The impact of childhood trauma and abuse can forever alter the course of history. Throughout generations, countless children have been hurt by those that are meant to care for them. Yet, in society once those children turn to adults the impacts of child abuse are often discounted and spoken to with the frame of ‘that was years ago” or “it’s time to get over it.” The reality is that we are at the core a collection of all of our experiences leading up to this very moment. If the childhood trauma survivor’s foundation is built atop a volcano, then sooner or later it will be engulfed. Childhood trauma and abuse is the elephant in the room of societies mental health epidemic, and most people don’t know how to understand the role that trauma has played in their life.
When I sat down to craft the baseline of The Think Unbroken book, I did so intending to create something that would be a testimony to the undeniable will of the human mindset. For generations, the world has been plagued by the ramifications of the effects of Child Trauma, and like millions of childhood trauma survivors, I was stuck in The Vortex. My life in a word was a disaster. I was an addict of undeniable proportions, I was morbidly obese and suffocating under the weight of my past.
Think Unbroken is not only a guide to helping other Trauma Survivors find their way out of The Vortex, but it is also the cornerstone to how I changed my life. I am, in essence, a product of my product, and I believe that Think Unbroken is the key to taking the first steps in overcoming the effects of childhood trauma.
This book will expose you to possibility through mindset, palatable understandings of self, and a step by step guide to discovering out how to place the first piece of the puzzle on the table.
What you will find in Think Unbroken is not just my story, but a reflection of the possibilities that can become a reality when you understand that Mindset is Everything.
Childhood trauma took everything from me, but I took everything back, and so can you.
“THOUGH TRAUMA MAY BE OUR FOUNDATION IT IS NOT OUR FUTURE.”
I really appreciate the perspective and layout of this book. The author tells his story really well but also provides effective steps to take in creating positive life changes. It's enlightening and informative, particularly for those in the earlier stages of their healing journey. Although would be beneficial to read at any stage of healing. Think Unbroken also provides a unique opportunity for those that work in the world of trauma, allowing us a to see through his eyes the journey from survivor to thriver.
A solid exploration into what childhood trauma means for its survivors.
I appreciate Anthony's candor and direct language. This is literature I will be comfortable recommending to my clients because it speaks the same way they do, and also offers a challenge: let your past break you, or elect to overcome; to understand where you've been, but choose where you go.
Good stuff which I'll add to the list of recommended reads for my clients. 4 Stars
This story hits the lowest of the low's to the highest of the highs. Powerful, profound and from the gut, that is how the author lays it out for the readers. You can feel all the emotions as you make your way through this story. The author did a great job bringing us through his journey and showing us how, self talking, and a strong mindset can change your life path. This is a great book for the people out there struggling, who could use some home and inspiration.
Brilliantly direct, no nonsense advice for anyone struggling with childhood trauma
What I love about this book is that it is written from the heart. It’s like having a relatable coach on your side to tell you it’s ok to fall down, but what’s important is knowing YOU have the power to stand up and stand tall. And they have done it and will show you that you can do it too…
I’ve read a lot of self-help/trauma related books but this one was different! I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to understand & over come childhood trauma.
This is one of the best books I have ever read on trauma recovery. Heartfelt, no bullsh#t, actionable steps, and so relatable. I will be recommending this one to my therapist and my students.
