Life without Mitchel is hard, but a life with him would have been harder. We fell in love too young and we didn't know how to handle it and years later we're still paying for our mistakes. But now it's time to lay the past to rest and move on, even if it feels like it might kill me. I promised myself that I wouldn't think about him, I wouldn't give him the time of day, but years later, I'm still wishing we could rewind time and do it all over again. All the feelings, all the kisses, all the promises, all the little touches, the hugs, all the smiles, the laughs, all of it. Even if it all ended in tears again, I would do it all again. Because he was my everything, my raspberry, my forever, my soulmate, my other half, my crazy, my madness, and my sanity, it was all him. He was everything. And now he's gone.
Well it's finally ended. I've loved this story so much and each book just got better and better. The writing has been exceptional as has the story. The main characters are amazing. You feel all their emotions so much. All the other characters with their banter make it all the more enjoyable. They met at 18 and lots of things went good and bad but how did it end? Well I can't spoilt it for you just get reading. This has been a great pleasure to read and I know I will always remember this love story.
First off Blue Raspberry is a completed series and I read them back to back so my review is the same for all of them because it’s encompassing.
So this series starts off as a contemporary YA/NA romance and as the main characters get older some of the scenes get more explicit. There’s 13 books in the series that feature some raw situations and I found that with each book ending I was hooked and needed to get into the next. It is fortunate that each book isn’t particularly long but written well enough that I didn’t feel like something was missing. I will say up until the last two books you will see that there is a continual back and forth pattern.
Kelsey and Mitchel’s story is a roller coaster and for the most part I find their toxic relationship frustrating because it’s alway back and forward between them and so many others get involved; it’s a mess.
Overall as a series I would give it a 4 out of 5 ⭐️ rating. They each brought a lot of feeling to the surface, I have laughed, cried and been frustratingly annoyed with some of the characters and the only reason why it’s not a 5 for me is because some it was too repetitive the characters weaknesses were played on a bit heavy for example Colt was way too forgiving, Kelsey and Mitchel both had this need to hurt each other and play on each other’s insecurities and by the end of the series I was still left with questions: - what happen to Silas (I’m assuming he’s dead but could be wrong) he’s just gone ! - now I can read between the lines but I’m guessing it’s Paige and Boston right? What happens in their story? - JT and Nessie are a package deal too what made her decide to be with him; how did this happen
Otherwise I loved the series but would really like to read some spin offs about the other characters.
I’m so sad to see this series end! I think it ended perfectly. I’m gonna be so upset if Nessie and JT don’t end up together. But can’t wait for Nessie’s story.
