After that CLIFFHANGER .. I'm glad I didn't have to wait for the second novel! Talk about #HOTMESS (NOT TALKING ABOUT MYSELF .. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS EMOTIONS OVERLOAD). Like i've said before .. I was NOT expecting that. I really enjoyed this story, these characters, and the series in general. So beautifully written .. there's always ups and downs in relationships and they can get quite messy (UNDERSTATEMENT). It was quite realistic with respect to pursuing a dream that you've worked for as opposed to other novels where everything is dropped and everything is right in the world .. meanwhile the reader is thinking WHAT the ACTUAL f*ck?! Thankfully this novel lacks that and gives you a realistic ending (THAT PROLOGUE THOUGH) on that note .. I do recommend and I CANNOT wait for that spin-off!!!

I only think of you
And it's breaking my heart
I'm trying to keep it together
But I'm falling apart .. ►♫

In the follow up novel from Corinne Michaels, Beholden begins with a prologue that tore my heart out and the story that followed never once released its grip.

Catherine had finally decided what she wanted. Jackson. But her heart is broken as he walks away from her just when she realizes what she wants. Another man that let her down. But this time she is willing to fight for what she wants and it’s not an easy battle. Jackson is recovering from his injuries, having to come to terms with the slow process of healing – she has a career that she’s trying to build and they are both trying to find their way in this love story. But there are still secrets that linger, things that Jackson never told her – things that always have a way of coming out. Things that remind Catherine of the heartbreak that has always followed when she allowed herself to feel something for someone.

Jackson has allowed the guilt of every loss to rest upon his shoulders. He’s carried that burden even though it was never his to hold onto. Loving Catherine wasn’t supposed to happen, in his life loving someone has always ended in them being hurt. But this time, Jackson is willing to fight even if Catherine is ready to walk away.

This was an absolutely stunning follow up to Corinne’s first novel. I loved every second of it. Even those moments where my heart was breaking and I was left wondering how this was all going to end. The story was unpredictable and so well written; it kept my attention from page one and when I flipped that last page I was not ready for it to be over with.

I think I fell in love with these characters instantly. All of them. And even though some held characteristics that I usually want to roll my eyes at, they were written so well that it fit them. It was part of who they were and it made sense. That alone made those qualities work, it never forced. These weren’t just cliché traits tossed into a hat and pulled out, they made the characters realistic and completely loveable. It’s the difference between forced situations and something that just felt natural.

After finishing this novel I tried hard to find something that I felt didn’t work or something, but I came up empty handed. Every piece of this story worked. A love story that was certainly not all hearts and flowers, but with a theme that ensured that you felt all the moments. Characters that you meet and want to know more about.

Screenshot_21

This is a series you don’t want to miss and an author to keep an eye on. I am crossing my fingers that Aston and Mark are making a racket in her head, making her crazy with the need to write their story because that is one that I would love to see happen.

If you’ve been searching for that next romance read that just has that quality that makes your heart beat a little faster, that causes you to become so invested in the characters that their hurt becomes your hurt... that feeling of anticipation as to what is to come, the complete inability to put the book down because you HAVE TO KNOW what happens next, well this is it. Pick it up. Read it. Fall in love with it and tell all your friends. I cannot wait for more from this author. Absolutely loved every second of this series.

Well. No.

I wanted this to be better than Beloved, but sadly it turned out worse. Obviously I'm a minority here because most readers who read this seemed to have loved it. But I just couldn't bring myself to care about either of the MCs and their relationship. *sighs*

This book was loaded with drama which wasn't well dealt with. I was cringing most of the times at how cheesy their relationship was. Look, I'm all for cheesy. Sometimes we all need some cheesy books, but this one? No. Way too cheesy. The type of cheesy I can't tolerate. I basically just sat there rolling my eyes at the cheesy scenes.

More of Jackson's past was revealed in this book and while it was tragic and I really did feel sad for him, this wasn't enough for me to gain interest in him all over again. He was overly clingy, cringey and just too extreme. Catherine was super annoying and stubborn and I don't want to discuss her, to be honest.

I did like the side characters: Mark, Ashton and Natalie and I'm quite excited because books 3 and 4 of this series are Natalie's story and book 5 is Mark's story. So, despite the fact that I did not enjoy Jackson and Catherine's story, I can't wait to read Natalie and Mark's stories!

Beholden is the continuation of Catherine and Jackson’s story and if you read Beloved you know this cliffy was a mother. Unfortunately this is Corinne we are talking about so you can expect the unexpected.

I jumped right into this story after that nerve biting cliffy and read it in one sitting…both books back to back. That may seem crazy, but if you read these books it would make complete sense.

After I read Beloved I was completely messed up with what would come in this installment. Of course when I started this one I expected to be let off the cliff, you know that’s how books usually start, but of course that’s not what happens. This book isn’t an extended epilogue, it is a complete continuance of the story with just as much heart, angst, and fun.

Jackson and Catherine have been through so many things and they still have so many things to work through. In this installment we learn so much about Jackson and his past, and it completely broke my heart. Learning his past only endeared me to him more. Jackson is this strong, resilient man, but more than that he is compassionate, forgiving and self-sacrificing. I loved watching these two navigate their future while trying to move on from their past.

“People make mistakes, mistakes don’t make the people.”

Beholden is a beautiful, addictive story…I highly recommend!

OMG the opening scene
for this 2nd instalment of Beloved had me speechless SPEECHLESS I TELL YOU, I was like WTF this can't be right!!

As Catherine and Jackson's story continues....

Everything becomes foggy and numb. I'm so tired. The smell of sweat, blood, and fear filters through the humvee.

"Eye's open you FUCKBAG! Don't close them"

Yes, Yes, Yes my thought's exactly!!!

I tell you I was all in a tizz
....

As I said in My Beloved Review it was exactly how I like my books, Suspenseful. Swoonworthy. Lashings of Drama. Sexy. Intriguing. sooooo gooooood.

Catherine was a great heroine. She was strong and smart – an absolute survivor.

The supporting cast were amazing too, loved her bestie Ashton - hilarious.

Ohhh and the hunk of a man MARK - Jackson's friend well I'd love to read he's story!!

Even Neil the evil ex - played the villain well....yes I wanted to get my hairbrush out and whack him a few times...YES indeedy I did LOL!!

So overall, a fab read.......what you waiting for go one click...

If you don't like it, YOU CAN TAKE VENGEANCE....WITH MY HAIRBRUSH!!

I have to admit, I so not remember much of Catherine and Jackson's story from Beloved. So when I picked up Beholden, I am not sure what I feel.
Yes, Miss Michaels done a good job with cheesy and sweet writing on Beholden. But I need something more.

Maybe my taste has been changed over the years. Overall the story is OK. A bit too cheesy.

There is nothing sadder than finishing a book and regretting you ever picked it up. The only reason I'm not giving this a 2 star rating is bc of the Hero and secondary characters. I had issues with the heroine from book one but I loved Jackson and the other characters also the cliffhanger left me wanting more. Catherine never changes, she is the biggest drama queen one can imagine. Everything is ab her, although she pushed Jackson away for a stupid reason some how when he does the same thing, that was way worse, almost unforgivable, so bad that she has to put up conditions in order to forgive him even though the guy is in a hospital bed. The secondary characters are great bc they tell her what the reader is thinking, that she is a selfish .... that is just as much her fault, but all that has no merit bc she never admits it out loud. Oh sure she admits in her head that she is to blame as well for their problems but never to Jackson or anyone else, she always guilt trips him. The whole series he apologizes even for situations that aren't his fault. She says he is the love of her life but she always puts her job first she even admits that her biggest fear ab their relationship is what's gonna happen to her job if they break up. Shouldn't she worry more ab loosing the so called love of her life??? I think this duet frustrated me so much bc it could have been such a wonderful read. When they are together they are great, funny and the writing in general is good and flows easily but my God the drama was forced and ridiculous. She breaks up with him, like he was nothing, like they had nothing just bc she finds out he used to be married. Who does that? Sure you are upset, you yell, you scream whatever but after all they've been through we are suppose to be sympathetic to her when she doesn t even let him explain?? He didn t lie bc he was a jerk he didn't tell her bc talking ab the wife and baby you lost is not easy. Her reaction was so ridiculous that I just gave up on this couple, she doesn t deserve him. When he forces her to listen to him she still chooses her job. Come on ..the guy has more money than Bill Gates, she could have run Raven, start her own company, anything...but we are suppose to believe that she could only achieve her professional goals by moving to another city. Jackson was amazing till the end, the epilogue was cute but by that point I didn t care. She never chose Jackson first, she was always ab what was right for her and how things affected her. She played the victim all the time. For the author I'm glad many people seem to have a different opinion than mine. I don t understand how can a weak and whiny heroine or forced drama can be enjoyable but to each it's own.

Beholden (Belonging #2) by Corinne Michaels
5 stars!!

“People make mistakes, mistakes don’t make the people.”

Well, I have cried like a baby reading this book, Corinne Michaels certainly ripped my heart out, stomped on it, cut it up into little tiny pieces and then slowly but surely put it back together again. I love an emotional read, they are my favourites and Corinne certainly delivered on that front, I was decimated but I also had a lot of laughs and smiles.

After the cliffy we were left with in Beloved, Corinne takes no prisoners with the prologue that this book begins with, she truly goes for the jugular…so taken aback was I that I had to read it again just to make sure that I hadn’t read it wrong. All I can say is, what a start!!

Jackson and Catherine were a couple with issues, we knew this and finally Catherine realises what she wants and who she wants and that is Jackson. When Catherine sets her mind to something she is like a dog with a bone and I was hoping that Jackson was ready for the onslaught that was Catherine. Jackson needed this though, he needed her to take the initiative and I was so glad she did. I love this couple and was rooting for them from the start. You know that the course of true love never runs smooth and despite some omissions I was championing Jackson throughout this book.

“I love you, Catherine. I would walk through fire for you,” Jackson says and my heart stops.
I turn and look at him. “You wouldn’t have had to. I would’ve put out the flames before they reached you. Instead you managed to burn me yourself.”

Jackson is a man with a lot of weight on his shoulders, even though it really needn’t be weighing him down. In his line of work there is always going to be deaths, but each death Jackson takes personally and bears the weight and burden. He is so conflicted at times. He feels undeserving and just feels that anyone that matters leaves him, so he tries to protect himself. The intense feelings that he has for Catherine, at times scares him, but he also realises that despite what he tries to tell himself, he needs her just as much.

We have ups and downs, secrets have a habit of getting a voice and coming out into the open with devastating consequences for these two. This time it is Catherine that does the walking and is also Jackson’s turn to do the pursuing. He comes to realise that him and Catherine were meant to be together, they cannot live without each other, despite the world trying to intervene and tell them otherwise. He know needs to make her see that he is the one, despite their flaws.

“Despite the rough seas, we discovered our calm waters.”

The growth in Corinne’s writing is evident throughout this book. The story was compelling and I couldn’t put it down, I had to read in one sitting. I had run the gamut of emotions and was a snotty, puffy eyed mess, but I knew that I had read a really good book. The intensity of their chemistry radiated off the page, I felt more for Jackson I must admit. I felt that all-consuming love he had for Catherine, I felt his pain and his insecurities, I just connected with him a whole lot more. I felt for him on so many levels, when he hurt I hurt, I just wanted to give him a huge hug. Catherine and her abandonment issues had me a little cross at times but I did understand and had to give her the benefit of the doubt, even if she was putting my Jackson through the mill in the process.

This was a great sequel and ending for these two. From the prologue to the epilogue you will be hooked. You will feel, you will laugh, you will cry, you will love, you will hate, you will get angry, but you will also be happy. Yes this plethora of emotions is just the tip of the ice berg for this journey that you are about to embark on, but one thing is for sure, you will know it was good, like really really good.

“Love is messy and life sucks.”

It took no time at all for me to fall back into Catherine and Jackson's world. As a follow up to Corinne Michael's novel Beloved, Beholden took me right back to the love that Catherine and Jackson shared.

Life happens and these two individuals are tested...I loved how strong the characters were and how strongly I felt their feelings. Corinne does a masterful job of immersing her readers in this world of trust, friendship, honor, loyalty, and love. I couldn't wait to find out what happened or to learn why other things happened.

Beholden has the right amount of suspense to keep me glued to my Kindle. I'm very happy that I was able to be back in Catherine and Jackson's world! Five stars...put this on you TBR!!!

I will start by saying Corinne Michaels writes beautifully. I really appreciate an angsty love story with passion, steam and full on emotions. Im pretty certain that book 1 and its cliffhanger gutted me for days so this was pre-order/1-click no mess around kinda book for me!

This series is all about second chance love, sacrifice, and taking a chance. It is also about the highs and lows of falling in love. Jackson and Catherine are beautiful together.

So, If I could, I would love to rate this review with a spit rating. You see, I really liked the writing, the style, the overall story which could be a 4.5-5* tale. I fell hard for Jackson and his love for Catherine was at times so overwhelming. This author writes her intimacy with deep emotions...touches and looks, deep breaths, all consuming tingles...DEAR LORD, I felt like I was falling in love for the first time!

Unfortunately, Catherine Pope, the heroine had me at my wits end! She alone could have had me packing it in and calling it a night! I was severely agitated by her "i love you" but " I cant be with you act."

Ummmmm....

EXACTLY! WTH...you drop your whole life when you realize you could lose the man you love. You have everything you want and with a man who worships you in the most amazing alpha hot way...GET A GRIP!

So, I wont give anything away as to the story, but just know there is love, passion, lots of sex and great witty banter. There is also miscommunication, extreme stubbornness, and dumb heroine acts. If you love angst, tears, love, passion, sex and strong men who fall hard...you will enjoy this! Jackson alone is worth the read!!!

Whatever this duet is selling is not love. That’s bullshit and potential manipulative and toxic relationships glorified for I don’t know whose benefits.

First time he demands she let him in and he’ll not be the one to walk away, just to do EXACTLY that the moment SHE gives in. I guess one can even interpret as the male ego being hurt when she tried to let him go (for legit reasons if you ask me), so he had to get her to take him back so HE can walk away. All the doing the right thing for her was PURE BS. He basically just breaks his promise the moment she gives in.

This story shouldn’t have progressed after that to begin with. He shouldn’t have been forgiven to begin with. But because the woman is an idiot and forgives him, what does he do? Promptly goes and breaks any promises he made to her as a condition of their relationship.

No. Her friends were wrong. She shouldn’t have to listen to him explaining something that he should have disclosed at the beginning. She wasn’t mad at the secret. She was mad because he betrayed her with that secret. She owes him nothing after the betrayal. And TBH, he COULDNT explain anything. The reason for not telling her: he just didn’t want to.

I can’t believe her friends were telling her mistakes don’t make people but people make mistake. Mistake is forgetting your toothbrush before your sleepover. To lie, is NOT a mistake. It’s a damn choice that he made.

Someone said the h was terrible because she didn’t cut a gorgeous loyal guy who wants to give her the world some slacks. He was NOT loyal, he did NOT give her the world, for the world would have meant honesty and truth. He’s just a rich guy who refused to let her go cause he can. Excusing his behaviour yet faulting her normal reaction is on you. That’s what enables toxic masculinity and rape culture. All her friends basically giving this message was also pure BS.

*3.5* This is one of those books that reminds me of watching a reality show. You fully realize how ridiculous everything is, yet the melodramatic drama sucks you back in every time. The big secret that the H was holding onto, felt so silly in the whole scheme of things, I don't know why he didn't tell her from the get go. Hot steam, wonderful BFFs, and a decent overall soap opera of a story.

I was blown away earlier this year when I read Corinne Michaels debut novel, Beloved. I was stunned. This was one of those books that had you thinking, how is this, this authors first book??? So, I've been sitting here, impatiently waiting for Beholden to come out, and it was so worth the wait!!!!!

Beholden picks up right where the brutal cliffhanger in Beloved left off. Jackson has been injured and Catherine is right there, standing by his side. There are so many questions that need to be answered. But their love is strong enough to give them a second chance...Just when things are finally looking up for Jackson and Catherine, a secret comes out that has the possibility to destroy everything they've fought so hard for. Will Catherine be able to move on and forgive Jackson? Can their love be repaired?

"I was ready to fight everything for him. Then he ripped me apart and left me! He fucking left me and didn't look back."

I don't even know where to start with this. Once again, Corinne has completely consumed me with her writing. I felt each emotion the characters were experiencing as if they were my own. I got lost and was completely consumed by Jackson and Catherine's story, not wanting to miss a single moment.

"How is it possible to love someone this much but hurt so much more? He's taken my heart and I don't know that I'll ever get it back"

Catherine and Jackson's journey has been anything but easy. The path was difficult, but no one said being in love was easy. Love is messy and complicated, but when you have something worth fighting for, you never want to let it go! That's one of the things that I loved most about Catherine and Jackson. They both fought so hard for their love and even when things seemed bleak, they didn't give up!

"All I want is to stay in this moment forever. Just the two of us tonight, because I don't want this night to end. I want to freeze time and live right here forever"

The bar was set high for me, for Beholden and I'm so glad that I was not let down. Beholden will make you laugh, cry, swoon and maybe even yell at your kindle(I had a few of those moments)......I loved the angst and romance.

The characters are amazing. Even those secondary characters, they held their own and added so much to the story.

I've said it before and I will say it again, Corinne Michaels is definitely an author that you will want to watch for. Beholden was such an enjoyable read! I can't wait to see where Corinne Michaels will take us next!

BOOM…BOOM…BOOM…BOOM…CLAP!!!!! Do you hear that? That will be the sound of your heart, the beat goes on and on and on with every page you turn and read with this heart pounding, soul touching, and mind-blowing story!!!

“Is there anything ever broken beyond repair.” Can a life, a heart, a soul ever be put back together? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, at least that’s what they say…
“My mind is filled with a thousand questions and none of them I want the answers to.”
What do you do when you find love and lost it once before, do you give it a second chance?

Catherine has a need, a want, and a desire…..just like every girl out there I know. If you have it…hold on tight to it, fight for it, and love it with all you got!!
“You’re the only one that knows me dammit. Don’t shut me out.”
It’s a need to BELONG. Open up your heart, mind, body and soul and just let go… Consume it. Make yourself matter. Because in the end you are worth it.
A want to BELOVED. Love it with all you got.
A desire to BEHOLDEN. Hold on to it with all your strength.

Jackson Cole is a fighter, a solider, a SEAL, a protector, and a hero. He fights his own demons on a daily basis and blames himself for so many lives that were lost. He carries the guilt on his shoulders and in his heart daily…if only he can break-free, then he can move on and have the life he wants, needs, and desires.

How can you break-free from the past that is holding you down?
How can you move forward into your future and hold on to your dreams by letting go of the demons?

There is something about Jackson and Catherine that makes them lose themselves in each other. His words, her words, her love, his love, they all make you want this feeling to last for the rest of their lives.
If only she knew how lonely his life has been without her in it...
If only he knew how lonely she was without him in it...

Will he fight for Catherine? Will he seal his love for them? Will he hurt her and walk away again, never look back and destroy her?

She is the light to his darkness. He loses his shadow when she is around. She feels like home. He feels like home. It feels like they are where they belong. Until……

“I will always find you Catherine.”

They say if you love something set it free...if it's meant to be, you will find your way back to each other.
Easy enough, right? Well, nothing is ever easy for Jackson or Catherine....they are always hard on themselves, especially when it comes to their hearts.

Jackson Cole and Catherine Pope always want to protect each other...even if its meant pushing the other away.

"Sometimes the timing isn’t right.”

“This is life and love is messy.”

How far will they go?

Will they find each other again?

Corinne Michaels has FOUND MY HEART and CAPTURED IT ONCE AGAIN in BEHOLDEN!!! Don’t even try to hold on to it ladies, she has a magical way with words that will automatically gravitate towards Jackson, Catherine, Ashton and Mark. Corinne Michaels, I need more!!! Can't wait to read more of her wonderful work that makes me feel EVERYTHING the characters do!!! Get ready to be blown away!!! Not even a SEAL can protect you from falling...You will fall in love!

This is the continuation of Jackson and Catherine’s story. Things were very up in the air at the end of Beloved and ended quite dramatically. Things were messy in their relationship and Catherine was confused about how things stood between them. However, this has to be put aside while they deal with what has happened to Jackson.

Catherine is bedside to Jackson as he wakes up from his injuries in hospital. All she is concerned about is his health and recovery, the thought of losing him permanently is unbearable and really cements the depth of love she has for him. Yes, there are things they need to work through but I think they both know it will be worth it.

Jackson is trying to deal with the personal guilt and responsibility he feels for his lost comrades. This is something only he can work through. He knows he needs to be more open and honest with Catherine, he is completely in love with her and being without her is not something he ever wants to entertain. He may be too late though...

Catherine is still going ahead with her plans to start anew, Jackson has responsibilities he can’t walk away from and if he wants to put down permanent roots with her he needs to make a lot of changes and prove to her that he is someone she can trust and count on.

I really loved this duet and this was so easy to read. I loved the epilogue!

4.5 Beholden Stars

It has taken me a few days to let the rest of this story sink in. I loved it as you can tell by my star rating.

But it was more than that it was the feeling I had when I finished the book. I can’t explain it. I thought if I took a day or so it would help me be able to put in to words why I liked this part of the story so much.

I wasn't a fan of Catherine in book one only because I didn't feel she was a very strong character but she sure showed me in this book. She was everything I wanted her to be from book one. So I was very happy with that.

Jackson goes through some heavy stuff in this book and its nice that he had Catherine there even if they do go through some hardships. I think it made them stronger in the end for it.

A PERFECT addition to this duet, glad I picked them up.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I really enjoyed the first book but this book was like a damn tug of war. There was too much bickering back and forth. The annoying heroine was the icing to this overdramatised story line. Their relationship gave me a damn case of whiplash. They constantly declared their love for each other and that they will never ever leave each other. Then a misunderstanding happened that led to a series of drama and more drama, unnecessary drama. Clearly, they did not get the memo that a relationship involves communication.Nope, the heroine did not allow him to explain. Instead, she held a grudge for the last 30% of the book. *Sigh* 3 stars . That's being generous since I adored the secondary characters and it had a sweet epilogue.

I just finished and I am on a Beholden high! Corinne blew me away with her beautiful writing in Beloved and she did not miss a beat in the follow up. The writing is flawless! This storyline kept me crying, laughing, and screaming! The easy banter between all of the characters allowed me to instantly transform myself into the story. Beloved made me fall in love with Jackson and Catherine but Beholden has engrained them into my heart. Their story wasn't pretty or anywhere near perfect but it's their story. " This is life and love is messy." I can't wait to see what Corinne brings us next!!

You know when you have been waiting for the next book to come out in a series or in this case a duet. Well when I received my ARC for an honest review I was re-thinking it as I was a crying my eyes out. But it was well worth the tears, heart break and laughs. So get your tissues, wine, ice cream whatever you need and find out what happens with Jackson and Cat!!!

It was Amazing!!! Corinne gave me everything I wanted in Beholden. I love her style of writing and I am looking forward to more books by her!!! I don't want to give anything away just read this series

Why oh why do I continue to torture myself...... because I can't help falling in love with these amazing characters and stories! Corinne once again had me laughing, crying and in awe of her storytelling. This book is the continuation of Cat and Jackson's story and one that was heartbreaking, riveting and downright seducing that you just can't put it down. I've waited too long to read this duet because I was so afraid to have my heart shredded but it was worth every moment!

2.5 angsty, overly dramatic stars

Mixed feelings again for this book. Picking up immediately after the nasty cliffy of Beloved, I was right into the story and really enjoyed the emotion and excitement as it all played out. Jackson and Catherine’s love story progressed beautifully as they realized and openly admitted that they wanted to be together, they sorted through their issues, and everything was swoony, passionate and functional – just the way I like it!

But there are still secrets between them and when all is revealed, everything goes to hell once again, and OMG, Catherine drove me bat-shit crazy! Despite declaring absolute and undying love to Jackson over and over again, she was all too fast to run when things got messy. It was all too angsty for me and I was annoyed for the majority of the book.

Things eventually work out ok, of course, with true love conquering all for a happy ending, the bad guys getting what’s coming to them, and a fantastic epilogue which made me smile. But the relationship drama really brought this book down for me when it was all completely unavoidable!

Having said that though, I’m glad that I read it because it provides a good background for the boys of the series, their security business and their history and relationships with each other. And Jackson is definitely a highlight. He’s a man totally and unapologetically in love, and his determination to win Catherine back (however strange that decision may feel to me), was beautifully swoony and romantic.

"She's every breath I breathe, every beat of my heart, and I never want it to stop."

Again, I’m glad that I didn’t read this book first because I probably wouldn’t have gone on with the series if I had done so. But having already read the Consolation / Conviction duet, I know how awesome this author’s writing can be, so I’m eagerly going on to Mark’s story in Defenseless.

2.5 stars.

I fell in love with Jackson the very moment Cat fell into his lap in Beloved, before actually. This wonderful, sexy, damn near perfect man who helped to make a broken woman whole again, better version of her even. Cat was beat down, believed herself incapable of being loved and he helped to turn her into someone who believed in herself and her ability to love and be loved in return. He built her up. Made her strong. Then it bit him in the ass.
When his past is dropped like a bomb into his present he's faced with that strength that he helped to build. For once I am on team heroine. I love her. I love that Cat stayed true to her and her every dream. Even if it meant giving up the man who infused her with the confidence needed to do it. That is HUGE coming from me. Ask me the heroines name in some of my all time favorite books and I'll stumble to remember. I'm terrible when it comes to them. Not this time though. Not Cat. She owns this book in a way that makes me want to hug and kiss her and then shake her because well, because he's Muff and I love the hell out of him!
This story has all the feels. All. Of. Them! You'll cry, you'll laugh, you'll swoon and you'll be angry. It will be worth every one of those emotions.
Beloved was one of my favorite books of 2014 and this one is even better if you can imagine that. I cannot wait to see where Corinne takes us next

5 beholden stars!

Wow. Just wow. Jackson Cole stole my heart with Beholden. I loved him in Beloved, but finding out details about his past made me fall head over heels in flove with him.

I was so scared to read Beholden because of the way Beloved left off. Then Corinne kept sharing teasers that would make me flinch with worry. The anticipation was killer!!!

Corinne's writing is fantastic. She manages to grab you from page one and not let up until you have the book finished. She makes each and every character seem real. I seriously would love to fall into Jackson Cole's lap ;)

Beholden was full of angst and was so emotional for me. Beloved was jam packed full of angst too, so I know what to expect from her in the future. Another auto 1-click author!

If you are looking for a H that will blow your socks off, Jackson Cole is that man. If you want a heroine that knows what she wants and goes for it, Beholden is the book for you. (Just make sure to read Beloved first.)

I am very impressed with this author's work. When I read Beloved I was amazed at how written it was. Give this debut author a chance and go fall in love with her writing like I did!!

A magnificent 5+ star pressure cooker that grabs a hold of your heart from the prologue and doesn't let go!!!!!!

Breathtaking
Endearing
Heart-twisting
Overwhelming
Loyal
Devoted
Erotic
Naughty

It is extremely hard to put into words all the emotions one feels when you read a story such as this one. You don't want to spoil it for anyone but you desperately want to convey how madly you have fallen for the characters, the kick-ass writing and how much it makes an imprint on your soul forever. So with that said, this is what I will tell you:

Jackson & Catherine's love is not pretty, it is hard-fought and extremely painful to endure & witness at times. Corinne has done such an exquisite job with their epic conclusion that you feel as though you are suffering right a long with them. I literally felt like someone was sitting on my chest from the prologue on.

This story consumed me...it is raw, sexy, full of wit & banter (which by the way, I adore). The twists will pull the rug out from you, make you blubber like a baby and quite possibly make you scream in frustration (which I did several times). To pull that kind of emotion from your readers, it is quite a gift. BRAVO!

Love is often a messy journey, especially for our Jackson & Cat! But god is it worth it!!!!! Their love is a love that your heart adores & swoons for. It is a love that if you just trust & believe...it really does conquer all.

For me, Beloved & now Beholden will be stories that I will never forget and always will beg for a reread.

You will not be disappointed with diving in and having your heart captured by this beautiful, passionate couple!

"Catherine, you're my heaven. So I thought I was dead, because that's when I thought I'd see you again."

"I miss you even when you're here."

What can I probably comment on this wonderful love story. While reading the story I literally got goosebumps all over. I could feel the love which was poured from Jackson for Catherine and vice versa. I'm in awe with this pair. They went through many ups and downs undoubtedly but were back together with more love and adoration. I just loved the way the story ended. I was all over Liam when I read his story but damn I must say one can actually feel the love which Jackson pours for Catherine. In love with the chemistry. The way they hold each other, the love between them and the way there hearts throbbed for each other got me swooning badly. Loved every word until the end.

"You don't leave me. I'd be lost."

"I'll always find you Jackson."

"You'll never have to worry about me straying from you. I've everthing I need right here."

Packed full of intense moments that leave your chest aching, this book is the perfect conclusion to an amazing love story. There was also an abundance of laughter, and even a few tears along the way. The balance between book one and two is very well executed, leaving the reader fully satisfied.

"Regret is a motherfucker"

Don't miss out on Jackson and Catherine's story. You'll surely regret it if you do.

Can't wait to see what next from this talented author!

RECENSIONE QUI: https://thereadingslove.blogspot.com/...
