Building a World-Class Compliance Program contains some good information and many helpful resources for compliance professionals. However, the author repeats many of the same program components over and over. While tone at the top and a Code of Conduct are certainly important, there are others aspects, such as testing, monitoring and policy creation and maintenance, that are barely mentioned. I would recommend this as a helpful starting point for compliance professionals.

This is the best business ethics and compliance book I've come across so far! Biegelman provided case studies of the notorious corporate scandals of our time. This book is comprehesive, informative, and yet non-intimidating. (The benign author was caring enough to provide footnotes to decipher business jargons for readers like you and me.)

Here are a few acronyms that I found interesting from this book:
FCPA - Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
FSGO - Federal Sentencing Guidelines for Organizations
USA PATRIOT ACT - Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act

The proliferation of insight of this book is far too great to be contained in this review. One line, in particular, stands out on my mind. "Don't Lie, Don't Cheat, Don't Steal" - CA's code of conduct.

This book should be part of a college graduation prerequisite. It's worth the retail price of $45. Highly highly recommended!
