Boy Problems: check. Family problems: check. Burning things to the ground problems: double-check.

Wynonna Riggs, daughter of Gloriana the Queen of the Winter Fairies, searches for her place in her mother's kingdom. The problem-she is convinced that her purpose is outside the protective wards of Shady Grove. No one in her family seems to understand. Her "boyfriend" just wants to be her mate. The only two people who seem to get it is the local Vampirate and the Bad Boy she shouldn't be around.

Stories of Frost and Fire starts with an introduction to how Winnie sees the world and finding her place in it. Zero Hour is the prequel to the series.

So, I decided to read this book because I am of course a fan of the Trailerverse series and part of the facebook group but I have never been a huge Wynona fan. Yeah she's the phoenix, yeah she has winter powers but nothing about her really ever appealed to me - sorry!
Then all the fairy kids grew up in a blink of an eye so there wasn't enough time to develop her character, because we have only ever seen her as a child and spoiled. Now she's an adult, so honestly we don't know about Wynona as an adult.
The book was super short, more like a novella. What made the book good is that it gave you more background info on all the other characters and what's going on in town, so that's how it drew you in. There were some grammatical errors but it's not a 5 star. The die hard fans will always give it a 5 star, but it was just okay.
If you have read the rest of the series and want more, then go ahead and read it but if you're fine with how the trailerverse ended then you don't really need to.

Wynonna Riggs is getting her own story and WOW!

Zero Hour is a great prequel to get Winnie's story started. Winnie is growing up faster than you can blink, almost literally. She's trying to find her place in the world which is difficult considering she's one of a kind. She was a plain old human,, now she's a winter fairy and the only living Phoenix. If you haven't read Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen ( you should lol) Kimbra gives a tour of sorts through Shady Grove and it's cast of characters. Zero Hour is wonderful, Kimbra is a kick butt writer and I absolutely can not wait to see what's in store for Winnie!

Perfect start to Winnie's story.

Kimbra transitions her readers from the trailer park books and Shady Grove with this novella. Winnie is becoming an Adult and turning into her own person and going to her own town, She's stepping out from her mother's shadow. It is makes her both excited and nervous. Normal for any kid trying to become an adult. Can't wait to see all the other kids helping her and finding themselves too. I can't wait for the rest of this series. This has just wet my appetite for more.

Winnie is a spitfire. Zero hour is her beginning for a new life.

Winnie wants and needs more. Mark is her friend, but he wants her as a mate. Kyrie is HOT and willing to just be there. She wants to find out what she is made of. What kind of person is she without being in her parents shadow. This book tells of her struggles getting ready to leave Shady Grove and The Veil for the outside world. Out there she won't have the protection she has always had.

Exciting and tantalizing glimpse of Winnie and her powers

Zero Hour is an amazing introduction into Winnie and her powers. She's conflicted and wants to blaze her way in this world. She's strong, courageous and loving, a perfect meld of Grace and Dylan. I can't wait to see her story unfold. This story offers you an tantalizing glimpse of the powerhouse she will become.

This 1st book in this new series has me excited

I love this start to Wiynonna's story. I can't wait to be able to read more to find out about her adventures and who she decides to spend her life with. After reading about her in the Trailer Park I feel like I know her as a child and can't wait to see how she does growing up so fast and being an adult now.

This will be amazing

What a great way to start Winnie`s story. As sad as I am to see Grace`s stories end it is easily overshadowed by all of the series to come. It'll be so great to see who Winnie becomes!

Winnie's turn to fly

Great introduction to Winnie as a pseudo teenager and the turbulent flight to come for this young Phoenix. I enjoyed this introduction to the next generation's escapes in the Trailer Park universe.
