I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy of this book.
I highly recommend this book! Wow, this book ticks off all the boxes that us paranormal romance readers love! The humor is outstanding, it really balanced the story out. The flow is smooth and fast, the world building is good, the story pulls you in right from the start. This is a “can’t put it down” type of book. The main characters (Romy & Kash) are great, they feel like real people, not made up characters in a book (except for the werewolf part LOL). I liked that their relationship develops & has all the “feels” with it. Kash definitely makes good book boyfriend material. I liked the close friendship between Romy, Anna & Talia. I even liked Lynch. They made great secondary characters that help the story be deeper & richer somehow. They are strong secondary characters that could even support their own story down the road, and I would totally read their stories. I anxiously look forward to book 2!

It is an enjoyable read that ends in a cliffhanger.
Now, the plot centres at first around Romy and her project for graduation pass. Silently, the plot twists to expand to women going missing from campus.
Romy and her friends are strong, sassy, and fierce women. Who look after each other and protect theirs.
But they are young, and the loss Romy recently may play a part in how selfish she sometimes act. She's not major selfish but trying enough for moments to get away from her and for her to realise she's stepped out and needs to reexamine her next moves.
During it all her she falls into the supernatural world, meets Kash, and plays a messed up frustration for them, a game of mouse and cat. It's all part of the building of their relationship together.
It is an easy read, I wasn't surprised at the twists and expect I know what happens in the next book.
The spice is average, it's hot, but not steamy hot. Well, the making out reads hotter than the sex.
Overall, it's a good, easy read

Where do I start with my review of this fantastic story? To sum up the words on how this story made me feel is excruciatingly difficult. What a way to go out of 2019 but with a bang for my last read of the year! Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd knocked it out of the park with this story! These two are a dang dynamic knockout of a duo! The way they incorporated both their personalities and writing styles were flawlessly amazing.
These characters Romy and Kash, this couple GAH!!! I just couldn't get enough of them!
And don't get me started on Romy and her best gal pals. Those 3 together are literally the best friends you wish to have in real life. I envied their friendship.
This story packed it all. Suspense. Heat. Holy hotness. And the LAUGH OUT LOUD moments! This story had it ALL!

Cruel! That word totally conveys my feelings for that ending!! I'm feeling bitter and wondering how these ladies could end book one this way! I'm wholeheartedly invested in these characters!!! Kash in the ultimate book boyfriend that you both want to lick and hit upside his gorgeous head of hair. I want to see him go all alpha in the begging of the next book! Romy is the girl that we all can't help but girl crush on. She's nerdy and makes zero apologies for it. I could seriously see hanging out with her. Romy's girl friends are very entertaining and I'm fairly certain that one of them is keeping a huge secret!!! This is both hilarious and enthralling. What an incredible writing duo that Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd have made together. You won't want to put this down, it's just that good!!!

Bam and Heather wrote a fabulous book.. it has everything, the humor, snarkiness, fun, twists.. I feel like I have new friends just reading it... Romys humor and snarky comments had me laughing and Kash, what else can I say about him, he’s Kash the hotter than Hot guy... it’s a fun ride reading this book, it’s a page turner that will have you binge reading it...

Reading this book was like hanging out with your best friend and having her tell you a crazy story that starts off with "well what had happened". I mean we all have that one friend who all the crazy and weird things seem to only happened to them; well Romy is that friend. She is cray-cray in the best of ways; she's a sassy, sweet, sexy, and hilarious book nerd. Basically the type of chick I would totes hang out with.
Oh and lets not forget about Kash, the object of my current book boyfriend obsession, and his sexy alpha werewolf goodness. Kash is HAF, funny, protective, and has all the best qualities of the perfect man. These two characters are everything right about books. As a whole this book has suspense, mystery, laugh out loud moments, and of course steamy hot sexy moments. Oh and not to mention stellar supporting characters as well.
Forget about Batman and Robin, Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd are the new dynamic duo; Hildenbrand + Shepherd = Dynamite. I cannot wait to read book 2 in this series.

Funny, Sexy, Mysterious...
I couldn't put this book down. I started reading & then all of a sudden I was at 90%! This book is funny, steamy, & entertaining.
The men are hot & the women are bad ass! I very quickly fell in love with all of the characters, but I think Talia is my spirit animal!
The ending will definitely leave you NEEDING more.

So I was warned before I started reading this.... but that didn't prepare me at all. Nope, not one little bit. I should have taken the warning more to heart, really I should have. But enough about me and my stomped on feelings....
This book is just freaking awesome and amazing. I felt like I was one of Romy's roommates and was sitting there drinking a Midnight Kisses with them. And Kash? OMG, he is just drool worthy and if I lick him can I keep him? Ok, back to the book.... seriously if you start reading this, don't plan on getting anything else done until you get to the last page because you will not be able to stop. It has everything you need in it. I really need more like right now

Brilliant!!
This book was hard to put down!! The character feel real and I felt I was able to relate to them. The storyline is exciting and keeps you in suspense along with fun and friendship. Remy and Kash are great characters and have you laughing out loud at times with their banter and their relationship is believable and hot. I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes next as the ending has left me needing more with its cliffhanger!!

Yes, it was cute. Yes, I enjoyed the read. Yes, I skipped through almost every dialog including Anna because her “southern” accent was painful to read. Yes, I will most likely do the same for the next book.

Romy is a bookworm and a big one with a rather cute bookish social media name - Romy Reads Romance, plus she’s the girl that many book lovers would be able to relate to (especially since some of the books mentioned that she reads, are some I’ve personally lived). Romy’s a lover of paranormal romance and a night out with her friends - Talia and Anna will hook you into the story. I think their carefree attitudes and fun vibes added to this.
This story is intriguing, fun and easy to read with a few cliche moments. Plus I liked that the idea of the title was quickly addressed. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and can’t wait to read more in the Of Fates and Fables series.

This book blew me away! This is by FAR the best boyfriend-book book (tongue twister lol)! From paranormal action to Hot As Sin romance. Yip, an excellent read.
Imagine learning what you thought to be myth (well actually really wished could be true in a “hopelessly romantic way”) is actually the truth? Freak out? Jump up and embrace the truth? Romy is somewhere in between. Who wouldn’t want a book-boyfriend to be real? But then again, that could have dire consequences, couldn’t it?

I’m sorry but it’s a No from me. 2.5, but I’m rounding up.
I wanted to love it, it was recommended plenty to me so I really should’ve…but alas, I did not.
She was a selfish as heck influencer - wanting to expose a species that is happily hidden from human eyes, just to get more followers. She also acts absolutely horror-movie-female-lead-stupid for no reason at all. And she has the whole fanfic-like “bookish person” thing going on.
Kash was pretty cool actually, if a bit flat.
Unfortunately I still have no idea why they are together - except for the fact that they are fated mates and have great sex.
I found little to no visible plot but the book does end in a - pretty expected - cliffhanger.
Didn’t hate it, it was a quick read but I don’t think I’ll read book 2.

Sassy and the alpha.
Oh snap, that was good!! I think I was hooked from the first word. I love Pepper's sassy self and her alpha. In fact I love them all! Her besties rock! A little bit of romance, a little bit of......(yes, you know that which I speak of), mystery and intrigue. Awesome read! The ending just about gave me a heart attack, because I thought I broke my kindle, because I kinda threw it down, because that cliffhanger..., because I was like NO!!!, because it's a long time until Feb 18. (drops karaoke mic)

Loved this book!
This book made me laugh out loud several times! I really enjoyed Romy's character. I felt like I could relate to her and I felt like the romance between her and Kash was perfect. It wasnt rushed or pushed on the readers. I also loved the friendship she has with her girlfriends. I have a few that I'm really close with and it made me think of them and really added another dimension to the story. Cant wait for the next one!!

I love a strong heroine and this is what we have in Romy. The story was full of humor, some of it tongue-in-cheek and some of it not so much. The mystery Romy tries to crack gets her deeply into trouble before she finds something she didn't realize she wanted. There are still bad guys to catch and supernatural beings to find as she trips her way through her tale. Not everything is as it seems, and that cliffhanger leaves us in a chokehold as we wait for the next installment in the series.
It's exciting and kept me interested. I wanted to be one of the college girls hanging with this group so I could be a part of everything they are. It was fun and scary and witty, and I didn't know which direction it would turn next. HH is a brilliant author in her own right but when joined by Bam, they produced a paragon of perfection. It was one thrilling moment after another along with all of the college hijinx and a mystery in the making. And it left me starving for more.

A hilariously, over-the-top read with a deliciously sexy streak! I thoroughly enjoyed the abs, sass, and creativity that went into this story. As a book lover and IG’er, I easily related with Romy and her shenanigans. The female friendships set the standard and I loved seeing their love and support for each other. The book itself was made for quoting and kept me laughing at all the snark and throwbacks. Kash’s mix of gruff exterior and crafty playfulness had me melting faster than a popsicle in the summer heat. By the end, I was hooked and trying to sleuth everything out before the mother of all cliffhangers (which I love and was expertly done)! A great read if you’re looking for light-hearted and funny vibes but don’t want to skimp on romance or sexy alphas.

Both ladies did an amazing job and justice to all the characters. All of the characters are well developed and you are getting attached to them straight away. Even the ones that are not the main ones!

Romy discovers that reality and fiction aren’t so different in this fast paced, funny and intriguing story; werewolves maybe real but the rest of the world doesn’t believe her as she seeks to prove them wrong she quickly finds herself thrown into an unexpected world full of danger. I binge read this book in one sitting - it was so good I just forgot about adulting for a few hours and enjoyed the story, cannot wait for book two! 5 stars!

This is soooo good! omg i loved it!! It has a little bit of everything: Action , romance, sarcasm, mystery, and Bestfriends rock! Also, cupcakes anyone? 😂 Romy is on a hunch about werewolves and she wont rest till she finds the truth! But when she meets sexy Kash... proving it might be harder than she thought. especially when he is always one step ahead of her! This is soooo good! omg i loved it!! It has a little bit of everything: Action , romance, sarcasm, mystery, and Bestfriends rock! Also, cupcakes anyone? 😂 Romy is on a hunch about werewolves and she wont rest till she finds the truth! But when she meets sexy Kash... proving it might be harder than she thought. especially when he is always one step ahead of her! This story will keep you laughing and hooked every step of the way ❤️ Must read!

Just as the title suggests, this debut series by Bam Shepherd and Heather Hildenbrand is going to be a classic fable remembered by all but more fun. The characters and the progression through the story are entertaining, suspenseful, and sexy! This is such a spoiler type of book, so I can't say more than the blurb already gives you, but know this... Do not miss out on this series!!!

Hilarious and essential for any reader who loves a good laugh
One of the best books I have read and it made 2020 start off great for me. Romy is a cute girl who loves to blog until she drinks to much and then says to much. Her adventure to prove her drunken mishap turned worse when she realizes she actually has a werewolf on her case. I love the humor and of course the romantic aspect of this book and I'm excited to see what is in store for Romy in the next one.
