, I think I got whiplash from reading this. The first plot twist was reaching but believable, the 4th or 5th after that, were not. It read like the author didnt know where the story was going so she just covered all bases out of 5 possible avenues.
The main characters personas Started off Great and then fell apart during the plot twists. My biggest peeve was the female lead. The build up to a scene with the male lead, she'd be all on board, then all of a sudden she would have to pause to demand this big serious talk that they needed, right that minute. The H would say no and she would just be like "oh, ok", it didn't add any thing.
Over all could have been executed a lot better but the bare bones of the story held promise.

Wow! This story is articulately written. It is intense, alluring, passionate, unpredicable, extremely emotional, and
highly entertaining, this is one story I couldn't get enough of, I was mesmerized and totally emmersed page after page.
There are moments that are heartbreaking, thought provoking but it absolutely brilliant and delightful
memorable.
The narrator did a spectacular job with the story, I could tune into every single emotion of each character. An read exhilarating with the most beautiful ending.
This free audio copy is a gem, I'm glad I found this new author and it's my pleasure to read and review this book.

Ok this book is hot! Like hot hot!! It is of course a dark romance and it can get dark but let me tell you it’s so worth it!! Also the plot of this book outside of the spicy Parts was amazing! It really was like a roller coaster because things kept happening and then The Who done it kept happening and it really had me glued to my kindle until the end! Absolutely recommend! And one of the best parts is it’s a stand alone!! I love series don’t get me wrong but some times you need the complete story all in one and boy does this book deliver!!

Holy mother fudging fudgesticks!!! This book has done more than twist my melon!! Luther Knight.......just hold that name on your tongue for a few minutes! *bends at the knees to draw in much needed air!
This book gave me whiplash, so much is going on, double crossing, back stabbing and in amongst all that is the relationship between Luther and Lexi. It's hotter than the sun!! Honestly I was on the edge of my seat the when way through! Flipping brilliant!!

I want to write this review while still fresh in my mind. I loved all the characters in this book. I was able to develop then in my mind quickly, yet their roles kept evolving until the very end. This book is full of angst, suspense, action, hot BDSM sex and most of all love. I want to stay in their world and read more. Luther and Lexi are my new favorite couple. I would love to hear the story of Vee and Charlie from their POV.

Well holy mother of mercy! This is my first book from this author and it was one hell of a ride! Hot, steamy, mysterious and fast paced, this book is dark and not for the faint hearted!
I really enjoyed the style of writing, the storyline and the characters. I did wonder what I might have got myself in for in the beginning but as I sped through the pages I found the book impossible to put down! I’m very much looking forward to more books from J. M. Walker!

I’d have to say those is a favorite of mine in awhile! Absolutely enjoyed the story line and did not expect some of the things that came to light towards the end. Kept me on my toes and interested. Also very descriptive and would say it’s pretty fire for scene descriptions too ;) thank you! May have to read it again sometime since it only took me a day and a half and will look at some of your other books. Highly recommend!

This is an excellent and captivating steamy Dark Romance. Luther and Lexi's story is intricate and enthralling. Their chemistry is sizzling hot. Lexi's brother Charlie is enigmatic. The characters are great and complex. I liked the unpredictable twists and turns. The storyline is filled with danger, mystery, action, and suspense. Veronica Harder and Mark Harrietha did a great job with the narration. If you like Dark Romance, this one is for you! I HIGHLY recommend it.

This book needs warnings! There are some very specific things that could be triggering if you don’t understand them!
Lexi and Luther… what a odd coupling. Their story has twists and turns that you do not see coming.
At one point, I almost gave up on the book entirely but, I pushed on and I’m glad I did. The twists made it better but, they were also predictable— at least to me.
All in all, it was a good, hot, and steamy read.

The Devil You Know
Lexi is trying her hardest to make a go at running her family's deli. Her brother Charlie isn't being helpful. He dug them a hole it is going to take Lexi some serious digging to get out of without getting anyone killed. Luther is the devil the deal was made with. Little does she know how hard he is to resist. Loved this book!

I really liked the premise of this book. The first chapter had me totally sucked in. I was very into the story until the whole mystery with Charlie came about. It lost plausibility and was confusing as to the why and motivation behind the betrayal. However, a great ending.

Unexpected awesome story!
This is not your typical love story. It is a mystery who done it, with kink and danger. It will keep you on your toes and make you want to keep turning the pages! Loved this book! Is nice to read something different. Just when I think I got it figured out, nope plot twist.
