Whew! Still, it was a sweet, fun escape, perfect when one needs a break from reality but has little time to enjoy it!

A light, easy but engaging romp through the old west. Complete with snidely villains, heart-pounding horse chases, gun-slinging outlaws and, of course, romance. The novella length kept the story from anything but surface which was frustrating because these characters deserved the depth only hinted at. And the richness and understanding that could have been just didn’t have time as we raced to the finish. Still, it really is a fun escape when one is in the mood for a rollicking quick-read western!

Loved It
I thoroughly enjoyed this romance with a woman fleeing danger by joining her married sister and claiming to the wife of her sister's brother-in-law. Shower, he already had his eye on someone else. I enjoyed how the author worked through that complication and developed the characters. Interesting ending.

RESCUING A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS
While the story is part of the Bachelors and Babies series, it is a stand-alone story. The story is a clean historical western-based book. The story will also be an addition to the High Mountain Ranch Trilogy of the three Givens Brothers, Barclay, Jared, and Chase. But for now, it is the story of Jared Givens and Healy Kimbrough.
The story will have Healy, better known as Ruth (her first name), fleeing from Skelly Bernard and his goons after witnessing him murdering a man. She can’t go to the police, because the chief of police was present. Taking trains and stagecoaches, she goes to Cutthroat, Montana, claiming to be Mrs. Jared Givens.
Jared has had a childhood love of Melanie Gainsford since elementary school. What a shock to him and everyone in town, including Melanie, when a woman claims to be his wife. Learning it is his sister-in-law’s sister and her plight, he can’t just turn his back on her. Hiding her out at High Mountain Ranch is the safest place for her, among family.
The story has the good, the bad, and the evil of people. Healy is rightful scared and doesn’t want to be using her real name—from her sister’s letters, she remembers Jared’s name and feels it is a safe way to introduce herself to the town Marshall and gains his sympathy and compassion. What a shock for Jared to hear that a woman is claiming to be his wife—and then his Ma gets involved and assisted Healy to the ranch. Evil is determined to shut Ruth up, and trouble is following her—making her feel guilty for putting the Givens family, especially the precious triplets in danger.

The story is full of mystery, suspense, life and death danger, murder, kidnapping, deceit, and secrets. But it also is a slow, simmering, clean romance. Now, he needs to protect her and win her over before it’s too late. Will evil or good win this battle?

The Author has woven a wonderful story around these two and you will fall in love with the triplets all over again watching them grow and gain personalities! Please don't miss this beautiful book. I know you will love it as much as I did!

Disappointed
I was disappointed in this book on several levels. While I did like Jared's character, I felt he was shallow. Who on earth would submit and agree to pretend to be married to a stranger when he was courting another girl? This issue was unresolved in my mind and brushed away by saying they ended up friends.
The issue of the triplet babies was so unreal. Healy fell in love with ONE triplet! He happened to be apportioned to Jared (how fortunate)! This sub plot did not sit well with me.
The man Healy was terrified of and hiding from...was he really so obtuse?
It was plainly ridiculous. I did not like Healy. She acted selfishly and spent the whole book moaning about how she had endangered everyone. Sorry this was not one of the better books by Charlene Raddon.

Loved this story.
Jared and Healy were awesome as hero and heroine. I loved revisiting the Givens family again and all the people and three sweet babies in this wonderful and protective family. I think this is my favorite in the series so far but I have loved all the stories and can't wait until next month when the next one comes out. You get romance, adventure, and a rather interesting development with two of the bad guys.
I'm so glad that the two sisters will be living close by each other. Each now with an adopted son from the triplets. Now for Chase's story which I'm sure will be also just as awesome as the first two in this one family.
I highly recommend this story and all the ones previous and surely the rest that come out in this really wonderful series.

Three and a half stars
Storyline was good, but if you’ve read many western romance stories this seemed to have a mixture of two or three other stories of course written a bit different but as the book continued it got better so stay with it until the end. Thus is a stand alone novel. It if you can read Barclay then you’ll have a good back ground history on how the babies came yo be and such.
There is some curse words and a few issues where sex was mentioned so I wouldn’t recommend this to my advanced reading preteen friends, unless their parents read before and claim it ok fir their child.

Jared unexpectedly finds himself with a 'wife', well pretend anyway. Healy is fleeing from a brute, after overhearing a violent discussion. Jared's brother is her brother in law and she needs refuge and a new name to remain undiscovered. There are anxious moments throughout the book as we wait to see if she is discovered.
I loved the landscape and the characters in this book, set back in simpler times. The story was easy paced, and I enjoyed the journey.

When Jared comes to town he’s very surprised to hear about a woman who tells she’s his wife. Healy is on the run and doesn’t know any better than to go to her sister who is married to Jared’s brother. He fells home right away and Gage, one of the babies has an immediately liking to her. But will her arrival bring danger to the ranch? And what about Jared and Healy?

Charlene Raddon has penned a story that has all the elements of a great story with wonderful characters, which include old friends from previous stories in the series, new ones and some bad folks, as well. This story is action packed with adventure, danger, secrets, evil, romance and a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. It is a real page turner and I know you will enjoy it, too.

Sweet and suspenseful
Healy has reason to seek out her sister Cynara, but is afraid that harm could come to her sister, the Givens brothers and the babies because of her rash actions. I don't want to give away to much, but this story has some suspenseful times, exciting times, sweet times and times that my heart went out to her. It's a wonderful read and I know that you will live it as much as I did. The characters are very easy to get to know and love, especially the babies.

Healy was in trouble and had to leave St Louis quick, real quick and she couldn't leave a trail behind her. She had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that could get her killed. Montana was the only place that she could think of to go. She thought that if while she was traveling that she would Cuba a be her name. What could go wrong? Good Read!

Delightful
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Author Charlene Raddon definitely has a talent writing that will keep you turning the pages until the end. You will be kept guessing what will happen next with the many twists and turns in Healy's and Jared's story are revealed. It was a delight to read more about the Givens family which was featured in Barclay's book earlier in this series.

Good read
I really like it when a series of books in includes characters from other books, ("Barclay") . Searching for more in this series I see another coming soon. In the meantime I'll stay in order reading as they're released. The storyline and characters in "Jarod" erre just as enjoyable as others.

Wonderful story

Such fun
Okay, I got such a kick out of revisiting the Givens'. Cynara's little sister, Healy, finds herself in some trouble and runs to her sister. Only she didn't know about Cynara's new family, so she's panicked that she brought danger to them. This is Jared's story and wow! What an awesome man he turns out to be! What a read! On to Chase's story.

Charming
I look forward to these books each month, they are refreshing and sweet with some problems along the way. I didn't realise at first that this book was part of the Givens family, it was so good to meet up with them again.I look forward to Chas e' sstory.

Enjoyed
The Givens family certainly keeps the town of Cutthroat on its toes. It was good to visit with them and the triplets again. Well developed characters and plot. Healy will keep Jared guessing what she'll do next.

Wonderful read
Jared - middle brother Gage is his adopted son
Healy/Ruth- Cynara's sister on the run.
I enjoyed reading this engaging story that is fantastically written with charismatic characters and witty dialogue. Their story has a wonderful HEA!

Jared (Bachelors And Babies Book 7)
Love this book and I love the series. Charlene Raddon is a favorite author and she has three books in this series. The storyline is well thought out and along with the budding romance, there's plenty of angst and mystery to keep me happily reading and interested to the end. Recommend this book and the others written by different authors in the Bachelors and Babies series. I would read Barclay, book 4 first. JudyE
