One of the best books I've read on EMP's and I've read ages.I love James hunts m writing s .he! Makes the story fell like your there

Because he is one of the top 5 in the EMP series. When I finish one book I can't wait to read bent book. When I run out and star looking for another adroit takes me as long to find another serious. I hate to have to wait months to finish a series. I lose track of what I'm reading .I'm waiting non 2books to finish 2,series. But I'm patient.I have to stay in the bed slot ,because of the covid I haven't had my Christmas yet. We've had 2people in my family that has had it and they haven't been released as of to date. So if I have to date tell Valentine I will, lol but I will.have it. My mind is blank so I can't name other authors.

Another amazing story!

One of those books that make you stay up til the wee hours of morning as you know you have to finish it, if nothing else but to see who lives through the disaster! Well written!

There are too many glaring mistakes in the beginning of this book for me to take it seriously. The N Train does not go as far as Laqardea airport. It ends at Dismas Ave in Astoria. No one has ever called it the Metro, we will say the train, the Subway, the El (Short for Elevated line), but no one, and I mean NO ONE from NY, has ever or ever will call it the Metro. They are subway workers, Mass transit workers, but no one will or has ever called them Metro Workers. The largest issue for me, though, is that the record snowfall in one storm was set back in 1966 with 50 inches of snow, just about four feet of snow, and the accumulated snowfall was in the '90s at just about 70 inches, just under six foot. Never has NY had a snow forecast of 10 foot, let alone received that much snow at one time. There have been snowdrifts of around 10 foot tall, but NEVER a snowfall that high.

On the other hand, the book is full of action, endearing characters, and minus the fact that the Author knows NOTHING about NY, it was interesting.

I did like the story - yes you have to go with some of the plot points but you do that with any book and especially of this genre. I did want to shake Kate at times, when she keeps talking about her family and then does exactly the opposite. Interesting addition of terrorists on the ground as well.

The narration took me a bit to get used to but I think that is because I am so used to two other narrators reading this author's work.

Kept me entertained for a few hours and I liked the way that the books were all together.

Cant find this boxset on goodreads so on individually for record

Suddenly, the rule of law was total violence ...

Imagine in the blink of an eye, the entire world reverted to rule by the faster trigger finger. No electricity, food, water, heat, functioning police, hospitals, communications systems, nothing but what you could do with your hands and your brain power. Imagine also, a heavy winter storm complicating everything even more. Would you be able to survive?
A good book for making you think of what you need to do to be prepared should an EMP ever hit our world.

Intriguing and Frightening

This is the only book in this series that I have read. We don't like to think of the possibility of an attack with An EMP. The storyline kept my attention and covered a lot of points about what happens when people are scared and panicked. It also makes you look at yourself and how would you act and be prepared to deal with such an impossible situation. A very good read.

Wow!

This was one check if a read! A tight, well plotted storyline with intriguing, and very real feeling characters. Kate, a wife, mother, and pilot sees everything falling apart and knows she has to get her family out. She is a very compelling character. Rodney is prepared and knows what steps to take. Together, they are the focus of the story. I had to read this is one sitting! Really well written!

A Great Action Packed Story

If you are into EMP and/or apocalyptic novels, this story is a great one. There are a few editing mistakes, and pronoun errors sometimes get you confused as to which character is talking or moving, but keep reading past that and it works itself out. I not only loved the characters, but also the internal thoughts and lessons learned. I would have liked more details on the prepping, though.

For me this is Post Apocalyptic perfection. A good story has to boil down to realism. If sometime lacks authenticity to the situation it greatly reduces my enjoyment. A brutal story, with incredible characters, and absolutely believable dialogue. Another story that strengthens my belief that James Hunt is royalty in this genre.

Kate

To survive or not to survive this is the decision everyone was faced with on the day of the day the EMP hit the USA. No one was prepared for this, so who will survive. You will have to read the thrilling series.

I really liked this story. The 3 main people were strong, each with different strengths. They learned to work together quickly to get to safety and protect each other.
Of the 5 stories I have read so far this story best illustrates the way to prepare and stay alive.

Very entertaining

The strong lead in this novel is Kate, a mother, a wife and an amazing ability to lead the group of survivors. Rodney, her neighbor, has worked hard to prepare for an apocalypse if it happens and they team up and together they what needs doing.

Great Read

I could hardly put this book down. James Hunt tells a great story. It’s exciting and complete in only one book without being a series Even so, he does not cut the excitement. A must read for lovers of the apocalyptic fiction.

Good but a lot of inaccuracies

Suggest you have someone familiar with firearms and aircraft read the draft before it's published. Also, I would have left the female heroine and her husband at the apartment. Too arrogant and stupid

Surviving the Collapse (EMP Survival in a Powerless World Book 4)

Pen in hand, James Hunt assembled a book worth reading, meant for mature readers! It kept attention to the very end!

Surviving the Collapse, Book 1
Sort of slow-paced, not as fun as other Wise EMP books I’ve read, but okay.

*Weird sound quality for the audio, which was extra noticeable after the previous read sounded better.

Survival of the Steadfast

Revenge and greed are no match for the dedicated love and protective heart of a parent and true friend. Leaders lead, good or bad. Choose wisely.
