5 Sterne | Pluspunkte: Nostalgie; Zusätzliche Informationen | Minuspunkte: Maximal, dass noch einige Charaktere fehlen. :)
“Disney: Who's Who – Das A bis Z der Disney-Figuren” beinhaltet über 600 Figuren aus dem Disney-Universum. Von Klassikern wie Schneewittchen bis hin zu den aktuelleren Werken wie Zoomania und Vaiana findet hier drin fast jedes Werk einen Platz. Die verschiedenen Figuren werden mit Abbildungen und kurzer Biografie vorgestellt, was nicht nur neue Details, sondern auch allerhand Nostalgie zu Tage fördert! Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, wie viel Arbeit in dieses Buch geflossen ist, bei den vielen Informationen, die zwischen diesen Seiten stecken.
Natürlich ist dieses umfangreiche Lexikon nicht wirklich dazu gedacht, an einem Stück gelesen zu werden, aber für mich war es ein unheimlich schönes Gefühl, die letzten Tage immer mit ein paar Seiten daraus zu beenden. Und ich kann euch verraten: Ich hatte selten so viel Lust darauf, Disney-Filme zu schauen, wie seit dem Beginn dieses Buchs! Gerade weil es eben nicht nur die aktuellsten Titel aufführt, sondern auch ältere und teilweise weniger bekannte Filme beinhaltet, hat es mich zusätzlich inspiriert. Hier und da war ich wirklich überrascht, dass ich einen Film schon halb vergessen oder zuletzt vor Ewigkeiten gesehn habe, was natürlich in der nächsten Zeit dringend geändert werden muss! Und sollte ich irgendwann mal nicht wissen, welchen Disney-Film ich sehen möchte, wird mir dieses Buch bestimmt ebenfalls mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen. :)
Ich glaube, für jeden Disney-Fan, ob groß oder klein, ist dieses Buch ein wahres Muss und gegebenenfalls auch ein super Geschenk. Für mich war einzig und allein nicht gänzlich nachvollziehbar, warum welche Filme weggelassen oder erwähnt wurden, aber das wird bestimmt jeweils seine Gründe gehabt haben – mal ganz abgesehen davon, dass ein Lexikon mit ALLEN Disney-Werken vermutlich kaum mehr tragbar gewesen wäre.

I love anything about Disney!!! It was great to read about all of the characters...and I did a challenge with my students...and it’s great to see what knowledge they know about the characters. Greatbook!!!

I loved this book! From Snow White to Coco, this book introduces you to the many characters from Walt Disney's animated films. It does contain spoilers, so read with caution the movies you haven't seen yet.

This book is the perfect addition to any Disney lover's bookshelf! It includes characters from a large range of Disney's film catalogue, from old classics like Snow White and Pinocchio right up to Frozen and Zootopia. It also includes Pixar favourites, but does not include Star Wars/Indiana Jones. What I loved the most about this book was how its main focus was not squarely on the modern favourites, but gave some of the older, more overlooked films a chance to shine.
Each page has one or two characters, with a concise summary alongside an illustration and peppered with many interesting new facts. The level of research that's gone into this book is very clear, and it offers more than many "Disney trivia" style books. The book is suitable for all ages, and would appeal to both casual and hardcore Disney fans (and everyone in between). The book is presented in a simple, easy to read style that can easily be picked up and put down whenever needed. It's a comprehensive character encyclopaedia spanning characters from 1937 right up to 2017.
The only thing I found slightly jarring was how some sequels were included (eg. The Rescuers Down Under) and some equally popular/well known sequels were not (eg. Return to Never Land, Simba's Pride). In addition to this, some popular original films (eg. Tarzan) were left out completely! I understand that it would be hard to include the main characters from every single film produced by Disney without having a much larger book, but it was a little confusing to work out why some films were included when others equally (or more) popular were left out. It didn't ruin the book for me at all, but I can see why people would be annoyed if their favourite characters were left out when comparably less popular characters/films were included. For this reason, I would recommend that anyone considering buying this book who really wants a certain film(s) to be included should check the contents page prior to purchase, to avoid disappointment.
Overall, it is a very well-researched, beautifully presented character compendium which I would thoroughly recommend to all Disney fans.

Bist du ein Disney-Experte …
Ich würde behaupten ja, aber das neue umfangreiche Lexikon der Disney Figuren von A-Z hat mich eines besseren belehrt.
Hier findet der Disney Fan alles von Cruella de Vils Listenrang unter den Bösewichten, wie auch Elsas umfangreiche Haarpracht oder Minnies vollständigen Namen.
Aber auch Zusatzinfos zu den einzelnen Charakteren.
Ein Kompendium des Wissens erwartet einen hier mit zahlreichen Facts zu den Disney-Lieblingen.
Meine Meinung
Ein Muss für Disney Fans, da war ich sofort Feuer und Flamme wie ihr euch vielleicht vorstellen könnt.
Meine Anfänge fanden da schon im frühesten Kindheitsalter statt und ich liebe Disney-Storys.
Sei es Bambi, wobei mir da immer noch die Tiere mega leid tun.
Cinderella, wie sie den Prinzen findet oder Schneewitchen mit dem Apfel.
Ja, das sind Storys die mich auch bis heute noch begleiten.
Ein Disney Fan durch und durch, allerdings wird man hier mit interessanten Facts informiert.
Und jahaaa … ich war neugierig was diese Infos so alles beinhalten und bin begeistert.
Zum Beispiel dachte ich Cruella müsste relativ vorne an der Spitze der Bösewichte stehen, falsch gedacht, sie ist bei den American Film Industries auf Platz 39. Das war wirklich verwunderlich.
Oder, dass der Hutmacher mit der Nummer auf seinem Hut, vielleicht erinnert sich der ein oder andere, das er eine Karte anstecken hat mit der Zahl 10/6 die nichts anderes als den Preis des Hutes anzeigt.
Sehr cool.
Dann meine Altbekannten, sei es Alladin und der fliegende Teppich der mich mehr als einmal mit seinen genialen Ideen sich verständlich zu machen zum lachen brachte, oder Elsa, die ich klasse finde.
Hier sind soviele tolle Charaktere vertreten, das mir sogar ein paar neue auffielen, die ich vorher nur als Randfiguren bemerkt habe oder gar nicht, die mir aber einen tollen Eindruck von Disney gaben.
Ich finde es ein tolles Nachschlagewerk und für mich absolut gelungen.

…kreativ, voller wunderschöner Illustration & mit dem Touch Magie…
Ein wundervolles Buch, was für jeden Disney Fan eine Bereicherung ist, nicht nur dass man alles über die geliebten Charaktere erfährt, man bekommt eine Vielzahl geboten, mit der man nicht gerechnet hat.
Besonders bekommen auch die Feinde, endlich genügend Aufmerksamkeit.
Ein muss für jeden Disney Fan, ein Nachschlagewerk über 600 Biografien der Disney Helden, bereichert mit Anekdoten, sowie witzigen und kreativen Details der beliebtesten Filme, wie Frozen oder auch lustiger Fakten.
Herausstechend auch das „schon gewusst“ dass jedem Fan noch weitere Fakten bietet, in dem man hinter die Kulissen Einblick zu bekommen.
Ich bleibe daher begeistert und entzückt über das Buch und die erstaunliche Biografien zurück.
Außerdem kann man durch die wundervoll und kreativen Illustrationen vollkommen im Buch versinken, diese sind herrlich gestaltete und steigern diese wundervolle Ausgabe.

This book is about the Disney characters and their personality traits. It is full of interesting facts about the movie. Each page has a picture of the character and a paragraph long character analysis.
I liked this book because the facts were interesting and it had a lot of movies-including the new movie Coco, so it wasn’t a small collection (Even though it is missing Tarzan). This is definitely for Disney lovers, not necessarily every library needs this unless you have a lot of Disney fans.

My children are flat-out obsessed. They are 9 & 11 and read this like it's a key resource for their dissertation. They are plotting movie nights with this book on hand as a reference guide, there may have been more than a few fights over whose turn it was to swoon over this book. Thanks for sending a copy our way for review, Disney. Friends? If you don't have one, BUY IT.

Great book to use as an autograph book for Disney Characters. We poured over it while on the plane, in lines and waiting at restaurants. Even a lot of the more obscure movies and characters are included.

I was genuinely surprised by the details in this reference book, they even included the lesser known Disney characters from The Black Cauldron! But I did find there to be a bit too much information (such as including the side characters who were in Frozen 2 for like 2 minutes and no one will ever remember their names).

Ein Must-Have für jeden Disney-Fan 🙂 In diesem Buch erfährt man Sachen über die Disney-Figuren, die man so in den Filmen nicht mitbekommt. Für jeden Geschmack ist was dabei. Hilft auch gut für die Kinder, wenn sie die Filme besser verstehen wollen. Ganz klare Weiterempfehlung meinerseits 🙂

Loved the book and thought it was super cool, but for movies I haven’t watched, it applied it too much. I understand that I should expect some spoilers but not the full description of the characters life and all all of the events that take place.

This is after all an encyclopedia of sorts not really something you can sit and read cover to cover though I did try to. It's a great guide with pictures and trivia
