A One Horse Open Slay: A Secrets of Sanctuary Cozy Mystery Holiday Short

Rate this book
Christmas is a time for friends and family to come together and put differences aside, but for the Ellsworth clan, that can sometimes be a monumental task. No one knows that better than Sandy Ellsworth, and this holiday season she finds herself in the middle of a dispute with a rival horse farm while falling victim to the beguiling charm of the owner’s son. As a murder mystery is underway on the streets of Sanctuary, Sandy must fend for herself to solve a series of confusing events. It could lead to an incident with serious consequences for both families, and cost her a chance at true love. **This fun, short story takes place during Cat’s Got Your Arsenic, and while it has some entertaining cross-overs, it isn’t necessary to have read the other book, and there aren’t any spoilers.

A One Horse Open Slay by Tara Meyers is a cute holiday novella set in her small mountain town of Sanctuary. This time it's Sandy Ellsworth who is involved in the mystery as she tries to bridge the rift between her family and the Parker family. A little mystery and a little romance for the holidays.

A short story that takes place during the action of another book.

A Hatfields and McCoys premise as the children of feuding families get together in a business deal that leads to more. Then someone sabotages their sleigh during the big Christmas parade. Whudunnit?

Short, but not bad, with fairly low stakes.

This is a good story, all the characters were great. I enjoyed the story line. It was fun and I didn’t even guess who did it

I enjoyed getting to know Sandy, the main character. The side characters were also interesting. The author packed quite a bit into this short read. I also liked Sandy's love interest and did not guess the mystery right away. She even included a recipe at the end which I especially appreciated. This was a fun short holiday read.
