ANOTHER A++++++++++ STORY! 😁

This was such an entertaining and fun book to read! I loved it! I adored going back to visit Shadows Landing and getting reacquainted with all the family and townspeople! You just can't do better than a Kathleen Brooks' book.... I have them all and she somehow comes up with unique and fresh storylines each time that make you laugh, swoon, hold your breath as all the twists and turns unfold, and hate when the story is over!!! She is an expert at weaving so many components together... One minute you're worried, the next you're laughing, the next you're enjoying a sexy and heartwarming romance!!! Dare and Harper were perfect together. I really enjoyed how there was low angst and lots of cute banter and obvious attraction between them right from the get go!

The quirkiness of the other characters was as delightful as usual. They are all so interesting and I really enjoy reading about their closeness and affection for each other. I thought it was hilarious how all through the book
they were surprised by Harper's dating Dare and got a big kick out of all the running jokes and traditions... I laughed and smiled so many times. Thank you Kathleen for the epilogue it was perfect!

This is the best kind of book for right now when we are all going through something unprecedented and need a lift! I turned off all news about the pandemic and buried my nose in this wonderfully written book!!! Of course, I highly recommend it... It is a 10 star book all the way through! Give yourself a treat and read it. You will be so glad you did! 😇

I always look forward to new releases from Kathleen Brooks and Fierce Shadows did not disappoint. It’s like coming home from a long trip and seeing all your best friends again, seeing how big Lydia's kids are getting, knowing Fuzzy Butt Is still harassing Bubba, and going to a weaponry class to get back in shape. Best of all is watching another Faulkner find true love and seeing it grow through danger, laughter, tears, and “bless their hearts” until we’re all dancing in the streets! I love the tight writing, the great dialogue, the sarcasm, and the laughter! The references to characters from other series and hints about upcoming stories ensure that you keep reading the Facebook posts and the author’s Teaser Tuesday posts, marking your calendars with new release dates and preordering as soon as possible!. Kathleen Brooks has created a magical world from tiny towns in the south to royal kingdoms in the Middle East that we would all like to visit. I know I’m planning to retire in Keeneston! You just can’t get good sweet tea in New England!

Fierce Shadows is the fourth book in the Shadows Landing series by Kathleen Brooks. Shadows Landing Series combines small-town charm, suspense, and a dash of romance.
This is a contemporary romance series with a small-town setting, some romantic suspense elements, a little drama, intrigue, tension, mystery, humour, and adventure.
After reading Ms. Brooks ‘Bluegrass’ series, and not being as ‘blown away’ by them as I had expected and hoped, I wasn’t sure if I would take the plunge into this series or not. But as they were sitting on my TBR already, and also wanting to clear my TBR list, I decide to just dive in and get them done. I have to admit that, thankfully, I did ‘enjoy’ this series a bit more than the Bluegrass books.

I have wanted Harper's story since I was introduced to Shadow's landing! I was not disappointed!! Harper is a bad-ass who has a heart of stead because of a past relationship. The last thing Harper wanted was a blind date set up by her Aunt Marcy. Dare was an ATF agent who was training in the new facility in Keeneston. He fell in love with Aunt Marcy and her apple pie! Aunt Marcy originally wanted Dare to stay in Keeneston but no one was ready for him so she immediately thought about Harper. Dare like Harper did not want to go on a blind date but couldn't say no to Aunt Marcy! After some initial excitement they finally officially meet. There is an instant attraction. As in true author fashion there is intrigue which draws the town together to protect one of their own. Will Harper be able to get out of her own head about her feelings for Dare? Will Dare be able to share control with Harper and grow together. Once again, you will not be disappointed in this authors writing.

These books are very formula with crazy small town and a romance. This one is about Dare the ATF agent who has finished his course at the Kentucky facility run by the Davies brothers. Marcie Davies con's him into a blind date with her grand-niece Harper who owns the local bar. The date is crazy with them saving 2 girls from drowning but they still hit it off.

Harper ends up helping him getting a "in" with the management when she orders some liquor from their distributor as she is a bar owner. The case involves assaults, murder and druggings at a resort island.

Harper is attacked in the churchyard and wakes up dumped in the swamp area with a gator watching her. She manages to hold on till she is rescued. Dare is getting close to finding out who is behind the liquor poisonings at the resort while avoiding the predatory attentions of the female resort manager who is the daughter of a drug lord.

Predictable but well narrated and light mystery/suspense with humor.

Blind date gone right...

How wonderful it could be that a blind date turn into a happily ever after! Well, the wait for finding a story that does just that is here. Kathleen Brooks has a way to spin a tale that has the reader yearn for more. Especially, with a quirky small town and all the characters it holds like Shadows Landing. This is a series of standalone stories that offer humor, heart, a little mystery, strong family ties and a happily ever after.

Trust me you can't go wrong with any books from Kathleen Brooks. her Bluegrass series, women of power, forever bluegrass and shadows landing are just a sampling to the great reads you will find from this author. If I could give more than 5stars... I would. Highly recommended.

Fierce Shadows- Shadows Landing #4

This was an excellent addition to the Shadows Landing series with Harper, who owns the town's only bar go on a blind date set up by her aunt with an ATF agent Dare Reigns. Neither of them wanted to go on this date but they did not want to disappoint Aunt Marcy. Their date turned into an adventure with them diving into the resort hotel pool to save two girls that were drowning. They turned out to have been drugged and Dare was assigned to go undercover to solve this case. Harper volunteers to be his alibi as his date to help with his undercover case. This was an amazing story as these two take down the bad guys and put down a drug cartel at the same time. These two Dare and Harper also manage to fall in love as well. This was an action packed thrilling story and I cannot wait to read the next release.

Matchmaking at its best

Gotta love Miss Marcy and her matchmaking abilities! Waiting on my next visit to either Keeneston or Shadow's Landing is purentorture! It's always a blast to see what the pirate ghosts are up to and to find out who will be the next to fall! I always knew it was going to take a strong person to break through to Harper's heart and Dare is definitely the person to do it! This coulle perfectly complement each other and it will be so much fun to see what comes next for this amazing couple!

Harper has a husband. Dare was the perfect match for Harper. Dare went to training for special ops in Keeneston, where he met the entire Davies family. The matriarch of the family Harpers great aunt Marcy loves to meddle in the kids lives. Sent Dare and Harper on a blind date. 😂😂 Neither wanted to go. So they meet under some literally life saving incident. Dare worked for FBI under cover. Harper well, just likes helping people anyway she can. Anyway she get mixed up in his case, the is ghost, shootings, drugs illegal alcohol and tons of excitement. Typical KB style. Enjoy

Very well done

Yes, I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. This book was filled with characters that are known and loved throughout the other Shadows Landing books and the books about Keeneston KY. I always love visiting old friends like these characters have become. And we meet new characters and get to know a few much better. Fierce Shadows has intrigue, humor, suspense, and romance - but not the cheesy romance, the lifetime love kind.

Gators, ghosts and the ATF

I love this series! These characters are fun, sexy, tender, tough and unforgettable! With each book I feel like I'm part of the Shadows Landing family, enjoying the town and the togetherness. If you look for great writing that weaves a fascinating story, characters that you become attached to and exciting adventures you'll love Shadows Landing. I hope to work my way through all of the Kentucky family, also!

Loved it, of course

Kathleen has weaved another great tale, full of pirates, ghosts, crime, alcohol, lust, danger and finally..love.

Harper and Dare are a great couple..he helped her through her insecurities and she is definitely the partner he needed. She's happy, fun, smart, and has sucked fighting skills. He couldn't do better if he tried.

It's always great to take a trip back to Shadowlands..

Another Shadows Landing winner!

Thoroughly enjoyed Dare and Harper's story, and catching up with the crew in town. Great Aunt Marcy strikes again setting up the two on a blind date which doesn't quite go to plan but the chemistry is off the charts. In true Shadows Landing style, ghosts and gaitors make an appearance along with the ladies of the knitting circle none of which are to be messed with!!! A must read

I always enjoy Eric G. Dove's narration. I liked Dare and Harper's banter. Although Harper seemed to rush headlong into situations without much thought to the consequences sometimes, I liked her character. She seemed to always have just enough time to call in the reinforcements.

Shadows Landing is always a good time. From the church ladies, Gator, Skeeter, Turtle, Granger, all of the Faulkner's, etc., it is fun and quirky. Toss in a bit of suspense and mystery, and I am all set.

I am loving this series Harper jumped off the page from the very first and I couldn't wait to read her story. Dare was more than a match and I loved their banter and partnership. Gator, Turtle and Skeeter kept the laughs going. Even though the underlying story of abuse and mysterious deaths the family and town come together to take on the challenge. Love this author!

This is one author I have to 1 click! The characters pull you in and the stories are full of romance and action. Some humor and spice and small towns I have fallen in love with. Harper was a great character and was so strong. Dare was also great! Lots of suspense and characters from previous books. Loved it!

A fantastic new addition!!!

I really fell in love with Dare, he's a tough guy with a lot of love to give. Harper is sassy and strong willed, together they are the perfect team. I loved the ghost stories and the while town. The book flowed at a fast paced and before I knew it , it was finished. I can't wait for the next one.

Harper is a strong woman but has been hurt in her past. She went on the blind date her Great Aunt Marcy set up because she loved the woman. But from the time she meet Dare she knew he was the one... if what she feeling is love. An adventure will bring you together or pull you a part. With social media and the town helping nothing can stop the adventure or their love. Great story.

But,so glad for Harper's story, and Aunt Marcy picked Dare who was absolutely perfect.
The usual, hysterical, suspenseful, chaotic romantic novel from Shadow's Landing, or Keenston!

So allow a little more redundancy...

Great characters continue

Harper puts on a super tough exterior and she has her reason. Dare is working on an ATF case. Dare meets Harper and everything changes for him. Dare can't stop thinking about Harper. It doesn't take too long before Harper and Dare realize their falling in love. However there's a team of horrible people out to harm them.

Fierce Shadows

Loved it! Harper is a women with a deep hurt. Dare is a man on a mission. When they meet the sparks fly and the bad guys never know what hit them! Totally in love with these stories. I cannot wait for the next book!
