This was a freebie, first in a series, probably found through The Fussy Librarian.
I like discovering new-to-me authors, especially when the discovery leads to many happy hours of reading. I had not heard of Sky McCoy before, and decided to take a chance on it - after all, it was free.

The best thing I can say about it is that I read it all in one evening. I'm accustomed to unrealistic characters (the main character is stinking rich, and works for a billionaire). I'm accustomed to any number of well-worn tropes in M/M fiction: parental rejection, enemies-to-lovers, suddenly-a-parent, pretending-to-be-straight, mix-ups involving identical twins/mistaken identity, etc. Unfortunately, McCoy took all those tropes, added a preposterous date-with-an-eligible-bachelor auction, tossed them all in a blender and came up with this story.

I kept waiting for some kind of payoff for my investment of time. These screwed up people should get a HEA, or at least HFN, right? Alas, there's no real end to this story! It's "to be continued" in the sequels: Own It, and Mean It. I can only imagine how the story will continue, twisted as it already is. Imagine, because I will not be purchasing the sequels. At the end of Say It I didn't care about any of the characters - except maybe the billionaire boss and his husband. They seemed interesting.

Say It? All I can say is "Goodbye."

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Jeremy was in deep, fear and Doubt holding him back. His family would never forgive him for being with a man, but can he really allow fear to hold him back when he finally meets the one man he has been waiting for his whole life? The day he willingly allowed Max and Jami to put him up for auction was both nerve wrecking and exciting all rolled up in one.
Dorian hated Phillip for making him go bid on a guy just for their firm. When unexpectedly the guy he gets is not just hot but in extreme denial of his true self. Swearing to Jeremy that before the week is up he will saw his true colours.  No one said there would be twins! Two of the man he wanted. What a cluster the universe was setting him up right this was a big Cosmic joke?
When tragedy strikes the lives of Jeremy's family, how will he hold-up to this new development in his life. Can he even explain the occurrence to anyone much less Dorian? Ok has Jeremy lost his mind? What the heck...

I would overall give this book a 3.5 just simply because I love the characters so much. But the plot in this book is so choppy that I get so frustrated reading it.

The opening of the book dragged me in quickly and I was hooked. I stayed that way for a long time just simply because the characters of Jeremy or Dorian were so interesting. And the chemistry between the two just jumped off the pages.

Then Sky McCoy's biggest drawback struck again. I am reading another series by him and have complained a few times that he just needs to edit his books better or get a better editor. There is a plot point where the twin brothers come up with a plan and although it is an old cliche it seemed interesting because there was actual chemistry between the other 2 characters. And then it just seemed like the author forgot what the plan was and threw Jeremy and Dorian into bed together.

And although there had been pages of build up and the scene was kind of steamy, the foreplay was tons better. I look forward to completing the series. The characters are wonderful. I just wish the author would tighten up his writing and edit it better.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` "I knew he was trouble the minute I saw his beautiful face, that body, and the way he strode up to me, extending his hand. However, he fascinated me and I had to have him."

Who could not NOT start reading after that introduction.

So. Interesting start to this trilogy. Confusion much at times, but a good set up to what will unfold over the next two books. I found Dorian to be a desperate, needy man who wore his heart on his shirt sleeves and kept getting beaten down by the stick. First by his business partner and ex, Phillip and then falling fast for Jeremy, the man he had bidden on and kept claiming he was straight. [Face palm.]

Jeremy. Yet another contradiction. He knew deep in his heart who he was and what he was, but for family, he'd keep himself miserable. Until Dorian. The green-eyed man who fascinated him.

Giving it 3.5 stars, almost 3 on heat. Still trying to get over all the twist that seemed to be so confusing.

Thank you to Sky McCoy for providing a free copy of Say It (Fascination #1) in exchange for a review.

First of all, I should say this kind of book is right up my alley. Sexy m/m romance that's mostly angst and drama? Yes, please!

Say It is definitely both those things in spades. The drama is high here for sure. Not just romantic drama either, there is a lot of family drama and friendship tension and life tragedies happening around Jeremy and Dorian, the heroes of the tale. If extreme experiences and emotions together aren't your cup of tea, you're going to want to miss this book because explosive emotions are what this story is built on and driven by.

I had some issues with this book. There were a lot of contrivances that seemed a little over the top. For example, "somehow," all the other bars are closed, and that's how Dorian ends up back drinking in the same place as Jeremy even though he had previously left. There are a lot of little things like this that make it feel a bit contrived. One unfortunate thing about fiction is that because the whole story *is* contrived, it can be challenging to make it not feel that way, and events that have happened to people in real life feel unrealistic in fiction. There were a few places I had some trouble following what was happening, which took me "out of the story" a little.

That said, I still very much wanted to see what happened, and wanted these two gents to get their happily ever after. There were many times in the book when I sunk into it, breathed in the world of the book, and didn't see anything of the real world around me. I was in line for nearly an hour in airport security, but did I mind? Nope, I was reading this book, and it felt like no time at all (even wondered why my old ankle injury was acting up until I realized just how long I'd been standing in line).

This is the first book I've read by Sky McCoy, but I don't expect it to be my last. I'm very interested in seeing where some of the other characters in this book end up, and I think there's a lot more to Dorian and Jeremy's story than we've seen yet.

Thanks again to Sky McCoy for the free copy of Say It (Fascination #1).

Say It (B07XJCZ9WV, 2020) is the first book in Sky McCoy’s “Fascination” series and I already cannot wait for the second book. I laughed and got hot and bothered and laughed some more while reading this book.

Say It goes down like a fine wine and makes you want to say anything to keep it going. Jeremy and Dorian are fantastic together. Jack and Max are great counterpoints to the serious Jeremy. The family drama which unfolds almost immediately does not detract from the romance, but ends up enhancing it.

I actually at one point in the story was saying, “NO, NO…” and then breathing a sigh of relief (you will know what I am talking about when you read that section (laugh - no spoilers here)). This type of writing is what we want as readers and McCoy gives it to us on a platter.

I will forewarn you that this does end on a cliffhanger though...not a huge one, but enough of one where you definitely want the next book quickly. (laugh) “Fascination” is off to a great start especially for this Valentine’s season.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

I tried to like this book as the premise was interesting. But OMG: SO. MUCH. EXPOSITION. It is ok to show instead of tell... repeatedly. If I had to hear one more time about the anger at the ex-partner/boss or that family was the reason not to come out... my iPad may have been chucked across the room. Yet, despite the overdrawn exposition, random plot points came out of nowhere. For example, with all the talk about the importance of family, the fact that Jeremy was a sperm donor for his brother might have come up sooner in the book, rather than being thrown in immediately before it was relevant. This kind of thing was done a number of times and was really irritating. Speaking of, NO ONE seems to be looking for Carter after his wife dies to either make him be accountable to his child, or comfort him. WTF. Especially again, after all the “I can’t risk my family” moaning. And the presumption on Jeremy’s part that this guy he just met would want this kid with him... bizarre. Especially when he says he will wait to tell him, and then comes up with the twin swap game (so random again) that really does nothing to further the plot.

Jack is a masterful character. On the outside, you would never know the turmoil he holds inside. He has older brothers, already married with kids, and a twin that's out and proud. His twin knows his heart, but Jack won't come out because of the family harassment it will bring. Dorian meets Jeremy at an auction where eligible bachelors are being auctioned off for charity. Jeremy is there under protest and he's supposed to purchase one of their clients, but he backed out at the last minute. That is how Dorian got roped into this whole thing. Did I mention that Dorian has a fiance? Dorian has an intense reaction to Jeremy but it is not really pleasant. Jeremy wants Dorian to admit what he wants, what he is but Dorian stubbornly refuses. They have a roller coaster ride with some good times and some bad times. I loved this book. Dorian wants what he wants, he just doesn't want to say it. Question is, is he willing to lose Jeremy over it? I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.

Jeremy won’t admit he’s gay. His twin Jack is out but Jeremy can’t face his other brothers. Dorian likes his gay life. So what if his ex is his boss and making his life miserable. Both men are (sort of) forced to attend an auction to raise money for a charity. When Dorian wins the bid for Jeremy he can’t wait to make the man his. Not so easily done though.

This story got a bit convoluted, I think it was to much going on with side characters. I liked the storyline but parts of it were just to over the top. Jeremy and Dorian are great characters and I really want to know more about Jack. The book ended right at a pivotal scene which was disappointing. There are apparently two more books in the series. This book for me would probably be a 3.5 stars but the main characters are so sweet and irritating that I’ll give it a 4.

I received an arc of this book.

Wow!
I'm hooked! Sky did a phenomenal job with this book and has left me wanting more; I couldn't put it down! Jeremy and Dorian are fantastic! Jeremy is tried of living in hiding but has yet to meet the man he wants forever with. Dorian has been hurt in the past and just wants someone to love him. These two are perfect for each other! Add a surprise twin, stuck-up family, and a headache of a business partner/ex, and a few more twists and you have great book that will leave you wanting more too! I highly recommend this book!

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This story so far has drawn me in wanting more more more! I HATE stories with cliffhangers and usually try to stay away from them if the whole series isn’t out yet but I just couldn’t resist trying it out to see if it would even be worth the time. Stupid me cause now I’m sitting here like WTF happens next I NEED TO KNOW LIKE NOW! Ugh but other than that it’s great! All types of feels and things I never saw coming! It definitely is a must read but I would recommend it when all the books are available so your not sitting there on edge like for real I NEED to know what happens next like right now like I am!

This was an interesting book to read. It can't be classified as a romance because, except for Max and Jami, there wasn't any love expressed.

None of the characters are particularly admirable and were hard to love or champion.

Lindsey and Carter's relationship was more parental than partners. Jack is searching... Jeremy is fighting his inner feelings and desires... Annalisa just wants what she wants... Dorian knows what he wants but can't move past a toxic relationship. Jake's older brothers are only out for themselves. Philip is weak and Eric is manipulative.

If you enjoy complicated stories with a cliff hanger...you'll probably enjoy this!

The story of this book is all over the place, with every theme visited upon in a day time soap opera. It left me confused half the time, and frustrated the rest of it with the constant repetitions.
At one point I yelled at the book because Dorian's past relationship was rehashed once again, and the mention of the vet.

The blurb lured me in and it had so much potential but it just vanished in to strange turns and odd decisions that made no sense.

It had funny moments, though I'm inclined to think half of those was my own confusion acting out.

Loved this story and series of books, about in-the-closet Jeremy, put up for auction by his friends and being won unexpectedly by Dorien who only goes to the auction fir his so called friend. Notvwhay his parents want for Jeremy the next three books bring us on the journey of a romance. Acceptance and discovery. Well written and well worth the read. Have to read all three. Got the set-off books as a freebie in exchange fir an honest review. Cant but help live them both. How they help each other accept themselves in order to be together.

No

I can't even with this book. It was too much of a rollercoaster to many soap opera turns and a cliff hanger to boot. If I had known I would not have wasted my time. This could have been done in 1 book. Honestly I don't think I have given a low mark because I truly love reading and give authors a chance but this one did everything to not want me to keep reading i had to skip over sections because of the whiplash of back and forth will he won't he. I cannot do this again with another book.

Say It by Sky McCoy is the first book in the Fascination Series. It is a contemporary m/m romance between a man in the closet and the beautiful man who makes him consider coming out. Then life gets really complicated.
There is drama, angst, denial, omissions, deception, secrets, steam, heat and humor. This book snagged my attention from the first chapter and I can not wait for the next book to continue the journey with Jeremy and Dorian.

Can't do it

This is the kind of guy Jeremy is. "... go to sleep at night with my cock in his hole." That's what he wants and how he imagines a relationship, should he ever get out of the closet. He also wants someone well hung. Nothing about personality, just fucking. "M/M Romance." That's a joke. I'm sure he'll change but when first meeting, who would be stupid enough to want anything more out of him than a quick fuck?

Something was definitely missing...

Geez...I hate it when a book blurb gets me all wound up—only to discover the book was oversold! This could have been a killer read with this storyline and characters; but it seems to have lost momentum and ended up just being sort of ho-hum. I don’t think I’ll read the next book in series.

Hmm..

So, it took me a couple of tries to get past the third chapter and I did finally succeed. I will be honest, I did love the story and pacing it gave, but it just felt somewhat all over the place to me, messy, and often I got confused about just what was going on.

DNF @ 14%
Wow fastest DNF'ed book for me so far!
All the characters were highly unlikeable and the writing was all over the place. At times I didn't understand what was being said.
I'm sorry.

Sometimes a bit over the top but all in all you don't want it to end. A great lead in for the next book.
