When I'm through with Heaven, even the Devil will admire my work.

They did their best to destroy everything I hold dear, but Heaven made one fatal flaw. They didn't kill me when they had the chance. You don't attack the ones I love and get away with it. I never asked for this. I never wanted to become what I am.

But the path to Hell isn't paved with good intentions. It's paved by the retribution of the worst kind of monsters. The ones we create. And Heaven is about to face the deadliest of their makings.

Return to The Marked Mage Chronicles with the seductive, thrilling new installment told from the perspective of Kat, Reese, and the Crown Prince himself.

WARNING: This book contains strong language, violence, and sexual content. What can I say? Our Prince has a dirty mind and mouth.

OH MY GOSH! That ending!

But before I get into that, I just have to ask HOW DOES VICTORIA MAKE ALL THESE PEOPLE LIKEABLE?
Dominic (the same guy who attacked all of them at the end of the last book) now has my undivided attention.
description
everytime he came into the story, I kept picturing Robert Sheehan in Umbrella Academy.
Irish? Check.
Beautiful green eyes? Check.
Wild dark hair? Check.
Guyliner? Check.

And then “Mo”. Yes, the big scary creepy skeleton monster that appeared in the first book is now the lovable sidekick hanging out in Carly’s house eating Cheez-Its!
Come here you big adorable monster!
description

The mystery was great, the twists and turns in the plot kept me on my toes, and the ROMANCE!!!!

I really need time to digest this book because I have the biggest book hangover, but I am just so happy my SHIP came true! That ending though has me slowly dying inside! I need book 4 NOW!

REVIEW PRIOR TO RELEASE:

Yes, I know the book isn't out yet, but just like Bianca Scardoni's "Infernal," this yet-to-be-released book was given a certain unfair first rating that I couldn't help but review it prematurely. Hopefully the previous rating was intended for another book and wasn't intentionally targeting VIPEROUS, but if it was, then that just seems really cruel to do to the author. :(

Possible spoilers...

This book was alot longer than the others and for it being what i thought was the last book I was happy with that. I am a team Blaine fan so I was very happy with alot of this book. The ending was a huge cliff hanger and if Val really does die I'm going to be very upset. I just hope we dont have to wait another 2 years for the nex book. It made it very hard to remember who was who and what happened in the other books.

I planned on this being my last book for 2019, but now I’m glad it was my first for 2020.

I received Insidious the first book free on audible and really enjoyed it, but the second installment is really what had me wanting more!!!!

I waited over a year for this book and I am not disappointed by the wait. The story development was intense and believable and everything tied together leaving you with a hard painful cliffhanger.....

I think Blaine has officially jumped up in rank for book boyfriends. While he’s always be sinister and witty, we now see him raw and open to show who he is. Even in all the darkness you can’t help but want to love him.

Kat’s character also grew drastically. I enjoyed her finally exploring her feelings for Blaine and embracing being a Dark Mage.

Character ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Writing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Romance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (still hangin on for that finally seal to their bond)
Magic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overall 4.5 ⭐️
Please Victoria don’t make me wait forever to finish the rest of this amazing story

I absolutely love this series. It must be said, I am so Team Blaine! Probably my most favorite book boyfriend ever!! And I can't believe that cliffhanger! Cruel you are Ms. Evers!! Cruel!! {in the best way!!} Spoilers!!
I loved how the relationship for Kat & Blaine progressed in this book. I wish they would have "sealed the deal", the build up is killing me!! I want to finally find out what Blaine is keeping from her! What is he forbidden to tell her? What is the significance of them both becoming so physically ill when separated? I feel they are more than just fated mates. Is there something better than that? I feel like its maybe the Twin Flame as the better option for happily ever after, but is it if she would have to give up who she truly is? She wasn't crushed to lose Reese like she was with Blaine. So I feel like it must be something else. Something that trumps all else. What does the double X rune mean?
I love how we got to see the sweet, not so cocky side of Blaine. The scene when he is freaking out after his shower in the Underworld, after the falls, cracks me up. It makes him seem more human than Crown Prince & just made me love him all the more. I also think he was right/honest when he said that Reese wanted the idea of Kat but he, Blaine, just wanted her. I NEED them to get the hea! It has to work out for them!! There cannot be a twist in the next book where she ends up with Reese!
And OMG! To not know the fate of Val (oh how I adore Captain Cock Block the ruffian). You can't take him away from us!! You just cant!! Book 4 cannot come quick enough!

BEST BOOK IN THE SERIES - no doubt!
So glad I stuck through book 1 and made it through the end.

The character development & dialogue was so much better in this one. Also I loved the POV chapters from Blaine...could’ve done without the ones from Reese though 😅

Victoria Evers turned up the heat in this book which was much appreciated, and I absolutely loved the chapters in the Underworld.

There was a bit too much action (fighting) for my likes, but what is there to expect with a paranormal fiction?!

I was continuously frustrated with Kat for not seeing what was right in front of her, with Blaine. And being completely mislead by people talking in her ear.
There were also a couple of parts that were confusing where *important* dialogue would begin but then the characters would be cut off.

The cliffhanger at the end was also a mystery too and there was a HUGE plot twist in this book! Can’t wait for Ruinous to come out.

This was messy. I really enjoyed the other two books, but this one seemed like a big messy train wreck. I love the Blaine/Kat relationship but VE needs to get a move on. This book felt fuzzy and without direction.

Oh boy, what a book. So much happens and it ends on another cliff hanger that will leave you desperate for book 4. Kat evolves so much and her relationships with everyone changes. Her character evolution reminds me a lot of Feyre from the “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series. The worlds/plot are totally different so it doesn’t feel identical but they share a similar theme of one love trying to smother with protection while another love empowers our heroine to be who she truly wants to be. But considering the secrets Reese and Blaine both keep in this book, I kept bouncing back and forth on who was the best fit for Kat. And I loved that! For me, this book was worth all the release date delays. There were a few negative comments on the author’s Facebook page every time she’d give a possible release month and it wouldn’t happen. I understand the frustration because of course I want to read it as soon as possible too. But I’d rather have a possible release date that doesn’t happen then hear nothing at all because it lets me know the author is still working on the story. I waited almost 8 years for the third book in a series by another author to be released so the 2ish years between books in this series doesn’t faze me much (that other book was well worth the looooong wait btw). Here’s hoping book 4 & the companion series will be ready in 2020 but if not, there’s plenty of other amazing authors for me to discover while I wait.

Good

This book had much less of the errors and grammatical issues of the other books which I appreciated. Some parts were a bit cheesy but I’m invested enough in the story that it didn’t bother me too much. My biggest issue is that the author made the readers wait at least 2 years past when it was originally supposed to come out so my hopes were high about the quality of the writing but it was my least favorite of the 3 out so far. I’m unsure if I will read the fourth book if it ever comes out. I definitely will not start another series by this author until all of the books are already out.

I don't think I will continue reading

While I enjoyed the first two books this one just seemed to go nowhere fast. I actually skipped most of the middle chapters because it just seemed to be repetitive filler that didn't add to the story.

Devilishly Devistated

This book left me in pieces. The ending literally crushed me. After rereading the last chapter for what seemed like the hundredth time, I read the book again. The imagery scattered throughout is outstanding. The feel of the book as a whole is spectacular. I feel there were some short comings in character development but this is a very large book so its understandable to skimp a little when the bulk of the book punches you in the face with information. Victoria Evers has a unique writing style and I never can quite explain it other than I am entirely captivated by every single word and completely mesmerized by this story. I patiently awaited the arrival of the third installment and it was every bit as delicious as I had hoped. I will be patiently awaiting the fourth book and rereading the series a bazillion times in the mean time. Absolutely remarkable.

I loved this book!!! Definitely team Blaine, Reese needs to find him another girl. Kat is coming into her own and finally starting to make her own decisions. We had a lot going on in this book. I’m excited it wasn’t the last one in the serious. Dominic coming out of the woods on Kats side was a surprise. I can’t wait for the next book.

Ahhhh sexual frustration 101 should be the title of this book.
Seriously! How has Kat not imploded -
Find a door with a lock people!!!!
Love where the story is heading, but I felt like there was so much repetitious foreplay and dialogue in sections that didn’t lend much to the story overall.

WHEN IS BOOK 4 COMING?!?!?! PLEASE DON’T LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THIS!
Oh my god! Every book in this series has been superb! Pleeeeaaassseeee release book 4 post haste!
A few questions though if someone could answer them?
-did Blaine have to be killed by his ‘father’ in order to become the crowned prince of lust?
-if he was only killed in the space of a few years, how did he become so good at what he does? Does he re-incarnate? Who crowned him? We’re all his relatives just waiting in the underworld like a surprise party?
-if Blaine is the prince why is Raeyland his boss?
-Why isn’t Kat more pissed at Val for killing her to begin with?
-was Dominic faking it this whole time when he hexed Reese?
-why was Angelique hunting Kat down not on the battlefield if that was her original intent?
-is Carly possessed by Angelique or has she been her this whole time?
-who resurrected Angelique?

Amazing

5.0 review
I simply love this series the more I read them. Kat is confused about everything and nothing seems to be clear to her. Her life is what you would call a mess. Friends are mad at her, love life not going great with who she wants, the prince won't leave her alone and she is stuck living with him. The topper is she keeps having visions and waking up in weird places. The hex on Reese has everyone on edge and now he thinks he is hurting people In his sleep. If shit ain't bad enough a spirit is trying to get them as well. And hells finest creatures are after them. One thing that Kat knows for sure is hell better kill her because she will fight to the end to protect her mate and who is now the man she loves.

Literary Blue Balls

I don’t know if it’s a thing, but this book and really the other books as well, gave me a serious vibe of what I can only call as literary blue balls. Kat’s constant back and forth about her feelings as really aggravating. Hardcore Team Blaine here, and every time she seemed to get close and open her eyes to him, she ran away. So freaking annoying... they are finally going to commit....AND NOPE! Every stinking time! All in all, it was an interesting read, but I don’t know if I have the staying power to wait for the next book, especially if it’s not going to be the final book. I’m a little frustrated, not gonna lie.

Frustration ****

Worst book in the series; drug on. I am firmly on team Blaine but I have to feel bad for Reese, until I don't.

Cons
- So many important facts revealed in prior books forgotten by everyone
- Stubbornly bias in views; some things do not add up but she will not ask questions and makes more assumptions
- Back and forth in loyalty, will not acknowledge feelings
- How many times is she going to go running out of the house while everyone is hunting her and bring trouble on everyone
- The ending is a Major cliffhanger

Pros
- Blaine
- Val

🤞 next book out soon

This series offers readers a unique few heaven and hell. It reminds us that nothing is black OR white. Shades of grey inside and around all of us. Viperous is told not only by Kat but also Reese and Blaine. I liked seeing things from their perspective. This book continues the push/pull between the 2 main guys. Where bad isnt so bad, and good is not all good. Many reasons to enjoy this story but I do hope we will not have to wait such a long time for the next book to be released.

Confusing

Amazing book, fantastic story, but can near e every paragraph I was like wtf..did I miss something? Head to go back and re read I my to determine I didn t miss something, it's just written that way. Confusing and frustrating as hell. Still many things I do t really u understand but had to just move on unless I wanted to go digging through each book looking for the explanation that was already focusing enough.

Whoa

Is screaming appropriate for a review? I've got a lot to scream about. What with the incredible growth this author has demonstrated in her writing to the character dynamics to the story itself. Is this the most amazing story I've ever read? No. Was I dying to read every last bit despite this? Absolutely. The depth of emotion is great and the banter is as good as ever. If you've enjoyed the story enough to want to read this one, do it cause it's only gotten better.

Trying to figure it out

Strange books . Unfortunately I had a hard time trying to keep up . But read all three books and still no real ending . You never heard from Gabriel again , its hard to figure out who the bad or good guys are . Turns and twist everywhere, that's what kept my attention. Guess that's what I get reading teen books .Basically the something in all three books , no-one getting anywhere . But all in all I'll get the fourth book just to see how it ends .

Wow

Ok where is the next book because the cliff hangar ending has me wanting the next book!
Team Blaine after seeing who is truly is with Kat. World building is excellent, the actions scenes are riveting, supernatural beings abound, many twists that bring out startling revelations, and romance. The author superbly shows that not all that is supposed to be good is good and not all that is supposed to be evil is evil at all.

Too long and confusing

Honestly I tried hard to read this book since I enjoyed the others and her writing. However, this is just long and boring and Kat is always running away, just becoming dumb and repetitive. Seems as if author has no real storyline and conclusion in mind and just wants to keep readers guessing so they buy the next book in the series. Won’t read the fourth book.

Finally after three books did I finally stop being so confused. This series has the potential to be so good but maybe I’m just not good at understanding the authors way of writing. I understand the point of leaving Kat in the dark for things but I feel like the author purposely try’s and keep us the readers in the dark as well. Like I’m not even sure what these people are? Vampires? Werewolves? Sorcerers? Lol idk, to deep into it now. Hope book 4 is better!
