Drax Mitchell had been one of the rising stars in Delta Force, when a yearlong mission undercover behind enemy lines, cost him the friend he always swore to protect. Or so he thought. Recruited by his friend’s former Navy Seal commander, to Red Squadron, a JSOC Task Force. Drax and Roman are reunited to cause havoc all over the Middle East. After multiple deployments and dangerous missions, Drax is forced to take his accrued leave, he heads to the one place he has felt most at home. Zurich.
Noah Sinclair only wanted a quiet drink in his local bar. Overhearing a plot to kidnap the hot dude drinking in the corner, spurred him into action. That conversation in Pashto convinces him these people are looking for revenge. A closer look at their target and Noah knows he will leave no stone unturned to keep his man safe. Even if it means kidnapping him himself. After all life debts should always be paid in full… right?
Take a vacation they said… It will be fun… they said. Drax can tell you fun is NOT on the freaking agenda. Especially as he races through Europe with a damn terrorist on his heels. Can he survive the hunt, and save the most important prize of his life? Noah… the man who ties him up in knots and makes his heart beat just a little bit faster.
Annabella Stone and Bella Stone are the alter egos of a wife and mom, who was lucky enough to find happy ever after with her own personal hero.
Annabella loves to write Military Romance and Romantic Suspense where warriors love harder when bullets fly. She believes in love at first sight and wants everyone to have the happy ever they deserve. Even if they have to dodge bullets and fight with everything that they are to get it.
Born and raised in Ireland, Annabella has a Grá for a good story and the breakfast blaa, but funnily enough, prefers Jack Daniels to Irish whiskey. Having lived across 7 countries and 3 continents over the last thirty years, she loves to explore new places and cultures. In her world, coffee is king, and she is 100% sure it deserves it's own food group.
Annabella is owned by a pack of malamutes, whom she loves to both work and show. If you can't find her at the computer writing, chances are she and her woofers have escaped to enjoy at day at a dog show, or they are on a mountain trail with the dryland rig or the sled, depending on the time of year.
Annabella's motto is "Live life like a malamute who found the gate open, but take the time to enjoy the sights while you're running."
They tell you to relax and have a vacation - get away and enjoy yourself - boy did they lie!! When a group sees Drax in a bar relaxing and enjoying his whiskey he finds out from an unlikely source that they want him dead. When it all hits the fan, Drax ends up not only trying to stay alive but trying to keep Noah alive as well. But Noah has baggage from his recent past that only brings the men closer. Will the danger be too much for them to notice the feelings that are growing between them? Or will it all fall apart when secrets on both sides are revealed? From the opening pages the anxiety and angst in the story just grew and grew. I could not turn the pages fast enough and the ending could not have been written better. The series just keeps getting better and better.
Life never seems to settle down where Red Squadron is concerned. Once one fire is put out, another flame emerges and burns hotter and brighter than the last one. Red Squadron has fought many wars with many bad people, but when it comes to having to fight those that are supposed to be on your own team, well then that is when Red Squadron is going to come at you full blast and not back down until their families are safe.
Drax joined Red Squadron after his twin brother was killed in what was supposed to be an in and out mission. He has never been able to get over losing the one person who was the closest to him. With Red, Drax knows he will be able to get more answers to what actually happened and why his brother was taken from him. It has been five long years and the pain he feels today is as strong as it was the day he lost him. So going to a place that meant so much to both of them is bringing up a lot of memories for him.
What Drax never expected, though, on his mandatory vacation is to have trouble come looking for him. With that trouble comes an unexpected ally as well. Years ago Drax played a part in rescuing a man named Noah’s Mom. So hearing some men in the bar that he is in talk about capturing Drax, well he knows he is going to have to get involved and try to stop it from happening.
Drax never expected a stranger to approach him and tell him that a group of men are planning on capturing him and taking him hostage for information only him and his twin knew existed. At first he doesn’t know whether Noah is a good guy or a bad guy, but when everything starts to go down, he does not have time to question whether he is good or bad but instead he has to make a gut decision and decides to trust him.
Things escalate quickly and before Drax knows what is happening he and Noah are on the run chasing a ghost with Red Squadron right behind them. Not only that but as it turns out Noah has someone who is out to get him as well.
Will Red Squadron be able to help Drax and Noah uncover all the mysteries that seem to be floating around about Drax’s twin and the unexpected connections to Noah as well without anyone dying?
This was another great read by Annabella Stone. With each new book she puts out the more I am sucked into the lives of each of these men. I cannot wait for whatever she has coming out next. Incredible series!
NOTE: This book was provided by the author for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.
Drax was filled with excitement, suspense, intrigue and danger from cover to cover. It was also deeply emotional. You'll sit at the edge of your seat at times because the action is fast paced and hard hitting. Red Squadron is still trying to figure out who keeps coming after them even as they take on a highly personal mission. Rescuing a brother. Drax Mitchell and Noah Sinclair are an unlikely pair but the sparks fly between these two. Saving Drax's bacon, Noah leaves an indelible imprint on Drax's heart. Teaming up for a heart stopping mission solidifies the feelings both men have for one another.
This book has all the fast paced, "boom-boom", gun/hand fights, rescue, dry humor, chosen family, black ops bits I love! With just the smallest dash of bdsm I wish could have been explored more, but still it added a little flavor. The protector and hurt/comfort level in this books was at my fav threshold (bordering on unhealthy) and I love it! The only reason this book doesn't have a five star from me is because the flip flopping of pov from paragraph to paragraph (and sometimes in the middle of a paragraph I swear) drove me nuts! I had to go back and reread a paragraph so often- even after I got used to it, but totally worth it. :)
Special Ops mission, where it's difficult to tell the good guys vs. Evil ones! Edge of your seat!
Like military special ops fast paced where government has a lot of evil within its walls. Red Team is on special missions but the discoveries for Drax starts during his mandatory vacations! Noah a linguist & tech geek has to earn this man he is danger. The mission to survive starts now. Emotionally the hits keep coming. Mission a web of deceit. Hero's never stop! More reviews @my2centsbooklover Thank you!
It was a bit crazy how Drax and Noah meet but once the book started I settled in to follow these guys on more adventures with the guys from Red Squadron. I loved the military lingo, procedures, banter with all the secondary characters who we’ve mean previous books. As in all of this series there was a rescue mission and other twists and surprises which kept me turning the pages. Really enjoying this series. **the only negative would be the typos and mistakes through this book and the rest of the series. I think. The editing is a real let down.
The story was good and I like the characters but somehow that confident good man Noah who approached Drax to save him turned into a weak submissive even after his horrible ordeal. So but this dom/sub kinda situation should not be in the cards. I also noticed that the Author doesn't really address the emotional scenes but jumps through time and avoids them or skids over them and down playing them. We should go through these hard times and agonize with our main characters. We only see the guilt but that it.
The story line is engaging, the characters are all over the place, the narrative trying to say their professional but their actions are sloppy emotional and stupid. And what's the deal with the puppy breath thing!? Puppies breath smells of dog food which is nasty so why is it being used to signify something lovely and desirable? Nearly as distracting as hopping around different characters thoughts with no indication it's happening. Overall the story line is ok the execution is pants.
Action packed rollercoaster of tension and suspense from the start. Noah was awesome, stepping up for a complete stranger just because he recognised him from a photo, not even thinking about what he was getting involved with or the repercussions. Drax supposedly on vacation is caught up in something he has no clue about, but once clues start to be found it could be so worth it. Excellent plot, exciting layout and fast paced read, with fabulous characters and it's even a bit heartbreaking. Gripping.
Wow, the characters in this series keep getting better and better. Drax is a man dealing with mistakes made, missing his dead twin and finding his other half in a place he shouldn't be.
Noah is a sweet soul in the right place at the right time. Hearing a kidnapping plot and warning the man who will become his savior. These two go through heart aches and triumph to find there happy ever after.
I've really enjoyed Drax's story in fact I've loved them all so far. Now having met Rexar I want to know his story as well, as I'm new to this world of military men Annabella Stone have you already written Rexar's story and if not will he be getting one too? Well off to meet Roman and Luc and once I've said goodbye to these guys, I'm going back to meet the guys of Panther team. Summer reading all planned ❤️❤️
I love the family that Annabella has created with all her guys m
I loved Drax and Noah. I enjoyed the mission the guys go on to rescue and protect. The snark between them all is fantastic and I think what I loved most about this one is that the Red Squadron guys saw what Noah meant to Drax before he saw it and kept calling him out in it.
MM romances are generally not my thing, but I met Drax in his brother's book so I looked for it. So I cannot compare it to the genre in genaral, but it had characters, both primary and secondary, that I got invested in. An edge of the seat adventure and a satisfying end. I suspect I will be following the rest of the team as they find love
This series just keeps getting better! I love these guys! They’re a feisty, snarky, witty and passionate group of Brothers-In-Arms. Every book has its own individual story to tell, but has a connecting thread running through it. Bring on Roman ..... 😃📚❤️
This is the fourth title that I have fo is he’s in this series. I love they are all a slow burn of sorts. I also love they are all giant goof balls and idiots. I just have to say Elephant toothpaste....
Well that was an awesome ride. Loads of action as expected and a surprise romance for Drax and Noah. Lots of plot twists. Great read , looking forward to the next one.
As well written as all her books. Good storyline and pace of the story. Nice to see some of the characters of the books in this and the other series. Looking forward to the final book in this series.
Another breath taking rescue. More traveling threw other countries and a lot of L.O.V.E.! Noah and Drax have a load of ups and downs but they make do with what they have. Noah has a stalker on his heels and Drax is looking for something that he can only dream about.
I love these guys. I knew early in the book about the brother. It seemed a bit of an after thought about the stalker almost like oh I forgot to wrap that part up and let me throw this in at the end..
Tough, knife throwing specialist, lock picker, Vulcan riding Drax Mitchell shows us his soft side when he meets his match in analyst Noah Sinclair. I love how he brings him home to “meet the family” and how much red squadron goes to bat for there own! I can’t wait to see what’s next in this series!
Excellent book loved reading this third in series, full of suspense action intrigue and emotion. Again not for everyone but I recommend to anyone who loves these tough sexy guys. I do always enjoy these great books. Thanks
Drax is forced to take vacation R&R. He goes to Zurich to remember his lost twin, who was Kia 5 years before. But nothing is as it seems, and trouble funds him at every turn.
Noah tries to help out Drax, but gets caught up with all the conflict.
Can the two of them get along until they get safe? And what of the rumors the hear about an American being held in an Iranian prison.
This is an endless situation that is fraught with danger, uncertainty, excitement and love.
Loved this book 3rd in series Drax just love him there is action in this book, and there is also so lol moments some times laughed so much I had tears coming down face strongly recommend this book.
Wow, talk about making a book hard to put down! I couldn't stop reading it, not even for dinner. This Series so well written. Very believable! Even if its not!
The men are so hard core but melt when the right guy come along and boom. Their world as they know it exploded. Drax and Noah coming together was good.
Another great book by Annabella Stone. I loved Drax's and Noah's story. It was strong, emotional and the suspense... Worth reading! Can't wait to start the next book. This series is addictive!
