Things are always odd and strange in Metamora, but when the proprietor of the curiosity shop, Odd and Strange Metamora, hosts a spring carnival showing off his collection of oddities, the day goes right in the garbage—or rather, out of the garbage when a raccoon overturns a trash can in the middle of town scattering human bones around the park.
When it’s discovered that the remains date back over a century, rumors start to run as rampant as the pack of furry bandits taking over the town at night.
Cameron Cripps Hayman thought she’d have a quiet week with her canine crew away at dog training, but her relaxation is short lived when another possible murder in town needs solving. With her team, the Metamora Action Agency, on the case, they’ll piece the mystery together bone-by-bone and lead-by-lead, and maybe even find a way to get rid of the trash pandas in the process!
Cam and Ben ( Cam husband) reconciled they're selves to stay together. Mia ( Cam step daughter) was happy that they were again together. Monica ( Cam sister) boyfriend Quinn are getting serious in they're relationship.Quinn has been taking Cam's dogs except for the little Maltese Liam (Mia puppy) to be trained to behave instead of being the wild ones. In book 4 Cam and Monica find human bones in the dumpster. The Action Agency tried ( The Action Agency was to market town events but nessicity made it much more. They solved murders and called they're selves sleuths. ) to find out who the bones belonged too. It was a older man around 100 years ago.Steve set up a Spring carnival ( a man that was owner of Odd and Strange Metemora). His great grandfather used to set up same tent and in the tent there were artifacts, old photos, and shrunken heads (Cam thought that she hoped they were not real). Then saw an Ancient table of Metamora Past revealed. A plaque with a man running a circus with performers who were freaks Twins Pip and Pong , a dwarf. named Hilda and a Dorman named Clawtooth. This book as always was great. Just a little slow. Some of the story made me laugh out aloud about Irene ( Ben's mom) I will keep on reading these books
Excellent book where the deceased is a 100-year-old skeleton. I enjoyed following along as the team tries to figure out who the deceased is and who killed him.
Raccoons. Raccoons everywhere! When a garbage can is tipped over and bones are revealed, an age-old murder has modern-day consequences.
While the story itself was entertaining, there were so many toxic relationships in this book. The insults and subtle (and not so subtle) digs taken at the main character's expense started to jar. Salt of the earth characters are all well and good, but there needs to be a line drawn between good-natured joshing and out and out abuse. The behaviour of some of the older characters was childish.
As in previous Dog Days books, there were misused words that pulled me from being fully immersed in the story. Admittedly, there were fewer than in previous outings, but they were there.
Though I loved the premise of the story, I felt it got lost in the attempts at comedy. It is a pity because this tale could have been amazing otherwise.
A decent read but frankly just a bit of a let down after the previous books. Also I really didn't find it humorous or amusing but that could just be me. I found it sad that some people take their family history to the lengths that this went. The characters, well it was good to see Irene take down a peg or two but the rest just seemed a bit out of character. The feud between her seniors is just a bit childish but the animals were great. Are raccoons really that much of a problem? Noises in the attic, a skeleton (missing a few bones) is found in a rubbish bin and now the search starts as to who the skeleton was. More bones, lies, a diary and family pride. Can she work out who the skeleton is and how he got into the rubbish bin?
Everybody know everyone in this small town. Founders daughters are exclusive and have their noses in the air. When mystery bones are found. The finger pointing begins. Great read with lots of humor.
The books in this series are a relaxing read. Ms. Blair presents a community of a variety of individuals. All have flaws, like the rest of us, but they have more in common than not. The dogs are pretty wonderful, too.
I am definitely loving the series! The characters are awesome! And the books are action-packed and keep you sucked in from the beginning to the end! Highly recommendthis series
