Tempest is about to solve a decade-old mystery. Will she like the answer to this particular puzzle?
Tempest Crypt is focused on one thing: find her missing dad and bring him home. When her trip to Puzzlewood is interrupted by a demand from the angels that she investigates a demon slaying in the area, she resists. No way is she helping out those bumbling, feathery idiots again.
Her family is the most important thing to her. Nothing will get in the way of her achieving her desire to get her dad back to Willow Tree Falls. There’s been an ache in her heart ever since he left, and it’s time that changed. She wants him home, eating dinner around the table, making up for lost time, and helping her figure out why he vanished all those years ago.
Then she meets her dad, and he’s... different. And not in a good way. Nope, he’s rude, aggressive, and even has a new name. Worst of all, he doesn’t have a clue who she is. And when Tempest learns he knows the demon accused of murder, and is claiming to be his alibi, she has no choice but to investigate. If she doesn’t, she could lose him for good. And that’s never going to happen. Not for all the triple chocolate brownies in the magical world.
Join Tempest as she ventures out of Willow Tree Falls, accompanied by a mildly psychotic giant fairy, to find her dad. Enter the fun, cozy world of Puzzlewood, and meet a host of quirky magic-wielding characters in this paranormal mystery series, where nothing is quite what it seems.

She can imagine dragons, taste cookies when they aren’t even there, and hear the crack of a witch’s broom at a hundred paces.
K.E. (the K stands for Karen) lives in the United Kingdom (it isn’t very united, but that’s a mystery for another time) among the mystical stones and fairy creatures of Somerset. She graduated from the Universities of Southampton and Reading, where she received degrees in Archaeology and Cognitive Evolution (both highly entertaining to take part in, but with the career options of a ground witch’s toe bone.)

This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining end times slightly darker storyline. The crypt family is a family which is that live in a small supernatural town protected by a magic barrier to keep non-supernaturals out. Rip family is a family which is that guard the demon prison which resides under the towns local cemetery. The police force is the price of Angels who keep Lon order in the small Town. The two youngest daughters Tempest and Aurora on their own businesses as well Aurora owns a local magic General store basically and tempest the older of the two owns a local pub. Tempest also happens to be a rogue demon hunter who won occasion Leestown and chase it down evil demons causing troubles in the rest of the world. She also helps out the local law-enforcement in her small town when they cannot figure out a crime or bungle figuring out a crime. A very entertaining and fun read. Check it out
A good read. Murder has not only a low level demon in the frame but also her father. The father that has been missing for ten years but now has been found, even if he doesnt know her. Okay it doesn't answer all the questions and it has raised new issues. Is she going to pay for having found her father? When the message that has been waiting ten years to be delivered, is. She and the fairy make their way to the place he is supposed to be. But how to find him? Then there is Angel Force asking her to help with a demon kill. Finding her father only leads to more questions, he doesn't remember her and he's a suspect in the murder along with a low level demon. Her investigation leads to finding out there is a half sister, another murder and a demon that appears to be in two places at once. Can she get the killer to confess? How will she get her father's memories back and what will be the price?
I really like this storyline about a witch that hunts demons and her family guards the demon prison. Tempest also seems to get involved with the angel peacekeepers to solve crimes. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. Can't wait to see how the family drama resolves.
Tempest goes to Puzzlewood in search of her father and gets involved with a murder mystery. Tempest deals with Angels, demons and her fairy friend Bandit. I like the humor. There are a variety of suspects and motives. There are twists and surprises in the plot. Poor Wiggles cannot be with Tempest, and Bandit gloats about it.
So much fun and such a nail biter at the same time! Bandit is definitely comic relief with Wiggles back at home. She does torment him terribly! Lol! Tempest had so much going on with trying to find her dad and then the whole murder thing. Got to say, K. E. O’Connor is a fantastic author and sure throws in the twists that keep the reader guessing!
This book was fun, fully focused and full of sadness, attitude and love. I am happy that artie has been found. Now to learn more about Frank and how to be rid of him.
So...basically, angels are inept wherever they are, finding a lost loved one does not guarantee a happy ending, and Frank is problematic. All in all, this is a bit of a disappointment.
So, Tempest's search for her dad has concluded, although questions remain unanswered... As always, this series has provided me with enjoyment and hilarity (Bandit is seriously nuts). Now for book 11.
One of the better in this series. Not a fan of Bandit, but liked that Aurora wasn’t around a lot. I find her character - not interesting compared to others in this series.
Recommend.
